Have K&J gotten more involved since 2011 because Kalli Fullerton flat out said K&J only show up for CMT nights. She said that was the biggest difference between her first and second time round in training camp. I don't think they need to be there every night especially since they are more executives and group leaders should manage the team day to day but just wondering since a former tcc was pretty adamant about their lack of attendance.

Re: ratings/ continuing on… Is lack of fan/social media chatter really a good thing? Usually indicates lower ratings/interest. The show never breaks into the top 100 cable ratings rankings and you only need about 1mm views to place. You said "millions more".. can you share the ratings? Highest rated show on cmt could mean 150k.

you know it honestly wouldn't shock me if Judy retired at the end, but I don't think either would retire just for a tv show timing. Definitely not Kelli. I only say Judy because she'll be closer to retirement age then and she has lots of grandchildren she seems to be involved with. I can see her staying on as a kitty carter type consultant for a long time, though.

I always find your insights interesting,( probably because I agree with almost everything you say, lol) but the one thing on your post that still gets under my skin is Yuko. I've watched this show since the first 2 hour special and have always been a fan of Kelli's because I know sometimes you have to make sacrifices or accomodations to get your job done. Of all the cuts that she's made, of all the "I-can't-blieve-she's-taking-HER-to training_camp!" moments, this Yuko situation is the one that absolutely gets on my last nerve. I realize that statement means zero in upper echelons of the DCC organization, but to some of this small, online community of fans, giving this woman a pass to run home when others get booted for being 10 minutes late, smacks of hypocrisy.  Bless that girls heart, it must be nice to get such special accomodations, and I *hope* she doesn't blow it and they regret their decision.

Fifteen years would be nice. It seems every year past S4 there have been rumors floated that it was getting cancelled, and then the last couple of years the word is that its CMTs highest rated show. I imagine that while K&J are used to the hassle of filming by now, they would be just as happy to get back to the focus of choosing their team without us "handful" of armchair quarterbacks.

Armchair quarterback....lol, ok that's a challenge, how about next year we all register for auditions...we can design our own tryout uniforms!

I love the show since the beginning and would miss it if it went off the air.  

I do feel that if they want high skilled dancers, sometimes you have to make exceptions, but they should be fair to everyone and not just the fav few! Yuko had a problem, they loved her for whatever reason, then ok.  Go do what you have to do.  However, if a TCC needs 2 days off to attend a pageant to turn in her crown, then ok, it should have been, go finish your duties.  I feel a professional dance team with adult participants should be treated as adults.  I'll never forget working at an ice cream stand as a teenager a few hours a week, sharing hours with 4 others on Tues, Wed & Thurs.. I had an end of the year concert and I was a soloist.  The manager purposely scheduled me for that evening when I gave him advanced notice, all because he fav employee didn't make it as a soloist.  The other person offered to trade days, to her credit, but it taught me that anyone can be an ***., and I advised him that tonight would be my last night as I have many music camps to attend this summer and would be hard to fit his schedule into mine.  Funny that I used those words 30 years ago!   It just comes down to treating people right.  Respect goes both ways. 

Looking forward to this season's show!  The week in between is going to be hard to wait!

I can't wait to go to games this season. With Deanna being a DCRB and loving the DCC so much, I just have to go.  The tickets are a bit cheaper than in previous years. I hope I can get to 2.  I'd love 3, but I like to attend stars, Mavs, Americans, and ranger games also. We have too many sports teams here. Haha

I wondered about that. Especially when they shuttled the show to 11pm Thursdays last season. And with the morning reruns it seems like they are trying to up the interest a bit. Probably won't make a difference in the end.

I'll be sad if we don't get a season 12 though. I really wanted to see the new dance digs.

Edited: Glad to see your thoughts about the show @TXStar35. Makes me feel a lot better! I also appreciate the detail and thoughts about some of the past as well as this season's TCCs.

It's interesting about the Taylor situation. It does seem like they thought she could be another Mackenzie and gave her every opportunity to get there and she just didn't do the work or couldn't make it work. I loved her dancing but I wasn't a fan of her attitude (the gumby/Barbie stuff and her reaction to being cut in particular).

I always thought that about Kelli's karma too.  She has been SO horrible to so many girls over the years.  ALL of it will definitely come back to her at some point or other.

I respect everyone's opinion, but it cracks me up - as a former dancer - that Kelli and Judy are seen as such rude dragon ladies. They're very, very, very, mild on the criticism, rudeness, etc scale. Like maybe a 2 on a scale of 1-10.

I am hoping so much that it not only stays for a full 15, that it goes beyond - I love rooting for the girls and having a glimpse of the world (even a very edited one) is awesome.  Also I've always loved Kelli and Judy and some of my favorite parts of the show are their commentary.  Looking way forward to the season premier - and because it's actually premiering on my birthday, I may even be able to get my boyfriend to watch with me ?

I don't think so. It looks the same to me. I think make up can just make everyone's features look a bit different at times.

But I don't consider these girls "adults" by any stretch of the imagination.  I wish I had someone when I was 18-21 to lead me more into adulthood.  You don't really know until you are over 40 how illogical your thought process can be when you were 18.  I wasted 3 years on a guy--wish someone like K & J would have been there!  I don't know how some of the moms and dads let their baby girl go to TC if not local.

haha call me creepy because I can do that too ;-D I am not flexible at ALL, my elbows and fingers are just super double jointed like that.  I loved grossing other kids out with my thumb - I barely even have to try and it bends completely backwards at the joint. Doesn't hurt at all, just the way the joint works LOL  #sorryforrabbittrail

It's actually Thursday. Usually anyone who gets a barbie performs. Megan and holly did last year and kat even opened. Anyone who got a barbie and maybe someone with an extra  exciting solo will perform.

 

I crossed out the location for the privacy of the cheerleaders and their family and friends.

Who am I missing? I was thinking another rookie did but I'm not sure.  I just remember being surprised that neither Melissa or Erica got a Barbie this year.

yeah really surprised Melissa didn't ... next to Holly and Megan, I would peg her as the other one of the strong dancers!

From what I remember she was a begger, and she said her spirit was crushed. I can't really remember what else she said, but she just didn't leave gracefully. Of course asking for these girls to be gracious about getting cut is a lot, and she didn't pitch a fit or anything, but it just wasn't one of the cleanest cuts we've ever seen on MTT.

If I remember correctly, it was something to the effect that nobody deserves to have their dreams not come true.  I'm sure I have the words wrong, but it came out sounding like she deserved to make it when, based on her kicks, she didn't, crushed dream or not.

she really was such a powerhouse though.  To be fair, if I were that young and this was my forever dream, I probably wouldn't "begged" for a second and third chance as well lol

Yes, the part about nobody deserving for their dreams to not come true is what I was trying to remember. I'm a Taylor fan and really enjoyed her for the rest of the season, but that particular comment, I was like, what? If everyone who had the dream of being a DCC got their wish, the team would have several hundred members. Yeah, she is a great dancer, but her kicks were awful so it is what it is.

Like I said, asking for them to be gracious is a lot. I didn't stop liking her because of how she reacted to her cut. I probably would have reacted the exact same way. The part that made me raise my eyebrow was what Bytor just reminded me of, which was when Taylor said nobody deserves for their dreams to not come true. As the Rolling Stones say, you can't always get what you want.

I thought Taylor was disgusting.  Cross-eyed, big old horse mouth -- not to mention those scandalous pictures of her dressed VERY inappropriately.  I'm thanking the DCC gods that she didn't return this year.

ETA are you saying they mixed up names on another video...? If so, yeah, that sucks, but stuff happens.

ETA again, here's the other video. Mistakes like that are bound to happen when you have a bunch of beautiful girls running around in identical uniforms. Sounds like they need to get their editors in check.

Jenn K and Jenna looked beautiful in those videos.   Wow I really thought Melissa was Amy T at first until her very last smile, so I don't know if I could blame CMT for their mistake - haha.

Robin seems like she may be a candidate for replacing for Jenn K in the ambassador sense when Jenn K retires - she is so well-spoken.
