Exactly what I was coming here to say.  I can't believe he had the stones to say that he "hasn't been in a position" to help his parents.  You were in the position asshole, if you chose not to help them, that's on you.  It honestly infuriates me that he's crying about his "hard luck" story.  Try getting a real job and working for a living.

IDGAF. I'm glad Johnny's going to the final. I'm rooting for him or Chris, but mostly Chris because that would be the greatest poetic justice.

I guessed Johnny wasn't going in. His reaction in the trailer last week didn't give me the vibe that he was going in. I figured it would be Fessy and really hoped it was Fessy.

I had no predictions for the girls. I didn't really care as much.

Second, this hall brawl was totally lame. The puzzle negated the actual hall brawl. 

Third, um, I call BS to Bananas not getting pulled from the hopper. BS. Tori and Bananas have been protected this entire game. Conveniently. So tired of seeing them. Not watching another season of regular or US version that they are in.

Honestly, I would have preferred Bananas smug ass in the elimination, but as @susannot said , I hate all the guys except Chris too so it was a win once he won the Daily.

Also, Josh is so full of BS.  He had to think of himself for ONCE?  All the kid ever does is think of himself from his first day on BB when he screwed over his team to guarantee personal safety.  Not saying that he shouldn't play for himself, but OWN it.  Don't act like some kind of martyr when everyone has seen that you will sell out anything and anyone for personal gain.  It just makes it worse when you cry about it after the fact.

I didn't care for the daily challenge. I thought it was really boring to watch.

After all of the vets having targets on their back, three of them survived. Cory played a good game. Cory was relatively safe for the entire game compared to the others. He has not been in an elimination this season for the first time in a long time.

I guess there are three guarantees in life: Death, Taxes, and Josh Martinez Never Making a Finale.

You know, if Johnny or Fessy win next week, I will be pissed. That said, I'm thrilled with tonight's results. Never mind that Hall Brawl basically came down to picking numbers at random and hoping for the best. Josh lost, and all he has are the clothes on his back and the wadded-up tear-stained tissues in his pockets.

And he told Johnny that he voted for him! Is that supposed to indicate a conscience, that he'll screw someone over and tell them about it afterward? As Darrell might put it, "Josh, Josh, Josh, what is you doin'?!?" You have to keep your trap shut. If he comes back to the show, swearing on his loved ones will be used against him, and he won't get close to making a final mission.

Good.

Oh, and Cassidy lost on her fourth elimination. Tough break for her . . .  another thing to keep up at night, along with losing to freaking Gabler on Survivor.

Hall Brawl . . . okay, I get how it needed to be tweaked, but that wasn't the way to do it. I'm thinking players should've had to pick out squares and rectangles. After all, aren't rectangles long squares? Tonight, we basically had players blurting out numbers, and that wasn't satisfying. Well, not that satisfying. Have I mentioned how glad I am that Josh lost?

Next week: I guess I'm rooting for Chris. Four trips to elimination does make him a sympathetic figure . . . enough to not want Cory to get his first win. I guess that any of the Survivor women can win. Tori already had her victory lap.

PS: Is swearing on loved ones the one line Johnny won't cross? As opposed to all the other ways he's screwed people over? If Sarah Rice was watching, she probably busted her TV yet again.

Josh won big brother so why does he have no money to help his family? 

This guy is the worst, good riddance cry and cry more.  Karma did get him, he swore on family and sold out Bananas and got chosen to play.  Too good. 

He was a terror on big brother to point of the bullying he did was disgusting.  They had to cut feeds when he was wanting to make ptsd happen to Cody and him to punch him to be expelled.  Josh is no better now. 

So glad hopper saved Bananas and that Chris won, happy to see him in the final.

This! Fessy is the worst friend. He treated his partner (was it Moriah) so awfully when she prioritized herself and her team over him. Yet, he ONLY ever prioritized himself and always does.

I was glad to see Josh in the elimination and to see him go (because it's Josh), but man oh man did I want to see Johnny down there for his fucking hypocriticalness! We've seen Johnny, time and time again, stab people in the back (as opposed to what he said to Makailah about only ever stabbing in the chest) to secure his spot. But now, how dare anyone else do it to him.  The self-righteousness and indignation from him, especially now that his status has effectively dropped, folks aren't scared to vote for him, and he's getting a taste of his own medicine, is astounding. And his constant, "What's wrong with you people?!?" to both Josh and Tori....I wanted to throw a chair at him.

A square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square. (One of the few things I remember from Geometry!) So they should have had to count rectangles....but then the game would never be over.

I'm confused on how they calculated time on the Daily? Jonny & Michaela got to the top almost at the same time and it looked like she had to wait for him to finish before she could go? And during that time, she was obviously scared, sitting in the basket and blowing her nose, etc. Did her time stop during that period?

My guess that they timed the climb up the ladder, and timed the walk across the beam.

They'd have to get into the basket to position themselves to walk across the beam so I imagine that part was not timed.

With Cassidy gone.  I don’t really care about this season anymore.  Glad to see crybaby Josh gone though.  Go Chris for the men and is there any way none of the women finish?

Also, what’s the point of doing hall brawl before a puzzle?  Maybe you get an extra second to work on the puzzle?

Here's my question:  HOW do they do that balance beam walk between two big inflated balloons bobbling around four stories up in the air??  I can barely stay on a balance beam 18 inches off the ground.  Weren't there gusts of wind buffeting them?  Maybe there's some tension on the harness, kind of lifting them up, helping them cross the beam?

 

Michaela is one of the bravest women I've ever seen.  Never mind the harness--falling off that thing and dangling 40 feet in the air would make my heart quit.

Yeah Fessy realized it wasn’t worth trying to count over and over, just keep going back with guesses.

Could Josh not hear that Fessy already said 8?  Seems like Fessy knew what Josh already guessed so he kept guessing higher numbers.

Yeah and the puzzle too.  Not that much of an advantage to get through the hall and to the puzzle a couple seconds before your opponent as with regular Hall Brawl where you’re just racing to reach the target on the other side of the hall.

For a change, they had pretty evenly sized people. Chanelle and Fessy were bigger and stronger than Cassidy and Josh but not by much more than we usually see in Hall Brawl matchups.

Plus with the pads and the puzzle, there isn’t as much of an incentive to hit as hard or push the opponent back.  The women aren’t as vicious and Fessy and Josh are friends so they’re not going to go all out.

Now if it was Fessy vs. Cory in a regular HB, it would have been pretty even and they could hurt each other.  Both played football although I think Fessy played at a higher level.  Fessy said also that the halls are narrow so he can’t square and deliver the full force of both shoulder pads, because he has to position his body diagonally so that both shoulder pads fit through the hall.

 

Daily was unusually simple, just a pure race against the clock.  They all had a pretty good idea who were the fastest.  They all knew what was at stake so they kind of knew who could win and prepare for voting.

Josh and Chanelle was on The Challenge podcast recapping this episode. Chanelle says a lot of what Michaela said with regard to her relationship in the game with Cassidy. Chanelle says there was an assumed Survivor alliance but there wasn't really a Survivor alliance. She didn't trust Chris, and wasn't playing with Sebastian. Cassidy didn't pivot her strategy once the individual portion of the game started.

Tori says that after they finished the challenge, and being that Michaela had won, she was certain she would going into elimination. She had told Chanelle this, and Chanelle responds to Tori that she's not going in. Tori also says that Desi and Chanelle had a conversation with Michaela to ensure that Tori is not the main vote. Tori also had a conversation with Michaela to get that reassurance from Michaela.

Chanelle explains, in a nutshell, that the reason they didn't want Tori as the main vote is because they didn't want to go against her, especially right before the final. Therefore, Desi and Chanelle talk with Michaela about not having Tori as the main vote.

This is pretty much what we saw a few episodes ago when Michaela won her first challenge and she started pitching Tori. Desi and Chanelle were telling Michaela then that Tori being the main vote means that people would more likely throw their votes on Desi or Chanelle to go against Tori, and they didn't want that.

Also, Josh asked Chanelle for advice on the puzzle before the guys' round in the Hall Brawl. Chanelle told him whatever number he guesses, he's probably 1 or 2 off so keep guessing.

Not sure their chances are better in one or the other.  Depends on the type of elimination or the type of tasks in the Final.

You figure endurance is a big part of the Final and some eating challenge.  So are they confident that they could outperform Tori in either of those?

Or they're just looking to get past the final elimination day, worry about the Final later.

IMO, the better bet is beating her in the final because at least you made it to the final. Everything that is done before the final is to get you to the final.

Separately, I also thought that maybe everyone perceived Cassidy as being the easiest girl to beat in the final elimination. Who would anyone of the Survivor clique rather go against in an elimination, Tori or Cassidy?

Considering that there aren’t many people left, all of these girls were going to get some votes. They knew the guys wouldn’t vote for Tori. They knew they were catching votes from the guys. There’s a good chance they were going in. If the goal is to make to the final to have a chance at the money, who would they rather in go against in the elimination if their ball is plucked from the hopper?

ETA: I had thought about something before that Tori and Fessy suffered from the same benefit this season. A huge reason of why Fessy didn't get put into elimination is that no one wants to be the one to go against him. If Fessy gets nominated into elimination, and just one person votes for you, it could be you having to go against this guy in an elimination that could be a Pole Wrestle or a Hall Brawl, or anything else that could be physical that you have run headfirst into this guy. For the most part, that's how the girls treated Tori. They want her out but they don't want to be the one to do it. They don't even want the possibility of being the one to do it. Sure, Tori is not unbeatable but she won't make it easy. That's avoided by not nominating Tori at all.

Has there been a more repulsive Challenger than Josh since TJ took over?  He betrays people all the time, then goes around crying and seeking sympathy like he's the victim.   It's disgusting to watch, even more than his pretending to be impoverished and unable to help his parents.
