S07.E01: A Weiner Schnitzel and Underwear in a Tree
Browncoat replied to chitowngirl's topic in Young Sheldon
Didn't she say there were vegetables in the spaghetti? -
I can totally buy that it was Attic girl who got sucked off. She was supposed to have sex on prom night, so once she had sex with Basement Boy, she was finished with her journey on earth. Possibly Basement Boy got sucked off, too. (heh).

Barred Owls have the "Who cooks for you" phrase, not Barn Owls. Please do visit the Cornell site. I've been a birder for decades, and regularly use the Merlin and eBird apps, as well as Cornell's website.

Minor nitpick about Flowl -- Barn Owls don't hoot. That screeching at the end was closer to how Barn Owls sound. Otherwise, I thought it was a good ep. I did keep expecting Flower to show up. I thought it would be Attic Girl and/or Basement Boy, and that the ghost Crash saw sleeping in the attic was Flower. It was totally in character for Isaac to be more concerned about his engagement party than about Flower. Isaac is quite self-centered. Loved how Nancy got the basement ghosts back to the basement.

Same here. And I got the TS of gospel, keelhauling, and New Orleans. I was surprised they missed New Orleans, with Louisiana in the clue. Actually, I was kind of surprised they all missed FJ.

I prefer not to be spoiled, especially with competition shows like The Amazing Race. I like the suspense of wondering who will be eliminated... next. And I like learning of the next location along with the teams. For movies, I like to know enough about them to know whether I want to watch, and usually the trailers are sufficient.

Pet Peeves: For when your neck pain is a pain in the neck
Browncoat replied to TattleTeeny's topic in Health & Wellness
My peeve is just being sick. I hate everything about being sick. I hate feeling sick, I hate having to make my own food when I'm sick (tbh, I don't always like making my own food when I'm not sick), and I hate boring daytime television. I opened a can of soup for lunch, and I hate soup. I almost hate missing work -- almost. Currently I hate that I don't know if my COVID test was negative because I don't have COVID, or because my tests are about 12 days past the extended expiration date. I mean, I guess it doesn't really matter, since I'm just treating symptoms anyway, but it might be nice to know. This doesn't really feel like it did when I had COVID a couple of years ago -- no fever, no cough, no debilitating fatigue, just horrible congestion and a scratchy throat (probably from post-nasal drip). -
S06.E02: Valentine's Day Treats And Credit Card Cheats
Browncoat replied to DanaK's topic in The Conners
That bit was funny, but the rest I thought was just ridiculous. Running up Bev's credit cards qualifies for elder abuse, imo, but at the same time, Bev should not have those cards anymore. I can't believe her credit limit would be so high to sustain those charges, either. That whole storyline really bothered me. I definitely side with Becky. -
The most instagettiest of instagets tonight. Once upon a time, I was part of a local community theatre group, and one season we produced that play. I was one of the friends. It's a funny show. I also got the TS of sheep, American Ornithological Society, and changeling.

I feel like I should have known FJ tonight, but I didn't even have a guess. But I did get the TS of Canyon de Chelly, eye in the sky, and anthrax.

S05.E01: The Dead Eyes Of A Respectful Son

Juilliard was a surprise. I expected Dele to say he was going to go to Bob's alma mater. -
The 96th Academy Awards

The Jimmy Kimmel/Matt Damon "feud" will always crack me up. -
I had to do the math to figure out what year they meant, then wracked my brain to figure out what might have happened then. I knew it was too late for the civil rights act, but I was able to come up with the right thing in the nick of time. I also got the TS of customs, Jimi Hendrix, vale & dale, bow & prow, and red algae.

A Case Of The Mondays: Vent Your Work Spleen Here

If you live near me and have a Biology degree, I'll hire you! My assistant just quit, and I need a new one! -
I missed that one! I also liked the Pfizer one, just for including so many women in science. That was funny. Oh, I was just reminded of the Kia one with the little girl ice skating for her grandfather. I liked that one a lot.

I actually laughed out loud at the end of that one. Surprisingly, I liked the Dunkin one, but mostly because of Matt Damon's reactions. The BMW one with Christopher Walken cracked me up. I also liked the T-Mobile ad. And of course I liked the Clydesdales and the doggy. The couch potato one was just a little creepy, but if there was one I despised, I don't remember it. There were some stupid ones (Dr. Umstick) as usual, but none I'd go diving for the remote over.

"Oh HELL No!": TV Moments That Make You Irate
Browncoat replied to magicdog's topic in Everything Else TV
Same in the small town I grew up in. Everyone in town, and I do mean everyone, went to the high school football games on Friday nights. So everyone knew the "star" players and rooted for them to make it big. Unfortunately, because it is such a very small town, most of our athletes were way outclassed when they went to college sports. I don't know of any who played beyond college level. And at least one went to jail for murder. -
Less bad than last week, with a 2/5 and an asterisk for I Walk The Line.
-
I didn't get FJ either. It's been way too long since I read that book. I did get the TS of 86 & 99, Don't Bring Me Down, perquisite, Day of Atonement, and Heartbreak Hotel.

Nothing at all. Just like the guy making the putt in that obtuse way has nothing to do with cell phones. -

Watch the birds in the trees in the background. When Ted says "Birds.", they all fly. He's cueing the birds to fly. -
I got FJ! Took me a bit to come up with the right song, but I do know the title of it. My guess is that they all missed it because the movie is "Walk The Line." I also got the TS of Clark Gable, C.S. Lewis, Monster-in-Law, Gilead, and Of Mice and Men. Have I mentioned recently how much I dislike Steinbeck?

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
Browncoat replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
I'm so mad, y'all. And a little sad. About a week ago, I ordered these special, limited edition shoes the minute they were released -- they're so pretty! Red with golden dragons embroidered near the heels for the Lunar New Year. I'm a Dragon, so I really wanted these shoes! Anyway, they arrived today, and instead of the Women's size 7, the box contained a pair of Men's size 12. And because the shoes are limited edition, and it's been a week, they are sold out of the red ones. They were apologetic about it, and sent me a return label, but I really wanted those shoes! (I need another pair of shoes like I need a hole in my head, but they're so pretty! Even the giant (to me) shoes are pretty!)
