Brownstone.Muir, I have no doubt Sherri wanted this surrogate baby back when they did it.  With her screwy idea of the woman's role in marriage being to please her husband, she wanted it if for no other reason than he really wanted that son.  I also kinda think that in her Christian role, she's totally confused on what those Biblical verses mean.

 

Except for the fact that Sherri has been talking about wanting another baby since the day she first joined The View. I remember that she used to talk about the embryos she had on ice, from when she and the first husband went through IVF. She's always talked about wanting another baby, long before she ever met Sal. And, after that she's been talking about finding a surrogate for years.

 

I will never believe that  Sherri is some little innocent who was talked into arranging for a surrogate baby and defrauded by Sal. Total bullshit. She was a full participant in the decision to have a baby via surrogate and she spent a lot of time and money arranging for it. She cannot rewrite history now just because she's divorcing Sal.

I agree, Sherri has always wanted another child - before and after this marriage. She was very concerned about her uterus and looking for a drama free uterus long before it happened they found one. Even in their pre-marriage interview on the show Sal made it very clear it would be a boy.

I think it's possible to have wanted a baby with someone and to be a victim of fraud or a con at the same time. It's called thinking your partner married you for love, life and companionship and discovering they never really loved you at all. That's hardly a defense against child support, though. Otherwise men who find out they aren't their child's biological father would be free and clear of child support obligations and they rarely ever are.

Reading those articles it sounds so foolish when they speculate that Sal wanted this baby as a meal ticket. Any true gold digger would have waited until the baby was born before starting proceedings. Sal was the first one to file. I think something happened that we don't know about, either in California whey they went looking for gigs, or when Sherri went to Atlanta to hang out with the Housewives.

 

Honestly, I don't know how those events will be able to stay private unless there is some kind of settlement. Although, the stories that come out will probably be conflicting so who knows what the truth is.

Yes, Sal probably wanted to wait until after the birth or maybe even wanted to remain married, and continue living his comfortable life style with Sherrie (while pursuing his side activities). The longer he stayed connected to Sherrie the more time he had to make professional connections, which could have led to jobs for him ( tho I'm still not convinced he is as good as he thinks he is). It would have been more palatable to his Mom, society and kept him in a nice situation. But something happened on that Spring trip to California and sherrie found something out which changed everything.

P.s. Googling "divorce during surrogacy" brings up some interesting articles and material to read if you've got a little time to kill.

If Sal had waited until the baby was born to initiate divorce proceedings, wouldn't it have probably been more difficult for him to get custody of the child? I think the prenup states that Sherri would get custody of the child.

I absolutely 100% agree with this.  Sherri was relatively unknown before she was hired by the View.  It was after she made her infamous "the world is flat" remark that people knew who she was.  Most of her "fame" has come from her the ridiculous/stupid/obnoxious behavior.  Which is why I think she is so desperate for a reality show.  In her mind being "zany" or "outrageous" keeps you in the news. She could support herself with a career acting in small roles and doing comedy dates but she wouldn't get a lot of attention from the tabloids and ET and people wouldn't be discussing her so much on social media. 

 

Sherri IMO has become one of those celebs who has stopped caring about their "craft" and only caring about the fame.  I think if someone offered her a choice between a role in a movie with a respected director or a chance to be a guest on one of Real Housewives series I think she would choose the reality show.

I don't know what's in the prenup, but that's a good question. And I sure don't think filing before the birth proves he wasn't a gold-digger after all. Whether the child is inside or outside the womb, someone is going to be paying child support and that someone is undoubtedly the one with the highest income (or, in Sherri's case, the only income).

Yes; weaves are expensive, particular the high quality weaves. Add into that the cost of someone installing them for you, it can be a lot of money. Many people do it themselves at home to cut the costs.

My guess is Sherri wore the wig over the weave last week. She probably had a great stocking cap that was able to flatten her head/hair as much as possible. But that is just a guess.

Sherri most likely had her weave redone because the hair braids underneath were loose (from new hair growth) so you go in to get your hair washed, conditioned, rebraided, and then the weave sewn on.

Personally, I think she looks nice in the pic above.

Her obsession with Kim K has less to do with Kim's "talents" and more to do with how many Twitter/Instagram followers she has. It's more about popularity with Sherri; something I genuinely believe is what Sherri is after. And her begging for an invite to Kim and Kanye's wedding was bizarre, like maybe she thought being there would boost her chances for ...something.

Popularity is short-lived. Talent will last longer much longer.  As long as Sherri was employed by the View she had a lot more opportunities to make money because she was on a network talk show five days a week.   Without that I don't see her "popularity" lasting for very long.  And honestly I think with Sherri it was more name recognition than popularity.

LS may very well have originally planned to stick it out with Sherri until the birth but...his game just wasn't that tight.

Yeah, I posted over the weekend that she tweeted about getting her weave done for the concert. And, when I looked it up, they were playing in Oakland on Saturday.

 

I saw today that she posted some tweets and pics about being up on stage. Again, I see this mom doing so many more fun things for herself than I see her doing with her son. All she does is complain about about having to sit through a track meet a few times. I'd love to know what outings and adventures she takes her son on.

Oh I don't doubt she was willing:willing,eager, desperate even. I think Sherri went into this in good faith. HE'S the one with the agenda.

The only way he was gonna get paid is the baby route. Obviously he knew he couldn't or never planned to stick it for the long haul (Lamar ain't Steadman and Sherri ain't Oprah) so child support is his money shot.

And Sal is a total jerk for jerking people around about the baby. I'm glad he got just 5 gifts from his registry  at Target and Babies R Us.....although not for the baby.  He has also jerked people around about new jobs (LOL), opportunities and exciting things are going to happen....stay tuned....and then nothing.

 

But Sherri chose him and married him after less than a year while having a bi-coastal relationship....and not figuring out he was jobless. And has been for years...and a shaky career to begin with.

They are still taping this week, through Thursday 08-07-14. Next week are all pre-taped shows, likely with the intro "a special edition of The View". Then it's 4 weeks (weeks of the 18th, 25th, 1st, and 8th) until Season 18 starts on 09-15-14.  That's been the taping pattern for almost a decade now.

 

I wonder what their rerun selection will be.  The post-Barbara shows have bordered on cringeworthy, so finding "best of" from that timeframe might be a challenge.  Maybe we will get an amazing surprise and get a press release this week announcing that each of the 4 weeks will re-air shows from the entire 17 years of the show, including rebroadcasts of the first episode all the way through the Barbara Farewell Show.

Any bets on what's Sherri's "big announcement" will be?  I think we can rule out anything related to the baby since she has been radio silent on that subject.  Maybe she has something new she is endorsing?  Maybe she has finally been given that much hoped for reality show?  Or OMG, maybe she has consulted with God and he has told her stay put on the View?  Maybe she has deluded herself into thinking her departure was a choice and not a demand and she can stay.
