Anyone watch Sin City Justice?  I liked the "gotcha" moments when the brain trauma "expert" was shown scans of a brain with lesions, and then another brain.  Expert: "No, I see no lesions on this brain".  Prosecutor: "That's the defendant's brain".  Zing.  Then the defense tried to prove the victim was asking to be beaten & sexually assaulted and was not drug free because of her hospital tox screen.  Prosecutor said they forgot to check if she'd been given morphine in the ambulance (she had).  ZING!

Yes, I was coming here to see if anyone had commented yet. OMG, where did they dig up that "expert" on brain trauma? He looked like he just crawled out of bed after a late night of drinking!

This whole thing was just so disturbing. It was obvious "War Machine" was going down big time for this. I can't imagine a jury coming back not guilty. BUT I was really upset for the guy that got the crap beat out of him due to Christy basically setting him up, if I'm understanding what happened. I hope she feels like shit for that and has begged for his forgiveness.

Yes, this obviously disturbed porn star victim was not without some serious "WTF's" from this viewer.  Complicated story, but the facts and pictures of the injuries to both victims more or less told the story.  Oh, and fuck that defense attorney who posited that "EVERYONE" would react in the same way if they found their girlfriend in bed with another man.  Um ... no.  Some people actually WOULDN'T beat another human being to a pulp.

Just found this forum and am loving reading everyone's posts. I am true ID addict and love all things true crime. Love you guys! I wanted to comment on Reasonable Doubt. I am really loving this show even though I didn't think I would after watching the first episode because I figured every case would be them finding the prisoner wrongfully convicted. I am pleasantly surprised that is  not the case. I immediately recognized the detective from The First 48 : Birmingham. I really like when murders from The First 48 show up on ID channel so I like seeing the detective in this new role. The episode I really wanted to talk about was the one where the cop was convicted for killing his mistress right before going to court for child support. I thought the wife was so weird in that episode and didn't know as much as she pretended to know. She was trying so hard to save face. Also thought the guy in the next episode that was convicted of beating his wife then pretending it was a car accident was a total jerk as was his supporters. I think he totally beat her and is covering it up.

I pretty much watch all of the shows that have been mentioned in the last 10 posts. I particularly like Reasonable Doubt. I just started watching that. Is it new?  You could tell the lady who was convicted of poisoning her husband was a real loser case.  I know it's good to have true blue friends, but, sooner or later, you have to face the facts.  It seems that with family members who commit murder, the adult children normally have trouble accepting it and they will defend the obviously guilty parent no matter how overwhelming the evidence.  I suppose it's a defense mechanism.

I did see this one episode recently, (I'm trying to recall the name of it) where the lady was convicted of 2 counts of murder, but, it was later discovered that the two things that were used were lies.  Both people admitted their testimony was not true.  Appeals with that information have not been successful.  So, even though it's now clear that this lady was convicted on false evidence, they will not give her a new trial. She has a life sentence.  I think it was in the state of Indiana.  She was a nice girl, who fell in love with a convicted felon, who she allowed to live with her, along with his two friends, who also didn't work.  She says her boyfriend shot and killed them when she was not there.  If she really didn't do it, I wonder how you live with yourself for the rest of your life, in a prison with no hope of ever being released or getting a new trial. I can't think about it too much.   I hope that some of these shows like Reasonable Doubt, will help locate any actually innocent people, who have been improperly convicted.

I believe you are talking about Sara Jo Pender.  I first saw her story on Snapped and then on ID.  I go back and forth of that one.

The story of the Pulse Night Club Massacre was just soul crushing.  Those poor survivors must be suffering extreme PTSD.  I firmly believe it was done by a self loathing gay guy who thought throwing ISIS's name would give him cover.  I don't generally watch Women Who Kill, but I'll have to hunt this one down as I would like to see how Celeste, used to the "finer" things in life courtesy of her murdered husband, is faring in prison.

I am feeling very insulted by some of these shows.  Current one is 6 Degrees of Murder.  This guy raped his victim  and left DNA, and walked in her blood barefooted.  They waited until 56 minutes in to discuss this PERFECT evidence, and disclosed it like they made a huge discovery, and us poor viewers can't understand anything as hard as forensics.  Pfft.

I really like Reasonable Doubt mainly because they try and give a little peace and closure to the friends and family who hire them. Basically they just go over the evidence with them again but in a kinder and gentler way so they can finally start grieving for their loved ones. Of course, there will always be those hey can't convince but at least they tried. Oh, I am such a softie when it comes to things like this.

OK, I am aural, rather than visual, so maybe "Hear No Evil" hits me harder than most.  But I gotta say, having heard some pretty sick shit myself in my lifetime, last night's  mostly redacted tapes found by the Secret Service looking for counterfeit cash -  made every nerve in my body recoil in horror, and then the outrage set in.  That fucking voice made me want to KILL, KILL, KILL him, and I hope that someone, somewhere is raping his ass all the livelong day (and night) demanding he tells them to describe the pain.

Another new low for me - I need more than a shower & mouthwash - not even brain bleach will erase this one.

The rest of my day will be spent cuddling cats and watching wild birds eating seeds & catfood.

Absolutely, WQ!  That was one horrific program ("Hear No Evil") last night.  Now I forget what state(s) it happened in, but no death penalty for that sick SOB?  Did I miss something?  Only solace is - as you said - someone, somewhere is raping his ass all the livelong day & night demanding he tells them to describe the pain.  shudder

He was never convicted of murder.  In fact, because he was given so much time for his convictions on other offenses, he was never prosecuted for any murders.

I just saw another show of the murder of Amina and Sarah Said by their father, Yaser Abdel Said.  He has been seen in Egypt, but his accomplice wife Patricia Said, still lives in Texas, Irving I think.  There is a $100,000 reward for this heartless POS.  (Mom should have been indicted, too!)  This is one of the worst monsters that has ever been, IMO.  Still on FBI 10 most wanted list, too.

I was watching a show, think it was Murder Calls, where a woman in Atlanta was hiding in her closet while her house was broken into.
The called was cut off, but she'd already given the information, she called back, but the intruder came in and killed her.
Was got me was what seemed like an awful long time for police to get there, and then they had to call the emts, because she was still alive at that point.
Surely they'd start at least the police, as soon as the address is registered, and when they shot was heard, emts should have been coming.
Maybe it was just the reenactment, but I couldn't believe how long it took.  It was Fulton Cy., GA.
And OT-we were discussng celebrity cruises on My Big Fat Fabulous Life, and someone posted a place that lists them.

I was blown away earlier this week when I saw for the first time Disappeared A Special about missing person, (found dead later) Kelly Nash from Georgia.  This is one of the more interesting cases.  I'm all for keeping an open mind and sometimes, you have to accept facts, but, I have so many questions about this one.  If anyone else saw it, please chime in. There's no point in listing my questions, if no one else is familiar with the case.  Here's a link to refresh your memory.

I guess my primary concern is how does a gun disappear from a suicide scene if no one moved it? Guns don't float, right?

Yeah, right.  If the facts warrant suicide, then so be it, but, there were so many things that didn't make sense.  Like, finding the body, which had drifted from the shore, but, it was near a place where dogs hit on soon after he went missing.  They searched then with equipment and didn't find body or gun.  Later, fisherman found the body, but, no gun.  Not in the water, near the edge, etc.  Just curious about that.  That, and some other odd things that don't add up.  I sure hope that they didn't wrap that case up too quick.  Basically, everything known about that evening came from his girlfriend.  I read that her ex-husband also committed suicide.  Just questioning.

I don't know if this was a murder mystery that I read or watched, or a real case, but there was one where the suicide person held the gun on a rope or string or elastic or something, then when the dead hand dropped it, it flew out an open window.

Saw this last night, auntjess, and it really shook me up. Hearing the actual calls just makes it so much more harrowing. I couldn't watch any more true crime last night after I saw that. I needed a palate cleanser!

I can't imagine being the 911 operator that was on the phone with her when she was killed. What was up with that system anyway? First the call gets cut off, and then the recording malfunctions, not that I wanted to hear it anyway. What we heard was enough. It's miracle the other lady survived! She was a real inspiration and added a much-needed uplifting element.

This just hits so close to home because, a, it could happen to anyone, but, b, oftentimes I'm in my pj's the minute I hit the door, and I don't answer the door unless I'm expecting someone. And I always thought my dogs would scare anyone off anyway, but it sounds like the lady that died had a big dog in the house and it didn't deter the burglars at all. Just locked it in another room!

I've been thinking about getting a Ring doorbell, but after seeing this, I am seriously going to look into it so no one thinks I'm not home just because I don't answer the door!

That was the one where there was ONE crew of thieves, and they hit something like 200 homes in one neighborhood, right?  Why weren't any of these people armed?  Surely the news was carrying the stories of the ongoing break-ins?  She should have been waiting in the closet with her 12-gauge at the ready!

I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to Kenda and McFadden. I found Kenda's stories pretty boring and quit DVRing them a long time ago. I'm finding McFadden to be hit and miss as well but still giving it a chance. I think their personalities are a lot more interesting than their storylines.

I really like like a lot of the shows like Fatal Vows, Murder Among Friends, Reasonable Doubt, Hear No Evil, and some others.  I haven't been impressed with The Real Story with Maria Elena Salinas. She just seems to be reading a lot and it doesn't catch my attention.

With Kenda.  I'm on the fence.  I do like him, but, sometimes, his voice gets old.  lol  I can take it in small doses.  I do like the actor who plays the young Kenda. He's quite attractive, imo.

Murder Among Friends

This one always gives me the creeps.  Watched the back-to-back episodes last night, both of which (maybe all of these episodes really??) involved complete mob mentality and they all take part in the murder in some respect.  The second episode with the love triangle - I mean, what level of evil do you have to be to think: "oh this girl lied about stuff to us, so let's carve her up with box cutters and smash her head in with a cinder block!"  And none of them thought, hmmm, why don't we just kick her out of the house??  Sick.

I just watched this so I looked it up. I think that the reenactment made it seem like forever but it wasn't. At least, none of the articles mentioned it.

A security guard saw the "crew" running away from the scene. The article mentioned that he was on extra alert and told the police immediately.

It also said that the 911 guy was traumatized and quit. He now owns an auto parts store.

We are the champions ...

The ID Wines (whines?) names reminds me of the classic Monty Python sketch about  "Foine Australian table wines".

Young Kenda wine has a bouquet reminiscent of cigarettes and semi-hot sex.

Old Kenda wine is like a much beloved bloodhound past his prime - jowly, with sad rheumy eyes, bad hair, and maybe a little smelly, but the kids don't want to see him sent to the farm upstate (and neither do I!).  Good for cooking & washing down microwaved pasta leftovers.

I Am Homicide wine needs a lot more ageing in the barrel, because it is brash, trash talks all other wines, wears a shiny suit,  and is altogether too full of itself; and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Keith Morrison wine is my idea of a perfect nightcap - rich, smooth, and with dulcet undertones ... YUM!

This is a PSI: Don't hide in the freakin closet if an  intruder breaks in because they always look into the closets. Hide under the bed, and if you have to much crap under there......    CLEAN IT OUT!!!!!!

I also couldn't believe that the 911 operator didn't dispatch the emts with the police, he/she clearly the gunshots.  Maybe it was just for dramatic purposes.

I was frustrated by the whole episode, yes why weren't the police dispatched sooner? How did those big beautiful houses not have better security systems? With the burglaries rampant in those adjacent neighborhoods where was the police investigation, why did two women have to get shot before a full-on investigation, and why weren't the residents aware of the danger?  Both of the victims called the police right away, but the only place they had to hide was a closet with no escape route.
