How tf can Sunny not know how to pronounce Kristallnacht ? FFS she's not young enough to have never heard of it, surely. How far have we fallen if someone who acts like they know everything on our tvs not know something so basic & well known, she acted like she had never heard of it.

From what I've seen on The View, there are huge gaps in Sunny's knowledge.

Did Whoopi hit the bong a little harder than usual today?  She’s slurring her speech and making even less sense than normal. I’d swear she’s drunk but I know she doesn’t consume alcohol.

Chris Christie was not on today...did they ever explain his absence?  Maybe he had more important engagements today? :)

I wondered the same thing! I wanted to get his take on the debate last night.

Yesterday she said she wasn't feeling well.   So maybe related to that or meds she's taking.

Something is off with her. I thought the same thing, she seems drunk. If she's not feeling well she should have stayed home.

Does Whoopi really not know why they give "legal notes"? Granted, it is a bit of a fig leaf to cover themselves with, but I'm pretty sure that ABC's legal department would be happy to educate her on potential issues that they'd like to avoid. Whoopi sometimes acts as though the discussions on The View are received wisdom, not just the sometimes less than unbiased opinions of the panelists.

It would be easier and less exhausting to ask what Whoopi does know.  As the years go on, she becomes more and more ignorant and surly about facts unknown to her.  Try and eat some humble pie sometime.  You're more than due a few servings.

Joy assigned an incorrect quote from Trump about Pence.  "So what" was not in relation to the specific topic they were discussing.  No one (not even "they fact check everything we say") ABC News division corrected her.

Yes Sunny, being a descendent of slaveholders/slave traders is worthy of your sly smile.  Unbelievable.

To be fair to the panelists all opinions are biased.  We just call them unbiased when they happen to agree with us 😉.

I think they do too... but then any politician gets carried away going on and on, and Joy is interjecting and the others want to get their questions answered.

But hey...all the commercials and VWD and special thing with WU, and the grand intro into their weird entrance that takes minutes.

Are their mikes cut during commercials?

She knows but she may be wondering why they seem to be the only show that has to do it, including faux news which is all just opinion pretending to be news. I mean it's not like Trump is some innocent victim who has zero felonies, saying he denies all allegations is ridiculous when he's been found guilty already.

Because this show,  for reasons that continue to elude me, is under their news division, whereas other shows are clearly entertainment.

I get that part but again, faux news is under a news division yet is 100% opinion but I guess they just don't give a flying fuck as has already been shown which may cause her confusion, not mine.

That might be a show idea!  Behar and Christie cover the news. :-)

I’m no prude but that dancer was gross.

What an awful show. Almost all of it was commercials for crap no one needs. The only good thing was Nathan Lane.

The dancer part was strange! Did Nathan Lane really set that up or was he just going along with whatever the producers planned?

Nathan Lane typically has lots of interesting stories, so it was disappointing for them to hurry him up ("you have one minute") just to get to the demi-stripper.

Alyssa is now working with Liz Cheney to ensure Trump doesn't get re-elected...but still won't commit to endorsing Kamala Harris. Make it make sense please.

Because she is so busy trying to play both sides so that whoever wins the election won't think bad of her.

Alyssa is 100% voting for her ex-boss, no ifs ands or buts. There is no way she would run around the outside of the subject otherwise.

As for Anna, she can fuck right off with telling Sarah to let her finish what she was saying with that superior attitude of hers and then doing the exact same thing 2 minutes later that she was complaining about someone else doing. She certainly knows a narcissist when she sees one because she is one.

Anyone else think Alyssa is not endorsing Kamala because she’s afraid she’ll become one of Trump’s targets?

I looked to see if she was a named witness in the new brief. She is not.

Maybe I'm dreaming, but I thought Alyssa mentioned in conversation on one of the episodes, maybe a few weeks ago, that she would vote for Kamala.  She didn't outright say it, but she implied it, because I remember being happy that she'd vote for her.

Regardless of whether she said it or not, there's no way she will ever vote for trump again.

Sorry...not sure how to get rid of the above.

Has Ana officially endorsed Harris?

I'm wondering because both Ana and Alyssa both work at CNN as well and perhaps they are not allowed to do so.

It was Sunny, not Sara. I didn’t see Ana say anything to Sara today.

I was surprised when Ana said she voted for Hilary Clinton in ‘16!

I'm not...when he came down his golden escalator in 2015 and immediately went after immigrants and his whole vomit about the US I got his message... and I think Ana did as well.

Thankfully we were spared Christie's bloviating.

I wasn't surprised either just because I remember Ana saying that's how she voted on the show back then on the day of in 2016. That's why I have more respect for her than people like Christie and Alyssa; Ana doesn't just go out there and say what she thinks the audience wants to hear to boost her own ego, career, applause line--whatever those two are after. Ana actually believes what she says where it concerns Trump and acts like it.

Whoopi was pretty clear that she understands legal notes from what I saw... She was questioning the legal notes specific to 1/6 because it comes across as if they're entertaining Trump's lies when his role in the events is undeniable fact at this point, not opinion.

I admit I can't help but appreciate the irony when someone tries to factcheck the View hosts or pushes for an opinion show like this one that's largely infotainment at best to be put under a microscope, and then they have to mischaracterize what actually happened on the show to do it. LOL

People are allowed to change their opinions, to evolve on subjects, to grow, to mellow, to admit they were wrong.  I'm sure Chris Christie and Alyssa are not giving their anti-trump opinion to get applause.  How about, maybe, they just truly feel that way.

No offense, but I'm confused how your response relates to what I said. I don't doubt a person's ability to change, I just don't find these two specific individuals to be believable or trustworthy, mostly because their statements are generally two-faced. YMMV of course. *shrug*

I don't see them as two-faced because they've been pretty consistent over the past couple of years that they no longer approve of trump.  I haven't seen them go back and forth month to month on how they feel about him.  I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Yes, we will, because I don't take seriously someone who claims they see Trump as an existential threat to democracy itself and then continually criticizes the only people who could stop him from gaining power again. That seems counterproductive if they were being genuine.
