Ha, Robert Carlyle's endless disdain/"I do what I want!" never, ever fails to crack me up.

 

Forget the Snow Queen story and Captain Swan and whatever, I want to see Emma-Charming-Elsa-Anna all kick back, have a beer, and hang out. That would be the most adorable, badass group of people ever.

Hey now, Hook deserves to be in that group too as the fifth wheel considering he's dating Emma, is apparently friendly with Elsa, and is Charming's "mate".

Too bad Robert doesn't do his weekly asks sessions anymore. We'd have 4B stuff by now.

That quick clip of Elsa and Emma is cute and refreshing. Something this show desperately needs with the nonstop drama and humor-less crap.

Who knows maybe Elsa and Anna will be a big hit and greedy ABC will want a spinoff. From what I'm seeing Georgina has the chops and presence to lead a show with Elsa. And if Emma and Elsa are a hit too, they could move her over there. (With entirely new show runners hopefully).

About Elsa and Emma, I think people is getting too excited with a 3 seconds scene (I mean, there is already a ship), when, knowing A&E and they aversion to everything that is not plot, plot, plot, their friendship would end up being two or three conversations about their powers and how love is the way to control them and nothing more. Hey, maybe they surprise me, but I really doubt it.

But with these guys less is always more. See Rumbelle. All it took was Skin Deep to make its mark but then they dismantled it. I'd be happy with one epsiode and I think Jane is writing the Charming/Anna and Emma/Elsa first meeting so there's that at least. Also I do think they're going to have to give Elsa something substantial to do because it's Elsa. I can't see Disney being ok with Elsa standing around like a bump on the log playing extra number 2.

Anna has a snowflake necklace too. Is it their mom's? And if so does this confirm that EM is playing their aunt? Or is it the same necklace?

I had second hand embarrassment watching that snowman. Lol.

Something must be wrong with me because I actually liked that clip, especially the way the snow monster came together followed by Hook's "Well, that's going to suck," kind of thing. I've gotten used to the cheap CGI -- that's what makes it campy!

Yeah, maybe all the earlier reports lowered my expectations, but that's pretty much exactly how I imagined a CGI version of the Frozen snow monster to look. But I too love the campy CGI on this show.

 

(ETA: Okay, now having seen the whole thing, the CGI looked a lot worse on the long shots. But no way near as bad as the CGI in the Arendelle scene at the dock with Elsa and Kristoff. And I still love the shitty CGI.)

Can anybody tell who the guy is who is getting buried under an avalanche in the preview clip at the end of the ep? I've tried so many times and can't tell. (It could be a stuntman, of course.) At first I thought it was Robin, but now I think maybe it's Will. His hair is really short.

I can't tell if it's Charming or Will.

 

When Emma said that line tonight "She lost someone she really cares for because of me", did it sound to anyone else like " I lost someone I cared about" or that the "she" was refering to someone else rather than Regina? If the flashbacks include something like somebody dying because of Emma/her magic, it's gonna be pretty heavy. Then again, she could just be scared that Hook is gonna die in her arms like Graham and Neal.

See, I just kind of guffawed when they had Elsa say "No one leaves town until I find Anna!" and putting up an ice wall, because it just shows how contrived "everyone must stay in Storybrooke!" is these days. And I don't even think it's really necessary at this point, so it comes off as doubly stupid, imo.

 

You just know Regina and Robin are going to end up "cuddling for warmth," though, and I will throw something at my TV.

 

JMo is on crack if she thinks Regina and Emma are friends. Also: in the same way that it's massively insulting to Elsa to compare her with Regina, it's actually rather insulting to compare Emma's "mistakes" with Hook's. Pretty sure they are not on the same level there.

JMo tweeted that her favorite Captain Swan scene "hasn't aired yet."

 

And Lana tweeted that her favorite scenes to film are in 4x05. So I'm afraid our fears of Emma's flashback ep being turned into a Regina ep are probably spot-on. That's probably the Emma-Regina ep. Because God forbid Emma have an ep of her own.

I can't believe these people have me dreading the long-awaited Emma flashback ep. I mean, flashbacks will be another actress, and present will be Regina... what the heck is there to look forward to?

The hair seemed darker than Josh's to me, but maybe it was my TV.

 

I'm guessing they're out looking for Elsa and she creates the snow cave, trapping Emma inside and leaving Charming and Hook outside, and Charming gets buried/almost buried, but Hook is able to free him. Then they go to Gold's shop for help.

I can't wait for the Elsa/Emma scenes and the hat mystery. How do they go from freezing in a cave to friends? I just youtubed the Frozen and Rumple scenes and man all 3 Frozen people were on point, although Anna can take it down a notch. It'll be interesting to see her with Charming. I'm not sure if Charming can come off as young as Anna or if he's even meant to.

 

See A&E, good guys can have personalities and all they had to do was follow the cartoon down to the letter. How sad is that? I'm totally convinced some Frozen guy is sitting at the head of the table pouring over everything Elsa/Anna related.

 

I wonder if the hat is related to the writer mystery? The owner of the hat is also the writer maybe?

Regina is just effed up to the max.  So it's all or nothing?  She gets to be with Robin and Have Henry and if she doesn't have Robin, then Henry gets the shaft?  Because WTF!  Parents put their children first!  I wish everyone in town would stop placating her whiny, drama queen ass.

Hahahaha. Too funny. Bo Peep as warlord. Reminds me of Fforde's Nursery Crime series. I think/hope this is going to be a good episode. 

 

Regina avoiding Henry is a real stinker though. She just got reunited with him after a whole year of thinking she would never see him again, and claiming that he was her happy ending! Just because Emma is a spare doesn't mean she can stop being a parent over a bad romance.

The Bo Peep business is the best thing I've heard in ages...

 

I like the idea of finally seeing them struggle to do more real world things (how to fix a generator!), but I have a feeling it's going to be not great.

 

The ordering of that press release is a mess.  "Emma is freezing to death in a cave.  Elsewhere, Regina is moping about a break up, which makes Henry sad."  I know that's know how it will play, but it reads like "One mom is dying, no big.  Other mom is crying over her boyfriend, and that is TRAGIC."

If Regina avoids Henry like she considered going evil last ep, they will be all hugs. I'm curious about the ice cave. Is Elsa so out of control that she can't even let them out? Is she actually keeping it frozen? I mean Regina blew the shit out of the snow monster without breaking a sweat. I get that Elsa is afraid but if they are getting through to her like has been suggested, I'm confused.

That's brilliant. And David is a shepherd so it's perfect that Bo Peep is involved. I hope she's a total bada$$.

 

In show time, it has been only roughly a day that Henry has remembered Regina. Regina spent 3B going on about how he was the only thing that mattered and she can't live without him and she was going to put herself in a sleeping curse until he woke her up...and now her boyfriend of two days goes back to his wife and she won't even speak to her son. Eh. Resilent heart you say? I say, Hahahahahaha! Henry is just one of the many things she does not deserve.

While I confess I had to google who is Bo Peep (growing up in a non-western culture does that to you sometimes), at least it something not from Disney. I'm sick of the show pretending all fairy tales are Disney. I get that they want publicity, but there are plenty of interesting fairy tales that were never adapted and could be used for creating some pretty compelling stories.

Now that the premiere has aired, I feel safe coming back into the spoilers thread. I love wild speculation based on random filming pics, but don't want a scene by scene account of exactly what happens in an ep from tons of random fans a week in advance. Please don't do that again, ABC.

 

Back to the spoilers. If Regina pulls a bunch of crap with Henry because she's "lost" Robin, I will throw things. They want me to find Regal Believer so sweet, but Regina reverting to Evil Queen mode in the premiere and not giving a second thought to Henry just destroys the supposedly wonderful True Love mother/son bond they want me to believe in. I'm wondering if this is where the 'Henry wants his fake memories back' that Robert Carlyle was talking about comes in.

The only other person ever represented with a hat like that (outside Disney) is Merlin.  Merlin is supposed to be the greatest sorcerer who ever lived.  They already did a couple of things to do with Camelot, so they might be circling back to that?

I know Emma is going to be the point person for the Frozen arc but I would like it if there was an Elsa/Regina parallel with Regina avoiding Henry. Last ep, she was about to use a fire ball when she walked away. Later her anger broke a mirror. Obviously the parallel would have very different context since Elsa is not a villain, but the essence of both characters recognizing that they should be alone when upset because of issues with control could be there.

That Bo Peep is being played by Calamity Jane just adds to the awesome.

I would love it if the hat belonged to Merlin! I think it would be interesting if Rumple wanted his power and had to fight the urge to use his dagger to get the hat.

It's...wait for it...the Three Bears!

 

bahahahaha Shepherd!David's hair is so bad it's hilarious! This has got to be a running joke with the wig team at this point. "How awful can we make them look...." The crazy thing is, though, it makes me wonder if Josh Dallas could pull off longer hair (like Robert Carlyle length or longer)...if it wasn't a totally awful wig.
