It's more common for the CHILDLESS younger/college aged adults than for MOMS of any age. And only idiots leave the hurricane party during the fricking storm (except maybe during the eye) or go out in the storm willingly. And idiots like that end up busting their chins and stuff (looking at you again, Jenelle). You're doing it wrong. In fact, you shouldn't be doing it at all since you have KIDS or at least a KID (Kaiser, since we know Jace's mom is Babs). Where was Kaiser during this hurricane party? I'd be a mess if there was a hurricane/flooding and I wasn't with my baby. I'd be even more of a mess if my baby was with Nathan during the hurricane.

Thanks for pointing that out. I can see if single, young, or childless people are going to one of these things. But, a young mother who supposedly has her child in her care?

 

I keep wondering about Leah's dirty house, dirty clothes. I bet she sends the girls to bed without a bath if she could. When the cameras are there, she probably feels forced in having to bathe those girls.

A part of me thought Jenelle wasn't giving us the drama that she normally does because of the fact the photographer was there. Jenelle was likely embarrassed as hell and just tried to blow it off with humor. We know if it was just the camera crew there, Jenelle would have gone ballistic with Nathan on the phone. Even he was shocked as hell that she wasn't reacting.

I was reminded of something that was said by Jeremy earlier in the season. He mentioned Leah would be up in the middle of the night, until 4 in the morning on her phone, calling him or texting him. I have a feeling Mama Dawn did all of Leah's laundry and picked up after her. Talk about being spoiled rotten.

But, a camera guy pointed out that Leah has been the worst when it comes to housekeeping. I will link the article here.  The article is dated three years ago however, the camera guy mentioned he had to quit after the third season. That means Leah has been quite a shitty person since Teen Mom 2 started. If she wasn't an addict back then, what excuse could there be except that she is just fucking dirty and lazy. The addiction makes her tired, listless, and she poops out at doing anything that requires her doing her job as a SAHM. Here is a part of the article with quotes:

the best person on the show is Cory, Leah’s ex. Really sweet guy. He never should of agreed to be on the show. I would have to say that Leah is worst. Lot’s of horror stories about her.

He was going to post a Leah story later that night, but then he deleted all his info. However, when asked if he ever wanted to call Child Protective Services, he did share this anecdote:

    every shoot i would want to call CPS. filthy houses (dog poop on the floor, bloody tampons sitting in a corner for months, weeks old food everywhere, etc) one of the worst is Leah, filthiest person i’ve met.

    when feeding her twins she would spill a bunch of cheese puffs on the nasty carpet and the girls would crawl around and suck up the cheese puffs, no hands involved.

    this made me cry a few times.

    the production company rule was to file your complaint with production manager. if the production manager felt that they were legally bound to submit the complaint to the authorities they would. of course they never did. it took a lot of alcohol to fall asleep. i couldn’t take it half way through the 3rd season and quit.

 

The camera guy also mentioned the higher the ratings, the more the girls make:

 

They are making 150k and up when including the ratings bonus. Less ratings = less money for them. So don’t watch the show!

    They make a lot. Especially when considering where they live and the cost of living. They spend unwisely. If they were smart they could be set for life.

 

Forget Dr. Drew and that chick who hosted this Unseen Moments, I want the camera person to sit down with the girls and grill them about the show, and then surprise them with the footage when they lie.

 

Leah looked so damn high while driving with her girls. It is just infuriating to watch this play out. I imagine Cory and Miranda have it so much worse as they have to deal with dirty Leah and hear her lies and bullshit. God, I just want to slap the shit out of Leah's face.

I hope this isn't too far afield from the topic, but I might be able to shed some light here from my experience in working for a network that buys these shows (not MTV, although I will say that the reputation MTV had when I was active in the field was that they were EXTREMELY cheap and expected people to work for free. This was a decade prior to the 16 & Pregnant phenomenon).

 

The production field is small.  People bounce from house to house and the the production company that does all the filming is separate from the network that purchases the product. Competition is fierce. ESPECIALLY if you are on a successful project. You not only have experienced camera operators vying for your job, but also people who want to move up. That production assistant doesn't want to do that forever. They want to be a camera operator, an editor, a producer. Unless you are incredibly talented (and that talent is recognized), you can be replaced in a heartbeat.  They regularly remind you that there are hundreds of people who would love to have your job. If you are someone who reports a lot of issues to your production manager, you get red flagged and they just don't ask you back.  There are no rules against retaliation. The industry is very dependent on insider relationships and nepotism.

 

The people you work with can be surprisingly (and probably intentionally) tone deaf to what normal people might consider fairly alarming behavior. It's not in their best interests to be concerned with anything but their jobs. Did you see Nightcrawler? That movie was pretty...yeah.  

 

The fact that MTV "steps in" ever is pretty surprising to me and really sets off alarm bells for how bad things actually must be. It makes me wonder if there are hours and hours of film that MTV has chosen not to show us because they show actionable behavior and MTV doesn't want that kind of heat after Amber/Gary.

Yes. And nobody forces those last two to lump together. One could argue that their relationships with men and with family were damaged by bad fathers or how they grew up but they do it themselves.

On top of the fear of losing your job, I'm not sure any of the examples he listed would flag CPS. If they're overwhelmed with cases of children being beaten, sexually abused, starved or extremely neglected, I'm not sure Leah letting her kids eat off the dirty floor or leaving used tampons out would be a priority. And if it did, it's the camera mans word against anyone else's- he just operates the camera, he doesn't have the footage.

That said, I'm almost certain there is footage on the cutting room floor that would keep us all awake at night.

Not because I want to believe the worst of Leah, but simply because Leah has shown herself that she is addict, and like many addicts with children, they tend to neglect many things about raising children including keeping a clean home. Leah is also a liar and she has shown the lengths to which she will lie. She has no credibility.  When deer-cam gate reared its ugly head, Leah was quick to take to Twitter to try and smooth things over. She and Jermy are "in love" and all that bullshit she tried to put out there. At the same time, she tried to smear Cory and Miranda and try to convince people that they were the couple in trouble. Well, we know how Leah's life with Jermy ended up. Leah is lying about rehab. Leah is a huge manipulator. That comes with being an addict. I will believe anyone else over Leah any day.

 

The camera guy must have seen a lot over three seasons. I can't even imagine.

 

One day I want to watch the real Unseen Moments with all the stuff that didn't make it to air. I want ALL the footage. This Unseen Moments being hosted by Nessa is a joke. They need to just have someone introduce the footage without asking the girls their point of view.

 

When Nessa asked about being overwhelmed, right after the Leah footage of her trying to get ready for the party was shown, there was Jenelle and Leah both talking about being overwhelmed as Kail and Chelsea remained quiet. I swear, I think I saw Kail and Chelsea shoot eyes at each other as if they were thinking, "WTF? These bitches are overwhelmed? They don't even have their kids with them most of the time." Kail and Chelsea didn't chime in. Chelsea has Aubrey about 90 percent of the time and manages to wash clothes and keep a clean home. Kail also keeps a very clean home and she has two kids, one of whom is in her care most of the time, except when she is on vacation. She doesn't have a pile of clothes everywhere.

Just got around to watching this. I can't believe how likeable Kail was during her scenes. I cried a little during the Isaac and Lincoln scene when Isaac was like I said I was sorry! That's a scene right out of my life and I do feel like shit after scolding my daughter when she's unintentionally hurt or scared her brother.

Shut up Leah about your high stress life. Here's a tip- if you and your three girls have to be somewhere by 3, it's a good idea to start getting ready before 2. My SIL is the same way- she'll start getting ready right around the time she's supposed to be leaving and then when people complain about her being late, she blames it on her kids. We all know the twins dress and groom themselves and fix their own breakfasts and once they're over 4 feet tall they'll prob be doing the laundry too so they don't have to go to school smelling like sweat.

I felt kind of mixed in the scene with Leah trying to get the girls ready and Jeremy not helping.  Probably because my husband would have jumped right in and helped me get the kids ready so I kind of expect that sort of behavior.  Leah driving scares me.  And it's not that hard to make sure your kids are properly buckled.  My five-year-old is still in a five point harness partly because I'm not ready to deal with him being able to easily unbuckle.  He can unbuckle it but not as easily as a seat belt and he knows he's not supposed to when the vehicle is moving. 

Janelle talking about doing Jace's laundry was hilarious.  I could just see Barb rolling her eyes to that one.  I couldn't believe when Janelle was going on about Barb tricking her.  Maybe people might believe that if we hadn't watched her going out to party all the time when Jace was a baby.  

I would never fault Kail for how she reacted when Isaac hurt Lincoln.  I felt like she did a pretty well handling a challenging situation.

I felt kind of mixed in the scene with Leah trying to get the girls ready and Jeremy not helping.  Probably because my husband would have jumped right in and helped me get the kids ready so I kind of expect that sort of behavior.

My spouse would have helped as well, if I needed it. The thing is, I don't get ready at the last minute. When our kids were younger, I always made sure I started to get ready at least two hours beforehand so I could at least be ready and then turn my attention to helping my kids getting ready. Leah waited until the time of the party to start getting ready. What the hell was she doing from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. that she couldn't at least have the girls' outfits ready to put on? Rhetorical questions since it is obvious Leah was likely taking care of her own needs or sleeping in. I don't even think Jermy cared to go to the party. His face looked like as if he didn't care. This was in December. He caught her cheating in October. Jermy may have been staying with his parents next door and was just there for filming purposes.

My favorite part of the Janelle scene with her screaming Barb tricked her was when she said, "you told me to go out!" I'm going to be honest, I don't remember that much of the first season of this show so I don't really remember. I remember vaguely the end of Janelle's 16 and pregnant episode though when she had Jace and then left him to go out to clubs and Barb pleading again to put him up for adoption and then at the end Janelle saying she was getting better at being a mom and all that stuff. I don't really remember the first episode of this show but I highly doubt that Barb told Janelle to go out. I really doubt that. Like I said, I don't remember it but I doubt it.

Going by how Jenelle hears something different each time Barb talks, I will surmise Barb told Jenelle to "straighten up or get out" and Jenelle took that to mean, "Cool, She's telling me to go out." Or, that Barb said, "Go ahead and go out. Don't come back home." Jenelle's limited hearing only heard "go out".

It was. Jenelle would go out and party all night and sleep all day. On the rare occasions when she was conscious during the day and wanted to play mommy, she'd shriek and curse at Barb for "telling her what to do with her kid", then storm off to her room, spackle some make up on while she cried to her friends on speaker and take off for another day or two.

Here's what I remember from the first episode of teen mom 2. Janelle and Barb fighting over the internet router. And then Janelle takes it into her room and locks her door. Then Janelle goes out, so I couldn't remember what happened but someone on youtube nicely put together "the worst of Janelle" montage and the clip of her holding the papers and standing outside of her house is on there. So, yeah she went out and a cop was waiting for her at the house. Either way, it wasn't a trick, Janelle.

OMG! Thank you for the youtube suggestion! I'd forgotten how absolutely revolting some of the shit she said and did was in the first couple seasons. My favorite line - "Jace doesn't need me. He has my mom"

Babs never asked Janelle to abort because janelle hid her pregnancy from Barb until it was basically too late (janelle was at 6-7 mos I think?). She did try to persuade janelle to give jace up for adoption from the get go though.

Jenelle specifically said during her 16 and pregnant episode that Barb suggested an abortion. It was when she was wearing the pink dress and pigtails, folding the baby's clothes with her friend. However, given that Barb admitted Jenelle was visibly pregnant before Barb knew (I don't believe they said how far along she was, just that Barb walked in on Jenelle naked and figured it out), it's likely Jenelle wouldn't have been able to get a legal abortion, unless she was showing really really early.

Eta: out of curiosity, I looked up abortion laws. Most states require an abortion to be performed before viability, which I I think around 24 weeks. Some states set the limit at 20. I thought it was much earlier, like 10-12 weeks max. So Jenelle could have been showing and still eligible for an abortion.
