The show could completely drop Gabriel and Camille at this point and I wouldn’t miss either of those characters. This Emily/Gabriel getting together and splitting up repeating endlessly has gone on much too long.  I really wouldn’t mind it turning into Emily in Rome now.

Does Sylvie have handsome men in every European city on her back burner? 👀

It’s difficult to believe that a traditional Italian mother would be happy about her precious son falling in love with an American influencer who doesn’t speak Italian. 🙄

Mindy’s viral performance of the Beautiful Ruins and the sudden offer to be a judge on Chinese Pop Star are also fantasies. The Eurovision storyline is so unnecessary.

Quote

“Congratulations, Emily. You stole my dream.”

“And mine.”

Emily is so incompetent to be running their Rome office. What does she know about office management, budgeting, regulations in Italy etc? Are you crazy, Sylvie? 😆

Alfie is one cool guy for not being a bitter ex but dude, Emily is NOT “the greatest girl in the world”. Come on. 🙄

Gabriel has finally realized that he’s certainly single and started to panic knowing that Emily is leaving.

If this show gets renewed for season 5, I hope it will not forget this #EmilyInRome tease. Or, will it be a spin-off?

This is a nice callback to season 1. 😘

I also had to roll my eyes at Alfie's statement about Emily.

I personally think Gabriel is an asshole for suddenly wanting to fly to Rome to see Emily when he knows she has moved on. It's a dick move and not romantic in the least (though I know the writers think it is. They also seem to think Emily is a hero for stringing men like Alfie along).

Seriously. A friend of mine was involved with a Spaniard, and one of the things his mother told him was that if things were going to go past a certain point, my friend had better start learning Spanish. (Spoiler: The relationship didn't last, but it was because of geography, not language.)

Every single thing about this show is a fantasy!

I loooved this season - season 3 was a big snore, but this season picked up nicely. Lovely sights, beautiful clothes and food porn - I just love this show.

I used to be a Gabriel/Emily shipper, but seriously, going after Camille and letting Emily alone at the ski slope - dick move. Hope Emily moves on with Marcello. I also prefer Rome to Paris, so I approve of Emily in Rome.

I hope we get another season.

Now Alfie is a Gabriel prop to push him to go to Emily.  I didn't mind Gabriel before but this pregnancy plot behavior made me not like him at all.  He has his star now he wants to treat Emily good?

Stick with Marcello. Gabriel can go.

The push and pull of Emily and Gabriel has gotten boring and predictable, and you'd have to be blind not to see the attempted pairing of Genevieve and Gabrial coming a mile away. Camille is a spoiled rich girl who adds nothing to the show and needs to be gone. As for Emily being in charge of an office? Never. No way. No how. Unless Sylvie wants the business to go under.

I did love the transition of Emily's outfits when she moved to Italy and the inference to Audrey Hepburn. Anyone notice that even Sylvie wore flats in Italy?

Not sure where the Mindy story is headed if she is supposed to move to China. I'm guessing the next season will start with Mindy moving back from China regaling Emily with stories of her time as a judge on tv and with a new boyfriend in tow.

Thoughts?

Rome is my favorite city in the world, been 4 times and I cannot wait to go back.❤️

I was nailing the cameos this episode. First that commercial, I was thinking that looks like Debi Mazur… then the director Sylvia slept with, I knew he was so familiar I could not place him, then the office guy, I immediately said that guy looks like Rupert Everett. After the show I open up IMDB, debi mazur, the dude from Under the Tuscan sun and Rupert Everett!

Back to the plot, I’d choose Marcelo over Gabriel in a heartbeat after all the Camille BS. I do not think Sylvie would really put Emily in charge unless forced so I guess that made sense. lol   I feel like the whole Mindy plot this season was just a bunch of nonsense to include her.

Seriously Gabriel?  you told Emily you were done with her.  What did you expect?  Its fine that you were tired of her inability to learn French well enough for you.  Find someone else.  Same with Alfie.  Emily is not the only petite pretty woman in the universe.  Between Emily and Sylvie, you'd think they were the only good looking smart women European men were interested in, no one else will do.

Ah, but i do love the clothing and scenery porn of this show.  who cares about the  stupid plot anymore.  the occasional food porn is nice too.

so Emily tells Marcello she told his mom and Sylvie she did not want to work on his account so she could date him, but his mom insisted Emily does work on the account so now Sylvie has to have Emily run the Rome office and run Marcello's account.

Bavazza = Lavazza - i do agree that its one of the best espresso coffees and americans are too addicted to sugar rather than coffee.

I was surprised to see luc and lucien so eager to move to Rome. Presumably they have a whole life and responsibilities in Paris that is not so easy to just leave at the drop of a hat.

One of the Bavazza ladies is totally into Luc and he is aware. He wants to move to Rome to pursue that.

I don’t know why they make up things.  Solitano is fictional.  It actually looked Tuscan as Emily’s car went by those rolling fields.

And Lavazza is in Turin, not Rome.

But the Rome scenery was great.

I don’t take any of Emily’s affairs seriously.  She doesn’t seem to either.  She sees Genevieve moving in on Gabriel and she seems to shrug and decides to go to Rome to canoodle with Marcello.

Emily, unlike Darren Star’s other heroine Carrie Bradshaw, doesn’t seem to experience heartbreak.  Lily Collins is 35 but Emily is still in her carefree 20s, it seems.  So while she’s not shown to casually hookup, she seems to have an “onto the next” approach.

Looks like the show runners and Netflix are in no hurry to end or wrap up the story with some happily ever after ending where Emily is with the love of her life.

So they will keep giving her one adventure after another, which she will keep feeding to her IG.

We are here for the scenery porn.
Emily's lifestyle among the rich and famous gets a tad offensive at times.  Did she really think a goat farmer would be playing polo and skiing at an expensive resort location?  Emily and Mindy only stumble upon princes, no scrubs.

Speaking of Mindy, she managed to *poof* away her bandmates, boyfriend, Eurovision and Paris with just a couple of lines of dialogue.
It's hilarious how the acoustics of the setting completely changes whenever Mindy has her inevitable musical moments.

It's obvious that Gabriel is the endgame - unless the actor bails out - so there's no use caring about anyone that comes along in the meantime.
It would be nice if Emily had an older sister or mother who could remind her that in French and Italian cultures mistresses and affairs are not exceptions but almost a rule.

She can move to China and stay there. Off-screen.

I don't know that Marcello is any better than Gabriel. The both seem pretty fickle. Emily says she wants nothing to do with the account, she only wants to date Marcello, but then she's put in charge of the entire office and he's suddenly OK with it?

And IMO Gabriel is way, way cuter than Marcello. By the same token, Benoit is way, way cuter than Nico. And that's all I really care about.

Marcello is probably the latest Alfie.

Just an excuse to have some scenes or episodes in Italy.

Emily is still suppose to be in her 20s, maybe mid 20s?

So she's dating, not getting serious.

I care far more about Mindy than I do about Emily. Ashley Park is the best - along with the actress who plays Sylvie, another favorite of mine. I just wish they would give Mindy better stories.

If they had Emily and Gabriel go off happily ever after, there's no reason to continue the show unless they make a lot or most of the episodes about domesticity and parenthood for Emily.

She wouldn't be doing all the social media, maybe not even working any longer.

Then it's a completely different show.

No Emily has to be single and going from one dreamy Euro guy to another, supposedly searching for Monsieur Right but just having a lot of fun, carefree hookups, with little heartbreak -- well nothing she can't bounce back from in an episode or two and be ready for the next guy.

If and when they decide to end the show, it's probably going to be her and Gabriel riding off to the sunset, while every other character also get their happy endings.

At this point it seems a lot of the audience is over Gabriel and his BS attitude. I don't have strong feelings either way but it would not be a bad thing if Emily ended up with someone else.
