that picture gave me chills down my spine.  the hate and loathing on his face is horrifying..

they talk so much smack about hillary and her damn emails but they aren't hammering that orange bobonick ( is this the correct spelling? if not pls. someone correct me, it's the ape who fornicates with whatever or something like that) on his upcoming child rape court case.  i don't care if it's a civil case, it should still be brought up.

Lol, I think the word you're groping (pun intended) for is bonobo.

Thanks dear friends for your kind words. It was when I was 15 and I don't think about it very often. Something about Donald Trump brought it all back. I guess now I know what people mean by "triggers".

You're right, peaches. He is triggering. He's "that guy" that every woman has experienced at least once in her life. The abuser, the groper, the catcaller, the rapist, the flasher. He's the man that invades your space, tells you to smile, or uses the C word in front of you. His defeat cannot come soon enough.

I'm a refugee from my parish church because of my stand in the California Proposition 8 Wars in 2008, and am not a Catholic in good standing in my diocese. I openly lobbied against the Catholic church and outstate financial and political supporters of Prop 8. The senior priest of our parish suggested that my husband and I take some time away from the parish to reconsider the teachings of the church on homosexuality -- I found it impossible to reconsider teachings where the goal posts kept moving on their propaganda publicly attacking the civil rights of gay persons to marry, while scuttling around in darkened corners, trying to bury pending lawsuits against pedophile priests (labeled as homosexuals). Our parish had housed two abusive priests and the future archbishop, who knowingly transferred them to prey and offend in other parishes.

Mr.Stunt was halfway out the door before the suggestion by our parish priest. Our children were in the middle of their confirmation education, and by their choice stayed on to complete it. Several parishioners felt compelled to remand them for their parent's political activities; a direct conversation convinced them never to speak to my children again. My children's faith took a battering -- to my deep regret -- but they endured and completed their studies; neither of them are members of a Catholic parish. During all this whoop-de-doo, we found a Quaker meeting house that welcomed us, and found a measure of peace.

My Catholic in-laws do not discuss our being shown the door of our parish; they are embarrassed to the point of thin blue lips, preferring amnesia. We are welcome at my parent's home parish, which gives my mother some relief. My father was in complete agreement with our decision. He felt Prop 8 was a decidedly un-American and unconstitutional law, and openly lobbied against it at the state legislature.

Our instincts, our lives and experiences are telling us that Donald Trump is a monster walking amongst us, preying on the basest fears rattling around in our simian psyches, poking our wounded egos and diminished wallets, stirring our mistrust of leadership beholden to banking CEOs, militarist oligarchs, gambling tycoons, tech and oil billionaires.

We know what Donald Trump is and what he represents. He is a neo-fascist dictator and has been in plain sight the whole time. When Hair Gropenführer is done savaging all dissent in American society -- Blacks, Muslims, Mexicans, feminists, the poor, old and infirm, ugly and fat, Trans and Gay, the disabled, the mentally ill, anyone in the way of his appetites -- he'll be coming for everyone else. Think Pol Pot in a custom-made suit.

Keep the faith and be proactive. Make sure your voters registration is up to date, and VOTE! Contact your chosen state election committee, and volunteer help with voter registration or to work as an election teller. Offer to drive a neighbor to the election polls. There are laws that protect your right to vote; familiarize yourself.

Every election is important, but 2016 is a mandate in support the civil rights of all citizens of the U.S., regardless of their affiliation, race, religion, gender or creed. Your skin is in the game.

I believe in you. You are Warriors.

That's it. Exactly. When he was marching around being stupid and disgusting and yet overpowering (because Hilary, Martha, Anderson, ALL OF US, the WHOLE EARTH, was trapped by decency and decorum and "rules") it felt familiar.

Peaches and Boes: I hope you both feel the big hugs you're getting here.

If he is he will be shot I feel in my gut

That was my first thought, too, but as much as I dislike the guy, I don't want that to happen.  (I'm embarrassed enough about being an American while this shitstorm is happening, let's not add a shooting.)  My thoughts now are that he will just resign if he gets elected (or before) because:

  • He reminds me of a childbully who has to have a toy and will scream, cry and intimidate the other kids until he gets it.  Then he'll play with it for a moment, probably break it and then throw it down.  He doesn't really want the toy, he just doesn't want anyone else to have it.
  • I don't see him as some one who thinks for himself.  He can't come up with his own ideas and he can't see the consequences of actions based on those ideas.  He takes ideas from others, uses them as his own until public response is negative and then blames it on someone else.  (i.e., He read it somewhere, or it was on CNN or soandso "said".)  Even that 'locker room' bull was just him trying to impress the douchebag sitting next to him.
  • He doesn't know jackshit about being president or a leader (of anything) and he knows it.  Should he win, he knows he's in a pile of shit and the party doesn't seem to be behind him.  All he can do is hope serious politicians will run everything for him and not make him look bad.  I  think he counted on being out of the race early, but his flaming ego got the better of him (see:  childbully).  Now he's faced with the very real possibility he may actually have to be President, not on TV, but with grownups and a country.
  • Stepping down [dramatically before the election, so he won't look bad when he loses] will garner him some sympathy and positive thoughts since he's being so 'honest'.  Hillary will win by default, making the election of the first woman president less motivating for our daughters and TrumpAss gets the toy again.

So, while I think the Trumpthing needs to be stopped, my moral structure can't condone killing him.  And I refuse to stoop to his level and let some 2nd Amendment yahoo do it.

^ Yes to all of this.  As much as I can't stand that motherfucker, I can't go there.

Plus, there's that little matter of a hearing he has to attend on December 16th as a co-defendent in a child rape case.  That would make the Inauguration planning a little awkward!

Just vote!  And do all of those extra things Cupid Stunt suggested, like volunteering and driving people to polls.  If you need any added incentives, look at his slimy douchebag sons, one if whom would be appointed Secretary of the Interior in a Gropenführer Administration.  You know, the guys in those charming photos holding the bloody dismembered tail of an African elephant, and holding the limp carcass of a beautiful leopard.  Yeah, one of those guys will be Secretary of the Interior.  VOTE!!!

I still wonder if Trump is a troll who decided to run for president for shits and giggles and/or to fuck shit up and assumed that he would never make it this far. The incompetence from him AND his entire team is so staggering that I find it very hard to believe that he seriously wants to be president.

This is me jumping up and down on the "like" button. My faith is humanity is partly restored. Like a lot of people in this thread have been saying, we knew this guy was a monster long before this election. Why are some people just now figuring it out? What is wrong with this country? Are people that afraid that Hilary will take way their guns and force them to gay marry turtle abortions that they are willing to throw away our country's reputation on the world stage ten times worse than Bush the Lesser ever did? Trumpenfuhrer wants to nuke civilians for gods sake. His hostility towards women, minorities and anyone not as rich as he is (and I'm not convinced he's as rich as he says he is cough *tax returns* cough) will  be extended to cover the entire electorate. He hates everyone who isn't him or one of his vile children.

That he was trolling the GOP base all along great would be a best case scenario. Sadly, his pick in a running game mate that would appeal to Evangelicals suggests otherwise.

In the increasingly unlikely event that Trump wins, I wouldn't want him killed, either, but mostly because Pence is next in line and would try to legislate the LGBT community back into the closet, to say nothing of women's health rights.

Well, just to extrapolate. If Trump really wanted to take down the GOP, wouldn't picking an evangelical running mate just be the icing on the cake? He would not only be exposing the Gropey Old Perverts for what they are, but also exposing the evangelicals for the hypocrites and false christians they are.

It's barely been mentioned at any point in this election, either by the media who was more than happy to give him more free press than every other candidate for ratings or from any of the other candidates.

Speaking of the media, fuck them, too. If there was ever any definitive proof that the only bias in media is to the all American dollar, the amount of focus given to him as he shot his mouth off, this election is it. It's all well and good to disavow him after he's already the nominee, but was better to have no given him the time of day to begin with. The blood of any carnage he wrecks upon his election will be on the media's collectives hands too.

Hmmm...good point. Most people with working brains have figured the hypocrisy out ages ago and now with this, many more will have to face it, too.

I think that's adding a news and politics forum is an awesome ?? change. I often don't keep up with news and having a forum where people discuss current events would be appealing for me as a reader/lurker.

i have been working my second job. Both are in stores! It's hectic and when I'm not doing that I'm w my family.

@boes do you have any new pics of your pets to post?

So I was listening to KYW radio (Philadelphia) coming home from work, and they were talking about an M Night Shyamalan movie that will be out in early 2017.  They were saying that the plot is truly terrifying, that it is about a person with multiple personalities who is holding people captive, and they have to try to appeal to the "nice" personality.  They said this is a plot that hasn't been done before.  I said out loud to my radio "Obviously you never watched soaps before!" :)

Some of the Twitter-followers might be aware of #notokay.

Author Kelly Oxford launched a Twitter feed shortly after the Billy Bush/Hair Gropenführer tape became public. She asks “’Women Tweet me your first assaults. They aren’t just stats. I’ll go first: Old man on city bus grabs my p***y and smiles at me. I’m 12.’”

It's an extraordinary and deeply upsetting read. ***I caution everyone -- Many of the Tweets are graphic and are not censored for language***

Something stupid, I'm sure :)

I tried so hard to watch Unbreakable, but I always fall asleep during it.  The weird thing, though, is that I always fall asleep & then wake up in the same spot every time.  Creepier than the movie, I think :)

Lol! That always happens to me whenever I've tried to watch The Incredibles. Also there seems to be a weird phenomenom where there are certain movies that I've never watched all the way through, but whenever they are on, I always come in at the same part.

Me neither, the only reality T.V. I've ever watched is Project Runway. His body language, the way he was trying to physically intimidate her was horrifying. As a rape survivor it nearly gave me a panic attack. I don't think most men understand the dynamics of that kind of looming physicality that maybe you only understand if you have been exposed to abusive men. And the way he was breathing, huffing and puffing with barely concealed rage. I thought he was going to explode. It was like could hardly control himself from going after her violently. Chilling.

I am so sorry you went through that no woman should have to suffer like you did.  There are no words to make you feel better I know that.  When I was a teenager there was a man who took every chance to expose himself and rub up against me so I know how these women feel who have accused him.  I just don't get how any woman can vote for him they don't know if the accusations are true or not yet they defend him and are trying to get a man who could be a sexual offender elected as president of the United States of America.  How do they thing any leader of any country is going to respect him except his buddy Putin the man who has anyone who gets in his way jailed or murdered.

Thank you for your kind words. I don't understand it either. It's scary how blind people can be when they don't possess any intellectual curiosity and just believe what they are told by the right wing nut jobs. We've seen countless examples of this and it's one of the reasons I'm not on Facebook.

I remember this one night, many moons ago, a bunch of us had been over at a friends house partying it up. It got late and a few people decided to spend the night. I was sleeping in a recliner in the living room, other people were scattered on the couch, the floor, etc. I woke up when I heard a noise and the front door was slowly opening. This was in a very old house, so the door creaked. I was just frozen, thinking "oh, no, what is it?" And then I saw the outline in the moonlight of what looked like three or four large cats. Of course they were raccoons. They slowly made their way into the living room. By now several people were awake. The raccoons sat up on their haunches and regarded us curiously. The person nearest the kitchen quietly got up and grabbed a loaf of bread. Then, like the silly young morons we were, we proceeded to feed the whole loaf to the raccoons. The friends that lived in the house were plagued with raccoons for the rest of their tenancy.

Thanks for asking valley.  I spent most of yesterday  curled up in the fetal position. I'm not worried about power outages, we're pretty well set with candles, lanterns, battery powered radios and a Coleman stove. But there are big trees around here and those scare the crap out of me. Where are you?

i live in the beautiful harbour city of nanaimo on vancouver island.  it is central island on the east coast of v.i.

i do not have an ocean view and the area i live in is quite high up, no creeks or rivers nearby so don't think i have to worry about flooding due to that.  since we are near the parkway, there are lots of trees around so i do worry about that..

Oh, it's so pretty up there. When I was a kid, my parents had a boat and we used to go cruising in the Canadian San Juans. We're on top of a hill, so I'm not worried about flooding either, but man those Douglas firs have shallow roots. When the soil get's saturated, watch your ass. Please stay safe! I just called my mom and asked her to please sleep in the downstairs bedroom. Last Nov. when we had a wind storm, they had a branch come through the upstairs bathroom window less than 12 feet from where they were sleeping.

So , this is a few days old, but when I got back from being gone for a week I got the usual dog cold shoulder.  You know, the "oh, you're home?  Where you gone?  And tell me, who are you again?" from Hazel.

Never fails.  It only lasts a few minutes before she forgets to be annoyed, but every dog I've ever had has done this with me.  But Hazel, she's the Queen of Guilt!

We adopted her through Doberman rescue -as we've been doing since 1986 - and she was supposed to be half Dobie, half Lab.  She has the coloring for a Doberman, so I guess that's where her coat comes from.  We did the DNA test and while she does settle out at being half doberman, the other half isn't lab so much as cocker spaniel.  Her temperament is very Dobie, though.
