I had to turn the channel!  Horrible screaming over each other and loud cackling!  For God's sake why did Nicolle stand up and then scream even louder?!  Mute and FF, then tried again, same thing..I think I am done.  Whoopi is a hot mess and her voice has escalated several registers from her normal baritone.  Is she aware of the awful before and after transformation.

I've been "The View" free since RO left and I feel so much better. I only watched the opening once to see it without RO.

To be honest, I'm not sure why I even felt I couldn't miss this show before.

Now it is so clear that it sucks an hour out of our lives and more time on this board (although this board is great to snark on the show!)

Amy Schumer?     Was it The View where the panelists were discussing her and said that her father is Chuck Schumer?  I've been a fan of Amy's for quite awhile and had never heard that.  Finally looked it up today and Wikipedia says:

Schumer was born on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York, the daughter of Sandra (née Jones) and Gordon Schumer, who owned a baby furniture company. She has a younger sister, Kimberly, who is a comedy writer and a producer,[ and a brother, Jason Stein, who is a musician in Chicago, Illinois. Gordon is a cousin of U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer, making Amy Schumer and Chuck Schumer first cousins once removed. Her great-grandmother, Estelle Schumer, was a bootlegger in Manhattan.

For God's sake why did Nicolle stand up and then scream even louder?!

Pretending to be in Whoopi's "in" crowd as far as one of the male characters on "Empire" is concerned.  I just can't recall which character.  Poor, desperate girl.

She seems scared and unsure of herself. She also doesn't look as fresh as she used to. I hope she's not sick or anything.

She might be "sick" of the show...but she's also performing on Broadway and I think she's wearing a wig...a long, heavy wig that might keep her from being as animated.

I feel for Rosie P. She's being stifled and that's unfortunate. I didn't watch the show (I can't tolerate Whoopi anymore), but I hear that they talked about implants at one point. RP has a cute story to share about that, how she was at a spa or something where the women were topless and contrasted her natural breasts with the others' fake ones. Did she tell that story today? It's a lot more entertaining that Whoopi's boobs stories. Also, Rosie's still obviously affected by her injury.

And I do think that every person at that table has their own "team" tweeting and posting on The View's facebook page.  It's just all too convenient how the criticisms of Whoopi come in during the show, but afterwards, the posts are all about how funny and great she is. It happens with all the others, too.

ETA:  So Rosie P wasn't even there today. Sorry about that.

I don't go near the show's FB page anymore, can't post a "didn't like" comment without getting the old 1.2.reply...."then why do you watch the show, turn the channel!"   blah blah blah..LOL

Once upon a time I frequented The View's Message Boards. There were some great conversations  at times. It was not perfect, won't elaborate on that, lol. I've gone to it since they have  been redesigned, and if there's 125 topics, one might actually be about the show, and that's at a message board linked from ABC's page for The View. I honestly don't think anyone gives a crap about this show, Disney, ABC, none of them have seemed to care for a very long time.

I am new to this forum, but I just wanted to say, "This show is so hard to watch."  I found my heart just racing after today's show.  nicole is more offensive to me than Whoopie after I watch her day after day interrupting and always interjecting her own agenda.  She won't let anyone finish their thoughts.    On Monday's show, she wouldn't let the woman tell about the items she was describing without wanting her voice to be heard.

I don't think Raven was scheduled for today but came in to pitch in since Rosie was out. She did seem bewildered a little - but I give her a pass for not really being aware of the first ht (whatever it was).

She did save the day trying to figure out about the poop app and that for many children and adults it is medically a very good thing.  I read the facebook page because I'm on the west coast and am curious whether to watch. There were lots of personal examples today why people are pleased about that app.

I really don't see what Stacy brings to the table at all. And she is always moving in her seat, head moving sideways and up and down, eyes looking everywhere, red mouth wide and open, and then the wild gestures......all at once!

Welcome Sunflower Sue!

Hahaha!  That's hilarious Former Nun.  I didn't watch today but  the other day I did see them mention something about Amy Schumer being Chuck Schumer's daughter (they even put up a picture of Senator Schumer!)  which I thought was odd, but like you didn't really know for sure and was only half paying attention.     Good grief.  Has Bill Wolfe (executive producer) just left the building and ABC sends checks to use his name?  Or more likely, Whoopi and the crack staff of production assistants just winged it - facts be damned.

Put down the pipe Whoopi and pay attention.  When your show is so bad that people are actually speculating you are trying to sink it on purpose, well I'd like to think she had a little pride in her work but I've been watching too long.

I saw her in a quick video-chat on TMZ.  Glasses, no makeup.  She looks much better that way.  Still, she was too animated and wouldn't stop talking.

Whoopie has talked about her brother before. At the beginning of today's show, they're talking about some show and Whoopie says she didn't have the sibling experience. Less than 10 minutes later, Raven says something about her brother having to be careful about being stopped by the police because he's black and Whoopie says, "my brother too". Sigh.

I watched yesterday for the first time in a while. Fifteen minutes in, it was such a screech fest I couldn't handle it.

When I came back into the room, they were all howling about the poop app. And I was wondering if they were going to get to possible medical applications, but no. If someone has a colostomy, tracking movement through the intestines could be helpful. But it's poop! So let's laugh.

  • Love 1

OMG, you guys!!! Hat-tip to those of you still watching this mess. While ironing this morning I didn't turn the tv off soon enough after "Live" and decided to go ahead and take a look at what many of you have been snarking on (again, thanks for your sacrifice). I really could not believe how bad it was. First, I was treated to 10 minutes of five people talking/cackling over each other about a show I've never seen. And I didn't think WG could get any worse, but she flipping proved me wrong! And Nicole is definitely letting her obnoxious right-wing self show more and more. London is trying WAY too hard. I couldn't take it, turned the tv off, and put on music for the balance of my chores. Loud, happy, fun music that made me dance like a crazy person. Try it!!!

  • Love 10

Nicolle was very Bitsy-like in her shrieking about the Hilary email "scanda", and it was interesting that she derailed Whoopi's topic and WG didn't even get pissed at her.  what a love-in.

Yeah, what the hell happened to Nicolle?  she used to be kind of reasonable, and now she seems prone to hysterics.  Shrieking, laughing maniacally, interrupting, and playing dumb.

I did like the dress she had on yesterday, though - the black with the white trim.   But that was all I liked.

One more thing about yesterday's show -  Whoopi talked about how she always LOVED the Cinderella story/movie.  I thought that was strange, coming from her hatred of the Frozen movie.  The whole idea of frozen was a reaction to cinderella-type "some day my prince will come" messages to girls.  Weird to me that Whoopi prefers that kind of story.

  • Love 5

Whoa!!  The Whoops is wearing lipstick this morning.  WTH?

LOL MedicineCrow, that was my first reaction today too!

Whoopi yelling into the camera:  What gets me is people who don't do their homework.

Me: Hahahahahahaha.   Me too Whoopi.  You suck.

_______________________________________________________

The interviews were beyond ridiculous for all the reasons MedicineCrow already posted.   RIIIIIIHT? as Nicolle would say - repeatedly.   Whoopi is SO awesome!  Whoopi is SO amazing!  I couldn't even keep a straight face.  I felt bad for the captive studio audience.

Why are they still calling this show The View?  The only reason I can think of is it would cost too much to change it to The Whoopi Goldberg Hour.

JunieBug, I had it on today with the opposite effect.  It was like a crash on the highway - I didn't want to look/listen but couldn't help myself.

Not that weird to me backformore: Whoopi usually luuuvvvvs anything Disney puts out but she hated Frozen because RO loved it.

Yeah, what the hell happened to Nicolle?  she used to be kind of reasonable, and now she seems prone to hysterics.  Shrieking, laughing maniacally, interrupting, and playing dumb.

She was on her best behavior until she was more comfortable and now she's letting her pretty much unwatchable freak flag fly.

I felt bad for Raven today during the segment with Felicity Huffman and Timothy Hutton. You could tell she had a couple of questions she wanted to ask and from what I could hear they sounded more interesting than all the ass kissing and puffing on Whoopi's ego that was going on

  • Love 7

This is honestly making the Sherri/Jenny year seem like it wasn't so bad! The shrieking, the Whoopi ass-kissing hour, the lack of intelligent discussion and Whoopi's complete dominance has killed this show. There's not much else on here at 10 so I want to watch the show crash and burn. Usually 10 to 10:20 is all I can take. It's seriously getting hard for me to watch. Wtf are they doing? Can't someone on the payroll see how bad this show is? Is Whoopi just off the rails? It's literally the worst version to date.

  • Love 12

Just google poop app JunieBug....sounds like there are real reasons this may be helpful with medical conditions it may/does help if you can wade through the 11 year olds jokes about it and the utter disgust of some. I just skimmed one article and had not realized one wears a little monitor on your stomach and you get notifications on your smart phone.

But the view just behaved like 11 year kids and it took Raven to suggest it might help those with medical complications. I read their facebook yesterday and that is where I learned that there are conditions that warrant this app.

What is the point of making it a ht and not even knowing what it is.....or doing their own fucking homework to figure it out? Right Whoopi?

  • Love 6

Several of you have mentioned the poop ap, I'm almost afraid to ask but I'm curious and I trust you all. So, what exactly is this poop ap?

from my (limited) understanding, it includes a sensor on your abdomen that tracks movement through your intestines and sends an alert to your phone about when you need to (or WILL need to) poop.

I didn't see it as something a person without a medical condition would need  - but they acted like it was silly, made fun of the idea, then talked about using it for when a kid is toilet-training, because it's just dumb to think a person would need their PHONE to "tell me when to poop."

It bothered me, because I  could see the medical uses for people with severe IBS, or with a colostomy, Crohn's, any digestive disorder which could result in loss of bowel control.  Some people with chronic conditions are afraid to leave the house because of the fear they will soil themselves. children with disabilities, where they have no control over their bodies and have to wear diapers all the time.   An app like that would give people with those medical conditions a lot of freedom, knowing what to anticipate.  Just think about taking your disabled child out in a wheelchair, and always having to worry about where to change a kid who is not a baby, or worrying he will be embarrassed or made fun of.   a Tv show mentions an app that will let you predict when your child will need to poop, so you can schedule outings, or get your child to a toilet in time. You'd want to know the details -  and the name of the app!

But instead of acting like adults, The View wants to giggle about it, as usual.  I wish they would either treat such  topics seriously OR skip them entirely.

You tell them, backformore!  When have they ever really intelligently covered any subject having to do with body functions, especially when Whoopi has something to say about it.  Every topic is either poorly addressed or derailed by someone's idiotic contribution.  This show can't be depended upon to deliver any meaningful information.  I was watching yesterday when they were talking about the "poop ap" & as soon as I saw them not giving it any sincere credence, I zoned out.  You're right, backformore, it would be a God-send for lots of people.  Too bad this crapfest don't have the brains to see that.  (RO would have!)

Edited because I can't spell.

I watched for Felicity Huffman and Timothy Hutton, what a disappointment of an interview - Hutton even looked a bit startled when asked to tell a Whoopi story!

The only bright spot was Raven Simone.  She would be perfect for the younger member of the panel.  She seems to have a good sense of humor and appears knowledgable and intelligent.  I say "seems" and "appears" because it was hard for her to get a word in edgewise!

Also, can we please go back to the time when voices had to be modulated to be on radio and television - you know NOT screechy and harsh.

I didn't last past the "interview".

WTF?  She sure wasn't that way on Morning Joe this morning - she was all "it's the Clintons what do you expect?"  Honestly, relatively cavalier about the whole thing.

  • Love 3

I think Whoopi is really enjoying this Whoopi fest by the panel this week.

I love how she defends to the end all of the allegations/video etc about Hollywood celebrities....and caved in totally today with Nicole's allegations about the Clinton's. Just the other day she had the sense to mutter and say they were her friends.

I am really shocked about Whoopi's personality this season......

Thank you Maggiemae and Backformore for taking the time to respond to my question. I have had various digestive disorders over the years and may find the ap useful at times. I'll check it out. Since I'm a little bit sensitive on such issues, I'm very glad I didn't hear their discussion. Again, thank you both for your thoughtful insight.

I had to laugh that Whoopie was ranting about people not getting their kids vaccinated and I had to wonder if she would have said anything if Jenny was still there.

Ha!  Good point Rick.  Now that would have been awesome.  Somehow though I think Whoopi probably paid zero attention to this issue until this year with the measles outbreak making the headlines since now she actually has an infant in her family (great grandchild) she wants to protect.

They are so immature in their discussions if you can call them discussions

Wow Sunflower Sue, this comment really resonates with me.

Contrast the content and conversation of this show with all other daytime talk shows and The View is infantile in comparison.  They offer little too no real humor, no insight on anything and very little entertainment - and, of course, no conversation as we understand conversation.

If I were a manufacturer of noise cancelling headphones/devices, I would advertise here.  I have to believe the majority of whatever audience there is would welcome something to cancel the shrieking!

I would be a billionaire in no time!

Today Whoopi said today that she grew up without siblings.....but I've even seen her brother in the audience on the show. Or perhaps he grew up with their/his father?

I am not a big Whoopi fan these days, but I can see several scenarios that could make this make sense.  Could be a huge age difference between Whoopi and her brother.  Example: My youngest sister is 17 years younger than I am and was born when I was already away at college.  (Oddly, she and I get along great, better than with the other siblings, and we both think it's because we never had to compete for attention or turf within the family.)  We are siblings, but she and I both grew up without the other one in the house.

Or, it could be that they had different mothers/same father, each growing up with his/her own mom, and it being uncomfortable for all involved to have them interact much as kids.

Or, I know several families who couldn't afford the children they had, so one or more were fostered out and raised by other families who wanted kids but couldn't have them for whatever reason.

Or, could be that the brother "found" Whoopi as an adult.  Weird as it sounds, I have a friend who discovered that his father is biologically not his father, then found his bio-dad through DNA testing.  Turns out his bio-dad has two kids through marriage, and three "surprise!" kids who all found each other via DNA tests.  So my friend has, at age 36, five new siblings in addition to the one brother he was raised with (who is, now we know, biologically his half-brother).  And they are all strangers to one another.

Just throwing some possibilities out there.  Families can be confusing.  (I am very leery now of getting a DNA test.  Who knows what or who is lurking out there?)

I looked up WG and it was said on Biography.com her brother is Clyde Johnson and he is her younger brother were raised by their mother Emma "in a housing project in the Chelsea section of Manhattan."

I think Whoopi left home early....but nevertheless has a sibling.....and was raised with one at some time...if the site (or Whoopi) is to be ....believed. Plus they both have the name Johnson.

  • Love 1

They are so immature in their discussions if you can call them discussions.  They act like everything is just hilarious with their over the top giggles.

Since Whoopi joined the show (and when Sherri also first came onboard) this is how the show has been.  They had three comediennes at the time (although Joy was capable of more than just spouting jokes) and it seemed the intent was to make everything funny.  And it was usually a big fail.

When Meredith and Star were there the humor was more natural.  It flowed organically from their discussions.  God I miss those days.

I can't watch anymore, just can't, have tried, just can't.....removed from dvr.....

I'm with you, Foghorn. No one should have to try so hard to be entertained or even just slightly interested. It's a shame. Although, since I've stopped watching my blood pressure has stabilized and I'm getting more excercise. Hey, maybe that's their secret goal; getting all of us to turn off the squawk box...brilliant, Mr. Wolff! It's working!!

Anyway, try the music/dancing thing...just close the blinds first. ;-)
