After campaigning for a promotion, Ashley is sorely disappointed to be given the title “Junior Stew,” making her and Scarlett equals. With returning charter guests, can Daisy lead her junior stews to success? Gary is back to his flirtatious ways as he distracts Scarlett to the ire of both Ashley and Daisy. Marcos has to navigate a myriad of dietary restrictions while planning a 10-course meal. After a charter full of no wind, Glenn is determined to impress the guests with a sailing race to secure that ever-elusive big tip.

At least these charter guests have the good taste to be ogling Marcos and not Gary.By the way, what’s his deal?  He doesn’t seem interested in romance - is he gay or in a relationship or both?

I think Marco is too tired to put in the effort to woo anyone. Plus Gary jumps into first place with all the ladies. Gary is eager and unless you’re ready to work hard, you’ll never put-charm Gary.

Aside from Daisy, Kelsie, Ashley, and Scarlett are too young for Marcos and he reacted strongly and negatively to Gabriella. That was a bad match.

He once said that he had secretly slept with every female on a previous boat but I can’t imagine how he did that.
I think he’s enjoying the Marcos, Gary, Colin roommate vibe. That’s a fun room.

I have heard the following, on social media.  Can't confirm...

Spoiler

Marcos is in a relationship with a member of production.  Personally, I think this should be off limits, as it severely limits the hook up factor of the crew.  😉

Also, I know last season Colin talked about his girlfriend, but they have since broken up.  Maybe he is with someone else, because he doesn't seem interested in pursuing things with the crew, either.

I'm just so tired of seeing Gary make out and more with (almost) every available female.  They're all idiots to fall for his BS.  At this point, I would prefer seeing Captain Glenn get flirty with someone!

SemiCharmedLife, I have heard the same.

I actually like Gary. He's pretty harmless but good at his job. He must be pretty charming with that batting record.. After this episode, I'm actually beginning to think that Daisy might be into him. I'd previously thought she was humoring him and just enjoying the banter.  But seeing how angry she was, I now think there's something more there.

I've heard that Colin is in a new relationship, he also seems to enjoy watching the drama unfold and stirring it up from the sidelines. Marcos is a great chef but I'm still giving him a bit of side-eye after how he treated Gabby.  Yes, she had a big role in it but he seemed eager to hate her from the jump, just because she reminded him of his ex.

I don't love short men but I do find something about Captain Glen so endearing. Sounds like he also as a love interest off camera.

They are officially in a relationship according to a post on the media thread.

Yup.

The racing is kind of new.  Probably was arranged with the other boat before hand because the other crew would have to sign waivers to appear on the show.

No fool he.

Honestly, I think the show - like most reality shows - is just invested in hiring girls like Ashley and Scarlett who express eagerness at hooking up with dudes during the casting process and interview process. That's what reality shows want. So it's no coincidence they all wind up with Gary, it's more or less pre-determined. It's his role to chase after all of them and they are hired with the understanding they are open to that. It's just unfortunate that it all seems to fall onto Gary because Marcos and Colin aren't interested and apparently Barnaby isn't good enough. They were probably hoping for more with Tom.

Many of the Never Before Scenes feature Gary and Daisy flirting or joking about a future life together.  Personally, I think she could do better.  He skeeves me out the way he is grabbing the ladies, hugging and kissing them at his whim, though they seem to love it.

I was also soured on Marcos regarding Gabby, and can't seem to like him as much as I did before.  I think he even tried to accept her "apologies" a few times, but maybe he wasn't coming across as sincere.  I don't know why I can't get beyond that.  Awesome chef, though!

Speaking of chef, they (the producers) need to stop with the zillion-course meals.  What is it going to be next time- 20 courses?  We've seen it almost every season, and they up the ante every time.  Who in their right mind would request 10 courses, let alone eat them?

Yeah those guests got sick of the courses before the desert courses

They put up hurdles to stress out the cast and have more "interesting TV" to film.

Daisy and Gary have that love-hate relationship where you're never sure if they are going to scream at each other or start making out. I was so frustrated with the argument about the tender ride. Daisy went after Gary because she said bringing a stew wasn't necessary. But from watching all the versions of BD, having a stew serve drinks on tender rides seems to be pretty standard. What Daisy should have been angry about was Gary's completely self-serving decision to go to Scarlett himself and tell her that she was coming on the tender ride. If he wanted a stew to come with him, the professional thing to do would have been to go to Daisy, the chief stew, and ask her to select one of the stews to accompany him. Daisy missed her opportunity to be completely in the right in this situation!

The way Gary made a beeline for Scarlett and the fact that he's already macking on her in the laundry room when she's only been there - what, two days? Makes me think it's all scripted. Especially after what happened with Ashley.

May be scripted but Scarlett would have to be willing to play along, kissing and hugging him for the cameras.

Maybe there are enough young women willing to do that to get on TV.

Like panties strewn upon the deck in Gary’s wake, these comments are in order of the scenes broadcast…

Freezing the frame on preference sheet for Jess Cimato – my God, how can she eat anything through those injected lips?

Right out of the gate Daisy fails to recognise the importance placed on crew structure.  Daisy is just not equipped to lead – any charter that ends well does so in spite of her, not because of her.

So Barnaby doesn’t like being on the night shift.  Well, dude, you’re the new guy, so you’re going to get the worst shifts.

It’s pretty clear this set of guests don’t care two poos about sailing.  They’re obviously here for the celeb exposure.

Guest Jen off the rope swing… CANNONBALL!  She did great.

Gary and his predator tactics on Scarlett – please.  Now I know why we have roosters on the farm.  Colin:  “I just can’t figure out how his brain works.”  It’s not his brain, Colin…

I had to wake myself up twice to finish this episode – here’s hoping the race next week is more exciting.

I too like Gary, and agree he is pretty harmless and everyone quickly realizes who he is as far as his womanizing ways.  He might have annoyed me a bit at first but he is generally pretty funny.  I too often wondered and suspected there was more to him and Daisy than just flirting…. on both parts.  But not sure how I might feel if I see some of these girls actually being hurt by his actions.  But he is def a buyer beware type of guy.

I don't think he's a predator at all, he's just testing the water & she can always say no go away, if he continues after that then he becomes a predator.

Maybe he is behaving like a normal human being instead of a tv reality show treat..

I find the whole Gary thing really annoying. I don't know if this is common in yachting, flirting like crazy with a co-worker who just came aboard, or they are doing just for TV, but it feels so forced and so much staged it ends up being kind of appalling. The new girl went into Gary arms before she even actually worked on the damn boat.

Garry has been reduced to some kind of a mindless flirty puppet. It is pathetic.
I still watch it for the boat and the locations, but not sure for how long I will cope with the obsessive mindless flirting, the drunks and their vomits. I mean there is youporn for that, no?

I totally agree. He's always grabbing Daisy from behind and giving her a big ol' hug. I personally don't appreciate those un-asked for touches.

Apparently Daisy didn't object or tell him not to do it?

Since they're supposedly together now?

I don't know about yachting in particular, but my son is a sailor, a merchant mariner.  If there's someone they are interested in, they learn to strike quickly because they might not see them again or get another chance.  He and his friends from the Maritime Academy were always very good at picking up girls.  Not like Gary, but in the normal, do you want to go get coffee way.

I find Gary to be a complete horn dog, but I bet he's fun to be around.  He's actually pretty smart, speaks several foreign languages, works hard and loves his mother.  He stayed with the poor guest who face planted into the water to make sure she was OK.  You could do worse.

I kind of laughed at Ashleigh complaining how exhausting it was always having to tell Scarlett how to do stuff.

That's management, kiddo!

She's loving every minute of it!  (And making sure everyone hears how green Scarlett is...)

I agree that Gary is good at his job, but he is also inappropriate with the women he works with. If a co-worker came up behind me with that big hug he'd have an elbow in the ribs at the least.  What you do after hours is no one's business, but keep it professional during work.

Why would you think Daisy is "into" him because she was angry at him? He was angry at being dick blocked about bringing Scarlett with him on the tender so he could inappropriately flirt with her in front of guests. Daisy realized that is what he wanted, and pretty much showed he didn't "need" a stew, and got abuse for it. Gary was in the wrong here.

Different cultures hold hands, hug, kiss as greetings differently so I’m not going to hold that against him.  Plus, Daisy responds positively to it.  We haven’t seen him do anything like that with Kelsie.  I don’t think he did with Gabby either.  With Gabby he flirted, like with everyone else, but most if not all physical contact was initiated by Gabby.  It seems like his nature is to be flirty, cuddly and touchy; but if someone isn’t into it he respects that and isn’t that way with them.  At least I hope this is the case, please don’t prove me wrong Gary.

Yes they do, but most differences are with men together. They are much more demonstrative in some cultures, including hand holding and cheek kissing, but that doesn't apply here.  I agree though that he doesn't seem to do it with women who aren't up for it. I wouldn't like it at all, but I'm not everyone.
