S02.E17: Bris-fully Ignorant

two things I noticed on re-watching tonight.

Ari never once refers to the baby as "our baby" 

Armando is talking to Kenny about communicating with Hannah and says something like, "Either you're going to have to learn Spanish, or Hannah will have to learn English" and Kenny just shrugs and says, "Well, you know how THAT'S going to work..."

The moment when Princess Ariela hissed at Bini Baby, “don’t touch him”, I had chills and flashes of the future.  
OMG, he’s the father of the baby, for cryin out loud.  Now I want Bini to say “he’s my baby too” every single time she says “my baby”.  But I will probably just make a drinking game out of it.  I think Ariela is very lucky to have so many of Bini’s relatives who seem like they would help her if she needed anything.  

Honestly I look at all of Jihoon’s friends and I can’t imagine any of them growing up and raising a family. But I’m OK with that.  It’s just who they are and it’s pretty obvious. My first thought was, “look how many friends he has!”  Except they probably all wanted to be on TV... I am beginning to think that Jihoon didn’t actually steal the cell phones he was convicted for selling.  I think he just got late on his payments and took the wrong resolution for his stupidity.  He’s got major character flaws for a “family man” and the only thing he is proud of is his “super sperm”.

Every time Kenneth starts crying I start laughing.  He is definitely the more difficult one in the relationship from what I've seen.

Yes they did get married in Korea and I recall at least her Mother was there too so I don't know why she would want another wedding in Korea, it does not make any sense.  But she is really not the sharpest knife in the block.  Also they don't have any money of their own so don't know who they expect to pay for it. She is the most annoying person ever on this show.

To me Ari, Brittany and Jenny are three peas in a pod.  All of them probably thought it was "cute" being with a "foreign" man.  They probably thought it would be "exotic."  Now shit is getting real and they can't deal.  

But I really detest Ari.  To me she seems to be a person who is in another country and wants everything to be the way it is in the US.  Ari, if you wanted things to be like in the US, then STAY IN THE FUCKING US.  

I didn't like the sheep either but I didn't have a baby with an Ethiopian man and decide to have the baby in Ethiopia.  This is HIS CULTURE and you are in HIS COUNTRY so shut your fucking pie hole and deal.  Is Ari a vegetarian?   

 

I think Britanny and Deaven are both in these relationships just to be noticed on TV, not that either one has anything to offer that realm.  Ari I think has a lot to live up to her successful parents so acts out to draw attention to herself. And Jenny.... I have no clue what motivates her, she probably thinks she is exotic and desirable or something.

I am so sick of Brittany. She can't be that dumb that she thinks that she can stay over there. Is she just trying to collect more checks from TLC?  Is she that stupid to keep posting those half naked pictures on social media? 

 It amazes me, no matter how 3rd world country these places are, everybody has a sophisticated cell phone.  Let's get rid of Britney on the show and yazm (sp) and his family.  That part of 90 day fiance is so boring. I now tape it in just speed through it.

I cringed when they slaughtered the sheep. M and I also kind up left inside because of her reaction. What did she think was going to happen over there? Did she think she was marrying an American? If you want American traditions for having a baby, stay in America. I would never have gone over there to birth the baby. These gals are all ridiculous.

As for the mohel situation, I have two words for Ari: Beta Israel. There’s around 25,000 Ethiopian Jews, surely she could find a mohel in the capital.  

I also think 99% of problem with the hospital, staff and delivery is she looked around and didn’t see enough white faces.  At every turn it’s like she couldn’t believe she was getting competent medical care by Africans.  I guarantee she would not have been that snappy had she brought the baby to be circumcised in some rural hospital in West Virginia or a war-torn area like Sarajevo. I’ve dealt with her kind plenty in my career.  What a snotty bitch.

Yes, Biniyam is annoying, but he’s not the new parent, Ari is and it is clear she doesn’t know a damned thing.  I took his speech about the breastfeeding not as him saying her milk was inferior, but him telling her she needs to maintain a balanced diet for her and the baby.  And he was right. Yes you need water, but you also need protein. I don’t have children but I have had basically the same surgery only to remove fibroids and not a baby. Protein is your friend in recovery lest you want to look like Alfred Hitchcock.  That anesthesia will leave you bald in a few months.  

Brittany is delusional, Kenny is a cry baby, and Deavan takes entitlement to a whole new level. If she weren’t so busy trying to force a relationship so she can sit on her ass as a stay at home mom and get help with that demon seed child of hers she might make better decisions.  All I see from her are demands but no contributions and no action to improve the sitatuon. 

Ari  Is never my favorite, but people have to remember that she has had pregnancy hormones and now probably some post partum depression and more  Hormone trouble. I give her a little grace period because of all that and dealing with a 3rd world country. They are all nuts.   And Kenny and Armando ought to move to the US.   Florida can use architect or dog grooming places. can easily get married. Make enough money to fly back to Mexico for their daughter to visit.

OK, a few points on this:

Cellphones and cell service are actually remarkably cheap in developing countries. Secondly you have to keep in mind that while in the US it is common for people, even lower income people, to have an array of internet connected devices, (e.g. Tablet, Desktop, Cellphone, Home Internet), for many poor people both in the US and abroad, their cellphone is their device. It's their computer, it's their internet, it's their telephone, their music, their TV). I hate the stigma in the US that low income/unhoused populations get for having "smartphones" like it is some decadent luxury. I bet most of us higher income people with cellphones don't really think of them as luxuries, even if they were expensive, we mostly thing of them as essential devices required to remain employed/employable, but we act like unhoused people don't have appointments that they need to keep track of and important emails too?

I bet if we took every single one of your electronic devices away from you but your cellphone you would have a pretty banging cellphone.

Yes. I am not shocked to see people with smart phones (even if they are very low income)- the internet has connected the world and internet access is essential for doing business/communication all over the globe at this point. My Mac book air died in 2016 right after I bought my home, and for a year all I had was my iPhone (and my work computer but I couldn't access everything on that obviously). Had I lost that phone I would've been screwed. And given that the infrastructure for cell phones is more stable in a lot of places than landlines (which is going the way of the dinosaur)...yeah every mentally competent adult has a cell phone.

I love and agree with your whole post @RealReality! Another thing noticeable about Ari and Bini is whenever a disagreement is looming, one of them will cut it off at the pass with the tired, overused "I love you," said now in a sad voice.

There's just a nothingness between this couple except, of course, the innocent child, a novelty plaything for stupid slow Ari. Supposedly at one time there was some hot physical attraction, but now, imo, they actually look at each other with disdain. They've both changed their appearance so much; reality is a bitch.

She lives with her Dad, so I don't think she has much money at all.  

If she was a REAL sugar baby, she'd have some old man paying her rent, another old man paying her car note and another old man sending her money for outfits.  But Brittney has never been shown driving a car and her clothes look basic.

Mostly because by the time developing countries started getting to the point where technology was being built out, wireless tech was advanced enough to be able to handle everything that plain old telephone service over copper wire could - and more cost effectively because running all that wire everywhere that it doesn't already exist is fuck-off expensive. Mobile phones do more than land lines can, and they can do it for less money. Running wire to support legacy telephone service now in a place that never had it is largely a giant waste of money.
