Well, that inside the episode, just took out my enthusiasm for the episode.  Sigh

So is SHE the seal of Solomon?

I dont think so because we see a glowing necklace in the promo

I think there is gonna be some juvenile "humour" about tentacle porn in the episode - as evidenced by Dabb and Singer basically teehee-hahaha-ing about it but other than that I don`t think the "Inside the Episode" told us much.

She's wearing 1920's clothes.  I'd say they entered a place where time is not the same or she's immortal (in which case the dress has held up well).

I thought it was hilarious.  It's such a Dean thing to do.  My guess is he wanted to see how long it would take Sam to notice.

I just feel like it's just being done for hur dur goofy Dean and grumpy Sam being annoyed by it.

This is what we've been getting for the last two eps.  So I'll take my laughs where I can get them.

I thought it was funny. Hearkens back to spoon in the mouth days. Now what would really be awesome is for Sam to pull the stick out of his nether regions and prank Dean back. Maybe short sheet his bed while Dean is gone.

So, Dean is the one putting the notes on Sam's back? Why? This seems really stupid.

I don't agree with you about him needing to grow up. He's plenty grown up.

Not grown up enough if he’s sticking labels with words like “assface” on someone’s clothing like a silly teenager, actually not even sure most teenagers would bother with that.

You know. You've given me a new way to think about it. I think Dean is acting out the childhood that he never got by doing this.  I'm fine with it now and I retract that it's stupid. Thanks for helping me have that clarity!

*shrugs* People of all ages can still torment their siblings.  If he started sticking labels on random people I might be annoyed.

BTW, turning 40 doesn't mean you suddenly develop a new personality.

Dean was four years old when he was forced to grow up over night.  If he wants to indulge his childish nature everyone once in awhile I say go for it.  I love this playful side of Dean.

Eh, it doesn’t give him a lifetime pass to be an immature ‘assface’.

It was a childish prank. Siblings do that.

My problem was actually that it wasn't funny to me, I would've preferred something a bit nastier. Nair in your shampoo nastier.

I liked the pranking that demon Dean did in s10. Those were funny.  I didn't think these were all that funny either, but thinking about him just living out some of his childhood now...I'm okay with it.

Hm, so it was Dean. Still think it would have been a really clever way to have it be a "cry for help" from Gabriel. But alas.

However, major curve ball now. They already did the spell and Dean and Ketch went through. Now we see in the promo for next week that the duo may liberate some prison camp but is no closer to finding Mary and Jack. At least this makes it seem like the AU-world is not just 4 square feet where everything happens and thus everyone always immediately runs into each other.

But the episode 19 summary tells us that Dean and Sam must stop Rowena, yada yada. Which IMO will not happen in apocalypse world. So Dean at least makes it back.

One of the spoilers for ep 20 says that Mary and Jack were at a camp of sorts, that is the actors filmed scenes there. Hence, they do not make it back and are still in apoca-world by then.

However, Jack and Lucifer do meet in episode 21. So that means a breakthrough in either late episode 20 or early 21.

After that, my previous predictions have pretty much not changed.

Though what is gonna be the plot purpose of Dean going through the rift with Ketch? It could be Ketch dies a sacrifical death there and the brother`s needed to be separated for a while but I doubt that was it. Is it to facilitate a meeting between Dean and AU!Michael so Michael has a chance to not be interested at first?

Pretty stumped on this development right now.

I think next week will turn out to be mostly filler because I don't think Christian is in this ep.   They probably need to separate Sam and Dean to save working days.  I wonder if Mary and Jack decide to stay, to help the people of that world.

Dean and Sam live pretty crappy lives - always getting hurt and having to save someone and not having romantic relationships because those people might get hurt. I'm fine with a little pranking. They do plenty of adulting, for crying out loud.

And it would go a LONG way toward making me stop rolling my eyes at Sam if they would have him retaliate a little (a la crazy glue on the beer bottle - back when the stick up his butt was a mere toothpick).

Maybe that was Dean's plan.  He was trying to goad Sam into retaliating in an attempt to get him to remove that stick for his...nether regions.

Could very well be of course.

Obviously something also goes wrong because episode after that Cas wants to recruit angels for an impending invasion. Likely from apoca-world.

Something go wrong by leaving an open rift in the middle of the bunker? Naw, how could that be?

I was fine with the prank. I don't think Dean would every do anything that would have long term effects on Sam, so no Nair in the shampoo. It was for his own amusement as no one else is in the bunker. I also wondered if he just wanted a reaction from Sam to gauge his mindset. I'm still not sure Sam is fine right now. I'm also pretty sure Dean isn't either but he's pushing it down.

So, I think Dean left Sam in the bunker with Gabriel to try and protect him.  I think Sam gets the snot beat out of him by Asmodeus.  We know Sam gets beat up soon.  Asmodeus likely knows where the bunker is what with Donatello as his inside man for a while.  And he's good with spell work -- so he may get past the warding.  But looking at the future.... it's clear to me that Dean is UNSUCCESSFUL in getting Mary & Jack back next episode.

The remaining episode titles (descriptions where available) from Jess' tumblr:

Episode 13x18 Title: Bring ‘Em Back Alive

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:  DANNEEL ACKLES AND RICHARD SPEIGHT JR. RETURN – Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) rules over heaven but things aren’t going exactly as planned, exasperating his first lady, Jo (guest star Danneel Ackles). Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) are perplexed by the return of Gabriel (guest star Richard Speight Jr.). Meanwhile, Dean (Jensen Ackles) gets one step closer to finding Mary and Jack. Amyn Kenderali directed the episode written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (#1318). Original airdate 4/12/2018.

Episode 13x19 Title: Funeralia

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:  ANGELS, WITCHES AND REAPERS, OH MY – Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must stop Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell), who is on a deadly mission. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) looks to heaven to recruit angels for an impending invasion but is shocked by not only what he finds, but who. Nina Lopez-Corrado directed the episode written by Steve Yockey (#1319). Original airdate 4/19/2018.

Episode 13x20 Title: Unfinished Business Guest stars: Richard Speight Jr. (Gabriel), Alexandr Calvert (Jack), Samantha Smith (Mary), Danneel Ackles (Jo/Anael), Mark Pellegrino (Lucifer).

Episode 13x21  Title: Beat the Devil Guest stars: Ruth Connell (Rowena),  Alexander Calvert (Jack), Mark Pellegrino (Lucifer), Richard Speight Jr. (Gabriel), Samantha Smith (Mary Winchester),  Richard Speight Jr. (Gabriel).

Episode 13x22  Title: Apocalypse Now Guest stars: Alexander Calvert (Jack), Mark Pelegrino (Lucifer), Samantha Smith (Mary), Jim Beaver (AU Bobby), Ruth Connell (Rowena), Richard Speight Jr. (Gabriel)

Episode 13x23  Title: Let The Good Times Roll

Sam and Dean are back in our universe working to stop Rowena in the episode after next.  And I think they are in still filming in Apocalypse world thru 13x22.  The guest stars pretty much give away that neither Lucifer nor Rowena die in 13x21. So... I think in 13x18 they Don't "Bring 'Em Back Alive". Maybe they get some big intel over in AU world, leave Ketch there (or he dies) is my guess, and Dean comes back warning of invasion.   We also know Gabriel is back so he doesn't die (at least not next episode).  Also Evil Col Sanders isn't listed as a guest star after next week.  That's not definitive but could be telling.

Getting intel on guests for 13x23 sees clutch to me.  That'll tell us who survived Apocalypse Now (I suspect). Also 13x23 looks like more S14 setup than S13 conclusion, based solely on title.

If Dean is expected to give up being his normal silly self at the age of 40, then I'm in trouble.  It was a stupid, harmless prank, and obviously meant for his own amusement to see just how long it would take Sam to notice the stickies.  Sam's reaction was a bit overdone, in my opinion, considering he never left the bunker.  It's not as if he was walking down the street, surrounded by people pointing and laughing at him.  I'd have preferred if they'd just had Sam roll his eyes, or call Dean an ass, since that was more the level of the prank.  His reaction didn't fit the crime, IMO.

If Col. Sanders invades the bunker next episode, they should throw Gabe a bone and give him the kill. They played him way too pathetic for an archangel in this last episode. He was never introduced as a big fighter but nevertheless he desperately needs some badass points back. Unless it goes to Sam so he can get two princes of hell.

I reckon Ketch is gonna die in AU!world. "Not my first war zone and shant be my last"? Prophetic irony probably. If they wanna go full-on redemption, he is gonna sacrifice himself for some people over there. Hopefully, Dean gets some kick-ass scenes there. The promo looked promising but that can be misleading.

They`ll start shooting the Finale on Monday. We`ll see if any shooting reports surface from the next two weeks.

Yeah, I'd be happy if Asmodeus bites it sooner rather than later.  He's one character I do not want carrying over to next season.  Sadly, with my track record, he's pretty much guaranteed to survive.

I'm assuming Sister Jo doesn't survive.  She may have one or two more appearances, but my guess is Lucifer will turn on her, eventually.  He isn't known for playing nice or loyalty.

I agree that Ketch is probably done for in the AU.  Which does beg the question, why bring him back to begin with?  He really hasn't done much so far, unless his sole reason for being was to help Gabriel escape.  If that's it, then they surely could have facilitated that another way.  It's not like the show was crying out for filler characters this season.  Maybe he'll stay in the AU as a fighter/soldier to further redeem himself.

I don't know what to think about the talk that Bobby comes back to our world.  I love Bobby, but I love our Bobby.  I've no doubt they can speed up his bonding process with Sam and Dean to make him seem more like our version, but it's still a bit of a cheat.  I'd have been happy if they'd found some other way to bring our guy back, but I have mixed feelings about Bobby, version 2.0.

Although I'm enjoying this season more than 11 or 12, it's a muddled season with too many characters and no clear direction.  I'm assuming there will be a battle and a whole lot of dying in the finale.  I'm hoping they clean house and start afresh for the new season with just one big bad or perilous situation.

I'm excited for Jensen's upcoming character challenge.  We know he'll knock it out of the park, fingers crossed for some good writing too.

This season there was no one big bad to focus on. We have multiple bads, none of which have been fleshed out to any point where I understand what they are doing or their motivations. Lucifer, Michael, Asmodeus. PICK ONE.

Add to that the "we have to get Mom and Jack back" and muddled is the perfect word. I'm not saying I don't still like the show. I do. And I enjoy more episodes than I don't. But I wish beyond all hope that they dial it back and go small next year. Back to the roots.

This whole season feels like it has been biding time for stories that can't properly be wrapped up in the few eps remaining. It makes me wonder if they assumed an S14 or knew it from the jump. Or maybe they anticipated ending with a bang.

I think it's a given Jack will continue to the next season.  I like the actor and he seems to fit in on set, but they've whitewashed him to the point of being a yawn (for me, anyway).  It'd be fun to see him go off the rails.

But there are a whole bunch of characters I want gone. If they have to keep a couple - I'd vote for the conniving hustlers Rowena and Ketch.

I think it's because they sidelined the main arc for setting up wayward sisters and then blended it with that and now they are going back and it's left a lot of gaps.

I think Rowena is in it for the duration now. It would be patently ridiculous to kill her off a third time, and she makes the best replacement for Crowley as a dark-side frenemy. I'll be perfectly happy if Ketch doesn't survive the next episode, but thoroughly annoyed if he attains redemption, especially if it involves saving Dean. Ideally, Dean throws him under a fast-moving, apocalyptic bus.

As much as I like Jack, I just don't see how they keep him on the show without doing something about his powers.  Cas' abilities have always been an issue, which is why we never know what powers he actually has from one moment to the next.  With someone as powerful as Jack, they can't just leave him hanging around, fully charged.  I still see him either being left in the AU to fix that world, or possibly running Heaven.  They have to give him something to do so he's not readily available to always save the day when Sam and Dean get in trouble.

Saw a Tumblr spec (http://dustydreamsanddirtyscars.tumblr.com/post/172689213666/13x17-the-thing-to-be-gabriel-or-not-to-be) about it not being Gabriel but Michael that is now in the fetal position in the bunker.  Why he looks like Gabriel I don't know (insert plotonium here).

Intriguing theory.  Although I would think Cas would recognize him without the vessel as whatever being he truly is.

Oh that's funny because I had a similar thought but dismissed it. I'm not sure how that could work and it also means that Gabriel agreed to the possession. Unless they pull it out of their butts that somehow it was a forced possession. It would annoy my greatly if this turns out to be the car.

I don't like the redemption idea.  But I enjoy a sticky tricky character - plus he has no supernatural powers.  So he's kind of interesting to me... but to be used sparingly of course.

Still, I guess he'll be redeemed and die in the AU saving Dean's butt or something ridiculous like that.  Sigh...

If that is Michael and they made him that uber-pathetic, then he`d be instantly out of consideration for any "stepping up" Dean would have to do. The only reason to say yes would be because they need a power player, this is anything but. I think it`s ridiculous for Gabriel already but making Michael into such a loser would be the deathknell for that character way before Dean could ever play him.

As for Ketch, if they truly want to go with the redemption angle, he has to sacrifice himself for some poor, innocent people in apoca-world. Which might happen what with liberating the prison camp and him being initially snarky about it.

IDK.  If Michael is pathetic, maybe Dean will "stabilize him". Big risk IMO.

As for Ketch, if he doesn't die falling on a grenade for innocents, I think he'll stay behind when the 24 hrs is up and continue to look for Mary & Jack.  Now Mary may shoot him on sight (well deserved) but coming back to our Universe is just not really smart for him right now.

The problem with Ketch is that he was a pychopath last year.  I don't see how that gets "cured" (without years of therapy and likely medication).  They've certainly made him act humble and grovelling towards the Winchesters, but humility doesn't cure an actual mental illness. And I think Ketch enjoyed torturing too much to suggest he was anything other than a psychopath.  Lady Toni as well BTW.

Still, maybe death helped reset his brain wiring and he's not quite as deranged as before.  IDK.  We'll see how he is with Dean on this mission.  If there's anyplace one could remake yourself, it's probalby Apocalypse World.  Where everything is in ruins and people need help.  And if he choose to, Ketch would be useful.  But I just don't see a happy ever after for that dude.  A life of penance might be the best he can hope for.  I'm okay with Mary if she shoots him in the privates.

It would be interesting to see a Michael!Dean that was completely crazy but IF Gabriel is Michael, he's just broken. And Dean's been broken enough thus far this season. I don't need him to play a broken Michael. But a crazy, wild, unpredictable Michael who's just hiding in Gabriel....maybe.

Link to comment

That would only work if Michael was running a con of some kind, not if he was actually such a little broken wimp. If you can reduce an archangel to this, wow. And not in a good way. AU!Michael may be one-dimensionally evil but at least he seems to be strong. If they want me to take any other Michael seriously, he needs to be strong as well.

Yeah, I'm agreeing with you. Just saying that if they wanted a wackadoodle not broken Michael, I'm okay with that.

Which brings up a question. Can Asmodeus tell the difference between angel grace. I mean hasn't their grace been considered their lifeforce and thelr essence? Wouldn't someone like him be able to tell if he was siphoning a different angel's grace? Or is it more that he's only been siphoning from Gabriel for like....eons? Or what?

I don't quite get it what the grace does for him that being a demon doesn't. Demons can teleport or at least Crowley could. So what more is he getting than this demon powers.

It's so stupid.
