Anyone missing Gretchie poo & Slade & their non-stop bullshit?  Well, here they are.  But just in case you've forgotten, before you watch this, you must put on your hip boots to wade thru all the bullshit they're both flinging around.  Gretchie poo still insists she left the show on her own accord cuz the other women were "too toxic" toward her.  Oh yeah, sure Gretch, sure.

Gretchen was another interesting case. She won in the Gretchen V Tamara debate just by the sheer crazy of Tamara's vendetta. I mean seriously! Tamara was like a dog with a bone. She was not going to rest until she proved that Gretchen wasn't Jeff's real girlfriend and she was just there for the money. Which, duh Tamara. We all knew that. I always assumed Gretchen was sort of "dating" (I think Gretchen was call girl, but that's just me) Jeff and when he was diagnosed he struck a deal with Gretchen where she would give him the girlfriend experience with a healthy dose of home aid worker and he would provide for her in his will. I don't for 1 minute believe either thought they were in love. It was an arrangement. Scummy? Sure. But so completely obvious that Tamara made herself look like a nut case trying to prove it.

But I think Gretchen let the public's "no kidding" response to Tamara's vendetta coupled with the well deserved outrage over "naked wasted" go to her head and thought people actually liked her! Um, no. You're only likable as compared to Tamara. So is Hitler. It's no big accomplishment. I think she thought she could ride that into her nonsensical issues with Alexis and her gross relationship with Slade. She honestly seemed perplexed she wasn't getting the same support.

One interesting tidbit from the Gretch/Slade interview was her mention of Slade's Bravo compensation going directly to his son (either by choice or by garnishment, she didn't say).  So anyone who appears on the show receives some kind of compensation -- including both Ryans, Vicki's brother, and Lydia's pot smoking mother.

 

I wonder if they all get residuals when the shows are shown overseas or repeated in the U.S.  I'm guessing they do get something.

I wandered over to WETV to see if I could find the final episode with Gretchen and Slade. There is 6 episodes with G&S on season one but the site is featuring season 2. It confused me because I thought G&S were on the current season 2. Anyway, I don't care enough to search further...

Agreed.  It's right up there with the "we REALLY want to get married but we're both just SOOOOOOOOOO busy we can't find the time."

 

Oh, fuck that...if you REALLY want to get married, it can be thrown together in a matter of a few days with close friends and family on an available afternoon.  If you REALLY want to get married and don't just want a big extravaganza, you could even go to City Hall and do the deed in less than an hour.  I'm hard-pressed to believe anyone is so busy 24/7 that they couldn't squeeze an hour in if they REALLY want to get married.  

 

Not unless, in the case of Gretchen and Slade, they're holding out to get the entire spectacle totally comped by some reality show network....which I strongly suspect is what they're up to.  

 

These two are desperately trying to stay relevant and are trying to land any and every reality show gig they can.  

 

I don't think they live outlandishly and Gretchen apparently does make some public appearances, but I have to wonder just how long their finances are going to hold out.  Personally, if this relationship is now just a schtick and "showmance," I think Gretchen would fare far better by kicking Slade's ass to the curb.  Hell, Andy would probably even take her back on RHOC if she had an entirely new real storyline and not just rehashing the great marital debate with Slade every season.

 

I kind of doubt she'll ever kick him to the curb, though.  They seem to be completely and totally cut from the same famewhoring cloth.

After rewatching her first two seasons I can see why Gretchen was treated the way she was by the other women. She was a complete fake. All that crying and wailing about how she was sacrificing her youth to be by Jeff's bedside 24/7 was so insulting. They tried to subtly call her out when she was bragging about all the sex she was having. They asked, how can you be having sex when Jeff is in ICU? She had to make up some lame excuse for the camera.

 

Gretchen and Jeanna have lunch and Gretchen brags about how she's laid down the law. One of Jeff's ex wives visited him in the hospital. Gretchen doesn't like it. The ex wife was told by the teenage son that Jeff was alone most of the time in the hospital so that's why she was visiting. Gretchen admitted to telling Jeff that if the ex wife came to visit, then Gretchen would not. He needed to chose. Like, the man is dying, can he have as many visitors as he wants? It shouldn't have been about what Gretchen wanted.

 

Yes, there is a degree of fakeness but Gretchen casting herself as a devoted fiancée of the love of her life so she could be a fan favorite was nauseating. Ugh. So happy this fraud is off the show.

I agree. It must have been frustrating. The problem with Tamra and her scorched earth policy is that it not only makes her look bad, it's insulting to the viewers. Before Tamra went after Gretchen, I know of many viewers who thought of Gretchen as a complete phony. But, once Tamra told everyone that she was in contact with the Photoglu guy, all they could see was just how jealous Tamra was. 

 

I can't tell you how many times, my friends or even the comments I read on different sites were saying things like "If Jeff and Gretchen have an arrangement, it isn't Tamra's business to involve herself." My personal favorite was "Jeff has like 5 ex wives, he knows what Gretchen is about and still chose to do this." Tamra completely undid her own plan by going so hard on Gretchen. Instead of garnering outrage, she garnered fans for Gretchen. And the fact that Tamra kept harping on it even after Jeff had died did her absolutely no favors.

The effort Tamra exerted to claim the moral high ground after that gambit only made her a much easier target due to all of the heavy, and undeserved back lighting she shined upon herself.

Whether one likes Gretchen or not (I don't much care for her), she did not deserve an attempted sexual assault, nor did she deserve to have that incident become entertainment fodder. No one does.

I believe Tamra said the reason for getting Gretchen "naked wasted" was to show "people" (the audience, presumably) how Gretchen really acted out in public instead of the image she was portraying (again, presumably for the viewers).

I'll say one thing for Gretchen.  As drunk as she was, she still had the sense to rebuff that perverted creeper's advances.

I can't see how they're making much money from this.  I am surprised they got an ep of The Doctors, but that's about the extent of their coverage -- except for OK Magazine & the few shitty media sites which still follow them.  

 

Reminds me of how I can't think of 2 people who should not have a child more than Gretchie poo & Slade.  Will Slade's financial position ever change?  Wonder if he supports his sick son now that he doesn't have any Bravo cash coming in.  And is Gretchie still living off Jeff's insurance dough?  Why can't these 2 just get jobs, instead of living as con artists?  Gretchen seems much more interested in maintaining her hair than in anything concerning children.  Why is she still playing out this ridiculous nonsense?
