I have so much hatred for the Felon and all his enablers, from the people who voted for him, voted third party, or didn't vote because they didn't like either option.  We are going to be in WWIII before too long, and this time the USA will be on the wrong side of history.  

I have so much admiration for President Zelenskyy.  

When the reporter (I think it was) or whoever he was called President Zelenskyy out on how he was dressed and why he wasn't wearing a suit, I wanted someone to say, President Musk is always dressing sloppy and wears a ball cap; why don't you call him out on that?

There were so many ways to prevent this.  Not electing him in 2016.  Republicans having the balls to convict him in two impeachment trials.  Merrick Garland pursuing cases against him sooner.  Not electing him in 2024.   So to anyone who had the chance to stop him and didn't I would say go to hell but we are already here.

These were never Trump's, or any other president's, property.  They belong in the National Archives.  They are the property of the nation, not one petty little tinpot dictator.

At least Zelenskyy was dressed like a commander in chief. Our president dresses  like 16 year old boy.

There is no defense. Absolutely none.

I just saw Little Marco on CNN shout-talking the lie. Once again, it’s almost enviable how Republicans can swallow their pride and follow their leader. Almost.

If Zelenskyy had snatched something and thrown it, I would not have blamed him. And WTF was Vance even doing there?

I would want Zelenskyy to know Americans stand with him. It’s just the government that’s being disrespectful.

We lived in England for almost 10 years and my late mother visited every year, sometimes twice a year because she loved England (and missed us I think), she was a staunch royalist and deeply admired Queen Elizabeth.  Her father was based out of England during WWII (as many Canadians were) and she would be so heartbroken right now. 

If Trump manages to ruin the relationship we had with the UK it's yet another reason to add to my many reasons for loathing him, but this one will be just a little more personal.

If you read the entire post, the 15 minutes was to boil a pot of pasta. The amount of gas or electric that would take is PENNIES. 

It takes very little energy to put a chicken in a pan and throw it in an oven. Maybe 5 minutes? The oven does the rest. You have to make sacrifices when you have a family to feed. But of course, that's your choice and no one is begrudging your choice. Just stating the facts.

And for the record, I know how to cook, and I cook most of my meals.  It takes time and energy.  A quick google search finds a pasta primavera recipe that takes about 30 minutes including prep and cook time (but doesn't factor in cleanup time).  A lot of people don't have that kind of time whether they're between shifts or just tired from standing for 8 or more hours.

Housing projects are based on income, and certainly not HALF of one's welfare check. It's a sliding scale.

No one said poor people are lazy. That word came into play when we were talking about fresh chicken vs Costco roasters. If someone can't afford a ready-made roaster, I simply said there are cheaper options. The word lazy came into play because some people don't want to boil water. Fine. That's their prerogative, but IMO, they're not helping their situation. And now they're too lazy to clean up after themselves? After sitting down for a half hour or so to eat, I think we can all afford a few minutes to pick up the paper plates and throw them in the garbage (if one doesn't have plastic plates).

Zelenskyy should never sign that agreement anyway. Trump will not support them at all and will sell them out to putin the minute it's signed. All he wants is the mineral rights nothing else. He has no intention of of meaningful support of the Ukraine.

Hi everyone,

how are you doing?

I’d like to leave a quick reminder that we’re a community made up of individuals from all walks of life. Our backgrounds, upbringings and experiences are as diverse as this community is and so are the lives we lead. We don’t have the same support system, we don’t have access to the same things, we’re not the same people. Therefore, life’s challenges impact each of us differently. Even when we’re faced with the same challenges, the impact they have on us is determined by the circumstances that are unique to our lives and something that may seem trivial to us can be more of a challenge to someone else for the simple reason that they're not us, don't have our background and don't lead our lives. 

Hence, the encouragement to take a moment before posting and put ourselves in our fellow community member’s shoes: How would we feel if we were them? Does it make sense when looking at it from their perspective? How would we feel if they replied to us with the reply we’re about to make?

On that note, kindly remember to keep criticism constructive and to "listen" not with the intent to be right but to understand. Use “I” statements to express a differing opinion as "I" statements allow us to disagree while recognizing the other person’s opinion as equally valid and state our opinion without shaming or passing judgment.

Make the excuses all you want. But one more example of trumps campaign promises not being worth squat.  

Diplomacy is harder than Trump makes it out to be.  You can't bully the whole world to your whim and desires.

Not trying to make excuses. I watched the entire thing go down. Vance didn't have to throw fuel on the fire...and I could see Trump starting to put his hand/arm out as if to stop him, but it was too late. Had that incident not happen, and if they gave Z a chance to talk, there might have been a different outcome. Unfortunately, we'll never know.

I remember watching a news item where someone was sneering at the way you can buy two rolls of TP or the really small containers of dish detergent and the like at places such as Dollarama and saying "see this is why poor people stay poor, they make stupid choices".  Another panelist had to point out that mostly if someone is buying these items at Dollarama for financial reasons then it's because they do not have the money to pay any more than that at the time.  

Buying in bulk or buying multiple items when they are on sale is smart but it also requires you to have the money in hand to do it.

This reminds me of Sir Terry Pratchett and how expensive it is to be poor. This idea is known as the "Boots" theory of socioeconomic unfairness.  You can't afford the good boots, so you buy the less expensive ones, but more often.

I'm able to afford the large pack, and freeze either after it is cooked, or before. I save money this way, but someone struggling can't do this.
