Is there a con this weekend? Seems like SA and EBR are both in LA

Looks like they’re just there to hang with their friends:

I wonder if they’ll ever tire of the jar thing.

Are EBR and SA mentioning it that much as well or is it more the rest of the group? Because I feel as though they don't put it that much on social media but I could be totally wrong.

Oh, I don’t know. I don’t follow any of them on social media, it just seems like every other post I see from this group involves a jar reference, haha.

I am not one for conspiracy theories but I swear ever since I've joined this fandom I notice they bring out EBR whenever the show is in the weeds because of plot or a character is unpopular.

Heh. Echo posted this before Thursday's episode.

SA tweet was quoted in this article about the Oscars...

Oscars 2018: Seven must-see moments

3. Jordan Peele is the first black screenwriter to win Oscar for Best Original Screenplay
...
Jordan Peele was nominated three times on the night, and won Best Original Screenplay for his work writing the intelligent, genre-twisting horror Get Out: "I stopped writing this movie about 20 times because I thought it was impossible, I thought it wasn't going to work, I thought no one was going to make this movie. But I kept coming back to it because I knew if someone let me make this movie that people would hear it, and people would see it."

In his perfectly brief but passionate acceptance speech, he also dedicated the award to everyone who "bought a ticket" to the movie, and encouraged others to see it. Actor Stephen Amell tweeted out this very good point as to why Peele more than deserved the win:

I think if the Oscar for best song went to the live show performance, I'd have agreed with CH.

Now to make an observation for the 13 year old girl in me that was snickering and pointing to the male rooster aka "cock" that both SA and CH were sucking from while EBR looks on in enjoyment.

Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks have been hyping their indie wrestling megashow All In for months now, and as of last night we finally know where it’s going to happen. Okay, well, we’ve kind of known for weeks now, as it was one of the biggest open secrets in wrestling, but now it’s officially confirmed. All In will be happening in the Chicago area at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, on Sept. 1, 2018. Yep, it’s over Labor Day weekend.

The news was announced by Arrow’s Stephen Amell in an episode of Being the Elite that went live late last night, right after the WWE show Raw went off the air. Here’s that video:

‘Riverdale’ CD David Rapaport Talks Discovering New Talent for TV
By Elyse Roth | Posted March 9, 2018, 9 a.m.

How do you cast an ensemble?
It kind of falls into place based on the way the casting works. In an ideal world, we’d cast all the roles at the same time, but most of the time it doesn’t work out that way. I really have to take a leap of faith. Sometimes we’ll do chemistry readings for love interests to make sure there’s a palpable onscreen chemistry, but a lot of times, you don’t even get to do that and actors read with a reader, usually an associate from my office. I’m piecing together the chemistry in my brain; I never quite know what’s going to happen until I get on set or see the first edit of a pilot. We read people so many times to make sure that there are no questions left unanswered so you know what to expect or what you’re going to get.

What is your role and the actor’s role in creating a new character from a pilot script?
The characters are pretty fully formed, and the writers have done such a great job presenting this pilot script and a bit of a backstory for each of them. But usually no [second] episode has been written at that point. The casting really does inform a character, and it helps to hear the auditions and go to the table reads because then the writers hear the specific voices of the actors and write to those strengths. You see a character evolve based on the actor that we cast, and I see them write to their strengths as well.
*  *  *
How do you incorporate the source material when casting characters based on a comic book that will be adapted for TV?
The most important thing in terms of my process is that the producers have said from Day 1 that these TV shows are reinventions of the source material. We’re not looking to make, necessarily, a live-action adaptation of the comic, it’s its own take. I think there are going to be similarities in terms of the look and types of people that we cast, but it’s really up to us to reinvent these characters, in a way. Luckily for me, most of the producers also write these comic books, so they know these characters in and out. They’ll come to us and say, “We’re casting Black Canary,” for example. [And] I say, “Tell me all about her. What is her essence like? Who is she to you?” I cast off of that, I don’t cast off of my own knowledge of the canon or the mythology. It’s their own enthusiasm and take on these characters, and I try to match the essence of the character described to me based on the knowledge of actors I know and who I think might be right for it.

Are there differences between casting superheroes and comic book characters for film and for TV?
I have an opportunity to discover more novice talent in television. All the superhero films out there are great. [They] all serve and support this culture, which is awesome. [But] I think, for the most part, films focus on established actors. In TV, I’m casting [up] to 15 roles a week on each show, and the actors are typically pretty unknown. They’re not household names. It gives me a chance to really discover people who are closest to the character at hand as opposed to casting them for name recognition or face recognition. It’s really about who gives the best performance, so to me it’s exciting in TV on a weekly basis to be able to really put forth the best talent I’ve been seeing.

SA Facebook post from today:

Quote

What’s up Facebook?! After a lovely two weeks at home with my family (minus 48 hours in Vegas) I’m heading back to Vancouver this evening and I’m back on set tomorrow. While I understand this page is free, I also realize that I set a particular expectation for content and for the regularity with which I post it. I also realize that as the co-founder of Nocking Point there are people expecting updates on what’s new, what’s next and what’s delayed / why it might be delayed. I FURTHER realize that there are contest winners associated with our most recent F-Cancer campaign who either haven’t received their item, or... don’t know they won something.

Most importantly... I realize that we built this page and this community in large part because I try and only post when I’m the best version of my myself. Well... recently... I haven’t felt like the best version of myself. Now... on the whole, I’m fine. I promise. I’m healthy, I’m happy and I’m pretty sure I could run a sub 5 second 40 yard dash with 10 minutes to warm up from a dead sleep at 36 years of age.

So why the absence? Simple. Sometimes life and work is a grind. Sometimes you pick at little scabs and make them worse than if you would’ve just left them alone. Sometimes your ego gets in the way. And then all of a sudden you get a moment to take a breath and you realize that maybe you haven’t disappointed your family or your friends or your co-workers... but if you’re being really honest, you’re disappointed in yourself.

I’m a particular person, which is why I can’t be mad when my daughter freaks out because I ask her to put on leggings before socks. (IT IS SOCKS FIRST, DAD!! IT IS SOCKS FIRST!) But by being a particular person - some might say, anal - please try and understand that I really do need everything in its place to feel settled. Everything has not been in its place. Thankfully, it feels like it’s starting to get back there.

This page grew from a genuine enthusiasm. I can’t fake it. I’m not that good an actor. (Insert joke - here - Charlie Hunnam fans.) Moreover, I don’t WANT to fake it.

So in that sense, I’m really happy that a scheduling miracle led to a mini break in my filming schedule. And I’m even happier that I had the wherewithal to recognize that I needed a mini break. This isn’t an “I’m back announcement... it’s simply an explanation for why I wasn’t here.

Enjoy the rest of your day everybody.

Poor guy. Honey, you have OCD* symptoms. It's okay. But you are more than "particular" when you have to make your bed before you get in it to sleep. He needs a hug and maybe meds.

I literally cannot go to sleep if my bed looks rumpled, LOL. And if my work papers aren't organized into net piles on my desk (with perfectly aligned, straight corners). I've always felt like I have OCD tendencies, but I've always resisted characterizing them that way because there are people whose symptoms prevent them from functioning and I'm nowhere near that bad. Anyway, my point is that Stephen should call me. We can commiserate, because reading his post hit a little close to home.

Well, he says in the post that he's disappointed in himself after at first blaming feeling a certain way because he thought he was disappointing others.  So even though he talks about the mini break being good, I wouldn't rule out the reason he's not happy in the first place being about why he has the mini break.

I think it reads as him signing himself up for a bit more than he can chew.   He had to film,  he a father and husband,  has conventions with things he's organized, has his wine company.   Jesus.   I haven't even made it to kick boxing or the gym or my hairdresser this week.   I think he might justbe overwhelmed and is ready for hiatus.
