Chit-Chat: What's On Your Mind Today?
athousandclowns replied to JTMacc99's topic in Everything Else
My mom was an RN and would say that too. Also when working nights that’s when patients go bad too. Both health and behavior. -
I too recall how Sherri was all over every guy also and Russell Brand gave some of her own medicine and she called him a creep on Twitter or some other social media.

Chit-Chat: What's On Your Mind Today?

When I first moved back to my hometown after my husband passed away I had to establish with a obgyn . Previously my long time GP used to do my pelvic exams unless I had issues like ectopic an pregnancy etc. So I was maybe 70 when I went to a woman OBGYN and at end of exam or ultra sound she asked if I was having sex and I said no. She said if you don’t use it you loose it, I was almost 70 and a new widow. I went back to her with an issue recently after not seeing her for years and she either told me at my age paps or mammograms are not done. I just heard on tv the other day that a study shows both woman and men patients being treated by female doctors adds to their longevity. All my doctors have mostly been women intentionally. I was lucky that I worked at a hospital and would get to know about them. When I moved I picked women doctors. I do have male GI doctor who makes note how many minutes he was at my visit. I guess insurance might work that way now. I was at my doctors office yesterday about an ear infection and my doctor has Covid so had to see a brand new woman doctor who couldn’t work the computer brought up wrong patient when she asked me about a medication and I said what is it? She said oh you were on it long time ago… nope wrong patient. She really should have had someone with her. I wear a pin that says I’m Hard Of hearing but back is facing me with a mask and accent. Mercy it was awful. think I’ll try the pillow screaming myself -
I saw that and weren’t all the ladies in Italy on break? Wonder if they got a group rate…sign me up.

I looked it up since I hadn’t heard of that station and it says “TV land is the programing for consumers in their 30s and 40s, with original series and acquisitions” only showing Mike and Molly but I looked on guide and the Contractor one is on Tuesday thanks! -

We toured the Queen Mary when it was docked in Long Beach? Saw the barracks was interesting and sorta shocking. We spent the night on it too. My husband mumbled under his breath the whole time for spending the night on a ship not going anyplace ! Go well we went to Catalina Island next day. I was always in charge of getaways. -

I just found this forum and didn’t know ELR was playing anywhere. I went to Netflix and Amazon so it’s on Peacock on my cable service which I’m not willing to add to my 3 streaming channels. I’d especially like to see The Contractor one since we were in the audience. It was interesting how the crew took pictures of the kitchen down to the last detail in order to put it all back exactly. I can picture Patrica sitting long faced during breaks and Brad came over and chatted with the audience. They also brought in a slice of pizza. Good times. -

Just happened: I have delivery instructions with Amazon to leave packages under stairs to side of my door because I’ve had a thief off my porch. I have a case of a protein drinks I can’t get in the stores and cases of dog food and they’ll put them right up against my screen door so I can’t get out in addition to being in full view. .( door swings out) Ok I get it they don’t read instructions via Amazon. Today I left an envelope with Amazon written on it and put it middle to low on my screen door with a gift card for In and Out Burgers and a note to please put packages out of sight. It’s 7:30 my Ring notification motion goes off and my dog starts barking. I watch as he takes a picture and notices the envelope grabs it and walks down my sidewalk and opens it. He left them smack up against my screen door. If it were me and I read the note I’d walk back and move the boxes out of sight. Guess I have to stay home when I’m expecting Amazon. It was this exact time of night when a package was stolen and I watched it happen while in the checkout at the grocery store. Makes me crabby. -

I envy you all for your traveling. I look daily at solo trips as my best friend has been radio silent since his husband came into an inheritance and we would go someplace together when that happened. I have GI issues Yeah No and was surprised the bracelet that sends little shocks up to your fingers/ palm worked for me.. do I understand that nausea from cruising has to do with how big the ship is and weather etc? The one cruise husband and I went on an agent arranged it and didn’t mention it was storm weather in Mexico and although we were on a great cruise line it was their smallest one. I didn’t get nausea and my husband wore that patch behind his ear and had no nausea. -
That was confusing because I was wondering if Whoopi was going to chronicle her support of her daughter.and her granddaughter etc. Good point about different cultures. Many cultures the kids don’t move out and eventually take care of their parents. i am watching Daniels in American Rust and certainly will catch this next one. What a career he’s had The segment with Mya and her mother has me all watered up.

I thought it had to do with the brides white dress? Did the grooms dress in white?

I am hard of hearing and wear aides. I plead with my cable company to not be transferred to an Indian call center because no matter how many times I say I’m hard of hearing and my aides are not syncing to my phone for some reason it’s no use. ( I have them on speaker) Plus they have a script and really don’t give a crap about “customer service”. I wrote down the 6-7 names of specialists they transferred me to. Technicians are a different experience though ,maybe paid more? Always solve the problem and are patient and pleasant. I am always courteous until that 7th transfer. Same script. I did not go to Disneyland until my first marriage honeymoon at 20. Growing up we were working class living check to check. We watched Disney on Sundays and watched movies. I went to Disney World because my late husband had business in Florida and it was fun I think because I enjoyed EPCOT My son married a woman who is Disneyland crazed, her whole family is and she’s one of 8 and just her dad worked so I believe the numerous times she’s gone were as an adult. A month before my husband died he wanted to take my son and daughter in law and toddler grandsons to Disneyland. I felt bad I didn’t know he liked Disneyland after we’d been married 35 years. He became too sick so it didn’t happen. Once I moved back home I took them all in remembrance of my husband . As many times as my daughter in law had gone she’d never stayed at the Disneyland Hotel ,only motels. I was so pleased I was able to do that as well as it was the little guys first trip. It was crazy though with needing to be at Plutos (?) kitchen at 7:30 in the morning and it was a non stop pace. One morning I got into the shower with my socks on. I felt like there was Temple Grandin in place with the long long lines. I have to admit catching my 3 year old grandson singing and bobbing his head in it’s a small world made my heart happy. I couldn’t figure out how he knew it but mom (a teacher ) prepped him on what the visit would be like I think she explained My son doesn’t get it at all . Not at all. He went to his share of theme parks as a kid with my ex who I used to call Disneyland Daddy. My sons brother in law that goes numerous times a year (lives for it but don’t think he has a morgage but does have 2 kids in college) My daughter-in-law said regarding that Disney cruise that goes to every Disney location she’d go in a heart beat even if it was 24 days long and is $115,000 a person. There are so many places I’d love to see and even go back to ,like Denmark and England. So I’m scratching my head over just going to Disneyland. . I’ll end my ramble with if I got invited to go with my family to Disneyland I’d go just to be with them and be somewhere off my block. Heck they invited me to see Ghoastbusters Sunday and I said I’d look at trailer and let him know , although it didn’t appeal to me at all I went . I nodded off a couple of times. The soon to be 12 year old said he thought the movie might be for adults because of nostalgia. -
Haleth you should have a great time seeing Jim. My husband and I saw him years ago in San Fransisco and was so bizarre that as we’re going in purses went on tables and searched ,people separated ( we are old folks) and patted down. Jim at the time was the cleanest comic around. Most comics we saw were very off color. I finally figured out much later must be that the theater was one that had hard rock bands play etc., because who is going to sneak drugs or alcohol into Jim’s show? During his act he said he looked like a Mormon on a mission and was not just pale he was iridescent white. His act has changed a tad last time I watched a special. I’ve always liked John too. Will be watching. Geez the music is so loud during favorite things I couldn’t hear them talking goodness knows I might need something!

This discussion brought back a memory about TWOP. I think when things were becoming difficult a poster I liked and chatted with told me to go check out Crown Princess MarieChantal of Greece where she also posted. I decided to see if it was still around and it is. Needless to say I didn’t remember my user name but changing my password the confirmation email said it. They had a forum for TWOP and where posters stopped in 2018 I skipped to the end where someone mentioned a moderator(? ) Strega had passed away. I recognize few names there. -

A poster indicated that at least Amy should say something to them regarding dwarfism I just rewatched one and at least Caryn confessed to her friend that she always inserts herself too much and it doesn’t turn out well, so she’s learning boundaries. Too late I’d say. Yet she’s bewildered why they aren’t coming to the event? Funny her ring was suppose to be a promise ring. Chris is a good guy speaking up for his wife ,she’s had a lifetime of a guy who had to be right at all times and kept her in the dark about money and his relationship with an employee. He has a calm demeanor which is needed and pleasant to watch. Early in this show/ series way back Matt said spending time with his family is a waste of his time so he’s created his relationship with his sons. -

I loose pens in addition but now have a rescue dog who finds them and chews them to bits. Can’t count the times this ole lady has to get on the floor with my flashlight to see what he’s chewing under the bed. I’ve had to move so many times in the last few years and with all the packing and unpacking I started carrying one of my late husbands large collection of Swiss knives in my front pants pocket. He always had a mechanical pencil and pen in his shirt pocket when I first meet him. -

I haven’t watched the whole program yet but found Cameron heart story fishy. He said most people can respond to medication but he was going to have surgery as he’s sitting in the car at the hospital? I have a heart condition diagnosed about my late 20s. When my tachycardia went on for several hours my mother and RN made my ex take me to ER. I was given a injection that brought my heart back into rhythm. The injection made me feel like my heart was stopping or I was fainting but instantly back in rhythm after hours to exhaustion. Mine is a defect ,a leak and I’ve been on different meds for it but not a tranquilizer that he made it sound like he was at his maximum that he could take. Is he showing an EKG showing his heart coming to a stop and paddles being used? BS. This is the most toned down attire Michaels has worn. According to this cast the show should throw in the towel. -
Sorry I was agreeing with Bronzedog . i didn’t see any posts for Monday not realizing the protests were everywhere and just watched about the mess on the Golden Gate I enjoyed Michael Douglas, saw him on another talk show in the evening.
