  1. I love the episode where Rafe wins the honor of singing for the Ladies' Auxiliary (or whichever organization it was -- I don't remember). The only thing that would make it better is if he'd gotten to sing more. Because Barney can't sing. Not a lick.
  2. I got goji berries from "superfood" -- I don't think I've ever seen one.
  3. They only organized the reunion because they found their old yearbook and started reminiscing. Continuity was not a strong point of this show.
  4. God, Austin is insufferable. I liked Rain, and was hoping she'd do better. Alas. Surprised they all missed Texas and Christian Science -- those seemed obvious to me. I also got bunting, kiting and goji berries. I can't believe the judges even considered flying for kiting! There is no such thing as flying a check. I was clueless on FJ.
  5. Clara's last name wasn't always Edwards, either, was it? Seems like it was different in at least one episode, but I could be misremembering. Also, the first Floyd the Barber was a different actor. I kind of wish they'd addressed Andy's wife, particularly in light of the class reunion episode. He obviously didn't marry his high school sweetheart, and I've never gotten the impression that he went to college, so I wonder who he married and where he met her.
  6. @cooksdelight, isn't that statue in Pullen Park? I visited the park a fair amount when I live in Raleigh, but the statue was put in long after I left. I thought Mt. Airy (Andy Griffith's hometown) was Mayberry, and Mt. Pilot was actually a reference to Pilot Mountain.
  7. Don't blame yourself. Those of us with depression (myself included) can be extremely good at keeping it concealed. You did good with Foxy, too.
  8. Insectivore is what led me to mole as well.
  9. I got the Asian one, but couldn't for the life of me come up with the European one. Just drew a blank. I did, however, come up with room temperature, mole, and reactivity. Sometimes being a science geek is a good thing! Also, Austin? Shut up with the accents. It's bad enough when Alex does it, but when a tool like you does it, it's a thousand times worse.
  10. I take back all the bad things I said about Thursday night football until Austin loses.
  11. While I'm not sad that Ryan lost, I am sad (and annoyed) that Austin won again. But I'm also not sad that I have an event tomorrow night and will miss the show. I'm not even going to bother to record it. I thought of you, @M. Darcy, when the Izaak Walton clue came up! FJ was another instaget for me. I have stopped paying too much attention during the game, and so have stopped keeping track of any TS I might get.
  12. And trilogies have really gotten out of hand. I'm to the point where if I pick up an interesting looking book and find out it's the first of a trilogy, I'll put it right back down. I think the Divergent trilogy soured me on trilogies forever.
  13. Leonard would be a terrible high school teacher.
  14. Not to mention whatever the hell that was he did when he was introduced.
  15. How did no one know "You rang?"? Or for that matter, liberties -- from the ACLU? Also, inoculation is not the same thing as vaccination [/pedantic]. FJ was an instaget. Can Austin just shut up now? Or at least stop shouting, "Bunnies!" So annoying.
  16. Some contestants make the game unpleasant for me to watch -- it isn't fun for me to see the camera-mugging, or time-wasting gestures and chatter, or the starting at somewhere other than the top of the category. I don't like the strategy of taking forever to pick the next clue or decide how much to wager on a DD or even taking the longest possible time to answer the DD, resulting in an uncleared board. Austin is guilty of all those things. It is possible for the game to be fun without all that. I would have watched Ken or Julia forever.
  17. I finally watched, and I was laughing so much when Kenneth did the Brandy parody that I had to rewind and watch that part again. And then when I noticed Jimmy doing backup, I had to pause the recording. So hilarious. I think this was one of their best episodes.
  18. Definitely not! For the record, I got it, and I can spell it, too, Alex. There is no hope for Austin if he doesn't like The Eagles. Mind you, I didn't think there was any hope for him prior to his saying that, but that just cemented it. In addition to psychiatry, I also got Swiss and Marion Zimmer Bradley. I wasn't paying 100% attention to the game, though, because Austin bugs so much. FJ was an instaget for me.
  19. I'm watching it again on my free HBO weekend, and I still love it.
  20. Double grr, adding to my previous grr of yesterday -- I guess bloody football ran long? All I got with my DVR was Colbert! No Thursday Jeopardy! for me! So, since I missed the whole thing, what was the deal with Johnny Gilbert? ETA: Never mind -- found it on jeopardy.com. Yay, Johnny!
  21. "Wheel! Of! Fortune! Look at the studio filled with fabulous prizes!"
  22. Oooh, now I'll have to watch my recorded version just to see Johnny!
