I don't remember if he did that .

Mika did offer to adopt some Syrian refuges a few years ago but I don't know if she ended up following through with that. Her chickens & pigs were left behind in NY when she moved to Florida.

I think the product placement ship sailed when they allowed them to flash on air the name/website of the company that does the lighting for Joe's band and they cheerily provided a quick endorsement.  I couldn't believe it when I saw it.  And speaking of placement, I see her purse has made a triumphant return to the set.

what’s more is that it has been reported that the places refuse to accept any donations from the outside.

A true journalist would investigate who owns these private prisons and what they get paid.  It is not about money.  It’s just the money.

None of these people are paying any attention.  CBP has said it will not accept any donations of toothpaste or anything else for the asylum seekers.

Lemire is an idiot.  Yes, asylum seekers need to be detained until their claims are processed.  However, they are being imprisoned, not detained.  Imprisoned like sardines in dog cages and freezers, children are being separated from their parents, and no one is being given basic toiletries or blankets and children are sleeping on concrete floors.  We are taking away their medicines they brought with them.  They are not getting enough food.  They are drinking from toilets because we aren't giving them water.  They are not getting sufficient medical care.  Unrelated slightly older children are forced to take care of babies and toddlers and don't have the resources to change diapers, or bathe them.  This is child abuse and human rights violations and unconscionable and unacceptable.

Asylum seekers are not criminals.  They have done nothing illegal or wrong.  They are legally presenting themselves at the border to seek asylum, like they are supposed to do.  Then we dehumanize them, torture them, and talk about zero tolerance while these people, human beings, get sick and die, which they have started doing.

He would, if what? If he were still in Congress. That’s stupid then he COULD influence the legislation.  Fundraisers are what private citizens do.

A true journalist would get photos of the conditions inside.   One big reason there hasn't been a greater backlash about this is because it's only being talked about and rarely shown.

Hey, look at my man Andrew Yang moving up, doubling his support to 2%.  He was on Colbert last night and while some of his positions/ideas do not appeal to me he is very funny and should be interesting at the debate this week.

Bonus points to the show for going to commercial with Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb." This followed what was actually a pretty good discussion about how the country has gone numb to all the stories about Trump and how some Trump supporters justify what is happening to the children at the border.

Of course, I did snort when Mika mentioned a "Morning Joe investigation" that was coming up in a later segment. Morning Joe does investigations??

Mika was happy that Biden is still leading with 38%. Sanders has 19%. Warren has 13%

Biden gained in the early states after the news that he was working with segregationists.

Joe called Ratner to tell him about Biden. Biden is in good shape before the debate.

Joe said civil rights heroes like Sharpton still support Biden.

 

The show started with various actors reading the Mueller report.

Joe was upset at having to read a script from the control room.

Trump made fun of Biden for not getting Obama's endorsement.

 

Mika is mad at Trump for saying he has a type when discussing Carroll rape accusations.

Joe said Biden got more press coverage for putting his hands on women's shoulders.

Mika blamed Bill Clinton for the coverage of Juanita Broderick. Democrats were quiet when Broderick accused Clinton of raping her. Joe said Democrats wanted power and could care less about Broderick. Now Trump is doing the same thing & the GOP is quiet about the rape allegations against him.

Mika said that VandeHei worked at Axiom in the show's open - and she read it off a telepromter.  Joe asks Joy Reid about her book and then proceeds to bulldoze her... her face when she realizes he's not stopping is pretty great.

Joe's "Morning Joe Investigations" is what you'd expect.  Turns out Trump is a populist who has no deep seated beliefs and is transactional with African Americans if they are popular and wealthy, and considers them beneath him if they're not.  Thanks for the hot tip, Scoop Scarborough.

Mika speaking to the camera as if she's speaking to Trump to scold him about being a rapist is beyond silly.

Vanderhei said that people are "tuning out" the media getting hyped up over every Trump tweet, comment, statement to the press  etc. There is less response on twitter to every tweet by Trump.

Some people are exhausted reacting to every thing that Trump says.

This could be devastating to the business model of several cable networks if people stop reacting to Trump.

Joe's "treatment" of Joy Reid was pretty appalling this morning. Joy might have been the first person on this show to say maga=make America the '50's again. 

Her book sounds good. Guess when Joe's book comes out it will be hailed as the book of the century. By him, Mika and anyone that wants to continue to be panelist.

I did find Joy's interview interesting, and I may just read her book. Never watched her show, mainly because most MSNBC hosts end up rehashing the same news over and over again, unless there's BREAKING NEWS while they're on air.

In all honesty, I can't imagine the jostling that will take place between those two Live! shows as today it was clear Mom and Dad were having their issues.
