Big Mother March 30, 2017 Share March 30, 2017 Oh no. :( This is all but confirmation that the Real o'neals are sailing off into the sunset. We'll never know if Eileen and Clive tie the knot. Or how everyone else does. But I guess we can follow Pat into his new adventure.... Living Biblically. http://deadline.com/2017/03/jay-r-ferguson-cast-cbs-comedy-pilot-living-biblically-1202054972/ Oh, and we can also follow Jimmy as he sails off to outer space. http://deadline.com/2017/03/spaced-out-matt-shively-christine-woods-female-lead-nbc-comedy-pilot-1202053318/ 1 Link to comment
Perfect Xero March 30, 2017 Share March 30, 2017 The show's prospects aren't good in general but its normal for actors to book pilots when their show isn't a guaranteed pick up. Link to comment

Shively turned a sort of nothing role on the page into one of the highlights of the show. 5 Link to comment
pennben April 2, 2017 Share April 2, 2017 (edited) Without Jimmy full time, I don't know that I want to see the show carry on (I think there is slim hope of that regardless). Edited April 2, 2017 by pennben Link to comment
Perfect Xero April 2, 2017 Share April 2, 2017 In the event that the show is picked up for another season I'm confident that Jimmy/Matt would be back full time. Link to comment
SanDiegoInExile April 3, 2017 Share April 3, 2017 Most casting announcements/decisions on other projects are contingent on whether the current series is cancelled. Actors typically commit to 7-year contracts for each project and future projects are aware of that. That said, I don't hold out much hope for Season Three (although I suspect the Jenna Elfman female "Ted"-ripoff show is likely to draw even lower ratings). At least we got 30 episodes. zxy556575 May 12, 2017 Share May 12, 2017 The show was in my top 10 and I'll miss it, but I'm happy the showrunners were considerate enough to give us a sweet wrap-up in the season 2 finale in case it was cancelled. 4 Link to comment
Delphi May 12, 2017 Share May 12, 2017 Total bummer, but I'm grateful that the writers wrapped up the show in good way. 6 Link to comment
SmithW6079 May 13, 2017 Share May 13, 2017 Not surprising, especially the way it was wrapped up. This quote was in the comments of the linked story, and it's kind of true: Quote I really wish the two primary characters (Eileen and Kenny) had been more likeable. They were the least likeable and sympathetic characters in the whole cast. The other siblings and the dad were FAR better characters. I'll miss the rest of the family, but not so much Kenny. 1 Link to comment
truthaboutluv May 13, 2017 Share May 13, 2017 And YMMV but as much as I liked all the characters, I will miss Kenny the most. 1 Link to comment
Robert Lynch May 16, 2017 Share May 16, 2017 Did the Colton Haynes thing killed the series for good? Or was it the time slot itself? Link to comment

I guess this show was too good as much of what is on tv is garbage. sigh.... 1 Link to comment

Eileen learned to accept Kenny and the world out there. Kenny's selfishness is often called out and he realizes they are right (like the time he ignored his best friend for his boyfriend) 2 Link to comment
