Friday Rant:

• The timeline:  We got several episodes of Sharon writhing around in her sparklies on the Designated GC Kidnapping Holding Area floor.  It seemed like weeks went by.  But.  No one else changed their clothing during this time so it seems that everything happened in a couple of days.  In that day (or couple of days), Ian and Jordan made a lot of repeat stops around town (motel, Crimson Lights, Society).  Chance and Nick were running all over the place.  Must be some very fast transportation in GC.  And Viktor found enough time to deliver his view/ultimatums separately to each of Adam, Vicki, Nikki and his Crack Crew and possibly Michael.
• Which brings me to the question of why did we have to watch Sharon's gasping and moaning and godawful hallucinations for a couple of weeks and then have Claire come up with a plan, talk her reluctant co-conspirators into it and implement it in three episodes?  The latter seems a bit rushed.
• The fricking water bottle:  The fact that Tessa didn't consult a doctor to find out if she did indeed have an asthma attack was just plain stupid.  But you'd think that she would have retraced her steps as to what she consumed, breathed or was exposed to.  Mariah was savvy to what Ian was capable of and was suspicious of the convenient inhaler.  Is that water bottle still there? I would be happy if Mariah figures it out, has the contents tested and finally convinces Tessa what a nasty person Ian is.
• Who really killed Heather?  We were led to believe that Jordan did it-I even think she actually said she did it.  So, were both Ian and Jordan at Daniel's place? That would make more sense as to how the body got moved.  I was calling continuity when Jordan said Ian did it, but what do I know?

I don't think even that would do it, now that Tessa has been transformed into Strawberry Shortcake.

Unless Ian swallows a nest of baby birds whole, she's going to follow his shtick of remorseful hackneyed exposition with wide-eyed, unblinking optimism.  

If Tessa can stand there and not burst out laughing at Ian dressed in his Boris Badenuv disguise, there's no hope, even though her current response to Ian negates everything we've come to know about Tessa.

Btw, is that Sally or a 12 year old girl in a school uniform?  Hey Sally, stick with the natural waves — looks great!

Naw Scoobs, it's too easy, she can't be dead. Josh has nothing else so he will bring her back from the dead because of course the Newman Brain Trust will get sloppy in disposing of her, and she will rise once again. You just wait and see hon, it aint over. We will never be rid of this beastly character, she's like Pricktor, we will never be rid of either of them.

And she should not have told her what she gave her, because now she's acting the fool like she's in that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer and Mickey were role playing illnesses and Mickey was doing a long slow drawn out death scene. And I cannot EVEN with Sharon looking at Mariah with her glassy drugged out stupor stare and asking, 'Mariah, what's wronggggg?' OMFG, someone make this crafest stop!

I don't think she's dead;  Clair dumped a bottle of sleeping pills in her tea--just enuff to make her pass out.

She's too crazy a character to JG to dump.

Amazing how nice Saron's eye makeup stayed on when she was chained to a drainpipe.  And she get to the ER promptly--her blood should be drawn while the drugs are still in her for any possible actions in case Jordan wakes up from being dead.

Claire said she used a whole bottle of sleeping pills to poison Auntie's tea. Hmm, I'd think Jordan would've noticed right away the liquid was a bit chalky or cloudy.

Billy bragged to Jack how he has good ideas for a new enterprise of his own. Sure, William. AI? Cryptocurrency? TikTok videos?

Yesterday Victor crowed he didn't need Jordan's help finding Ian. Then today he demanded Jordan tell him where Ian was before she croaked on Victoria's couch. Huh?

Victor checked his watch while Jordan was wasting her final breaths delivering another overwrought speech. Was he late for a tee time, or wondering why the sleeping pills were taking so long to kill her?

BILLY'S HOUSE!!!!! Wow, YR spent some $$$$. Today's unveiling was timely since basic set looked like it had been Jordan's place back in Oregon.

But dang, how did Sally pull off all that interior decoration without Billy knowing? She even had a photo of Delia. Sally, giirrll, go get your man.

Ew, I hope Victoria's going to buy a new couch after Jordan unalived herself on the current one. She better burn all the throw pillows too. 😱😱😱😱

I had to laugh when Sharon walked into her house and Nick🦍 asked her what she needs. Duh!  She needs to go to the bathroom and a change of underwear 😉. 

I’m a little surprised that Auntie Jordan is actually dead.  I for one, is going to miss her well acted psychotic ranting unlike Manic Phyllis🕷️’s over the top unravellings.  Could Auntie Jordan still be alive?  I wouldn’t put it past the monkeys with a keyboard. 

Sally did a much better job with Billy👃’s new home than with Daniel’s apartment but they are a little too “sterile” for my taste.  

Next week:  

Another failure by Victor’s crack security team by not following Ian and allowing him on the ranch to threaten Victor and his family.  Also, the possible abduction of Tessa and Aria.

Sharon not getting medical attention was ridiculous. Did anyone mention her escape to Chance? Can you imagine the state of her hygiene? It still beats Nick’s, but come on. Dog forbid we see Elena and her one room hospital for 30 seconds. Maybe getting dosed with PCP is something you can take lightly and cure with a hot bath; I am not a medical professional after all.

Was Billy… making sense? I am excited for his new venture, a line of golf cart sized lawnmowers designed exclusively for those with well-endowed nostrils and the nose hairs to match.

Um, anyone notice that Jordie said she wasn’t gonna let Vic put her in a dungeon again?  That little ditty went way over the 3 witches’ heads, eh?  Vic of course didn’t seem the least bit concerned Jordie was revealing what is a pretty big secret, only known by Vic, Cole & Michael.

I’m suspect we haven’t seen the last of her.  Breaking out of the ambulance taking her away?  Rising outta the morgue, or a grave?  She’s still got more havoc to bring on.  Ok by me, if it’s directed at this icky bunch!

They sure spent some good money on Billy’s new set. Actually, I don’t even recall what it looked like before. I’m sooooo over him. He’s not even a fun screwup to root for. Can’t he go to Jabot in Paris?! 

I’m glad to see that Sharon is home and has taken a shower. Never mind she was sitting on her couch beforehand. 

I like CZP but I’m glad the Jordan storyline is done. If they have to bring her back let it be a few years. Now, we Ian Ward to deal with. I’m guessing he gets offed too but who knows. 

There was no Phyllis for a whole week. I’m kind of glad. I’m guessing she will jump down Sharon’s throat the minute she sees her. 

I don’t see any potential new storylines that will thrill me. I know they have a bloated cast as it is but they need a new stud and lady. I mean when is the last time Chance had sex? It seems like such a waste of a good body and hair. LOL!!!!

Killing Heather in a way that would throw suspicion on Sharon was part of Jordan's fulfilling her part of her "You do mine, I'll do yours" bargain with Ian, but even though she was supposed to kill Sharon as well, she didn't because she didn't trust Ian to fulfill his part of their bargain, which was to help her kidnap Claire/Eve.

The eye makeup along with the tastefully applied grime - so she goes home and takes a hot bath, thereby sending a lot of evidence that would prove that she'd been imprisoned in a sewer down the drain - and, please, don't call in GCPD's finest so you can lead them to the sewer you were imprisoned in, they might take fingerprints off the pretzels and bottles of water Auntie Jordan left you, and, heaven forbid, don't go to the ER because they might take samples that might prove that you were drugged.

Did anyone at Sharon’s call the police? I expect Nick and Sharon to be idiots but Mariah is the adult in the scenario so you would think a call to 911 would have been made. 

As a fan of the now defunct As the World Turns, I was hoping Paul Ryan would show up to take his mom back to Oakdale. It would have been much better than the pathetic scenes at the tack house.

So true!  As Barbara Ryan, she was capable of doing weepy & mostly being understated.  I don’t think Colleen ever did these over-wrought, ridiculously high-drama scenes cuz that’s not at all who Barbara Ryan was.

Colleen may be having fun playing this, but it’s too repetitive & tiresome now.  Still, I kinda like having someone around to consistently put this arrogant, entitled bunch in their place.

Sharon thanking Nick for pretty much doing nothing to actually save her?  Dumb & dopey!

Yes and I also thought the lack of reaction was odd. I guess it's possible Cole told Victoria about it and she told Claire but that would be a huge piece of information to have relayed without letting the viewers know. Whatever, I think Victor did pick up on Jordan spilling the secret. That's likely why after Jordan died Victor immediately went into anger mode at the gang of three. He was making sure to put the blame back on them.

Frankly, I didn't think we'd ever see the house. Where Billy was living has been a mystery for quite a while. He wasn't at the Abbott manse, the GCAC, or Chelsea's apartment, and he and Lily sold their condo when they broke up. Seeing him at home wasn't treated as significant even though Billy's a member of one of the legacy families.

Right after Jordan said that bit about Victor not putting her back in his dungeon, didn't Victor interrupt and say "What is she talking about?", which I suspect was an attempt to make her sound even crazier to everyone else just in case she elaborated.  Jordan didn't say anymore and neither did Victor.

You know, it still feels like they’re winging it with who killed Heather.  It feels like the writers must’ve first said, “Let’s get rid of Heather, cuz who cares about her & it’ll free up Daniel & give Lucy more reasons to get drunk”.  And then they said, “Let’s have Sharon kill her, cuz why not.”

And then they later realized they couldn’t have Sharon be the killer, so why not Jordie.  And getting Ian involved came later on, when they worked out a deal to bring Ray back.

Here’s why it makes no sense for either Jordie or Ian to have killed Heather.  Sharon was acting in a spontaneous manner, and at the suggestions of an illusion in her mind, supposedly cuz of the effect of the PCP.

How would they (Jordie & Ian) have known Sharon was going to break into Heather’s apt, to try & poison Daniel?  Were they following her around at all times?  And then they also acted spontaneously, at an opportune moment?  Possible, but highly unlikely.  And Ian’s “grand plan” was actually sketchy & sloppy?  Or was it the writers who were sketchy & sloppy?

And someone earlier said Jordie already casually admitted to killing Heather.  Now it’s been changed & Ian did it?  Why?  So Ian can get his dramatic exit?  Alrighty then.

Yeah, way for Vic to distract from his own sloppy sh*t, keeping Jordie in the basement dungeon, throwing Brussels sprouts at her — by screaming at the 3 witches for their sloppiness.  He is vile.

I think Jordan killed Heather, as casually killing strangers is sort of her thing. She just took the opportunity to blame Ian as a last “fuck you” to her erstwhile boyfriend.

IKR? Ian wanting Sharon and Tessa out of the way so he'd have a clear path to Mariah makes sense to me. But Jordan killing Heather did nothing to help her get to Claire. Counting on Sharon being arrested and going to prison left too many places where things could damage Ian and Jordan's plan. For example, who would've expected hypnosis to clear Sharon of a murder charge?

And don't get me started on Jordan and Ian having sex--albeit off-camera. How did those two hitting the sheets enhance any of this except to increase the WTFery of the entire story arc?

I'm fine with Y&R giving work to veteran actors like CZ and RW. But geez, not like what's been done with Jordan and Ian. Hopefully both actors have at least  gotten decent paychecks out of this crap.

It reminded me of the "fun" storyline with Jill & Colin before they left town - weeks of stupid scenes that were even excruciating in fast forward.

Someone on the show must think goofy overacting is the way to make older characters seem vital & sexy.  Yet Katherine & Rex and now Jack & Diane have shown us how vital & sexy can be portrayed with a mere look between them.  I was in my 30s when Katherine & Rex were together, but instantly saw how vital and sexy they were.
