jewel21 November 10, 2020 Share November 10, 2020 I brought Steve to the vet today for his annual exam and for a nail trim. We also did a biochemistry to check his liver since we hadn't done one in a year and a half, along with a gram stain and I stocked up on food. It cost me $400. Pets are expensive, yo. I should get the biochemistry results in about a week. No one is wearing a mask in my family but me. Gramps only wears one when he goes out. But if someone comes over to the house to fix something and isn't wearing one, he won't put one on. I've basically given up on all of them. The other day my brother, baby nephew, brother's girlfriend, uncle, grandfather, and electrician were all over at the same time and upstairs and not a single one was wearing a mask. I stayed in the basement. My cousin was briefly starting to wear a mask in the house around gramps but stopped last week. I guess she figures if no one else is, why bother, but it's still annoying. She drove me to the vet and didn't wear one the entire ride. I kept my KN95 on the entire trip. 2 Link to comment

I did not know this but it makes total sense. Pass the word. Could save someones life. When an animal does that "follow me" thing it is a good idea to follow them if you are in a safe area. There have been cases of regular dogs going to the neighbour's or dogs seeking out other hikers on trails and then leading them to a hurt or fallen person. Once my 3 cats woke me up and did it (and they never collaborated on anything before or since; only one of them was the usual waker-upper). It was odd, but I followed them down the hall, asking if Timmy had fallen down a well, and then saw a neighbour's garage fully engulfed in flames - bright orange and 15' high. I had just lifted the phone to call 911 when I heard the sirens. Edited November 14, 2020 by deirdra 8 Link to comment

My Aunt Trinket had been having a recurrent dream that her time was short and would die soon. She's active, in excellent health with no chronic illnesses for a 96 yo. She decided to publicly announce her estate executor (my father), and distribute certain items of her personal property while she was still alive. She sold her retirement bungalow shortly after coronavirus started in March (Aunt Trinket and Grandma moved in with my parents). Aunt Trinket used to own a pawn shop/antique store/used car lot/auction service; she had sold off her business and much of her merchandise when she retired 10 years ago, but still had retained a collection of her favorite things. She gave Mr. Stunt husband's Number 1's 1954 Chevy 5-window 1/2 ton Deluxe Cab pickup. I was given her collection of costume/pawn jewelry and Victrola. Each family member was given something that had been admired or promised to them. Aunt Trinket's eldest daughter (Fiona, and 2 brother's) snapped about members of their extended family included in her mother's estate. Trinket told her that's why she was having the distribution party while she was alive so there was no doubt whom she was acknowledging, to her honest intent and sound mind. Trinket pointed to the open bar with her whiskey sour, and told Fiona to drown her sorrows. "You'll be crying all the way to the bank soon enough." Trinket hosted a luncheon after the discussion period. Overwhelmed, deeply saddened ... My father said little, drinking bourbon with Trinket and her lawyer. 8 Link to comment

This thread is here to discuss topics other than things going on in the Y&R universe (eg what's happening in your life, recipes, hobbies, etc). What it is not here for is political talk of ANY type, which includes the US Presidential election. It is also not for posting links to news articles; there are plenty of places on the internet for news articles, this is not one of them. The latest of these posts has been removed. Non-political current events are NOT off limits, it's the linking to the articles that is. Let me know if you have any questions. Hope everybody has a happy holiday! 2 Link to comment
