^^I liked it, but how can you not when every interviewee adores the subject? It did make me sad to think that Fred Rodgers' innate decency and grace has been swept away by the Shout Them Down and Choke Them With Invectives Festival we find ourselves.

Back to a lighter note I still dislike my job and have been searching. Sometimes finding a job within a pay and location and culture criteria is hard then if you do if here's hoping they like you or someone didn't wow them first. The bright spot is I'm employed and G had been so supportive.

I was laid off last May and I only just got a full time job. (I did get a couple of freelance gigs last year.) It is hard to find work and it does take time. Try not to get discouraged.

Cpl. Martin could just as easily complain about the Farmer's Almanac for weather accuracy this winter.

It makes sense for snow-bound towns to have some sort of mid-winter festival to celebrate getting out of the house and the prognostication of thaw ... Even if it involves a famous rodent.

K Pop fans are mourning 100% lead singer Minwoo after his death aged 33.

The group's management issued a statement reported by IBTimes which said he had died after being found unconscious at his home. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but local media reports suggested it was a cardiac arrest.

"This is TOP Media," the statement read. "We apologise for delivering this sudden and heartbreaking news.

"Our artist 100% Minwoo left us on 25 March. He was found with no pulse at his home in Ganghan. Emergency services attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene."

"His family, bandmates, TOP Media colleague artists, and staff members are all grief-stricken and in mourning due to this unexpected sad news," they added.

"As the oldest member of his team, Minwoo led the band and truly loved his fans. For everyone who knew him and was aware of his kind-heartedness and faithfulness, the sadness is even greater."

Known primarily for their soulful love songs, there were rumors 100% was disbanding, aging out from the youth-based KPop market, particularly after the band went from 7 to a 5 member singing group. But shortly after reconfiguring the group, two new singles were released (Song For You, Warrior)  on Korean and Japanese talk shows, with a new LP release announced. As lead singer and long-time member of 100%, Minwoo was front and center to single release and press junket supporting the singles.

Minwoo’s funeral will be private, according to his family’s wishes.

That is so sad.

today I had a bad day at work I got in a big fight with one of owners of the company, it started with him saying something disrespectful to me. At one point he crawled on the floor groveling pantomiming an apology. Then we went in an office w another owner who's a woman who took both sides essentially and he threatened to fire me since he can't work with a person who plays victim then said "I'm nice I like you ....it's not like I'll fire you also I'm a great guy I give so much money to charity .." this place is a fucking mess. I applied a couple places online after I picked up George.

Safe journey Minwoo. Such a tragedy! ?

Did the band perform at the Olympics?

My Korean is spotty on a good day, but the Google-Fu translation of a Winter Olympic entertainment schedule said 100% played at one of the temporary venues near the stadium.

Cosign!

I worked for a Class A Lunatic, and it was a gut-wrenching experience. I was working as an engineer and recorded dozens of his diatribes and verbal assaults. HR wasn't surprised by the evidence I gave them when I filed my complaint (there had been dozens of formal complaints against him, but were considered They Said-He Said). My recorded evidence was the "last straw" -- He was given a golden parachute and promotion to corporate -- the "last straw" for HR was an insult to the people he tore apart regularly. It took a year at corporate where he insulted the wife of a national sponsor and was given early retirement.

A lot of companies, big and small, operate like feudal systems and will never change because the corporate structure is a personification of the people at the top and benefits them handsomely.

i was on facebook and one of the stories was about oklahoma and "shelter in place" rooms being set up inside the schoolrooms...

they are apparently bulletproof, can withstand an E5 (?)tornado or earthquake... setup only takes about an hour and you can have it any shape you want...

pity children have to worry about bullets in their classrooms..

Thing1 has stayed in England to finish her Internship project and prepare for her oral exams. She's spending Easter with her roommate's family.

The in-laws are staying in Oahu until April 20th. The other Stunt's have arranged a long skiing weekend in Squaw Valley.

Mr.Stunt, Thing2 and I are going to stay with my parents. My brother is putting on a barbecue and the whole famdamily will be there.

My father has always wanted to go to Chincoteague Island, Virginia and witness the Pony Swim, but there wasn't the time until he went into semi-retirement. As kids we never really went on "vacation." Driving to the county seat was a big deal. I mentioned to my mother that I wanted to organize a family vacation before Thing1 and 2 make any plans for the summer, and she suggested that the six of us go to Virginia.

Great idea! Mr. Stunt, Thing1 and 2 are on board. My father has agreed to leave the state on a jet. I'll find a house, with bikes and a boat to rent! <screaming halt>

Who was I kidding? For some reason no one wants my money until they talk me into a stupor. I've been working on this since January -- I need a house for six adults; how hard can this be? I finally signed on a house to rent for 10 days on the Bay. Realtors ... Are they supposed talk incessantly and say nothing?

Next, find a boat and bicycles. I might have that organized by the time we are ready to leave in July.

So true, Peaches.

I took a tour of a cheetah breeding facility at the Fossil Rim Center in Texas. They have a successful breeding program for zoos and wildlife preserves to maintain the genetic diversity of cheetahs. Cheetahs’ are shy and sometimes a little high strung, and are reluctant to breed in zoos. They need space and like privacy, and Fossil Rim offers that.

At the time I visited, Fossil Rim had 23 cheetahs as part of the American Zoological Association's Species Survival Plan. The plan keeps track of and manages cheetah lineage. The cheetahs are traded between zoos and other preserves to avoid inbreeding. Fossil Rim has had such success breeding cheetahs that zoos around the country send cheetahs that won't breed.

Fossil Rim is an entertainment/Bambi-land/petting zoo sort of place, and the commercialism can be off-putting. The tour through the property was interesting and the preserve is beautiful. To see a mother cheetah caring for her two cubs was worth the price of the ticket -- and less onerous than going to Namibia.

I still have this job I hate. After the big drama this week ....the next day he got into it with some of the other owners/managers and they were all screaming for hours and hours in the same room I was working. Today they were all out of the office and that was the day I finally booked something.?

Good Friday indeed! Congratulations on the booking, Petunia.

It may come as a surprise to your colleagues that mayhem is not conducive to nailing a sales call.

I'm in my mother's kitchen baking pies (lemon meringue, pecan, cherry, chocolate) and setting up lemon curd for cheesecake. We put together the Easter baskets this morning -- It's a Sugar Tsunami!

Please tell me about the chocolate pie you made. I make a chocolate pie and I'm always interested new recipes.

Aunt Trinket's Chocolate Pie

Ingredients --

Cookie crust:

2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs

2 tablespoons sugar

6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) butter, melted and cooled 15 minutes

Chocolate filling:

3/4 cup sugar

5 extra-large egg yolks (equivalent of 6 large egg yolks)

1/3 cup cornstarch

1 teaspoon kosher salt

4 cups whole milk, scalded

7 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped

2 tablespoons butter, diced

Pinch of kosher salt

1 tablespoon coffee liqueur

1 teaspoon instant espresso powder

Whipped cream:

1 cup cold heavy cream

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Milk chocolate curls, for garnish

Directions --

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

1. For the crust, combine the Oreo cookie crumbs, sugar and butter in a bowl. Press the mixture into an 11-inch false-bottom tart pan, making sure the sides and the bottom of the crust are an even thickness. Bake for 10 minutes and set aside to cool completely.

2. In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine the sugar, egg yolks, cornstarch and salt. With the mixer on low, drizzle in scalded milk until the mixture is combined.

3. Pour the mixture into a large saucepan and cook over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until the mixture is very thick. Off the heat, add the chocolate, butter, coffee liqueur and espresso powder and stir until the chocolate is melted. Pour the filling into the cooled tart pan and smooth the top. Place plastic wrap directly on top of the chocolate filling and chill for 6 hours. Place clean bowl and beaters to be used for whipping cream in refrigerator to chill completely.

4. When ready to serve, remove the plastic wrap from the chocolate, smoothing the filling if necessary.

5. Place the heavy cream in the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until the cream begins to foam, then slowly add sugar and vanilla until the cream forms firm peaks. Spoon the whipped cream on top of the filling and gently spread the cream with a spatula to cover the pie. For a garnish, shave curls of milk chocolate on top of the whipped cream. Remove the pie from the pan, place it on a cake plate and serve.

I have an in-house sale rep that used to wear this tee shirt whenever the PTB from corporate would do a walk-about through the station ...

the-cake-is-a-lie-t-shirts-men-s-t-shirt

I had to ask him to stop wearing it because I got tired of explaining its meaning to TPB, and then forced to watch TPB perform the five stages of grief for their wounded feelz.

"Wadda-ya mean they won't get their hopes up? There's plenty of cake for everyone!" <blinded by the glittering new Patek Philippe watch>

my nephew's wedding was beautiful....

the first part of it on the beach at the fisgard lighthouse was so picture perfect...bridal party was piped to the beach and the groom and groomsmen all wore kilts...

the second part of wedding was held at the bay st. armoury and it looks like a castle....again when the happy couple entered reception area they were again piped in.

at 12:01 am the legal part of ceremony took place where the couple said their remaining vows and were pronounced husband and wife...

after, when docs were due to be signed, the bride chose her moh/bestie to be her witness...my nephew chose his stepmother karen (married to my sis in law) as his...she had no idea he would ask her and she was verklempt..

shortly after 12:30 am, hubby and i left and went back to hotel...that was the latest i have stayed up in a very long time...
