Yeah, that was probably why Gideon popped in her head so fast. I know Joy did visit out there with the family, as well as the kids being close in age. And I think they stayed with Joy when they went to Arkansas. But the way she made it sound was that they went back-and-forth a couple of times to Arkansas. I didn’t think she had the ultrasound at the same time as the Christmas visit? It was a little confusing. I thought she had the ultrasound in Arkansas, went back home and opened the outfit, then went back to make the announcement for Christmas.

What I understood was that Jinger was in AR very early in her pregnancy and told her sisters. I think she had the blood test and had the results sent to Jessa. She in turn sent Jinger the boring beige boy's outfit. Jinger wasn't showing at all when they opened the package.

I learned a long time ago not to try to apply logic to the Duggars. It's that way madness lies. 

On a side note, the episode of The Rockford Files I'm watching right now has a character who looks just like Jim Bob, and it disturbs me every single time I look up at the screen and see his face. LOLOLOL

I have questions:

A) In the beginning of the video Jinger says "don't peek" but then she opens her eyes lol. Then, in the second clip she says "did you not know?" 

I think we saw only splices of the full video because Jessa sent them a wrapped outfit that was still in the amazon packaging! Just like she does for xmas. Seriously, Jessa - can we  break out a box and some tissue paper for this occasion?

I think Jeremy may have not understood what it was right away - since it was brown/beige and wrapped in heavy plastic. So they split the video.

B) Who is videoing the "tell Felicity" part - Jessa? It didn't sound like her.

Oh and another question?

When did Joy and Jinger start saying "OH.... MY.... WORD...."?

Am I just now noticing or is this little trend new?

I work as a legal assistant. I was trying to file my first-of-the-year leaves of absence for one of the attorneys I work for. In the middle of filing, I realized the attorney's initials are JB (first and last name). I had to laugh to myself. That's when my snark world and my work world collide.

I'm not much help to you @Tuxcat, your questions are ones I have too.  

The video did seem to skip around.  Jeremy probably opened the box and saw the outfit before they were filming, maybe thinking it would be in a sack or something.  I don't know.  Not going to re-watch to see if I can figure things out.  But it was awkward.  Jermey wouldn't look at Jinger so she could kiss him.  He seemed distracted by the reveal and Jinger wanted to celebrate.  

I don't think it was Jessa filming.  Maybe Jana?  Not sure but someone else already knew too.  

Joy has been say, "Oh my word" for a L O N G time.  Not sure about Jinger.

Question....do we know if Jinger and family have been affected by the wild fires.  Forgive my ignorance about California area names, but aren't they located in the "LA" area?

From what we know about where they live, it does not seem that their particular area has been affected; although I am sure life is not going smoothly. LA's air quality is extremely poor due to the smoke which has also put a haze over the city and I am sure they are following the news closely.

They're closest to the Hurst fire which is almost fully contained. They look to have escaped unscathed, although it was probably dicey for a few days last week.

They weren't in any direct danger, but the anxiety of not knowing where the next fire will pop up unnerves some people.  The relative humidity has already dropped this week and the winds, especially in LA, have picked up.  It feels like October in January regarding lack of rain and fire danger.

Yup, another set of twins.  Her husband literally burst into tears as I finished the scan, 'We didn't know how we were going to handle one more!  What are we going to do with two?'. She was crying too.  Identical boys.  Weirdly, identical twins are random chance, not hereditary, so the odds were way against it.

I have a friend who has two sets of identical twin girls, but they were born roughly two years apart, so your story has her beat! Lol.

ET interviews Jinger.  She describes her relationship with Michelle and JB as "complicated," although she says she loves them.  She hasn't spoken with Josh since he's been in prison and even before that, she did more praying for him than talking with him.  At the end, ET asks her about a possible reality show.  She mentioned wanting to keep her kids' lives private, but surprisingly, she didn't rule it out for the future.

The house wasn't spared as it was never in danger.  At least the way I look at it, houses are spared if a house on their street burned.  Jinger wasn't in an evacuation zone.  One of my kids was.  I don't say my kid's house was spared since the fire didn't reach them and they returned home in a couple of days.  My daughter knows over a dozen families who lost their homes.  At least a couple could be people Jinger knows as they attend the same church.

And wow, their house! That view out the baby’s room was something. Mountains and a big swimming pool. They really hit the big time. How is this compared to Jill and what she made on her book? They are still living the same simple life as far as I can tell.

Jeremy, his family, some innate sensibility, and possibly she took some of the ministry wife classes or had PR counseling from the church I think may have all had some impact.

Jinger, out of all the kids, has always struck me as the one actually open to learning what they don't know. I don't think she was ever happy being woefully undereducated and so sheltered from the world. It's not like she was blind to the world around her, she saw things were different when they were all paraded around out in public. Was she brave enough to question things or push her parents for answers, obviously not. But she basically went running to change, as narrow as it may seem to some the second she said I DO.

They either hit the big time or they're in mountains of debt. Either is possible.

Plus, she chose Jeremy, who was quite different than the others that the sisters chose. He wasn’t a teenager, he wasn’t a boy on the next farm, and he wasn’t Jim Bob’s prayer partner.

Sure, he was still extremely religious, but not part of their cult. And he had had worldly experiences before - playing soccer in Europe, attending college, and being a little rowdy in his day. He knew cultural references, plus TV shows and movies that he exposed her to. Some of the others are still stuck on the Andy Griffith show.

Now, of course, it can be seen that she just went from one cult to the other. But at least this feels much more healthy, which is not hard to beat considering where she came from. But she does seem to be thriving in this life, and even watching things that are not on the totally clean side and enjoying it in her shorts. While spacing her children with birth control. Although Jill can be seen as the same way. She is exposed now to media, different clothes, birth control, and even alcohol.

 I'm guessing we don't all draw the line of what is a cult in the same place.  I don't see their current church as a cult.  That's possibly because I know people who attend it.  True it's toward the conservative end of Christian churches, but it's nowhere near as far along as IBLP or the IFB churches Jim Bob picks.  People are free to leave, many do not agree with all the beliefs, many aren't even aware of all the posted beliefs.  The majority of members seem to lead normal lives.  In the majority of life the members there are indistinguishable from their neighbors.  If they don't tell you which church they attend, you'll never know.

I've seen/read enough of Macarthur to know he's racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, and denies mental illness. A very problematic leader.

I'm far from saying MacArthur is a good or decent human being.  None of his issues make him a cult leader though.  The guy who lived next door to me hadn't set foot in a church in 30 years and had the same ideology and beliefs you listed.

Mac Daddy has a far bigger platform to spread his views than your next door neighbor. And he lectures on these subjects pretty often. His views on mental illness are  especially dangerous. 

I don't think I would categorize his church as a cult, but he's got the qualities of a cult leader. He's worshipped by many, including Jeremy.

It will probably never happen "out loud" but there is the very slim possibility that with all of Jinger's evolution of thinking she will start to question Macarthur's beliefs.  If she says it "out loud", Jeremy, who is better at it than she is, will never let up.  So, in her head there could be thoughts.  Who knows.

He has the qualities of a bigot. He draws a following of people who are bigoted, only half paying attention, or like the religious message.  His sermons tend to be exegesis of the Bible with not as much bigotry as one might guess.  I've heard three and two had zero bigotry in them.  I don't think that's a sufficient sample, but that's my experience. I don't think the congregation worships him, but they do allow for his continued leadership without sufficient questioning.  Those who question, get dumped usually though. That's culty I admit.  Again, he's problematical and you won't ever catch me saying he's right, he's a nice man, or anything like that.  But he's no Jim Jones who is going to try to take his flock to the jungle and get them to drink poisoned kool aide either.

That was actually really cute. Jeremy is pretty funny, especially in his relationship with Austin. I like to see that they have personalities, which you don’t always see in this family.

I guess Josiah and Lauren aren’t into the cameras at all. They stayed with them, yet not a single shot.

Good to see Justin too.  Was that Claire behind him?  I was surprised they were staying with Josiah and Lauren too.  I'm glad they didn't show them if that is their wish.
