I'm so happy Juveria won!

I am too, although I'd have been fine with Seth winning.  But I've liked Juveria ever since she went all in, with a large amount of money, on an Opera DD during the Second Chance tournament.

I got FJ pretty quickly.  Amersfoort sounded Dutch, and I know exactly one modern Dutch artist: Mondrian.

Ugh, is this tournament over yet? In J I missed one in History and Word Words, two in Billboard Bills/Billys/Billie, three in Books & Authors, and four in Social Types and Not Today Satin! In DJ I missed one in Meteorology, two in Period Entertainment, three in Art and Before & After, four in Creators & Creations, and all five in County Line (I had Chicago but forgot the actual name of the county). No clue for FJ.

TSes: (J had 5; DJ had 5 + both DDs) I got Ragtime (DD) and squall line.

Neither did I, so I named the only Hungarian whose name occurred to me: Ferenc Molnár.

I was hoping hard that Jaskaran would pull through. I did guess Cook County but he did not hear me.

I couldn't get more than Laszlo because I know it's a Hungarian first name.  I had know idea Houdini was Hungarian, but apparently everyone else did.

I too wanted Jaskaran to win, but I don't mind the winner.

I said Zsa Zsa Gabor.

Thank you. (I did too.)
When I was a kid and into my biography reading phase, I read at least 2 Houdini biographies, but that was about 60 years ago, so I went with Zsa Zsa.

Having lived Cook County adjacent during the 60s and 70s and then again from 2001-2021, I was yelling into the time tunnel vortex at Jaskaran: Cook! Cook! Cook!
But, alas, Jeopardy! players never receive my wormhole missives.

Thought I was having a terrible first round until they got out of the bottom rows, where most of my missed clues were, and ended up having a decent round…missed one in Rockpile of History, Short but Sweet, Potpourr-only-E, and Movies at the Mall, two in Sappy, and three in Around the USA. I did have a terrible second round where my missed clues were all over the board...missed two in 18th Century Bookshoppe and Stars & Constellations, three in Begins with K and Crypt-O!, and four in Facts about Facts and Currencies.

Had no clue for FJ. Not even a name recognition after it was revealed.

TSes: (J had 1; DJ had 4) I got Blarney Stone.

I'm with Matt on the pop culture questions. At least if it's recent, I don't know what's going on these days. They can go be on their own show.

I knew when I saw the category that I wouldn't have a chance for FJ.  I was right about that -- I had no clue.

The only TS I got was Blarney Stone.

Incidentally, in Scotland, it's pronounced Stone of Scoon, even though it's spelled Stone of Scone.  Scone the food is pronounced in Scotland the way Emily pronounced it.

I would like to take credit for knowing Vega of the Lyre (because Teddy was so dramatically bitter about it in Emily's Quest) but I don't think I actually got to the word Vega, I was still wallowing in "there is only one star I hate".

That was a great game and I am glad it came down to who knew FJ because although I like Matt a lot it was rough on Luigi whom I also like very much to be overtaken on DDs. At least it wasn't a runaway.

No idea who Randolph was, so props to Matt for getting it.

Ugh. In J I missed one in Sizes, two in Apps & Websites and Hero's Journey, and three in History, Rivers, and Starts with a Body Part. In DJ I missed two in Pink, Sculpture, and On Tour, and three in Poetica Botanica, Antonyms, and Doom Scrollin'. Didn't get FJ but I at least knew it was something to do with outer space..?

Aw, Juveria looked like she was wiping away tears after she won. I was kinda rooting for Ray, but happy for her.

TSes: (J had 1 + the DD; DJ had 2 + 1 DD) I got I got…none of them..

I knew FJ had something to do with space, but I was blanking on astronomers.

All I could think of was Hubble and Kepler...but I knew one was too late and the other too early.

I was so happy that sitting keeps Ray from rocking. I would have rooted for him but Juveria looked too good. Not everyone can wear that shade of yellow and she rocked it! When I saw she didn't bet anything for FJ, I thought that's not going to get it done. But then Raymond didn't know the answer and bet too much! Wonder if he was like the rest of us, saying it's some astronomer.

Did Ken make a flub after Raymond's FJ wager was revealed? I thought he said 'just enough' right before the total revealed that Juveria had won.

As a person who was rooting for Juveria, I interpreted Ken's comment as meaning "just enough for Juveria to squeak through." But from Raymond's perspective I suppose it was indeed just too much.

I was happy for Juveria!  I had no idea of the answer for FJ, and the final wager made the difference.

Me too, although I wish Ray could've advanced as well somehow.  Preferably in place of Matt Amodio, whom I really disliked although at least he's not Yogesh.  (That's my new barometer for awfulness: "At least he/she is not Yogesh!".)

I even knew they were looking for the discoverer of Uranus because I know two of its moons are Titania and Oberon but could not come up with his name to save my life.  Actually many of its moons are named for characters from Shakespeare's plays.

In J I ran Feeling Punchy (of all things…), missed one in Non-Human Book Characters, two in Notable Names, Spitting Fire, and Add a Letter, and three in Recent Movies.

In DJ I missed one in Law, two in Reality TV and Ends in M, three in European Geography and Opera, and four in Document Dudes.

FJ was a wild guess (an Italian name associated with math..?) but I got it!

TSes: (J had 2 + the DD (I got 'em all!); DJ had 1) I got cherries jubilee, haymaker (DD), and spiders (surprised no one guessed that...what other jumping arachnids are there?).

I was afraid to guess spider in case it was insufficiently specific. I should have realised it was a low-value clue.

This was a rare tournament final where I like all three players and would be happy to see any of them win. That said, yay Matt!

I guessed correctly on FJ simply because he’s the only mathematician with an Italian-sounding name that came to mind. The only thing I know about him is he had a Sequence (and maybe some triangles?), but don’t ask me what it is because I have no idea.
