I was in touch with her after her season aired, and I met her at a Sanrio event on September 9, 2001. Only time we connected. I was so biased for her during Battle Of The Sexes, even if half of her confessionals in the second half could be boiled down to, "Wait . . . we're doing what?!? No. Nuh uh. Normal people don't do that!!" It's kindasorta funny that her husband's initials are the same as mine.

RW in the Media: Somehow the Show is Almost Relevant
Lantern7 replied to scrb's topic in The Real World
Remember Chris from Go Big Or Go Home? The guy who leaked info on Racist Jenna, yet wasn't that much better than her, Dione and Dylan? This is his current job. Nice that he's providing a service, but it still elicits a huge "HUH?!?" -
Well, Familia is coming back for the weekend. And Jay Bruce blasted two homers tonight to snap the losing streak. He ended up taking a curtain call for the crowd and he was wearing a crown in the clubhouse afterward. Now . . . why do the Mets have to play two 8 p.m. games at home in the span of three weeks?

Tuesdays at 10 is Agents Of SHIELD for me. That's why I didn't watch the episode until today. I'm thinking that this episode was not the first set of matches to be filmed because of the exit of the defending champions, Party Time. I know Brian Arnold can split a room, but Jake Murray is fun to watch, and he can back up his antics. And he didn't hurt himself this time. In his vein, the team making the next round: Golden Hearts. That's Natalie Duran and the bromance between Neil "Crazy" Craver (who is still training with fire) and Grant McCartney. Grant still dances, and Neil is lovably psycho. Party Time and Tre’s Amigoz (captained by Tremayne Dortch) are eliminated, and the Golden Hearts beat NorCal Ninjas (David "The Godfather" Campbell). Also, Natalie finally gets to scale the Warped Wall. And Ring of Fire starts messing up the pros like it did with the college crowd in the last edition.

Dang, I kinda want to see the five-on-one fight. Poovey fucked everybody up. Some things should never change. I could buy Archer cuffing him out of desperation. Charlotte? Still batshit. Still awesome. Not awesome: Lana trying standup. I have to remember that Aisha Tyler got started that way, and she probably didn't crater as hard as Lana did. Am I weird for liking how Jeffery Tambor says "Chinese whores"? I kept laughing. Ditto with the band giving Archer shit, and Poovey getting the first case of hearing loss this season.

S34.E08: There's A New Sheriff In Town (Double Episode)
Lantern7 replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Survivor
And the King is dethroned! Again! Ozzy is good, but he probably should have packed it in after losing to Yul. Debbie did not pull a Dan Foley. I know, she's a lot to take, but she doesn't suck that hard. And now I want her to make it to Day 39 just so we can see how far she would push the Exile-as-hell story. -
S34.E08: There's A New Sheriff In Town (Double Episode)

Bit of a upset. I know Tai weighs about 55 pounds, but Ozzy probably has a scar where the tail used to be. Anybody say the title quote yet? -
S34.E08: There's A New Sheriff In Town (Double Episode)

Kinda hate how not invested I am. I would not be able to pick Hali out of a lineup. Heckuva comeback by Blue. Tai and some girl (see above) almost blew it. Zele and Debbie pulled it out. Jury is starting to take shape . . . is this the second or third time Varner missed out on that? ETA: Don't need to think about Tai's bits and pieces. He's cute . . . but no. -
ANW, Sasuke & Other International Versions
Lantern7 replied to David T. Cole's topic in American Ninja Warrior
Damn. I think that I can figure out how to write "WHAT THE FUCK, DARVISH?!?!?" in kanji. Doesn't Aziz Ansari have a cousin with that name? Is that the same announcer? I kinda miss him. I mean, Matt and Akbar are cool, but I miss that voice. If somebody fucks up that royally on ANW, either Matt or Akbar would have passed out. Maybe both. -
To review: The Mets have lost four straight, Jose Reyes is hitting .100, and the team is supposed to give away his t-shirt on Friday. See, this is why you can't center promotions around players before the season. If the Mets' luck was worse, Matt Harvey would have needed Tommy John surgery on both arms before his garden gnome game on Saturday. Oh, and Bart gave up a homer in seven innings and nothing else.

Normally, I don't post on a movie thread until it's out . . . but I'm trying to be optimistic about this. I was a huge fan of Priest's run. I'm guessing that the film will be a patchwork of many of T'Challa's runs, but I was happy to see Priest's name in the credits for Captain America: Civil War. Of course, I have to nitpick about Martin Freeman as Everett Ross. Ross is supposed to be a schmuck that's always over his head. I think that Priest was worried about people seeing him write another overachieving hero like Quantum, so instead of a ballbusting partner (Woody), we'd get the Crown Prince Of Clueless White Boys. Also, I'm feeling that way about MBJ as Killmonger, though most of that is about the actor not being seven feet tall and muscular as hell.

This was one of my initial thoughts from "Meet The New Boss": I don't think I'm going to miss Mace that much, but he grew on me. He got to be a hero in the Framework, and he died for it. Bright side: he beat May and showed her the light. Not at the same time, mind you, but still impressive. Rest In Peace, you magnificent gladhanding bastard. Like the idea of one conversion per episode. Would not have put money on May turning, though. I figured she'd be a tougher nut to crack. But she gave Daisy the power-up. It might suck if she came out of the cocoon still 75 percent dead from the constant beatings. Hi, Tripp! Miss your old-school spy gear! Shit, Fitz is gonna kill himself once he gets loose. Also, I'm disappointed that Peter Capaldi didn't play his father. But if that had happened, there would have been disappointment that he didn't say a certain four-letter word twice in every sentence. ETA: “I get this itch . . . like hives.” Oh, AoS. Never change.

I'm not feeling that. I hated her in the first three seasons, but she's grown on me. Only way things could suck harder is if Camila wins, and Nicole's infatuation for Laurel and Cara Maria was part of a long-term con by Camila to take out the stronger players. If that's the case, nobody told Nicole that it's over. ETA: And I'm still not disliking Nicole. I know, the cast around her is better than Skeletons, and the peanut butter thing is gross . . . but it's not like she digs in with her fingers and leaves it out for others. Also, it sucks that she can't take Smashley out of the game.
-
Well, that sucked. Shane gets sent out yet again. The Champions don't get any incentive heading into the final Fortress, and the Underdogs win again. And then fucking Camila fucking lucks out over Laurel. How?!? Is good fortune like a STD, and Camila got that from Johnny? No way should Laurel have lost, even in a non-physical battle. Damn, it's even more jarring to see Laurel get eliminated than Jenna. Dunno how the men's Fortress will pan out. CT is strong, but so is Darrell, and they both have kids they want to make proud. I know, CJ isn't aware of CT's profession, but it's still motivation for his dad. Seriously, this season is a bit flawed. The Champs go into the final mission with two players, and the Underdogs are four strong? And the bank system just feels out of place. Also, I don't want Smashley to win. Or Camila, again. And I'm over Nelson and Corey. Oh, and Teege didn't give Shane the "I'm sure we'll see you again" spiel, so that might be it for him. He seems nice and strong. Meanwhile, friggin' Rachel has won twice. That's gotta keep him up some nights.
-
Don't know where else to put this . . . this is from Laurel's Instagram. I was meaning to go over the remaining players in the game. I'll do it quick. CT: Rooting for him. Darrell: Turns out absence does make the heart grow fonder. Well, enough to forget about beating up Brad and going out first in Fresh Meat II. Camila: Can't root for her because it's not like she'd buy better medication for her many, many, MANY problems. Laurel: Liking her, though I still want to call her "Killbot." Nicole: *deep breath* For the record, I do not support everybody on a reality show that hails from my home borough of Staten Island. I liked her on Skeletons because she was halfway normal and didn't cause drama. I know that getting thirsty about Cara Maria and Laurel didn't look good, but I'm glad she's still in the game. Ashley/"Smashley": Whatever. Shane: He never raised hell in his four other Challenges, right? Must be hard to play with people who are probably a decade older than him. Corey: Has his dick fallen off yet? He keeps diving into the BMP lust pool. Nelson: Is he AYTO? I'm not keeping track. Whatever.

Another alert: if you've been watching IASIP on Comedy Central, you might want to know that there will be no episodes on Thursday. It's 4/20, and there's more drug-based humor to be mine from That 70s Show.

Man, I forgot about this thread. I'm still collecting sketches. Here's what I got in the past year: Vashta Nerada by Mike Perkins Doctor Who: The Third Doctor #1: Third Doctor by Aaron Alexovich The Ghost by John Broglia (got this before "The Return Of Doctor Mysterio," which felt like cheating) Ashildr by David DeForne

Funny115: Mario makes fun of Marty's hair. A LOT. I know Mario can split a room, but at least he's able to archive his viewing experiences. I don't even remember Marty, let alone his Gary Busey hair. I think Nicaragua, only three words come to mind: "Naonka," "'Fabio,'" and "SUCK."

Taking it to PMs with you, @theredhead77. I don't want to drag the thread down too much. ETA: I see the problem. When I clicked "Likes," I'd get the "Wanna Go A-List???" message. But I did not see that I could look at profiles I liked. I am very sorry. ETA2: Found her. Sent a message. Probably should have waited until tomorrow during the day, but I just wanted her to know that I liked her profile a lot.
-
OKCupid. I didn't think "fake." When I visited the site before, I would use "DoubleTake," like or pass on profiles, then click the profile to be able to send a message. When I "liked" her profile, I didn't see that I could message her, thinking that perhaps OKC took away the option. I probably screwed up on my own.

What's so bad about that? The Mets aren't as high-and-mighty as the Yankees, and the fans are rarely elitist. I don't think the Mets are in the same class of "cursed" as the Red Sox and Cubs were, but it is a bit of a starcrossed franchise. It does make for good history. I think a movie could be made about their pennant-winning season in 1973. Gotta show everybody that the Phillies never owned "Ya Gotta Believe!" at any point.
-
@theredhead77 . . . I doubt that. Nothing personal, but I am a doubtful person in general. I think she was into geek stuff like me. I don't think that would have led me to a mugging in a Bronx alley.
-
Question for Mets fans: when does Familia come back? The team has lost three straight, including two walk-offs and an eighth inning barrage that counts as the Marlins' last at-bat.

I don't follow dating shows. I don't think there's anybody like me on television, inside and/or outside. There are exceptions, granted . . . though I know how weird it is for a six-foot plus overweight white guy to emphasized with a mixed race lady coming in under five feet. The girl was neurotic but snarky as hell. She found a guy, and I don't hate her for it. Here is her Tumblr, though she doesn't post as often as I'd like. Still kicking myself about the one woman whose profile I can't access without paying. She was posing in the South Park area outside NYCC. I know that was New York! Okay, it might have been San Diego, but I don't know if she can afford the trip. I've only done that three times.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is done on Toonami. They ran the first two editions ("Phantom Blood" and "Battle Tendency"), and Attack on Titan takes its place in the lineup. This is from last night . . . if I have to be honest, damn near any image from either series could be used for this poster. It is that balls-out insane. ETA: Easter is almost over, so here are a few bunny-related posters from Shin Chan . . . . . . and one from South Park.
