Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

I swear I use every makeup under the sun to NOT look like Jill. All that shit around her eyes drives me crazy. My eyes tend to water a lot with allergies, so that stuff would be running down my face five minutes after I put it on. I would love to see her made down. She’s pretty, she just needs to do a straight hair, and a light make up.

OK, WTF is going on in that drink video? I swear she had a container of grease, blended it, and then added powder and drank it.

Too much cute denim.

Are Mennonite dresses in style now?  I don't think I have ever seen anyone besides a Mennonite lady wear that style.  It doesn't seem that that yellow dress would have a very wide customer base.

Neither have I.

Maybe in her circle they are big?

Meeting?   Did Jill lose out on another grift opportunity?

She must be in full sulk mode.   Can you imagine the scramble to pack everyone up now that Jill has decided only an immediate vacation will make her happy.

Jill won't care if anyone else has what they need as long as she has her wardrobe and accessories on the RV.  If nothing else, the rush to pack will allow her to prioritize herself and provide more space for her stuff.

She had to make her requisite stop at Amy's while visiting The Turtlenecks.  She posted a photo of Amy, Ma, and some of the daughters.  The personal touch is calling Amy "Bame-a-Lame", whatever the eff that means.  Then she states that is Amy's nickname to Jill?!  This woman can't even get nicknames correct.  How has she raised 13 children?  Oh, wait, she didn't.

So I guess this missed “meeting” is the cruise? As it is she said she’s going to be gone for a month! Oh boy, I hope they’re not at the Nemo’s (whoever made that up I love it) the whole time.

Her taste in plus size clothes is no better than anything else. She paired a brown floral skirt with a blue sweater. Shouldn’t there be at least one tiny bit of blue in that skirt for it to match?

I’m confused about Amy‘s condition. Jill actually did a # for car accident and quadriplegic. Yeah, I really want to link to those! But I saw Amy waving and both arms were moving at some point. Doesn’t that make her a paraplegic?

Jill speaking Spanish word by edited words is priceless. She th n posted the Plexus invite to the Spanish speakers meeting. Why attempt Spanish at all if there's already something written in Spanish?

As usual,she makes no sense.

That was comical - Jill says don't laugh at me and then "any spanish speakers will laugh me to scorn", whatever that means.

I have been working to learn Spanish for the past year and I know I am weak on listening and speaking skills. I figured Jill would speak slowly and maybe I could follow what she said. But nope, even with Jill's cuts to repeat each word from an app it made no sense.

She also could not decide her accent. It seemed to change from some type of german accent to maybe asian (?).

Good Lord her hashtags on that ##accidentresult ##quadriplegia ##Warriorforchrist

While her children are routinely shown not wearing seat, belts, Nurie/Nathan ticketed for child not in a car seat. Gideon shown in a forward facing seat and some times in just the carrier part of the car seat with no base in the Rod family van.🤦‍♀️

Their disregard for common sense safety is well documented.

Am I crazy or is the outfit that Hannah is modeling not the same thing that is for sale?

She is wearing a vibrant blue dress, and a purple feather thing in her hair. When you do the close-up to see the sizes, the dress is grayish with a pattern in it, and the feather is brown. WTH?

By the way, Hannah has turned into the new Nurie. Except for the very messed up eyebrows that Nurie has, they are looking very very much alike.

She’s also selling the green dress! The ones she wore for Tim’s (?) wedding. Size large. Apparently not much sentimental attachment to it.

Oh, and poor Philip is home. They are both reading a book about the brain and supplements. Please tell me they have two copies and aren’t sitting on each other’s laps reading together.

Mother and son are reading a book about the brain and supplements?  Is it actually a thick Plexus pamphlet?  And why Philip?  I can think of no actual reason why Jill would want to read anything, let alone a buddy read with one of her kids.  I hope this isn't Jill trying to "fix" her son because he's strayed a bit too far.

Amy has very limited movement of her arms due to the spinal cord injury.  That makes her a quadriplegic even though she can do some things.  She has almost no fine motor skills in her hands, for example.  She couldn't pick up a coin off the table or hold a fork or use a pen without adaptive devices.

Jill says he has a “brilliant brain”.

Here’s a screenshot from the video, where Jill’s brilliant brain doesn’t know how to take a picture.

Dr. Amen is regarded as a snake oil salesman with a lot of unproven treatment techniques and he peddles dietary supplements. Perfect person for Jill to admire.

He's lumped in with Dr. Phil, Dr. Drew, and Dr. Oz as a "celebrity doctor".

I am not surprised in the slightest by that.

At any rate, Jill couldn’t afford to get treatment of any kind from him. Grifting wouldn’t help, either.

Thanks for the info on this guy. It tracks that Jill has somehow heard of him and believes what he has to say.

Let’s just hope that Philip doesn’t start to lose weight again as he is undoubtedly being loaded up with supplements (plexus).

I'm not speculating he has ADHD, I don't know but I do seem to remember some talk of a mother who said plexus cured her kids ADHD. Does anyone remember that?

I don't remember that, but people have made all kinds of specious claims regarding Plexus. So yeah, it wouldn't surprise me.

It most likely is.   Which rather than get him some real help, she will try "supplements" and screeching at him.

HE WAS OUT.   Poor kid got dragged back in.

Phillip is called studious and brilliant by his mama when his thoughts align exactly with his mama and daddy's thoughts.

Any independent thought would be called following false doctrine, being a so called christian, modern christian or whatever.

We saw this when he bolted for Oklahoma (I think that's where he was). Jill was all FALSE DOCTRINE!!!! during that time.

This is probably why Kaylee and Nutie sent those Best Mams poems.

The Redditor also added that Jill was invited to  FB group for huns who missed the trip. She started complaining there and was rebuked by the mods. She's such a sore loser loser when things don't go her way.

she's SO PERSECUTED!!!!!

No. "Quadriplegia is a pattern of paralysis — which is when you can’t deliberately control or move your muscles — that can affect a person from the neck down. Depending on how and why it happens, it can affect your ability to move parts of your body, as well as some of your body’s automatic processes that keep you alive." https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/symptoms/23974-quadriplegia-tetraplegia

Also, "Incomplete quadriplegia. This means that the quadriplegia blocks some — but not all — signals from getting through. That means a person might still have some ability to move, feel sensations or control automatic body processes (such as bowel and bladder function). This happens with about one-third of traumatic spinal cord injuries.

Complete quadriplegia. This means whatever causes the quadriplegia blocks all signals from getting through. That means a person loses muscle control, the ability to feel sensations and their brain can’t manage any automatic processes that rely on brain signaling to work. This happens with about 20% of spinal cord injuries." (same source)

I had an uncle who had quadriplegia from a herniated disc in his neck (his wife said at the C1 level). He could feed himself using special cutlery, and he could take the top off his Pepsi bottle if it was loose, but he could not turn himself over in bed or take care of his own toileting. He could not walk, and I don't think he could propel his own wheelchair.

Topic: Jill is tone-deaf like no other.

So in that one small space alone I count 5 things that need to be plugged in.  And is that a candle on top of the machine on the left?  I guess a simple Mr. Coffee machine is far too plebian for Jill's sophisticated palate.

My guess is that anything that befalls any of her children is taken care of by Plexus, prayer, and maybe a book that affirms what she already believes.  And if none of those things fixes the issue, she takes a vacation because parenting is soooo hard.
