Valerie Fairman died last night, speculative COD is a drug overdose. She was on 16&P season 2a with the TM2 girls, I remember a snippet of her episode being played a lot in promos for that season ("it's your baby Matt, get it through your head, we had sex ALOT").

Her mom is talking to TMZ (which I find weird); she's been to rehab 5 times in the past 5 years, and was found pretty much DOA with needles around her. I really feel for Nevaeh, her daughter, especially to lose her mom so young and at this time of year.

Oh god that's awful. Poor girl. I feel terribly for her parents and her daughter. Who knows if she inherited addictive tendencies from her bio parents, or trauma in her early childhood (she was adopted by her parents from foster care) sent her down a path she couldn't recover from. May she RIP.

So my virtual friends I have a story to share with you.

Im going to admit that I'm a 31 year old hetero woman in currently in a drought. As serious drought, a "the other day I picked up a banana and started looking at it strangely" drought. It's awful. About 6weeks ago I met a guy a mutual friend's bday party- he asked for my number and we went to dinner. I had a nice time but felt no chemistry. I wasn't surprised or upset when he didn't ask me out again, and I heard from our mutual friend that he clicked with someone he met online (I was glad for him, he was perfectly nice and respectable). Well two days after my banana incident (when I realized how hard up I was) I get a text from my mutual friend wondering if I would be oh so insulted if he asked me out again. I said straight up "I'm no fool, I don't think he's mad about me, but I'm bored and hungry (in more ways than one) so like whatever". She bust out laughing about my "banana incident" and said she understood.

I don't have to be madly in love with the man to eat dinner do I? I think I've been way to hard on myself. If a nice single man with no kids and a job wants to take me out to dinner (I did enjoy talking to him) and satisfy my need for (safe) partnered sex who am I to deny him? It'd would be cruel. Lol.

Is anyone else struggling with feelings of shame and guilt because you watch this horrible franchise and enjoy discussing it here? I am.  These children and their pain are exploited for ratings/storylines. Jace and Isaac are killing me.  I worry about Kaiser's psychological and physical safety.  Looking so closely like his father makes Kaiser the perfect target for David's anger.  I know I'm not the only mandated reporter on here and I wonder if I'm bordering   territory.  I sought consultation with my colleagues but no one watches the series.  They tell me to remember that scenes are manipulated but you can't create some of he shit we've seen unfold on/off this show.  David choked and threw a pregnant woman out of his vehicle! You can't make that shit up.

I understand what you're saying. But I oddly think the presence of the cameras is protecting the kids somewhat from the worst.

I think back to TM:OG- I was always a Gary fan, I knew he was a decent guy who just wanted to go to work, take care of his kid and have a peaceful life. Amber was his first love and mentally unstable. No one really saw how violent Amber could be until she KICKED HIM in the back down the stairs while he was holding that tv. Getting that on film helped him get primary custody of Leah (which as a man would've been hard), and started Amber on her path to jail (which may have straightened her out if she hadn't had TM money to fall back on).

Dave is a scary ass dude, but he can't go too far with everyone watching him. The show makes ppl know who he is and what he's about. Barb still has Jace (thank god) but jenelle cannot hide things that happen on camera.

As far as Lincoln and Issac, I don't think they are in any sort of physical danger, and they do have a lot of emotional support from their extended families. Kailyn will do what she wants with or without the cameras. Aubree is fine.

Cameras keep Leah TRYING to be an involved mother. I really don't know. I understand that you care about the kids, I do too, they are innocent in all this.

I know back a few seasons ago when Jenelle dumped poor, sick Kaiser in his bed and walked away instead of trying to comfort him that a lot of us were very uncomfortable having watched that. There was even a lot of talk in that episode thread of the possibility of reporting her because of it. Unfortunately, being a selfish, emotionally cold parent is not enough to get a real investigation going unless there is evidence of true physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. Definitely these kids could be subject to severe abuse someday, considering how irresponsible most of the moms are and how many strange men they bring into their lives. But until it happens CPS is so overwhelmed with criminal cases of abuse they probably can't devote much time to investigating the shitty parenting of the TM2 cast.

On the bright side, almost all the kids do have some stable, loving family in there lives. Leah's girlses have the Simms and Calverts, Issac has Jo and Lincoln has Javi, Jace has Barb, and Kaiser has Nathan and his family. I also agree with Scarlett45  that the cameras and scrutiny might be helping prevent more abuse or neglect from happening.

Yes indeed I feel guilty. I was appalled at Gary being assaulted and hoped that was a one off for Amber and the series. Of course now we know of even more. It has been 7 years watching the kids with kids grow. I think MTV has overstayed their welcome, yet I still watch to see the children. Mostly it's heartbreaking now. I personally have generations of Chelseas and Janelles in my family so maybe thats why I hang in there. I come to this forum first everyday. Now that's shameful! I stay because of the poster friends.

Who?!  I think I first heard that quote on RHoNY, but don't know if that is where it started. I think your pic is cute. Would much rather see someone in the moment and having fun than the BS pics Leah and Kail post of themselves.

Thanks, Booger666! (I wanted to call you SatanicBooger but perhaps your 666 is referencing something else! LOL) It's RHOOC's Vicki Gunvalson's house! My sister-in-law lives in Coto de Caza. She's seen Vicki and Jeana around and recently got some invitation to some "business seminar" Vicki was giving.

I should have turned one of her Dollar Tree Christmas bows upside down.

I have been gone for a week and have missed so much on here!! :( I need to catch up on all the awesome stuff in this thread!

Well that makes sense, Vicki is a lying liar who lies!  Did you pull up to Vicki'S house in a FAMILY VAN?!?!

Feel free to call me SatanicBooger. Ha! Years ago when Farmersonly.com started out they bought up all the TV ads for a whole weekend. My brother is single so as a joke I signed up to see what farm girls were available (you had to sign-in and logon to search) but I wanted a user name that would not result in any members contacting me to chat or meet up. Pickings must be slim around these parts because there were actually women who were interested in Booger666. Anyhow, it's a user name that is impossible for me to forget so I keep using it.

Bringing this from the Kail thread:

Quote

I still remember when it was reported that Tupac was shot. I was in 6th grade. I lived in the midwest and my mom ruled the radio with an iron fist. We mainly listened to the Michael Bolton/Linda Ronstadt station. I made the mistake of asking who Tupac was and was summarily mocked by entire class.

You'd think I would have learned my lesson the year before, when I was the fifth grade pariah for not knowing who Tony Toni Tone was.

This seriously made me ROTFL

Oh no, not Michael Bolton. Linda Ronstadt is awesome, but Michael B.? No. Just no.

You did know who Bel Biv Devoe was, right? Anyone watch the movie?

I was such a nerd. I used to annoy all my friends in middle school by getting Blackstreet and Backstreet Boys mixed up all the time.

lol

Did you ask who was Notorious B.I.G. when he was killed?

One of my daughters was a Backstreet Boy fanatic. She was a fanatic for all the boy bands. That is how I got hooked on Nick Lachey and Jessica's reality show.

I think I was in late high school before I even knew who Notorious was. Like I said, I didn't listen to the radio much, we didn't get cable until I was in high school, and I spent much of my adolescence reading alone. I didn't have a lot of friends, and the ones I did have were much like me.

ETA: I DID know who Bel Biv Devoe was! One summer I stayed with my cousin who had cable. We watched all the music videos and made our choreographed dance moves to that Daizy Duke song (I know I am misspelling).

I also learned that smacking it, flipping it, and rubbing it down was all in the wrong order. Their other song, Do Me, had a classic 90's video trope: everything danced out in like a quarter inch of water in an abandoned warehouse.

For clarity, first you have to rub it down, THEN you flip it, and if you're in the right mental spot, THEN maybe think about smackin' it.

Growing up, I heard a lot of 60s and early 70s music. If I wasn't listening to music growing up, reading is what I was doing. I am big on reading to this day.

You know, I recently listened close to the lyrics for Regulate (a 90's classic), and I found myself completely flabbergasted by it. In the song, which I never realized, Warren G is riding around Compton in his whip, and then (a) sees a couple of "brothas throwin dice." He decides it's a good idea to get out of his car, insert himself into these two gentlemen's game of dice, then has the temerity to be SURPRISED when they rob his ass? Where the fuck did he think he was? He is literally dumbfounded, he says "They takin' Warren's wealth, they took my rings, they took my Rolex!" Dumb ass, don't you realize that you have SOME responsibility in this situation? Thank god his homey Nate Dogg shows up, promptly murders these busters, then they switch their minds back nto "freak mode" (WHAT STATE OF MIND WERE THEY IN WHEN HE SHOT THESE DUDES IF NOT FREAK MODE) and go pick up some ladies. GUYS, those dudes are dead! Busters or not! Not cool!

I can get behind this one, but it also features a lesson on how to be polite when your friend's momma cooks soggy macaroni, mushy peas and wooden chicken. That's back when rappers rapped about having a checking account, a color tv (So you can watch the knicks play basketball!), and names like "Hank."

Dang it, now I'm in need of a Soul Train line-type party. Nothing says summer like a soul train line.

You just brought back so many memories of the 70s by mentioning that Soul Train line. Those were the days. Now when I get a Soul Train line going, here comes someone with their walker as they try and glide down the line, and someone else is barely able to shake their groove thing because of hip problems. lol

One of my children went to Vegas last year and met Warren G. in one of the casinos. She was so stoked. She was a teen in the 90s.

Damnit, I have to leave to run errands. I look forward to coming back to this conversation.

ONe of my jams back in the day was Back to the Hotel (N2Deep). I would sing along to what I thought they were saying riding with my mom.  As an adult I looked up the lyrics (because we couldn't do that back then. Dang internet!) and OMG!! I can't jam that ol school song with my daughter in the car. That song is not kid friendly.  Lol

Same with "I Got 5 On It". Do the Diddy, ol school R Kelly. Yea, I have to jam all that on tha down low now. Ha!!

Haha, y'all hard.  I didn't listen to a whole lot of music but I listened to enough Salt N Pepa on Sunday nights at the under 21 clubs to figure out just who's in my daybed, at night, working up a sweat.  Which apparently a quick Google search says I'm stupid and have been singing it wrong for decades.

I feel like I should apologize for just typing that out, too.  ?

I love those jams! I have them on my iPod.

One time my iPod began playing "Mind Playing Tricks on Me" in my car. I told my adult daughter who was in the car with me, "This song makes me wanna go do a drive-by." She nearly peed in her pants from laughing.

Regarding the bolded part of your comment, that song is forever embedded in my grey matter as the song that played during the scene during a Real World Venice/Los Angeles scene. It was the scene where Tami just had an abortion.

There are a handful of songs that I hear and they remind me of a specific Real World / Road Rules scene because back in the day, MTV would use hit songs in their shows. Not the independent crap they use now.

Ladies, one for you: fuck marry kill. Courtland, Nathan, David. Go!

can we require each of them to take an STD test first?

They're all gross, but somehow Nathan edges the other two out as the creepiest. I am not sure why (I mean, I know why he's creepy, I just don't know why I think he's worse). Nathan gets the kill!

Between the other two....sigh. Fuck Courtland, marry David. Ew.

OK @Uncle JUICE- Jenelle, Jessica (Nathan's ex), Kailyn. Go!

I'll even answer your bonus question. I'd marry Babs, you know, because. I'd do that even if the teen dads on the show were an option. Kill Dawn, and I guess by default hope that Mary's a trip in bed.

You know, between Adam, Jenelle, Nathan, Germy, and now Kailyn, there's going to be like, a new Teen Mom 2 branded STD in a year or two. It'll be like Firestarter, where a chick who can close doors with her mind breeds with a dude who can control minds, and the result is a daughter who can start fires.

This motley crew's mix of gonorrhea, chlamydia, and herpes will result in some airborne super-virus that will infect everyone in the room when Germy so much as coughs. It'll be like The Stand. Or Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
