Guys I need help with food.

Specifically Graham crackers.

What do they taste like?

Kid wants to make smores with his aunt this weekend and I'm tasked with buying the crackers. We don't have them here.

The marshmallow are foul too but they are available at least.

Are the crackers sweet or savoury? Wheaty? What do they taste like?

Blasphemy!

Seriously s’mores are soooo good. They’re ooey gooey and perfect. Graham crackers have a honey sweetness but their role really is more to hold the s’more so it’s unlikely you’ll notice the taste. The chocolate and marshmallow are what matters here.

Yeah, good for her for getting a TV writing gig, but I can't say I'm going to miss her "reporting" at all. I will, however, miss the comedy of her asking SA questions about Laurel. Good times.

Good. She won't be twisting reports about Arrow anymore. Good luck to All American, though.

She’s going to pitch a character for KC on her first day. Her name is going to be Laurel and she’s going to get a BF named Oliver (whose sleeping with her sister but it’s still tru luv).

You know, Beth started as a writers assistant. It's not too far-fetched to imagine that 6 years from now, there'll be a show being pitched by show runner Natalie Abrams at The CW with that storyline starring KC :P

I don't understand why she can't find work besides the terrible acting. She's obviously got someone on a noose at CW, why can't they just send her somewhere else.

Because no other self-respecting showrunner/producer would take her? :P

I always imagined the Godfather or Godmother at CW would ring someone on some show up and force KC on them. One of those new ghastly looking shows like Roswell.

CW person might not be high enough in the food chain to get KC her own show. Or KC desperately wants to stay on Arrow (although the reason escapes me).

CW network decisions need to get a full chapter in the Tell-All book.

I blame Tom Wolfe.  He created the New Journalism where the writer puts his/her perceptions and feelings into it rather than trying for objective.

Chico, on the other hand, just seems incompetent.

Marshmallows are a weakness of mine so the idea that they can taste bad blows my mind.

I love roasting marshmallows over a fire. Forget the chocolate and the graham crackers.  Carefully roasting the marshmallow till the outside is golden and bubbly, and then pulling the outside off and eating it and roasting the inside some more till it gets golden and bubbly.  Mmmmm....

When my kid was young, on Victoria Day we would have a firepit in the back yard and invite friends over to roast hot dogs and marshmallows on sticks over the fire.  We had really mean neighbours and they would call the fire department on us to report a fire. The first year, the sirens coming and the firemen coming down the driveway scared us but they just checked that it was safe and left.  The second and subsequent years, we'd great each other, offer the fire fighters some food (they always refused) and they'd leave with a "See you next year."

And they still called the fire department every year @statsgirl? Sheesh some people!!!!!

haha you guys are going to turn your noses up at us! We do not have anything to make fire and I don't want them making fire (every time we go out we wonder what ghastly thing they will do while we're gone) so likely they are going to use the airfryer or a blow torch!

Fitbit crisis temporarily averted! Hubs (who REALLY understands my brand of crazy so well) had a secret draw full of pedometers he was given by work for free. He said he was keeping them in case I had a meltdown about losing the Fitbit one day. So I am using one of them to track my steps until I decide what Fitbit to buy! There are so many out there I'm overwhelmed!!!!!!

Does your oven have a broiler? That’s usually what I use to make toasted marshmallow at home.

I understand not wanting to make a fire, it's a real danger in your part of the world, but a blowtorch is too intense.  Something about like a bunsen burner's strength.

I want to understand not making a fire but don't think I can get there.   I loved my fir pit next to my above ground pool.   Get outta the pool,  drink wine and roast marshmallows.

Kathryn would make a great BC since she a trained martial artist. Of course in Hollywood they'll cast a young skinny actress and use an easily spotted stunt double.

The men can be any age while the women have to be in their 20's.

Remember the new Nathan Fillion show where his love interest is almost two decades younger than he is?

I've been watching Carter, a new show where Jerry O'Connell stars as an actor who plays a detective on TV who during the hiatus consults with a small town police department. It's created by one of the Kids In The Hall writers, and it's fun and funny but I mention it here because O'Connell's love interest is actually older than he is if only  by a few months.  Since she's played by Sydney Tamiia Poitier, she's absolutely gorgeous, but still it's nice to see a show where the woman is age appropriate for the guy.

@scarynikki12 our marshmallows taste really awful for some reason. My friend fed me ones she got from the US and they were a lot nicer than all the brands here.

You might then consider making them from scratch.  They really aren't that hard.

I'll tell them to use the grill (broiler as you call it) like @lemotomato suggested!

The air fryer would be good if out doesn't send things flying inside.

There will be no fire pits!!! They'll burn the house down!

@scarynikki12 did you use dark choc? I grabbed 70% choc to reduce the sweetness.

Milk Chocolate all the way!

Dark might still taste good but it won't be a real s'more.

I'm making a pav next week @BkWurm1

Soooo much better than marshmallows ??

I was out buying clothes for the husband and stumbled on a market stall selling cheap passionfruit. I've been lamenting that I can't make pavlova without passionfruit and there was this fruit stall in the middle of town with a table of passion fruit. It's meant to be. ?

I will still not know what a smore tastes like since it's the kids making them not me. But I'll  get them to take a pic of butchered Aussie made smores for you lot.

Lil Sis did a test run. Used 2 marshmallows and said it was way too sweet! Going to use one, chopped up into four pieces.

Booohooo I need to whinge!

I am fasting today (500 cals) but I made a lovely mini tiramisu cake for dessert yesterday so I am using up half my calories for a tiny piece of that tonight which means my poor self has to live off 250 cals during the day! There's a lot of watery soup waiting for me today *wails*

Can you save it for tomorrow or is that a fast day too?

It's Ramadan and there is fasting here from 5 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. My admiration to those who can do it.

I can but it's more fresh today! I have a thing about my food being fresh!

I will see how I fare in a few hours! I have some miso soup, a mandarin and two slices of sweet potato! If I spread that out I will most likely make it! I am not actually hungry (I am a weirdo who rarely gets hungry) I just crave food lol! I feel stuffed to the gills right now but am craving jalapeno chips and hot chocolate!

I did a lot of reading on the 5:2 eating plan so I don't eat from 12am to 1pm to try and get the most health benefits from the fasting day.

Hehe no fast day tomorrow!!!! Am going out for Thai and then making chicken bacon sandwiches for dinner!!!!!!!

I will be very curious what you guys come up with.  If it's too sweet, it might be too much chocolate, but that varies.  Usually, here they use one marshmallow but one of the big puffy ones.  And if the marshmallow is getting melted there should be no need to chop it.

It will be sweet, but different levels of sweet with the chocolate and the graham offsetting the more purely sugary goo of the marshmallow.

Huh...not sure how to process that.  On the one hand, I don't like raspberries.  On the other, chocolate makes everything awesome.  I still have my stuff to make them so maybe next time I do it I'll add strawberries or something.

Chocolate with raspberries is awesome.  I make a chocolate truffle cake that's pretty dense and we add a raspberry sauce (raspberries pureed with a little icing sugar) and it's so good.

So Arrow dropped on Netflix last night and I'm having trouble even getting through 6x17.  Because it seems so... is dumb the right word?  I could use some reassurances that its worth watching and not skipping straight to the finale.

Yep. I pretty much agree with this list.

Ah, yeah that one was extremely puzzling. And without proper pay off since SPOILER it wasn’t revealed that Dig was under mind control by the end of the season.

That reminded me, I did the cauliflower rice a week or so ago. It was pretty good, I added carrot, zucchini and bell pepper. I feel like I still have to work on it a bit. I may have ground the cauliflower up too much.

So, I just saw the episode count for The CW shows and I am perplexed as to Riverdale getting the 23 episode count. Not that I'm watching anymore since I got bored by the show by mid-season 2, but still, I don't think the show does well with a full episode order. Granted I'm only judging by season 2.

I am surprised by Supernatural being bumped down to 20 episodes.

You are a highly intelligent and deep person. You consider yourself to be a student of life, and you have a number of diplomas that prove this to be the case. Beyond that, you are constantly consuming information and adding to your already impressive storehouse of wisdom. You crave the company of experts in their field and those with something new to teach you.

That's what all my friends got!!!! Now I'm wondering what the heck I answered to get Vegas! Going to try it on Hubs tonight!

I reckon it's the buffet and me saying I hated/won't go to museums!
