  1. First season of Mob Psycho 100 is done. Checking the Adult Swim schedule, I see Toonami is replacing that with the first season of Fire Force. I'm thinking it'll run through October, before we get the second season.
  2. She was horrible in and out of competition. She often sunk the Veterans team with the weight of a hundred Joshs. And I'm convinced the first two spins on the Gauntlet wheel were rigged so that she could pick the game where she'd be guaranteed to win.
  3. Is Steve Guttenberg a star anymore? Looks like the Stonecutters are slipping. Seriously, though, John shines a bright light on the darker/dimmer corners of history. And yeah, I didn't know about Tulsa until that first episode of Watchmen. It does seem like something people should be taught in school. Of course, systemic racism gets in the way, which is always a bitch. If John is planning on verbally taking Tucker Carlson behind the woodshed for a tanning, he's taking his time. His clip was cringe as usual, as was Laura Ingram. Great episode, and John got to use Cameo as a weapon for the forces of good.
  4. Doesn't NBC have a sports station? Air the old Sasuke stuff there. They wouldn't even need Matt & Akbar.
  5. Heads up: NBC will be rerunning this special on Monday night, presumably after The Titan Games.
  6. As always, I’m obliged to provide a link to my recaps. Sadly, Gauntlet 2 is the only season I covered that’s available, and it isn’t that great a season. But yeah, episodes used to be over after thirty minutes. Weird, right?
  7. I’m thinking that if I knew how to flirt at all, I wouldn’t be looking online.

Mascots dealing with no crowds. I thought it would be an actual article, as opposed to a few cute/goofy pics. It’s still worth a look, though. With the Marlins fucking up this huge, I’m guessing the Astros are off the hook for their transgressions. “Yeah, we MAY have cheated to extend our season, but at least we didn’t enable a damn plague that could end the season!”

I’m watching CW11 in New York on the DVR. I’m not hearing anything. Given the Mets are the visiting team, would they get at-bat music?
  11. If you figure the torch is for those that need liberty to find her for protection, the shield could be used to defend them from those that would harm them. Trevor is kicking ass from home, but watching the clip of last night's guest try to explain her situation to the current president was painful to watch.
  12. Well, that was horrible. At least the material put out was fun, but I don't think any of it tops the one riff from the recent Honest Trailer with all of the dancing. "Your hero is in a wheelchair. Why would you do this?!?" McDonald's parody was funny. When they brought up Grimace, I knew it would be Gypsy, but I didn't expect her to go full horror with everyone having fun.
  13. Update: First five episodes of The Gauntlet are On Demand and available on the IFC website. Watching Mac and Me now. Pray for me. 🤓🤓🤓
  14. I can imagine the last minutes of the finale, which would wrap the series up. Fade to black. Message in white: "PS: Steve Rodgers wound up fixing everything those idiots screwed up with time. You want to know how he was an old man at the end of Endgame? Because he needed thirty additional years untangling all of the knots caused by SHIELD." Geez, Garrett, you couldn't slick that hair back any further? Also, anyone else thinking Sybil is basically manipulating things for the "lulz," creating as much havoc as possible? Because recruiting future enemies of SHIELD, showing them their ends, then basically cutting-and-grafting Inhuman powers onto them is pretty fucked up. I think if the finale comes down to one-on-one fights, Garrett will be paired off with Deke. Both of 'em are just annoying at best, obnoxious at worse. And Garrett got off watching Coulson's many, many deaths. His favorite was Loki skewering Coulson. Rat bastard. PS: I know that time travel stuff here has plenty of wiggle room, and that it won't affect the bigger picture. I'm just saying that these guys are making the Legends look tame.

Just saw the highlights. Are the Dodgers still fielding assholes with Puig and Utley gone? My dream is for a batter to get hit, run to the mound . . . and then both guys pretend to make the other’s head explode using their minds. Just have fun with it.
  16. Maybe the male/female teams didn't want another alpha guy team winning?
  17. Am I a huge dork for mentally titling this episode "The Knight Begins To Shine"? Actually, Sir Justin is more of a B-plot. To Geoff Johns' credit, his road to recovery isn't played for laughs. Well, it is played for the one guffaw, as Pat/Stripesy beckons Justin. That was funny, especially because you can imagine Pat doing that for anyone. Courtney gets put through the wringer this week . . . and I was wondering if the locket related to the Cosmic Staff. I guess the Staff decided to play possum until Courtney really believed in it. Well, now the whole family is in the loop. Oh, wait . . . not Mike. It would be funny if he knew. "What the heck, Pat?!? You keep telling me not to reveal that you were an adult sidekick in a striped sweater, which was something I'd NEVER admit to anyone even if I was being tortured, and you share that with Courtney the first day in Blue Valley?!?' And, once again, I think even the English Bulldog is in the loop. I'm hoping JSA Jr. grows more dimensions before the finale. Rick's willingness to fight at the drop of a hat (turn of an hourglass?) is getting a bit old. Yolanda gets points for feeling bad about Henry's death even after all the shit he put her through. Beth contributed by leaving the goggles at home. Otherwise, "Chuck" diagnoses Justin in under a minute, and where's the fun in that? We should brace for the big fights to come . . . especially Icicle and Brainwave dropping trou and attempting to bludgeon each other to death. Who else could lead the ISA? Dragon King looks to be a mere associate, and the others would probably wait on the sidelines rather than gamble on who wins that battle. #SeeWhatIDidThere
  18. Just checked my cable schedule. Bad news: episodes I mentioned are off the schedule. Good news: first episode from The Gauntlet is On Demand. And in a great bit of timing, Honest Trailers covered E.T. this week, and a lot of comparisons were made to Mac and Me. ETA: I made a mistake. Turns out Mac and Me will be airing on IFC on August 7 at 6 a.m.
  19. Emmy nominations were announced today, and ANW didn’t get a Competitive Reality nod. While I’ve been maintaining that it isn’t a reality show, it was the only other nominated series aside from The Amazing Race that I watched. I think last year’s edition was eligible.
  20. Rick and Morty has been nominated for Outstanding Animated Program at the Emmys. The episode submitted: “The Vat of Acid Episode.” Good choice.
  21. Turns out it was a Rick and Morty anime short from the guy behind Tower of God. Toonami made a lot of announcements on Saturday. Fena: Pirate Princess and the Blade Runner anime are set for 2021, and Uzumaki has been bumped back to next year as well. Here's the playlist for Adult Swim Con 2020. Closer to the present: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind returns this Saturday at 12: 30 a.m. Second season of Fire Force debuts on October 24
  22. Well, at least the Mt. Olympus runs were interesting. Will and the other guy were neck-and-neck until Other Guy got hurt. What works better: "Other Guy" or "Vinny's Daddy"? That was a seriously cute French Bulldog. ETA: I knew Hannah Teter because she and Johnny from The Challenge were an item for a while. I know, not the best thing for association purposes.

  24. Not a fun episode, even if your DVR cut off right after Martha Stewart Quarantined. Fox News ginning up the events in Portland is par for the course. The abhorrent situation with the Uighur people can’t be slapped with a happy face to make it better. Or a scarf-wearing cactus, for that matter.
