JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Wow. Bravo, JBA. I so want to see "Stardust Crusaders," featuring Racist Jojo and the possibility of Franky, and perhaps the entire Straw Hat crew. But I guess Toonami didn't get the show beyond the first two seasons. Why didn't we get a scene of Jojo finding out that Lisa Lisa was his mother? He was trying to see her naked. I wouldn't expect hm to blind himself, but maybe a few self-inflicted punches to the dick. "Smokey Brown"?!? Oi, Japan . . . ETA: Because I have to. "LOOKS LIKE KARS IS BLASTING OFF AAAGGGGGAAAAIIIIII- [twinkle]" ETA2: I made a poster. I probably could've did a Google Image search, but I went to the Toonami Tumblr. -
Found this on Facebook: CBS lists five underdogs of Survivor. Interesting list, and I can't recall anybody else who fits. Granted, the series is a damn blur for me at this point.

Does anybody here watch Ridiculousness? I think there was a clip in the episode with Jessie J that might interest you: a guy trying to launch a pumpkin via slingshot. It ends the same way as Claire's mishap. Check to see if your cable system has that . . . I know it was in a recent episode, and I couldn't find the clip on YouTube.

Bumping up. In the Yorknew arc, which characters are you drawn towards? Any of the Phantom Troupe? Kurapika's new friends? Or maybe there were folks you dug in Heaven's Arena. After tonight's episode, I'm thinking that I'll get a sketch of Kurapika down the line. Definitely with red eyes.

I was spoiled about the Movellians. It's funny that we're going to see some old things this season, but we get started with the braided androids from the other Dalek story in the Tom Baker era. ETA: Movellans. No "i." My bad. And their story is "Destiny Of The Daleks." Bonus: Lalla Ward makes her debut as Romana II, and she goes around in a pinkish version of the Doctor's iconic outfit.

We're never going to see anything or anyone related to Sarah Jane Adventures, are we? I mean, this does look good. I get the cussing and sexuality. And I'm certain no woman is going turn guys into ash through sex. It's a happy medium of the extremes of SJA and Torchwood. I dunno . . . this is in the same vein as SJA, only the Doctor comes in right away to make things official. Also, Miss Quill is basically the anti-Sarah Jane. "Sonic lipstick?!? I wish I could use that! It's so stupid, but I'd kill for that! But then that would kill me!! Did I mention I'm a freedom fighter enslaved to her victor? It's like Firefly, but worse!!!" ETA: We're also never going to have William Russell (always "William"; us Americans have a "Bill") as Ian Chesterton, are we? Wasn't he the superintendent when (shudder) Clara was teaching there? I'm thinking he would have retired/stepped down after Coal Hills' makeover.

Caught last week's episode today. Nice that Kuapika's arc is getting closer to the other guys. Kurapika is set to face Uva . . . Uvo . . . Feral Franky. What? They got the same voice actor. Anybody else uncomfortable about the lead-in to the arm wrestling tourney? All that was missing was Leorio saying, "You know, I am not these boys' pimp. You get that, right?" ETA: DAMN. Kurapika must have made a lot of deals with a shitload of shinigami. And he put Feral Franky into the ground.

Bill is not Clara. That's good enough for me. Nice that Jenna Coleman is doing new things, because Clara was a drag. Now Capaldi has a capable supporting player for the foreseea- . . . oh. Right. Crap. Still not "getting" Nardole. Why does the Doctor keep him around? He seems nice, and I'm good with male companions. Also, he's not from the 21th Century, and that's rare. I don't think we've heard anything about Susan since "The Five Doctors." Nice that she and River are still in the Doctor's heart. Hearts. You know what I mean.

Interesting. Does anybody know the record for most runs scored by a no-hit team?

Heads up to anybody who's been watching: there will be no new episode tonight. Toonami is airing the final episodes of the current Jojo's Bizarre Adventure arc tonight from 12:30-1:30. Tokyo Ghoul will be back at 1 a.m. next week, following Attack On Titan.

Alert: Toonami is running the final two episodes of "Battle Tendency" tonight starting at 12:30. Remember to adjust your DVRs accordingly, especially with Sand Whale and Me screwing things up. -
I've been liking profiles and politely messaging women that intrigue me. Also, a lesbian who came up on "DoubleTake," just to let her know that a guy could read her info, and maybe she should get that checked out. Good news: one answered back. Bad news: I might have screwed up in not getting to tell a woman about myself, and she might be as geeky as me. There was one photo of her where I know that she was posting outside the Javits Center at New York Comic Con. And I probably can't retrieve her profile unless I pony up some dough.

Looked through the schedule. The 1 a.m. block is getting replaced by The Boondocks, starting on Monday/Tuesday, starting with the middle of the third season. In case you're new to the series, that was a good season. It's the fourth where everything falls apart. The episode: "The Fund Raiser," where Riley Freeman gets into the treacherous world of selling chocolate for charity. Sooooooo many f-bombs. Very funny.

This week: Humans! And live action! With RuPaul Charles as Dr. Labcoat!! There are a few effects, but the episode is a lot trippier. And we get lots of guest spots . . . including insane ad men getting ranked out by Judy Greer, who plays a psycho queen on Archer. About last week's episode: in the wild, Mason would totally be dead, right? I mean . . . yeesh. Who wouldn't want him dead?

Mets Fan: The team is on a hot streak. Sure, a few parts are malfunctioning, but nothing is flying off. That means the other shoe drops in three, two . . . Daily News: EX-MISTRESS: REYES HAD ROAD FAMILY! Mets Fan: Damn it, Jose. Didn't you learn anything from Bart?!? Jose Reyes: Does this mean you guys won't be giving away my t-shirt next Friday? Mets Management: Not only that, but we will be burning all of those in center field. And you'll be in the middle of that.

Sorry about that. Teege put something on social media saying that he's not going anywhere.

I'm certain it's a trip for two for each Racer.

Cool. Luckily, Comedy Central will loop back to the beginning, so I can catch what I didn't record. Saw "Who Got Dee Pregnant?" today. Now: what do you think made Dennis vomit the most? He thought that he banged Dee, his twin sister He thought that she mistook him for Charlie He thought that she was the one taking advantage of him while thinking he was Charlie (not unlike the Rick Moranis-looking librarian, if you think about it) He thought he banged a woman that would never measure up to his impossibly high standards. I know, probably #1. Good episode all around. Mac being deluded never gets old.

So far, I only saw one SWAMD name. Is that person a pain in the ass? I'm assuming they all are, given it's a reality show on MTV.

Mets just beat the Marlins in 16 innings. Luckily, they're not playing a day game tomorrow. In a situation like that, why drive back home or to the hotel? Home team gets their choice of which half on the field to sleep on.

"Shamir & Sarah, you are the seventh team to arrive. However . . . after seeing footage of the last two legs, we can't guarantee your safety from locals. Or from each other. You're both better off out of the Race. Shamir, we have a shot of a guy rolling his eyes when you were complaining about the splinter. If you continue, you won't throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium. The fans will throw pitches at you." Actually, a splinter can be a bitch. I got one in my foot a while back. I still use a band-aid and Neosporin. Getting one in the hand? Less problematic. Suck it up, dude. It might be funny if S&S won, and Shamir winds up a complaining head in a jar. And I wouldn't be surprised if the teacher just gave them the clue. Damn, you do not fuck with Becca. Lose your passport, and she might stab you with the Fun Meter. I hope she and Floyd get it together. is it me, or are the guys a pair of tools? I mean, I would probably hang with them over Aston, but some of the luster has wore off. Vanck looked like he was trying to find his happy place at the Pit Stop. Not happy with the U-Turn placement. I think the right to screw over another team has to be earned, as opposed to getting a better flight and/or cab. Seth & Olive didn't get hosed like a few teams in the past, but it was unfortunate. At least this wasn't anywhere near as ugly as Survivor last night. That can be a selling point, right? ETA: OMG, Butterfly!!! Couldn't he use a safety rope for our comfort? Not that Elise & Bertram are the sort to show a guy hitting the ground from thirty feet up, but I would've breathed a little easier.

Well, the site they were originally on has been dead for years. That's why I've been hitting Archive.org and bringing them back on my blog. Just click "The Gauntlet" at the end of the recap, and you'll get the preview special and the other episodes. And I'll update the link on the side soon.

"Justice League Europe: Fuck It, It's A Justice League, Right?" I like the show. Not as hardcore as Gotham or the CW shows, but I find it charming. Or maybe I'm drawn in by Ron. If this series gets canceled, I move that Black Canary's cry be replaced by Ron Funches' laughter. So much for Olympian batting for the other team. Also, does Jack O'Lantern have anything approaching a life?

After a long wait, I posted the one where Coral gets voted into the Gauntlet. I threw in a mini-essay on why I liked her throughout her Challenge career, even though she was a ballbuster.
