Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode

I think Bo and Hope grew stale years ago.  What else can be written for them as a couple?  They've done every storyline imaginable already.  Who's the daddy (twice), back from the dead, held captive by Stefano, kidnapping, adultery, multiple weddings, long lost child with ex-lover, dead child, near fatal illness, psychic visions, amnesia, addiction to pills, prison,  That's just off the top of my head. There are many others.  At least with Hope and Aiden its something fresh.  There's still so much about Aiden's past we don't know that could generate lots of stories.  Pairing Hope with Aiden has really revitalized her character.  Bo's had other love interests  so it wouldn't be difficult to pair him with someone else. Let there be a triangle for a little while then let Bo and Hope go their separate ways.

I especially agree that "Pairing Hope with Aiden has really revitalized her character." I am loving her working with Rafe though--I have had my ups and downs with him, but I have always dug them together. I am fanwanking that he is starting to realize how he feels but will hold back because of Aiden. Then after whatever blows up with Clyde, she and Aiden will end, and Rafe will be ready to confess his feelings, then Bo will show up. Rafe will again hold back and a real triangle can form. Soapy angst, old school style.

I really hope the result of Xander choking Nicole out is a nice long two week coma for her so she can wake up with a different personality. I don't even recognize her anymore, it's like every little bit of her fight and survival skills died with EJ. Such a waste of a good, meaty character on useless drips like Eric and Dan. They should have kept Xander, redeemed him before he went all sociopathic and dumped Eric instead. They really wrote him into a corner, they should have made him a DiMera. Also dropping GV would save money and his character is irredeemable, his crimes against Nicole are equivalent and as equally damaging as wrapping a coil around her neck and trying to choke her to death. I feel like that's what he did with her personality. I agree with Kitty Redstone Dan, Xander, Brady (and Eric) need to be thrown in the river but I wouldn't stab them first I'd give them whatever poisonous vial Romeo took. If they had the strength of a thousand men (which the show wants us to believe) it would dispatch them straight. Give their screentime to Rafe and Chad. I've been waiting for a Rafe/Nicole hook-up since they shared their first scenes. Frankly you can throw Abby in the river too, Chad can be with Theresa.

I still don't understand why anyone thought it would be a good idea to give these two fools a baby. Please just send him to boarding school or one of Victor's international compounds.

Did Brady seriously have the NERVE to comment on Theresa's apartment and baby provisions when Brady didn't even buy the baby stuff and get his room set up, Maggie did! Not to mention Brady is a 40 year old man living with his grandfather who only has a job because of his grandfather because he has the IQ of a broken light bulb. All today confirmed is that he'll be banging Theresa by the end of the year- I don't take anything Brady says seriously. I also don't buy this crap the show is trying to sell me- if he got over her hitting John with the fire poker long enough to have heartfelt convos with her and give her pep talks. he'll get over losing his infant bride.

I have several questions

1-Why did Xander need his henchwoman to tamper with the lights at the TV station? Why couldn't he do it?

2-Why did they assume that Nicole would be the last person out the door?  If she had left before others, the knocking out the lights would have been for naught.

3-DId they just get lucky that the security guard would be sick, or did they arrange it?  Are there no backup guards to come in when the guy is unavailable?

4-This is a TV station.  Does it shut down at dusk?  Are there no news people there doing the evening and late night news? Are there no techs running the equipment overnight?

 

5-Did we ever find out why Xander and Serena were smuggling diamonds? Eric assumes it was to finance terrorists or something, but why couldn't it just be for personal gain?

Maybe it's because I don't give a damn about the stupid elephant/diamonds, but why does Xander care if Nicole knows anything?  They got the diamonds from the elephant.  Xander and Serena can leave Salem.  Perhaps I missed something in all the repetitive conversations.  Mostly what I got from this SL is Serena is boring, Eric is dumb, Nicole is completely pathetic, Xander had possibilities, but true to form the idiot writers ruined him, and Dan should not exist.  Did I miss the part where Nicole can do some major damage to Xander in some way?  Send him to prison?

I'm guessing Xander thinks Nicole can do damage by exposing it in a magazine, television show, or whatever since she's a journalist and send him back to prison, someplace he doesn't want to be. I mean who really wants to go back to prison.

Gosh and Golly and GEE WILLIKERS, whats the Salem wimmins folk gonna do when they realize that it's actually LEGAL to not kiss the ass of any and all men who demand it?  That there's an alternate universe where the wimmins don't have to settle for the tiny-brained men that drag their knuckles around town?

 

Not that all the wimmins are on the side of the angels.  Butt-faced Maggs with her poisoned smile and her my-farts-smell-like-PUDDING! attitude is as bad as the guys.  Her and Victor bemoaning the loss of Melanie, and the horror of Theresa birthing the latest little victim to that family (Victor is currently on my shit list), and then Victor praising her for...for WHAT, exactly?? For directing the staff in where to put the baby crap that she ordered and had delivered?  Yeah, she must have worked up a real sweat.

 

But Maggie, being the hag that she is, she managed to badmouth Theresa, all the while with that smile on her face...

How I wish her dentures would fly out of her mouth and hit Victor in the nuts.

 

At least we know that Dr. Daniel Jonas, Prince Among Men, will NEVER be wasting a moment on porn, not as long as he can swoon in the hotness that he thinks is himself!  He was strutting and jiving and just so HAPPY with himself, even alone at the apartment.  The only thing he didn't do was caress his own chest.  Then Eric stops by, and Mercy Maud and Mary Above US, actually tells Daniel to mind his own business.  The nerve of that guy!  Who does he think he is??  An ex-priest or something?

 

But nothing can even dampen Daniel's enthusiasm for himself.  Because he KNOWS he the smartest stud in all of Salem.  He's got the strut to prove it.

And thank God he put that little lady Nicole in her proper place!  Nicole said she had "a LOT of explaining to do", and Our Stud told her, "Don't make me wait".

Makes you just want to swoon, doesn't it?

Or maybe, like me, it makes you want to bang him in the head with a hammer.  And again.

 

Thank God Show was intent on giving us all the great stuff today!  We also got to see Brady mock Theresa for not having her place set up for the baby, and then told her in detail how he wanted to physically harm her.  Guy is a charmer!  She made Mel go away, and now he has nobody to tell him how MANLY and HANDSOME and SMART he is.  He just IS every woman's dream, isn't he?  So charming, so confident, so, so., ......so.....

Yeah.....nothing for Theresa to worry about there.......cuz Brady's DNA is just hopping with smmmmaaaaarrts, right?  

When I'm finished using the hammer on Daniel, I'm sure I have a few more swings left for Brady.

 

At least Show stuck with tradition today, and kept Nicole needy and apologetic, kept Theresa needy enough for Brady to treat like garbage.  Because a day in Salem without a woman taking crap from a sociopathic man is like a day without sunshine.

 

Xander - don't care, he can't leave fast enough now.

I'm loving bitchy Paige. It's a shame because I'm sure they'll reconcile her with JJ and she'll go back to being a Stepford girlfriend, but for now I'm enjoying it.

I was thinking more John Travolta's Staying Alive strut but this works even better. Daniel is a pushy, over confidant (with no cause to be) smug turd isn't it. I thought it was hilarious that Eric had to put some base in his voice and ask him to back off and respect that. Notice how Daniel did. If that had been Nicole, the threats would have ensued. Hilarious how he thinks he has a right to know everyone's business but acts like it is an affront to the very laws of nature if anyone asks him to share info he knows. I hate this hypocrite with the fire of a thousand suns. 

 

Did anyone else notice that the elephant was actually in Daniel's son playtoy bin? WTF?!?! Still want to know what the hell kind of child would be interested in playing with a Pier One Ceramic elephant on a big ass wooden base. This show. 

 

LOL at Eric and his sudden mad deduction skills. Eric not only had the Salem brain today but he most have also borrowed some from the surrounding towns (Eurup maybe?) because he figured out what was in the elephant without any clues or evidence. It was just based on the size of the hiding place and being in the Congo. Good for him. Now I am waiting patiently for the Nicole was Right choir to sing their Hosannas from on high. $50 bucks says her choir will sing nowhere near as loud or as long (translation: everlasting) as the permanent Daniel in-house choir. She will be lucky to get one verse.

 

It has been nice seeing Eric put the pieces together.  The scenes between Eric and Serena weren't bad but again, for something that has been dragging on for eons, the reveal once again lacked resonance and import. 

 

Love how Victor makes it sound like Maggie actually built a nursery from scratch with her own two claws instead of what she must likely did - directed manual laborers while she sat in her rocking chair thumbing through fabric swatches and paint sample chips.

 

Got damn!!!! Caroline's macaroons were as big as biscuits and looked semi-burned.  

 

I love how Abby has to keep going over to the Dimeras to repeat shit she said the last time she left. 

 

Why yes Chad, Abby did expect you to beg and plead. The Horton poontang is a potent thing which casts a spell which no man dare resist and brings them to the yard for Horton milkshake. This is why your taking back of your declaration of love does not compute and consequently activated the Horton slapping hand. 

 

I just can't with either Brady or Theresa. I actually think Brady has valid reasons to despise Theresa. I just don't think driving Melanie away should be #1 with a bullet. The Jawn poker incident and making him think he did it was the most awful thing Theresa did. Plying him with drugs? Meh. Brady should be in charge of his own sobriety. I see Theresa as merely have unclean hands and malice intent with the drug thing because she wanted to keep him high to keep him with her for selfish gold digging reasons but it is not like she tied him down shot him up with heroin and shoved a funnel in his mouth forcing Oxycotin down his gullet.

I have to admit kids find the strangest things to latch onto. My daughter at age 4 fell in love with my ceramic angel, you know the willow tree angels? I had a table that had all my willow angels and my daughter found the garden one and latched onto it for dear life! She slept with the angel she showered with the angel she would cry if I took it away. One day she woke up and put the angel back on the table and never touched it again. She is now addicted to a princesses Elsa flash light that she carries around everywhere and she will be 8 next month.

I can't believe they made Nicole be so dumb yesterday. She just read about Xander being a murderer, she knows he's interested in seeing her that night, yet she blithely ignores her co-worker's concern and just sets out to leave the building alone and in the dark.....she's SO much smarter than that. I totally get why Brady's so mean to Theresa -- he's not without fault, for sure, but Theresa is simply reaping what she's sown. I have hope for her!! That motherhood and her baby will give her new perspective, etc. But as of right now? She has been an awful human being, especially to Brady.

So are we  not getting any follow up on Brady realizing that Victor was a horrible person to Kimberly? Not just a generally horrible person, but specifically to Kim? Brady seemed surprised that there was a history between them, and I thought it would lead to...something . I guess acknowledging that Tate will be living under the same roof as his maternal grandmother's rapist would cut into Brady's berating Theresa time, so it had to be dropped.

Why oh why did Tomsell have to destroy Xander..The chemistry between Nicole and Xander is so palpable..I wanted to see them get together to cause mayhem in Salem..Salem needs  a dark power couple..Finally Nicole got a man that only had eyes for her and they had to make him a psycho, so that God a.k.a Daniel can remain on top...They did the same thing to Sami with EJ..Damn you Ken Corday....I weep for the greatness that Xcole could have been...This show is very misogynistic ...The scenes between Nicole and Xander were very disturbing today...

Are we supposed to be concerned that Mags might be sick because I know I could give a crap less.

 

The actresses that play Nicole, Theresa, Eve and Serena have the talent to rise above their strange dialogue and even stranger reactions and to make me care about the characters.  Yes, they do awful things but there is a humanity and realness to them that makes me want them to turn their lives around and become better people.  I don't feel that way about Jenn or Abby because they are unlikeable--even as talented as MR is, she can't make judgmental seem charming.

 

I think Rafe ranks right up there with Daniel and Eric in smugness and arrogance.  The actor's talentlessness is even more apparent when he shares scenes with the excellent WK and KA, soI can't cheer for his character taking in the bad guys, even if he kills Clyde.  Rafe was so cruel to Jordan when he cheated on her and he didn't seem to comprehend why.

 

All in all, kind of a crappy day in Days.

Ok I may be the wicked witch of the west when I say this and I apologize in advance if I tick anyone off but I think theresa deserves everything Brady says to her, I think that after every thing she has done to him is awful and if I were brady I'd treat her the same way he is. Sadly I know it won't last long but I'm hoping he never goes back to her. This is the evil part... I hope tate dies and this is why, theresa shouldn't be saddled with a baby, she should be the bad girl in town and a baby will hold her back, and if tate dies then brady can cut ties with theresa and never be in a scene with her again

It is so contrived as well, all of this Sparkle love...Kate is right to dislike him, Sparkle better be careful, she is deadly when her kids and grandkids' happiness are in jeopardy..Just ask Chloe, Nick, Shawn-Douglas, Hope and Sami...lol..She never tried to kill Hope and Shawn-Douglas, but she did scheme against them, to ensure that Billie and Philip would get their hearts' desire...

I know it's a soap cliche, but I kind of would like to see Theresa dial back the uber-bitchiness and just relate to everyone like a normal person instead of a rabid wolverine and I think taking care of Tate will do that.  Theresa's having a baby now does not mean that she has to become nicey-nice.  She can still have an edge while obviously loving her child-kind of like Kate or Sami.  Neither one of them lost their ability to scheme after having kids--Theresa could be the same.

 

And I also find JL to be such a lovely and gifted actress that I want her character to be liked by at least someone on the current canvas.

Oh I couldn't care less what is motivating Justin's team Paulson-ness- i don't need genuine motivation from Justin or anyone else (though I very much believe he likes Paul)- I was team Paulson from 11-26-14 and that hasn't changed. Keep pushing Paulson, Justin and Victor and Will (Paulson's biggest fan- he's practically gift-wrapping Sonny and handing him over to Paul)- I don't even need Paulson to last, just need them to get in bed at least once before August comes and I stop watching.

I like her  too, but I think that there is alot that we do not know about Theresa.  She did not need a baby at this time...She grew up in LA, with occasional appearances in Salem as kid with Andrew...It would be nice to get some backstory  on Theresa. I never pictured Jeannie, Shane and Kim's daughter to be this Uber bitch....I expected her to be a spoiled rich brat... There is no way that she should be a scheming golddigger. Jeannie and Andrew grew up in the Dimera mansion, when it was the Donovan mansion...I am sure that Tomsell forgot that piece of history....

Aiden/Maria/Hope
Aiden in his office tells his secretary Maria that he wants his private information to stay private. Hope enters his office and asked if she heard what he told his secretary Maria. Hope doesn't want it to be an issue as he's dropping Clyde as a client. Hope tells Aiden that she overheard Aiden and Rafe's conversation at the park. Hope says Clyde isn't a suspect in any investigation and how her hunches aren't always right. Hope says she was wrong about Aiden and she doesn't want their relationship ruined. Aiden asks that Hope doesn't want him to drop Clyde as a client.

 

Hope says that's up to Aiden to decide. Aiden asks where it's coming from and Hope says she realizes how much it hurts Aiden. Hope is happy that Aiden is in her life and Aiden reciprocates. Hope says she's not worried about Clyde and doesn't see a reason why Aiden can't keep Clyde as a client. Hope says she's got to go and make it worth Aiden's wiles later. Hope leaves.

 

Clyde enters and Aiden has papers for him to sign and Clyde wants to know what Aiden wanted to see him about. Aiden wants to talk about tax benefits to starting a charitable trust since he donated to the hospital. Clyde is in favor of exploring and how Aiden is the best attorney in town. Clyde talks about being a father and talks about Chase before leaving.

 

Maggie/Dan
At Vic's Maggie asks where's Victor and Dan says he had a meeting. Dan says Nicole is wanting to see Vic and Maggie finds that odd. Dan says he and Nicole have turned a corner and thinks he should call her. Maggie keels over and Dan rushes to her side. Maggie says she knows what's wrong as she didn't eat all day by cancelling a luncheon. Dan says he's going to order a full work up and he's going to take her to the hospital. Maggie says Nicole is coming and Dan says he'll call her and tell her not to come, that simple.

 

Maggie is at the hospital and doesn't want Dan informing Brady or Victor. Dan is asking a lot of questions and Maggie wants Dr. Jacobs. Maggie wants something to eat and says she's not going anywhere and Dan says neither is he. Dan gives her medicine in the form of glucose to drink and Maggie is ready to check out but before leaving she wants to take a peek at Tate. They head off.

 

After seeing Tate, Dan asks if she's fine which Maggie says yes. Maggie says Theresa loves Tate but she's not ready which Dan agrees thinking she can't take care of herself. Maggie thinks Eric can talk to Theresa and mediate between Brady and Theresa. Dan says Eric is dealing with issues and how Eric is stressed out and hope he's ok. 

 

Serena/Eric

Serena says that Eric can't push Xander too hard. Eric asks what's the matter but don't bother and gets ready to leave. Serena says don't as Xander is leaving Salem. Eric asks where he is. Serena doesn't know where he is and there's no point but Eric says he's going to find out. Serena says Eric doesn't know anything and Eric knows she committed a crime and how his father is a police commissioner. Eric says he thought Serena loved him and Serena says she does. Eric said she wouldn't lie if she did and for her to tell the truth or he'll go to Xander for the truth. Serena says she'll tell him everything but a promise must be made first. Serena wants it to be only between them or she won't tell him and she says she was covering her ass about the blood diamonds. She wants Eric to digest everything first and she'll give him the whole truth and if he takes the info out of the room they'll both be destroyed.

 

Eric says he's not going anywhere until he's heard her out and to start talking. Serena says she wishes she never got involved with Xander. When Eric got his calling to become a priest and knew they weren't all that serious but has fallen hard for him and hoped he felt the same way but that God had a different purpose for him. Eric says Serena said she understood. Serena says she did but was lonely but Xander was there and fun and thought he was fun. Eric says he thought he was a good judge of character and how long before she jumped in bed with him. Serena was seeing Xander before Eric left and Serena says she's no saint and Xander was completely opposite of Eric and talked her into doing things and it was exciting and Xander's idea was gonna be the time of their lives. Eric says it gave her a rush and Serena says she was broke and bored. Eric says ripping off people was a lot of fun. Serena says she didn't think it through and how Xander explained and there was no turning back.

Eric says that Serena already moved on because she couldn't wait until Eric was gone. Serena says it was emotional saying goodbye to Eric even though she wanted him to be happy. Serena says when they were packing Eric's things and Eric had hers and had the elephant with the diamonds in it. Serena says she stayed in Africa for another month with Xander and Eric says to have fun times. Serena says that's when she found out about Xander being violent and his temper. Eric asks if Xander hurt her and Serena says that two of Xander's associates hurt her and knew she had to get away and didn't want to be on Xander's bad side.

 

Serena says she waited on instructions from Xander. Serena says Xander wasn't interested in her to begin with and how she did research and found out more frightening things about him and couldn't wait to get away. Years later had to have the diamonds delivered. Serena shows Eric the photo of him in bed with the elephant in the background. She says that Xander didn't give her a whole lot of time to find them. Eric says she did it under the pretext of meeting him and wanted to get in his bed so she can grab the diamonds. Serena says it was about the diamonds at first and didn't love him but that's changed and how Eric is everything and fell in love with him. Eric says she has a way of showing it and Eric storms out and Serena hopes Eric will let it go.

 

Nicole/Xander
Nicole asks Xander what he's doing at her office and Nicole says she would call and Xander says she hasn't. Nicole says it's been a long day and Xander flashes to himself wrapping a string. Xander says he just has to see Nicole. Nicole says it's sweet but she has to be somewhere else and Xander says here we go again asks if it's another guy. Nicole says they're not going down this road again and Xander says he was joking. Nicole says she's meeting colleagues for drinks and will be late if she doesn't go. Nicole asks how Xander got in with the front doors being locked. Xander said he came through the front and Nicole phone rings which it's Dan.

 

Nicole answers and Dan's cancel and says they can get together later. Nicole says another time and hangs up. Xander asks who it is and Nicole says it was Sally. Xander says something must have come up and Nicole hopes Xander understands that she wants to reschedule. Xander says Nicole isn't interested in him and it's been something else with her and Xander says he doesn't like her and Nicole says tough luck. Xander grabs her arm. Nicole pulls away and calls for security and Xander says he's not here and Xander knew Nicole has been lying to him and to not do it again. Xander saw the caller ID and seen Dan on the phone and Nicole lead him on and it's a huge mistake. 

 

Nicole says Xander has been jealous of Dan so she didn't tell him that he called and Xander says he seen them kiss in the park. Xander wants to know if Dan is playing him too. Xander says he'll deal with her since they're alone, and will deal with Dan next. Nicole tries to release herself from Xander's grasp but can't and Xander says Nicole isn't smarter than him. Nicole grabs a stapler off her desk. Xander is able to knock it out of Nicole's hands and throws her against the window and has his hands wrapped around her throat.

 

Kate/Clyde

At the Square, Kate looks at Clyde's magazine covers. Kate is talking about the article and saying Will is a brilliant writer when Kate's phone rings. Kate missed an email about being summoned which Clyde thinks it's Victor but Kate says it's his mini me and leaves. Clyde gets a phone call from Stan and informs him about Hope entering the building and leaving alone and Clyde says to keep him posted.

 

Rafe/Justin/Kate
At TBD Justin knows that Vic gave Rafe orders to leave Clyde alone and now got Hope involved which is a bad move. Rafe says he doesn't owe Justin an explanation and that he tried getting Hope to back off. Justin says Rafe failed after promising to Victor that he wouldn't and to take his concerns to Victor not the police. Rafe says police has information and Justin says Vic has all the information that Rafe would have needed and Vic would have told him when he wanted to and to leave it alone. Justin wants to know if they can count on Rafe and Rafe said he'll drop it for now before leaving.

 

Justin meets with Kate and tells her the numbers are strong which Kate agrees. Kate says they, Justin has ideas on the new men's line which Kate says that's her job. Justin says Kate's job is what he says it is and they need a celebrity and tells her to hire Paul which Kate calls him insane. Justin says it's a brilliant move as Paul would target their demographics and has an International following especially in Japan. Kate calls Paul washed up and trying to split up Sonny and Will. Kate says Justin is getting back at Lucas for having sex with Adrienne and mentions Sonny and Will. Justin says Will is bringing his own misery. Justin says if they're marriage is strong then it will hold up and if not Will can look in the mirror and accept responsibility. Kate says they're not offering Paul a job and Justin says they will as Paul fell in their lap. Justin says John has a right to know his son and for Kate to do it. Kate tells Justin to do it and Justin asks if she's quitting as he thought the job was important to her or is she gonna have Clyde her sugar daddy take care of her. Kate gets up and reluctantly grabs Paul's photo and storms out.

 

Rafe/Hope

They meet at The Pub and talk about Stefano making a deal on tax charges. Hope knows it's not the reason Rafe wanted to meet. Rafe says he's dropping it and Hope says she's dropping it too. Rafe wants to know why and Hope says they got nothing and Clyde is good at covering his tracks and Vic gave her the same marriage. Hope says it's the only thing to do and doesn't want someone getting hurt. Hope says that Aiden was going to drop Clyde and that it would be a mad mistake. She tells Rafe that she told Aiden not to worry about Clyde. Hope thinks Clyde could go after Ciara or Gabi but when Clyde makes one mistake they'll take him down.

Look at abusive bitch Xander, abusing yet another woman. Nicole did have warning from Shrewena though but just didn't want to listen because of her personal dislike of her.

 

Now Sparkles is gonna be working for Vic and hired by Kate, boy is that gonna be fun for him if he accepts the job. I wonder how Sparkles will banter with Kate. That job offer will send Sneasel up the wall, into a hole or wherever Sneasel's go.

 

Dark Roast & Naggie passing judgment yet again on Theresa being able to take care of her own child. They haven't even seen the woman in action and already talking about her like Brady is any better. This is a man who can't even go through a full year of sobriety without trying to be in another relationship and wanting to get married and they say Theresa isn't ready. Just yesterday Brady was talking down to her and thinking the things she purchased for Tate just wasn't good enough. While Xander has his hands around Nicole's throat maybe he can tell Navidad to shoot Dark Roast, Naggie, and Dumbass Brady. 

 

If only Naggie keeled over onto a firepoker, eye first. We would all be put out of our misery.

 

I can understand Eric being upset to an extent because the women in his lives have done nothing but lie to him and use him. Maybe Eric should try men and date Sparkles, will make Sneasel even more crazy.

Oh I couldn't care less what is motivating Justin's team Paulson-ness- i don't need genuine motivation from Justin or anyone else (though I very much believe he likes Paul)- I was team Paulson from 11-26-14 and that hasn't changed. Keep pushing Paulson, Justin and Victor and Will (Paulson's biggest fan- he's practically gift-wrapping Sonny and handing him over to Paul)- I don't even need Paulson to last, just need them to get in bed at least once before August comes and I stop watching.

10 weeks to go until Tomsell's nightmare of a show is over...I never thought that in a million years that I would want Hackley back after what she did to Jessica on one life to live....I have never seen the show be this awful and I have stuck around for many bad storylines over the years: The Garden of Eden with Austin and Greta comes to mind.... Those two were the worst...Yikes! I hope that wherever Bo and Steve are being held in captivity, my beloved Jack is there too....That would be my only request from the new regime to make me forget the awfulness that was Dannifer..To think that Ken Corday actually believed that long-time viewers would buy that load of crap....Unbelievable!

Exactly..I love that about Kate, she goes the extra mile to protect and defend her kids and grandkids. I think it has to do with not being able to protect and defend Austin and Billie from Curtis' abuse, so she overcompensates with the others. She has always treated Lucas like her whipping boy, I have always felt that she does not respect him because he is the weakest out of all her kids...If it wasn't for Lucas, Kate would have gladly  let Sami die of a lethal injection....The Franco/Kate/Lucas/Sami storyline was so good and Kate was so deliciously evil in framing Sami for Franco's murder...

I am SO HERE for Supermodel Sparkle (lol I think this is the first time I've ever used any of the nicknames on here). I want them to cover him in like glitter so he can really sparkle down the runway, Twilight style (god that movie was awful).

 

Unfortunately, come August, I won't have a reason to watch anymore. The characters that made me start watching were Sami and Lucas (team Lumi forever) and once they ended, I stopped watching. I only came back for Sonny (I've loved Freddie Smith since his stint on 90210). Paul's pretty, but pretty can't hold my attention for too long when the couplings I root for are no more.

I have no problem with it! The more ties to Salem the better for me to enjoy his sparkliness...though I don't relish the thought of him getting together with Sneasel later.

 

I just think it's funny that Salem historically has been able to produce world-famous supermodels who only have to work in Salem.  Wasn't young Carrie the "face of tomorrow" or something like that before someone threw acid on her?  That's going back some.

Oh my god, I remember Nicole's early beginning as a model living in a dump, trying to hook Jensen Ackle's Eric, and being excited when she saw herself on Bella magazine.

 

That was when this show was actually campy fun and not the Judgmental Hypocrite Hour.

Finally Nicole got a man that only had eyes for her and they had to make him a psycho, so that God a.k.a Daniel can remain on top...They did the same thing to Sami with EJ..Damn you Ken Corday....

 

 

Sami and Nicole aren't the right kind of women according to Ken Corday so they can't have a man who loves them and only them.  Sami wasn't even allowed to be upset when Rafe got involved with Carrie, or EJ lied to her about Kristen drugging and raping Eric, and cheating on her.  How dare Sami have a mind and opinion of her own.  How terrible of Sami to be angry at Slappy.  Sami and Nicole aren't even allowed to be bad anymore.  At least back when Sami, Kate, and Nicole were all battling each other, they got to do some horrible things.  Now they just get criticized and trashed on a daily basis for daring to exist.

Well, Maggie can't say she wasn't warned.  She was told over and over and OVER again to at least take that stick out of her ass when she went to bed, that leaving it in constantly could cause cramps.  Thank God she had her baby boy there to rush her and her hair to the hospital.  Daniel wanted to notify Brady and Victor but I guess Maggie's daughters are on the "Do Not Call" list.  You think Maggie ever wonders why her daughters keep giving her fake phone numbers?  

 

Gosh, I sure hope nothing happens to Maggie!  Or, if something does happen, I hope she goes quick.  Because if it's a long, drawn-out illness, we'll have to listen to that horse's ass simpering and smirking and being SO brave in her collection of Joan Collins pantsuits.  I really do hate the hag.

 

The writing for Show's leading men is so strange.  Daniel, Brady, and Eric are all written as such stunted man children.  They all have the self-awareness of a rock, Brady is a physical bully, especially to women and people smaller than himself.  Daniel is emotionally abusive to any and all women he's involved with.  All three have virtually no concern for anything or anyone that doesn't directly impact them.  They're all selfish to a stunning degree.

 

Eric, today, was a case study in narcissism.  Serena is telling him about her reaction to him telling her that he was giving his life to God and apparently he's surprised that she didn't embrace it as enthusiastically as he did.  She's telling him about stealing blood diamonds and being involved with dangerous criminals, and his priority is being mad at her because she also didn't take up celibacy as he did?  She betrayed him because she had sex with someone else, even though he dumped her for God?  

Throughout all of their conversation, Eric concentrated almost exclusively on HIS feelings, on his obvious distaste and disapproval that Serena not only has sex but enjoys it, that HE feels betrayed because she had a life without him after he left her both physically and emotionally.  The guy is really not all there.  

Show didn't do the portrayal of priests any favor by having this narcissistic, selfish, self-involved, body-hating man child be a member of the clergy.  IMO he's actually pretty creepy.

 

We've got Daniel demanding the wimmins walk 5 paces behind him, we've got Brady demanding the wimmins be afraid of him, and we've got Eric who desperately wants to forget about that icky sex thing, or at least make sure everybody keeps their eyes closed.

 

The loonies are loose in Salem and it's not a good look.

Because they want to keep Nicole in the lead for Most Shit Upon Character. No family in town, dead babies, having her abusive/porn past and every mistake she's ever made thrown in her face at every turn,  and only recently declared "worthy" of Daniel's screwed up version of love.  I used to think Theresa would take Nicole's place as the show's whipping post and she'd be allowed to have some semblance of happiness, but then they went and rewarded Theresa with a baby. 

 

As for the dead babies: I've always wanted Nicole to have a kid because she so desperately wants one. Now I fear a miracle pregnancy will come via Daniel. I'd rather the show continue to punish her with infertility or hook up with Eric again, if they finally deem her worthy of motherhood.

Yeah, I know. Babies aren't a reward or a punishment in real life, but in Salem, they are everything. They tie you to another character, they give you a chance at redemption, etc.  Then they're sent away to boarding school and return SORASed, giving you even more story lines to be involved in.
