I think if not Trump then his supporters are crazy enough to do something on Inauguration day and make it look like it's antifa or just plain Democrats doing it.  I might sound paranoid but these extreme MAGA people are unhinged.

It's been absolutely fascinating to see how Trump and his supporters often talk about January 6th. One minute it's described as a "day of love" and his supporters were just out there "fighting for what's right!" and going on about how Trump totally won that election and should've been reinstated to office.

The next Trump and his supporters are all, "It wasn't me/us/them, it was Antifa and BLM and the FBI and others secretly pretending to be MAGA and trying to make us look bac!"

So...which is it, people? You don't get to have it both ways. Both stories can't be true. Trump and his supporters had the audacity to do what they did that day, the very least they could do is own it.

(But of course, if they did that, then they may actually have to take responsiblity and be held accountable for their actions on that day! And lord knows we can't have that!)

Wow.  Periods was the one thing they did a really good job with education wise.  We got the whole scientific breakdown of what our bodies went through and a rundown of all supplies.  My ten year old self was like, well ok then.

When I was 10, my mom showed me what pads were.  I learned about tampons at school and from a book on puberty.  Mom didn’t even bring tampons up.  My son is only 6, and because he’s a boy, I’d like my husband to talk to him.  Not sure if he’ll do that.  At least we have a few more years before the talk!

They change their narrative depending on who they are trying to fire up.  If they want the "proud patriots" to get fired up they say it was a peaceful tour.  If they want the "bloodthirsty nationalists" to get fired up they say it was liberals/BLM/antifa framing MAGA.  And as I keep saying I don't know who is worse.  Those telling the lies or those believing the lies.

HAHAHAHAHA......my grandmother told me the same thing.  She lived with us and did some of the housework, so she'd snoop in the bathroom.  I COULD NOT have tampons in the house because of that.  And pads irritate my ladyparts.

Wow, memories just came screaming back to me. I can't remember if my mom told me that or simply that you couldn't use tampons if you hadn't had sex yet. By the time I was in high school, I decided I wanted to give them a try. I actually had to hide them from my mom. I don't remember how long it took her to find them, but when she did, she sat me down and asked when I started having sex and who with.

The point is a SCOTUS majority told him no.  It might not sound like a lot but i will take it.

Exactly.  Even if he gets a proverbial slap on the wrist what is galling him is that someone else - yet another judge in a different case - is sitting in judgment of him and SCOTUS said "yep that's how things work Don".

Back in the day, Librarians were tasked with showing a film to the 5th grade girls. Mostly about what happens when they start to get their periods.  I will never forget one of the girls - big glasses and red hair.  She was a constant chatterer, always questioning who, what and why about most anything. And a whirling dervish most of the time.  Drove her teachers crazy. I had a soft spot for her - maybe it was the hair and freckles. At the end of the film we would ask if any of them had any questions. When I saw her arm fly up, my heart sank. When called on she practically shrieked "how do you make it stop" ... 😎

I had not thought about this in a while.  It still makes me laugh.

For anyone with pre-teen daughters you might try what I did.  I bought/ordered sample packs from three leading feminine hygiene product companies and put them in the bathroom cabinet.  I simply said try them out and put what you like on the grocery list when it's time. One kid didn't want tampons until college and another one used one or two pads and was they're too gross.  Who am I to tell even a teenager what makes them comfortable or uncomfortable with the lady bits?

I’m watching The Daily Show now. Seeing folks from FNC and Newsmax blame DEI  for the wildfires. You know, because women and minorities are picked over strong white guys. Billions of dollars in damage, lives lost and upended, and we can’t have unity for three straight days.

Months ago, I read a post saying that Kamala was DEI . . . Didn’t Endorse Insurrection. That stuck with me in a good way.

Oh, and I saw a few Fox people blame DEI on the decline of the NBA’s ratings. Fucking how?!?

Imagine being this insanely stupid and/or cruel and heartless. What the fuck is wrong with these people?

To those who still can't fathom why the rest of us are angryy with and despise the right, here's your answer right here. How can anyone justfiy supporting or listening to people who speak like this of others?

My sister and I were really pushing to use tampons so we could go swimming, etc.  So my mother actually called her gyn to ask if we would still be virgins if we used them.  He told her, "Mrs. M, that is not the definition of virgin" and helpfully reminded her that there had to be an opening down there or the blood wouldn't be able to exit.  We were ecstatic, ran out and bought tampons and never looked back.

I swear to hell DEI is their new demonization of everything.  Anything goes wrong it's DEI.  People out there can't fathom that a woman or POC got a job because they were qualified for the job, noooooo it's that evil socialist DEI out to destroy any jobs for white guys.

Sure there's a little more diversity in offices. That's good it means the company isn't just marketing to one faction.  Look at the executive levels of some major businesses and it get homogenized real fast.

There’s period underwear now so if they’re not comfortable with pads or tampons, there’s that.

In 10 days our nightmare is going to be reality. The Democrats better not let us down. They will have no control to do or change anything for a year.

But they better get themselves in fighting position. They better not lift a finger to help MAGAs pass anything. Not the budget in March. No crazy confirmation of cabinet members. No letting Trump’s ranting and raving of taking over other countries or changing names of bodies of water or bringing back confederate general’s names to military bases.
When the war in Ukraine drags on and gets worse because Trump can’t stop it in 24 hours like he promised and cozies up to Putin show Americans what he did.

When the price of eggs goes up show his voters how gullible they are to believe lies that they knew were lies. Make them own it. All of it and make sure voters know who the owners are

Everyday I get emails from someone in the Democratic Party asking me for money. Are you people kidding. I wouldn’t and will not give a cent because I expect you to be weak and if you ever prove me wrong I ‘m still never donating to another candidate. My vote is all you deserve sorry if that’s not good enough.

The majority of the Democrats ran a three month campaign on abortion and democracy instead of going out everyday and running ads all day talking about the economy and immigration. Who knew that’s what average Americans care about. Did you not talk to voters.

You have twelve months to get this right. Good luck

Begging your pardon, but a lot of people do care about abortion and democracy. The people that don’t are about to get to the “finding out” part.

I’m one of those people. I’ve posted not long ago that when Roe fell it felt like a death in the family to me . Unbelievable that my two daughters and granddaughter would have less rights than me (save for the fact we live in MN. Unless the republicans find a way to pass a national abortion ban)

My point was that Harris had managed the close the gap between Biden and Trump that she was handed and only lost by just over 1%.

I believe she could have won if she would have counter punched him at every lie and crazy conspiracy over the economy and immigration. Or what the democrats like to call the kitchen table issues. Speak to what the voters who were swayed by him said their #1 issues were and to the voters that sat home

To the people getting to the finding out part. Well you asked for it and I hope you enjoy it

I agree; and it should have won the election for the Dems. But the touted "strong economy" was not trickling down to the majority of people. That, I think, is what cost the Dems the election. They didn't speak enough (or any) to the pain the majority of people were facing at the grocery stores, car dealerships, etc. The Rethugs were more than happy (actually, gleeful) to pounce, lie and exaggerate. As always. I didn't hear a lot from the Dems about this issue. And I blame some of that on their leadership. They can never seem to fight back effectively.

That's because leadership really bought in to the whole "when they go low, we go high" rhetoric that only worked for Obama. It also only works in places where the local and state government is not actively trying to kill women and marginalized people. Additionally, they have no counter argument to grocery prices are too high when the root cause of that is corporate greed and the Dems as a whole need their corporate donations.

According to Chuck Schumer Democrats would be open to Trump's desire to change the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America if Trump worked with them on lowering prices.  So I don't think the Democrats, at least the Senate Dems, are going to put up much of a fight.

I think the problem was those two issues are more of abstract issues for a lot of people.  They don't, at least they don't think, they affect them personally. Not caring about issues that affect other people is a real problem.  The lack of empathy is getting worse.

We all know once someone hears a lie and believes it you are most likely not going to change that person's mind with the truth.  Democrats are always playing catch up.  And the media doesn't help.  They broadcast their lies and rarely fact check them. A Democrat misquotes someone or erroneously gives a wrong statistic and they are pounced on for being a liar. It's also different voting bases.  The Republican base wants to be told what they want to be true. Democratic base want to be told the truth.

Trump just had to respond President Obama laughing with him.

From the article:

"It did look very friendly, I must say. I didn’t realize how friendly it looked. I saw it on your wonderful network just a little while ago before I came in and I said, ‘Boy, they look like two people that like each other.’”

That man is deluded.  After years of a racist lie he really thinks Obama likes  him?

I don't see how they are going to enforce that.  Will it apply to only African Americans not being able to marry white people?  Or will be it anyone not white not  allowed to marry any person of color? Who will my granddaughters be able to marry. They are 1/4 black.  These fucking white supremacists so afraid of becoming a minority in this country doing all they can to prevent that.

bluegirl147...please tell me you are making a funny about Schumer willing to bargain the name of the Gulf of Mexico. Please. If true, that is a prime example of the cowardice and avarice of some Dem leadership. Wait, there is no true leadership; the name of the game is always to placate.

If you listen to Schumer's tone, he was clearly mocking Trump for focusing on crazy things like this, rather than the real issues that would help average Americans. Schumer knows how ridiculous Trump's musings are and how it's a pipedream to ever get the international cooperation to officially change the name.

He is totally in over his head and once he is in office and he actually has to govern (pause for hysterical laughter) it will be interesting to see how long some of these scattershot ideas of his last.  He has always assumed being president was the same as being a 16th century King (or Putin) he found out he was wrong last time but he figures he just needs to be even more insulting to even more people and all will bend the knee.

Mocking or not I absolutely believe Dems will play ball with Trump.  And it won't be for good things.  You know a lot of us have criticized Lindsay Graham for becoming a Trump supporter. His reason was he needed to stay in power, meaning keep his seat and be relevant.  I think we are going to see some Dems, while not openly support Trump, vote for his cabinet nominees, vote for legislation regarding his agenda and maybe even criticize their fellow Dems.  Most politicians are all about self preservation and they aren't going to care that what Republicans do is going to hurt most Americans.
