  1. Another good game, although I was very confused as to why they continued to leave the highest value clue in the category. Finish the category, folks! You never know when there might be a DD lurking at those high dollar clues! I only managed to come up with St. Tropez among the very few TS, and had no real clue for FJ. I said Beyonce because why not.
  2. I guessed Carlin for that one, too.
  3. Alex had waaaayyy too much fun with that French pronunciation, didn't he? Overall, I thought it was a good game -- not too many TS, and a nice, challenging FJ, for which I did not have a clue. We'll have to expand our list of usual suspects for British authors! For the TS and missed DDs, I did manage to come up with Colorado, California, Joseph Priestly, worms and NOAA.
  4. I liked Kevin Costner best in Silverado and maybe Bull Durham, when he seemed to still be having fun and enjoying what he was doing. He got a little too self-righteous after Dances With Wolves (though I did like that movie a lot).
  5. Radar just seemed so terribly angry in his goodbye episodes. I think the only time he wasn't was when he was talking to the nurse in the airport. But I will always love that Hawkeye gave him a real salute, even if it was from the OR.
  6. Order of the Phoenix is being shown this weekend.
  7. Agreed. I hadn't really heard of him before The Force Awakens, but since then, I've seen him in a lot of things, and a wide variety of things. He's always different (unlike some), and always does a superb job with his role.
  8. It is very warm compared to the Pacific, especially from about Virginia Beach to the south.
  9. I finally saw this last night, and really expected more of a "Meet The Patels" kind of movie. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was not! I did like "Meet The Patels", but I'm not sure I needed another one. I thoroughly enjoyed this one -- Holly Hunter was excellent as always, and while I tend not to like Ray Romano (everyone does NOT love Raymond!), he was inoffensive here. Mostly I was glad they explained his NY accent since he said in the comedy club that he was from North Carolina.
  10. Does that mean the new season starts Sept. 11? Yay, new Jeopardy!
  11. Dante's Peak and its close cousin, Volcano, released the same year. I can't seem not to watch when they're on TV -- watching Dante's Peak now.
  12. Mean Girls Person one: "Where is your grandpa right now?" Person two: "In the trunk of our car."
  13. I saw this last night, and it was one of the damn stupidest movies I've seen in a long time. That said, I did laugh a lot, and overall enjoyed this total re-run of Ocean's Eleven, but I doubt I'll recommend it to anyone. The accents were all over the place, except for the little girl (who was fabulous in all ways but singing, bless her heart). Loved that she was helping her daddy fix his truck and knew what each tool was. It was also obvious that someone not from West Virginia (or really, anywhere in the southeast US) wrote the script. No one, and I mean absolutely no one around here refers to any highway as "the 85" or "the 13". There's no "the" there -- it's just 85, or possibly I85, but never "the" 85. Somebody needs a lesson in geography as well. The Charlotte Motor Speedway is at least a three-hour drive from the closest point in West Virginia, crossing through a chunk of the conveniently forgotten Virginia. No way could anyone commute daily to Charlotte from West Virginia and be home before dark, much less by 4pm. And I suppose they left the racetrack after the heist well before the race was over, otherwise they'd never have made it. Race traffic is brutal -- almost as bad as eclipse traffic. I did like the heist itself, and the machinations behind it. The pageant subplot made me think of "Little Miss Sunshine" and I had to go watch the dance sequence again. I kind of thought that Daniel Craig and his boiled eggs were a nod to "Cool Hand Luke", but that might be giving this movie more credit than it deserves. I also loved the scientific explanation of the gummy bears and bleach pens, but I'm a science nerd, so there's that. The "prison riot" cracked me up, too.
  14. For a long time, they left out Goblet of Fire instead.
  15. That is one of my favorite episodes, too.
  16. I noticed yesterday on the episode where Charles and Margaret get food poisoning from the bad pheasant that the crackers Charles gets are some of my favorites -- Red Oval Farms stoned wheat crackers. They're delicious! Now watching the one with Potter's anniversary where Radar finds the horse. Throughout the episode, they refer to and call the horse "he" -- even Potter, who should certainly know (Radar should know, too). But somehow, "he" became Sophie, the mare for future episodes.
  17. I tried to watch tonight, but after Lily's first pick, I switched to MASH on tvland. Her annoying board-hopping was bad enough the first time around. I can't stand it again.
  18. Thanks again, @Netfoot, for the "Blasted Blog" -- I really enjoyed reading about your adventures!
  19. They probably didn't expect Harry and the dragon to leave the immediate area. But the other two tasks would be incredibly boring to watch. I suppose it would be rather like car racing -- just waiting for someone not to make it past the grindylows in the lake or to shoot red sparks from their wand in the maze. Every time I watch (and I can't help but watch, every single Harry Potter weekend -- I'm apparently addicted), I am reminded of what an ass Ronald Weasley is. He is downright rude to Luna when they all come back to the castle to find the diadem. ETA: Why oh why didn't Harry take that bloody locket off BEFORE he jumped into the frozen pond or river or whatever body of water it was to retrieve the Sword of Gryffindor?
  20. I am ecstatic that Mary lost. She annoyed me to no end with the DD hunting. I was clueless for FJ, although I've heard of a black swan in that context. I had no idea there was a book of the same name. I might have to give it a read. TS I got were Russia, Qatar and Wendy Williams. I'm glad Alex warned us about the end of the season. I'll likely watch the re-runs if I'm home, but I won't record it if I'm not. And it works out well for me, because I'm going to be away from home for the better part of the week in a couple of weeks.
  21. Neither did I, @ottoDbusdriver!
