Also it’s crazy that next week’s broadcast schedule for now is ? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Because we don't know who's playing on Saturday, or Sunday night?  At least, thank dog, there's no Thursday night abomination.

I imagine flexing must be a real PITA to actual ticketholders, some of whom, I assume, come in from out of town and have to make travel and hotel arrangements.  Not to mention team hotels.

Tomorrow night's game between Buffalo and Cincinnati looks to me like the first decent matchup MNF has had in a very, very long time.

Whined about a non call on a shove from a d lineman. Then gets up in the face of the d lineman yelling at him about it.

While I don't think there should've been a call on the lineman, the hit - albeit not a bad one - wasn't necessary.  I know that TB can be whiny, but in his and other QB's defense, isn't it the late, unnecessary hits that they're trying to curtail?  It doesn't bother me that TB yelled at the lineman either.  That kind of back and forth goes on all game long!  The lineman is tough.  He can take it, unless it hurt his feelings, then the league should step in and make sure all feelings are protected while on and off the field.  (snark intended)

It was a half shove that in no way endangered brady. No call was the right one

And I'm not concerned about the feelings of the d lineman.  Normally you just don't pick fights not only in the nfl but anywhere with people that could easily kick your whiny little ass if they had the chance without any repercussions. Brady does that because he knows he has the refs up his ass and the lineman has no choice but to ignore him and let it go.

What a day of NFL!!

Bucs clinch the NFC South with a win over the Panthers, with their offense finally coming alive and Brady throwing for over 400 yards.

Chiefs temporarily take over the #1 seed in the AFC with a win over the Broncos.

Commanders knocked out of the playoffs after losing to the Browns, they made the idiotic decision to bench Heinicke for Wentz and it blew up in their face.

Packers destroy the Vikings, and now the Packers just need to win next week’s game to get in the postseason. They are red hot and playing great right now while the Vikings had another game of looking like shit.

Niners beat the Raiders in OT and take over the #2 seed in the NFC.

Pats are now in the last AFC Wild Card slot after beating the Dolphins.

Jets have collapsed completely.

Giants clinch a playoff spot.

And my Falcons win on a last second FG against the Cards!!

What a day of football and we still have the Steelers/Ravens and Bills/Bengals to go!!

He wasn't picking a fight!  He was just blowing off some steam, just like other players do.  Players know that you don't respond to any kind of trash talking because you risk getting penalized or thrown out of the game.  It was all of 5 seconds of TB mouthing off.  The lineman did the right thing by ignoring him.  It was not a big deal! I've seen and heard much worse on the football field!

I’m sick of his crying and whining for calls.

It's no different than all of the other guys who constantly call for a pass interference penalty.  I love it when a receiver trips himself up and falls, or an opposing player bumps into him and he turns into a soccer player who then flops on the ground and pretends to writhe around in pain as if he's dying.  Talk about putting on a show for the refs!  They all do this to some degree or another.  Much ado about nothing.

If the Patriots beat the Bills next week, the Patriots are in the playoffs. That would seem like good news, but with the way the Patriots are playing, no one wants to have to watch them in the playoffs, not even Patriots fans.

If the Patriots lose, they'd finish 8-9 but still could make the playoffs with a Dolphins and Steelers loss in week 18.  I can't think of anything that would infuriate NFL fans more than the Patriots backdooring into the playoffs with an 8-9 record. Especially if they win a playoff game.

Nothing?  How about Tom Brady and the Bucs making a deep run?  Or perhaps Aaron Rodgers and the Packers if they can slide in?

In the second NFL season with 17 games, including 2 Saturday games, all games had/have a kickoff time as TBD.  The original time of "To Be Determined" is a change from past years where teams would have an early or late slot with one moving to SNF as the final flex of the regular season.

The two games moving to Saturday are Kansas City/Vegas and Tennessee/Jacksonville.  The first game could be for the AFC Top seed (Kansas City will be playing for homefield if Cincinnati wins the final MNF of the regular season).  The second game is for the AFC Title and for one of 2 remaining spots in the AFC section of the playoffs .

With Pittsburgh win at M&T Bank Stadium, a Bengals victory will result in a successful AFC North defense, which will be the first time Cincinnati would go back-to-back.  Had Baltimore won SNF, the final SNF would likely have featured the AFC North (it still could).  However, if Buffalo loses, chances are Green Bay & Detroit will be the game that gets flexed into the final game of the 2022-2023 season

Thereby tanking a lot of interest in the Sunday schedule.

Washington Post writer today said that the Giants would be well rested because they are locked into the sixth seed and don't need to play their starters on Sunday.  Has he heard of Tom Coughlin and the 2007 Giants?

Meh.  That 2007 was a different story IMO.  The Giants probably didn't want to be the 16th and final victim of 16-0.  Plus, if there was ever a "moral victory" in NFL history, that game was it.

I agree with your statement about the crushing effect in terms of the Sunday schedule, though to an extent.  Having Saturday games in the so-called "Season Finale" week sorta makes the league look hypocritical.  The 16 games on Sunday was perfect.  Last year, the Saturday stuff allowed Cincinnati to rest their best players whereas in past years, teams like Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and New England had to play simultaneously to avoid that benefit that the AFC Champions got.  The NFL isn't a fan of that benefit so having these Saturday games was an odd decision for me.

Having said that, there is still some interest for Sunday.  For a second I thought the Bengals would earn the same benefit with KC playing on Saturday, but they'll still need to beat Baltimore to either move to the 1 seed or avoid dropping from the 2 seed to the 3 seed.  And if they lose, they'll need to beat the Ravens to defend the AFC North title.

Pittsburgh probably will win at home against Cleveland.  I think they definitely will avoid a losing season to extend that mark and others in a big way.  However, they'll need help from Buffalo and the Jets.  The Bills might need to win and probably win at home against New England, whereas the Jets have nothing to play for.  However, Miami is a mess.

I basically forgot that a Seahawks win would deflate a Packers/Lions game.  So the NFL errored by putting the AFC South matchup on Saturday.  They should've waited until the conclusion of Bills/Bengals since Baltimore didn't sweep the Steelers.  Of course, if Buffalo wins then problem solved; Seattle winning would boot Detroit from the 2022-2023 season.  Green Bay is in with a win.

Finally, I just remembered that in 2017, SNF didn't happen so I could see that being the case this season if the Bills lose

I remember the Hogs.  Who are now suing the Commanders apparently over this name.  And I guess Tuddy is supposed to be slang for TD.  I read all this in an article a few minutes ago. If the mascot has to be explained.....

Apparently I need to watch  more football because I have never, ever heard a touchdown referred to as a tuddy.

Me neither, but I only started watching in the mid 1960s.

Is there nothing that franchise can't botch?  If you want to honor the Hogs, call the mascot something like the Grimm Reaper or Bugel Call.  And make the damn thing look like a hog, not an anorexic elephant with a snout.

Here's an old clip of Brady & Gronkowski saying Tuddies (which I thought was kind of dumb sounding), but I guess it's what the guys say.  I never heard that until TB and RG said it though.

Mr. Chat reminded me about that.  Now the mascot makes more sense (in a way), but I still don't like it.  You want something that looks fierce, not something you're going to butcher and eat.  Maybe they want people in the stadium to look at it and think, hmm, some BBQ would be good, and off to the concession stands they go!  ;)

The Bucs are the best of the worst in their division, but hey, we'll take it!  These come from behind victories are making us a nervous wreck!  They're going to struggle with some of these other teams if they go much farther, but here's hoping yesterday's game lit a spark in them.  And finally, Evans & TB were in sync!  About damn time!!

Mike Tomlin's best coaching job is this season. The fact that the Steelers are still in the playoff hunt is damn near miraculous.

It was good but for his best, I'm still going with his 8-8 season quarterbacked by Mason Rudolph and a guy named Duck.

The funny thing about Snyder is that local politicians are sensing his eventual departure. Both Virginia and DC have made noises about financing a new WFT stadium, which is a total nonstarter as long as he is still the owner.
