Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

Shitty parents, thy names are Jill and Dave.

They probably ate more food in a day than their kids get in a week.  They should have taken that $500 and filled their fridge and pantry.  Those poor starving kids.

This is where I always see how terrible the rod kids have been cheated in life. We just went to Epcot with our son and family last week. The Rod children are cheated not only of knowledge of the world, but also of having interest in various things. Jill proudly posted Phillip and his 7 nations spiel a few years back. They have no idea continents aren't nations.

On our adventure, tween kids needed to collect the cards and stamps from each nation because they love geography.  Oldest grand and I went on our own to the "An American Adventure" thing because that child wanted to go, is all about Hamilton and is in a year of american history at school.

We started the day with buying crepes in France at 8am for the one that really wanted one, then later giant pretzels, then gelato and then more crepes before exiting epcot...

But the kids all had their own things of interest in the world of Epcot because they know about the world.

(Son and DIL brought us along because they are outnumbered and have a wide age range of kids)

So Jill got a special trip to Epcot with lots of food. I bet her hurt feelings are better now. She's not nearly over the insult of losing the cruise, but at least she's a little better. That's all that matters in the world.

Meanwhile, the Rodlets and Cinnamon get whatever Nurie and  Nathan can manage.

Jill will certainly claim all of the children told her she deserved it.

Oh, for god sake’s. These two middle-aged, overweight people went to Epcot? Everyone knows these are things geared towards children, not crazy parents only with a ton of children left behind. Damn they make me mad. If you can’t take your kids to a child friendly place, then like someone else said, stock up your pantry and start making healthy food for your kids. Or at least make any food at all. And don’t buy any more dogs.

Why does Jill’s hair always look dirty? It’s not like she’s out running or doing manual labor. That one time on the bus she was complaining about how dirty it was because she hadn’t washed it in two days. What a load of bull. I can go a week without washing my hair, but sometimes that’s pushing it if it’s warm and I sweat at all. And my hair never looks anything like that greasy, dirty, dark rooted mop she has on her head.

She missed that cruise and is seething that should didn't go. WE called it that she would get something special to sooth her for not being able to go.

Epcot isn't cheap and I get you can't bring all the kids. So you know what good parents would have done? Planned something for everyone. No, they get Epcot, sushi and nice hotel and pool while her children swim in drainage ditches. She wont' even buy them coffee!

She wasted no time spending her money. Plexus stated that funds would be deposited into their accounts by 3/1. Hers apparently came a little early.

Credit card, presuming they can use the money to pay it off.   Because heaven forbid Jill have to wait an extra second to get what she wants.

This is why they always have to grift, money comes in and goes out on stuff to make Jill  happy just as fast.

Sure, Jill. Hanging out with Hunk at a theme park is just as good as that four-day cruise with the beaches, buffets, and the glitterati of the Plexus world. Her poor family has a long, hard task ahead of them trying to make Best Mama Ever feel better. They know the drill.

From what Jill said, (I know she can't be trusted) Plexus sent them to Epcot.  There is no way that $500 covered a hotel and food for 4 days there, so maybe that did happen.  I don't know.  No matter, she and Dave went.  She only posted one day of their time there so she could be stretching the 4 days stay.  Regardless, she is ALL happy and joyful again and ready to tell everyone how grateful she is.  Whew.  Meanwhile, her kids are all crammed into Nurie's home or the RV and have had one hot dog 3x a day.  (Or maybe a slice of pizza.)

I bet they saw things they were offended by.

I thought so, too. What gives?

They could have taken the whole family to a cheap-ish water park for the day. (Like the one in Myrtle Beach they went to in December WITHOUT most of the kids . . . 🤬).

Jill (and David) are beyond horrible parents.  She's cruel enough to FaceTime the children she claims to love so much, and rub their noses in all the fun Precious Mama is having, while they're probably eating next to nothing.

Such a F**king Bitch!

If Plexus comped the losers with trips to Epcot, they would've said so in their blurbs about the trip.  Instead, Plexus touted the 500 buck bonus for those shut out.  I think Jill did use the $500 for Disney, but conveniently neglected to mention how much of their own funds were needed to supplement that amount and soothe Mahmo's hurt fweelings.

It costs a minimum of $109 per person per day to get into Epcot.  That doesn't count the add-ons like Lightning Lane that give priority to shorten wait times.  Nor any food, of course.  From the photos, it's obvious they didn't use Nathan and Nurie's place as a base, but, instead paid for at least one night, probably two, to stay in a hotel.  Nathan and Nurie live within driving distance of Disney World, and it would've been perfectly reasonable to take a day trip to Epcot and return and sleep for free at their place.  Even a 2 day trip to Epcot would've busted the Plexus budget.  If they really spent 4 nights in a hotel, they spent at least twice that.

This was no low budget endeavor and, even if they only went to Epcot for a day, I seriously doubt the whole $500 was enough.  Instead, David and probably the married kids, had to step forward to buy Mama enough stuff to shut her up and avoid further drama.  You just know she got a baseball bonnet and a sweatblouse from Epcot. Sweatshirts run about $70, caps about $30 at Disney.

I was looking at the crowd in her videos. Just as you would expect, young families with strollers, families with teenagers, and for the fireworks there seemed to be a lot of teenagers in groups watching. I’m sure there were a few older couples enjoying their time as well. But they were probably retired and didn’t have a shit load of kids at home.

David took a video of Jill from behind. I don’t like to body shame anyone (but here I go for this one), her arms are very chunky, and her rear end is pretty wide. As she strolls around looking for more and more food. And I wouldn’t say anything about it except that you know how the children look. The skinniest arms you’ve ever seen. Adult daughters, barely fitting into a size small. If she fed her children, and they looked healthy I would give her the benefit of the doubt. She’s probably menopausal and the weight doesn’t come off very easily anymore. And that opens up the whole other can of worms that she has no business selling a health product, geared a lot towards weight loss, when she can’t get a handle on herself.

Epcot is for all ages while Magic Kingdom is more for kids.  Epcot sells alcohol in the countries area  ( at least).   So there are adults who do go there for the day.  However Jill and Dave spent considerably  more than $500 even if they came home each night.   $500 for one day for two people would be difficult if you include meals and t-shirts (blouses).  It was ill advised to do this trip - especially since she was just crying  about ‘business up and downs’.   Responsible small business owners tighten their belts during those down times and put money away during up times.

I hope all those people who give them money because they are so needy see this. How many of them go to Disney?

Jill is her own worst enemy because she has to gloat about her vacations and possessions in a very public way. She should keep her mouth shut and her camera in the purse, but that's never going to happen.

She's hopelessly immature, needy, and spoiled. I bet her sisters were thrilled  when she married the Hunk and moved away.

I'm actually glad Jill can't stop herself from gloating and showing off.  I hope it educates all her marks eventually and puts her out of the grifting business.

Well, they only gifted at 3 churches during this current sojurn. That's way down from prior years. So maybe churches ARE seeing the real Jill.

How does this cruise thing work?  Do you get to sign up in priority from the top levels down, and there was no room for people at Jill's level, or did Jill just assume she was going to go and turn her intent to attend too late?

Maybe Jill is even too Jill for her fellow Plexus pushers.

I don't think the people that Jill grifts from care about her spending. They see a devoted christian mother of 13 who deserves to pamper herself. This is the crowd who will defend and forgive a pastor for raping a child. This is the crowd who worships a cheetos. They don't have a moral compass.

Words from Renee:

“I love my family so much! ❤️  My siblings and I have been given so much by being raised in a home founded on the KJV Bible and godly principles. Our childhood memories are filled with love, laughter, and peace. Although someday we will each be on a different path and living different lives, I pray that no matter where life takes us, we will stay faithful and true to God and His Word, in which our parents gave a lifetime teaching to us. I pray that the union and harmony that God offers will always bring us closer together, defeating all our foes. 🙏🤍

If she doesn't publicly post about them, no one would know how extra special she is.  It's part of the narcissism.   All the attention.   Also knowing other people know about all your material things helps fill the void.   It's ALL external with Jill despite her claims of being so dogly (which is internal).

Goes along with - other people comment to her how godly and chaste her children are.   External validation of what she does.

Also the persecution - others are jealous of me.  Satan has focused on me specifically (really a can of BEANS Jill?) External.

I bet most of the Rod kids will raise their own families as they were raised. they will continue to be a mini Jill Rodriguez.

And watching David devour delicious sushi while his kids are starving is something else. I bet Jill showed her kids the food and everything in pictures and videos and her kids had to act excited!

David is as bad as Jill. they both are terrible parents.

I'm sure that goes for many of the people Jill grifts from.  Also I think not all the people who have given to her in the past and currently fall into that camp.  It's the ones who do care that Jill is grifting for herself and not feeding or treating her children well will stop contributing.  That's one of the reasons people pass rather quickly through her life and they have to change churches frequently.

Renee's post shoes that Jill was NOT okay about being left off that cruise. She needed more public pampering, and it was Renee's turn to comply.

Jill is pathetic.

I think Jill might’ve also gotten a bit of heat when, just days after lamenting their economic situation, she and Dave are living it up at Epcot without their kids.  She would’ve deleted those posts but probably jumped on Renee to post about her idyllic childhood as a response to those who commented on her selfishness.

Those Epcot posts were in her stories, so they went away quickly enough. She may have still received pushback though. You can reply to the pictures, just not publicly.

I think people would still roll their eyes, but not care that much about her grifting if her children looked healthy. She presents the dichotomy of sick looking children versus healthy parents enjoying vacations. Remember that family in California that had a lot of starving, tied up children, while the parents would go on vacation?

Oh man, Papa Keller. It certainly doesn’t sound like he’s been taking care of his diabetes. A blood sugar of 500 is extremely dangerous. I have a now adult child diagnosed with type 1 at nine years old. It is a roller coaster ride and you have to be on top of it every minute. I didn’t like the sound of whoever that was saying that he was now on insulin. Obviously he should’ve been on it for a long time with all the damage to his foot.
