Rickster August 31 Share August 31 There’s something seriously wrong when the US Open is starting matches after midnight. It can’t be good for the players, most of the fans go home and I’m not staying up to watch. I’ve thought for years they need a curfew like some of the other majors. 8 Link to comment
Salacious Kitty August 31 Share August 31 I stuck it out until the end of the Zverev match that lasted until about 11:30 my time. I can't believe people stayed until 2:30! Yikes. 2 Link to comment
Carey August 31 Share August 31 Please don't tell me Zverev is still alive. Of course, you can feel free to tell me that he isn't 2 Link to comment
Crashcourse August 31 Share August 31 When Alcaraz lost, Djoker probably thought he had this in the bag and on his way to another Slam victory. Wrong! 😝 2 4 Link to comment
Medicine Crow September 1 Share September 1 Trying to watch the Fritz/Ruud match on TSN was an exercise in futility!!! Kept going to commercial & defaulting to Demitrov/Rublev match. What lousy coverage!! I gave up!! 2 Link to comment
Carey September 1 Share September 1 I have yet to try YouTube Television in Canada, but I'd probably record a match and wait for it to conclude. That way I'd avoid all the nonsense 1 Link to comment
Harry24 September 1 Share September 1 Don’t know if this will be helpful, but I’m a DirectTV user, and at 7:15 this evening, they engaged in a blackout with ESPN. So I checked out what other services are streaming the USO, and YouTube TV is offering a free 21-day trial, so I went for that, and the broadcast is now up on my TV. 2 1 Link to comment
roseha September 2 Share September 2 @Harry24 that's such incredible timing, Disney pulls this every year getting into a dispute with some cable or other service during the US Open and settling just in time for football season. Last year ESPN was blacked out on Spectrum cable and I took out a Sling subscription to tide me over. Just so annoying that they pull this all the time! 2 2 Link to comment
Salacious Kitty September 3 Share September 3 I didn't think Fritz had it in him. Thanks for knocking out that SAing asshole. 1 1 4 Link to comment
Carey September 4 Share September 4 Quote Zverev is gone!!! Oh thank god For a second, I thought of copying the GIF NUguy514 posted up thread (to celebrate), but that's a waste of data over a glorified loser that could have won everything. Whew! Link to comment
Harry24 September 4 Share September 4 My first thought when Popyrin beat Djok was, “Oh, thank goodness. Now I won’t even be tempted to root for Zverev.” So it was with a light heart today that I freely and happily rooted against Zverev. Thank you, Fritz. I don’t like you either, but I’m glad you won, and appreciate you took out the abuser. 1 1 Link to comment

Crashcourse September 4 Share September 4 Ugh. I hate that Nick Kyrgios is now commentating and interviewing players at the US Open. I know he has a podcast (that I've never listened to and never will) but I'm sorry he's now part of the tv tennis family. 10 Link to comment
I Want My MBTV September 4 Share September 4 I can't stand Kyrgios as a player but I begrudgingly do like him as a commentator and wouldn't mind if he stayed doing that and never returned as a player! :-) I find his commentary insightful and he doesn't just talk to talk. I've been very surprised by my lack of annoyance with him! 6 1 Link to comment

TVbitch September 5 Share September 5 Nick also turned up on a Gordon Ramsey cooking competition and another program I was watching from AU, so I think "TV personality" is his next career. Happy for Pegula! 3 Link to comment

But I can't listen to him without thinking that he pled guilty to domestic assault. Why should he get this job over what I'm sure are a slew of other promising tennis alumni who could also do a great job and have never assaulted their partners? 3 Link to comment
Spunkygal September 6 Share September 6 Trying to find a free way to watch since DirecTV has a contract dispute with ESPN, Disney. I really wanted to watch Tiafoe tonight. 1 Link to comment
TVbitch September 6 Share September 6 Hi Spunky! Online sportsbooks legally offer live streaming on most all sports. PM me if you want a link to the one I use which is streaming the match. I'm not sure I can post it. You'll want to turn off the chat function, cuz it will drive you nuts! 1 Link to comment

mojoween September 7 Share September 7 Matthew McConaghey is from Texas? Confused why he is doing the voiceover and not a New Yawker. Link to comment
Carey September 9 Share September 9 Maybe several know the reason, but otherwise, and IMO, I'd like to see the US Open moved up one week (if not 2). Okay finals this weekend but I'm not sure who saw the outcomes and how many Link to comment
TVbitch September 9 Share September 9 Sinner was hitting the ball so hard I could not help but think maybe Taylor should get a referral to Sinner's massage therapist. 😉 I didn't really get into many of the matches this year. The finals were pretty much forgone conclusions. I find putting only the men's final on network TV offensive -to the women but also to tennis in general. Same for the Olympics. I did not see one match, even though I watched a lot of it. 1 1 Link to comment

I'm sorry, I don't know how I forgot this. I agree he should not get any kind of job in the spotlight. There are plenty of other qualified people that would be just as good. It's not just ESPN he's done broadcasting for tennis for other networks including for the BBC for Wimbledon. Unfortunately tennis has not shown to make great choices when it comes to how it treats domestic violence. Exhibit 1 - Zverev. 6 Link to comment
roseha September 9 Share September 9 Chris Eubanks was doing a fine job as the commentator on site at the Fritz/Tiafoe semi, he would be great as a full time commentator instead of Kyrgios for instance. In fact he would be an improvement over Chris Fowler who I suspect is reading most of his comments from a script. 5 Link to comment

NUguy514 October 10 Share October 10 Rafa, you and Roger elevated the sport of tennis around the world. You two are the GOATs and my OTP. I'll miss watching you play; tennis will not be the same without you. Go take care of your body, and enjoy your retirement. 7 1 Link to comment

Haven't been around these parts in a long time but had to come back to old stomping grounds after the announcement. I'm okay. As I said once before, I'm a fairly practical person so I look at it as Rafa himself said in the video - everything has a beginning and an end. And as he also said, he leaves knowing he gave everything. And as fan, there's nothing more I could have asked for. He's earned that retirement. Edited October 12 by truthaboutluv 5 1 Link to comment
Crashcourse Wednesday at 02:03 AM Share Wednesday at 02:03 AM Rafa's emotional farewell at Davis Cup. It was beautiful, and I loved the farewell from the other tennis greats at the end. 2 1 Link to comment
