  1. That's the one I use, and it's really good.
  2. I also said Anne of Green Gables for FJ -- the green threw me off, I guess. I did get the TS of Remington, Frankenstein, The Man in the Iron Mask, and salamander. Thank you! I was yelling at the TV about that.
  3. I get my oats as Cheerios -- regular ones in the yellow box. I can't handle the texture of oatmeal.
  4. I had something similar when I worked at a video store (remember those?). A customer came in and asked for "that movie with the Black guy in it."
  5. We didn't have a lot of fast food while I was growing up because there weren't fast food places where I lived. If we wanted McDonald's, it was an hour away. We rarely ate out at all, really. It usually was a special occasion. We did, however, have junk food. I came home from school every day and grabbed a soda and chips to snack on while I watched my soap opera and did my homework.
  6. One of my mother's favorite quotes. We used it in her obituary.
  7. Check at your local community college for paralegal training. They may offer night or virtual classes, if you're interested in that.
  8. Pets not being allowed in shelters is a HUGE problem in the States as well. People will not leave their pets at home -- I most certainly wouldn't -- no matter the severity of the storm. My state has given lip service to the issue, but as far as I know, hasn't really come up with any solutions.
  9. It's a murder of crows only if there is probable caws.
  10. Not when I say it, either. And I pronounce the "ch" as a "ch", not as a "sh" -- Appalachia, to me, is pronounced apple-atcha. And Appalachian is apple-atchin. It is not pronounced the same as appellation, imo.
  11. 4/5 this week -- I only missed Tuesday.
  12. Instaget FJ for me tonight. It runs very close to where I live, and this stretch is quite lovely. I also got the TS of Jerusalem, tender, and Ministry of Silly Walks. I should have gotten cuspidor, but my brain went to spittoon at the beginning of the clue, and wouldn't switch. Is Ben getting tired?
  13. It definitely didn't happen in the book, but I remember big groups of us girls dancing together at school functions in the 70s. Possibly because there were more girls than boys, or maybe just because we wanted to dance and weren't going to wait to be asked.
  14. I finally got to see this, and I have to say that it is one of the best book adaptations I've seen. They trimmed well, and added appropriate extras, and really caught the whole vibe of the book. I loved the addition of Margaret inviting Laura to dance. I also liked that Sylvia returned from Florida while the other grandparents were still there instead of her returning after the others had left. But I still cannot relate to actually wanting to start your period.
  15. My local Regal doesn't. I carry a small-ish purse and a small totebag. The totebag is for wipes and my empty water bottle, which I fill at the water fountain after getting ice at concessions. I use the wipes on the armrests and seat adjuster (we have reclining seats!). The totebag also holds candy at the bottom, under the wipes. I do get popcorn, though -- without "butter". And to make this post a peeve, the last time I did get the "butter" on my popcorn, it leaked through the bag and stained the hell out of my jeans. Took forever and several pre-treatments/washes to get that greasy mess out.
  16. We Didn't Start The Fire was playing on the radio when I started the car this morning.
  17. I applaud the writers who knew what George and Missy should do in the event of a tornado. Too often you see people huddled in their cars under overpasses, which is one of the worst things to do. I also appreciate the realism regarding the tornado itself — the capriciousness of its nature and how it just spun up — unlike in other shows where they seemed to have hours to find a safe place. But yeah, George lying on top of Missy in the ditch and her tearful epiphany really got me. And for once, I didn’t dislike Pastor Jeff. I do hope Brenda and Billy are okay.
  18. I did, but it's been a while. I remember it was quite good.
  19. Instaget FJ, although I did question if it was that late, and if there was a song of his that I'd missed. I hear that one on the classic rock station a lot. I refuse to call it the oldies station! I also got the TS of frieze, Phoenix, Look, Sally Field Goal, and Snagglepuss. Mayim tried with her "exit" line, but it just didn't work. Maybe if she had attempted the Snagglepuss accent or even said "Exit stage left", but nope.
  20. Not an instaget FJ, though it should have been. I did manage it in time to write it down. I got two TS -- qu'est-ce que c'est and Sam Magee. If I'd had to write out qu'est-ce que c'est, I would have lost -- I had to look up how to spell it.
  21. I can't get past the part where they want Dele to live an hour from Harvard. Is that an hour by public transit? An hour driving (which will be way more than an hour at times)? It seems like Abishola would realize what a waste of time it is for Dele to commute minimally two hours every day. And what if he needs to stay late? Or be at school very early? Seems silly to live so far away, even if it would potentially save money. Oh, and does Harvard allow first years to live off campus? My alma mater did not -- we were required to live in campus housing for our first year.
  22. Archive game for me for last night, and I did not get FJ. I had no clue for FJ. I did record the game and may watch, though -- how did Mayim do on the Camus pronunciation? I might also have to watch to see the Poe necklace! I got three TS -- Fossa/foosa*, stay-at-home, and Power of the Dog. I loved that movie. *I have to thank the movie, Madagascar for that one. When I saw it, I wasn't sure what King Julien meant when he talked about a foosa, and I wasn't sure if it was a real animal, so I looked it up at the time and learned the real spelling.
  23. Instaget FJ for me tonight. The only TS I got was "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing." Welcome back, Ben!
