How is it bloody possible that I forgot about bloody football pre-empting Jeopardy! on Thursday nights for the next however long it is? I've found where my local station is airing it, and have set my DVR accordingly, but I might just come here and see if dipwad, er, I mean Austin won again and decide whether or not to watch. Or I might just skip to FJ so I can at least play that question. Grrr. Stupid football.

No, no, no, no, no!!!! I didn't want any of them to win -- the woman was too slow, and Pasha and Austin appeared to be having a contest to see who could be more annoying. I think it was a tie. I suppose the good thing is that there weren't too many TS (Dream House was the only one I got). FJ was sort of an instaget -- it took me nearly the whole time to remember who wrote Gatsby (and my first response was Daisy Buchanan!), then once I pulled that out of my brain, it took a couple of seconds to come up with his wife's name. Although I did manage to say it before time was up, I probably wouldn't have had time to write it down. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have accepted "the wife of the guy who wrote The Great Gatsby."

I only liked the Dalai Lama story because it contained a Caddyshack quote. If it had been anyone else but Austin, I probably would have loved the story. Unfortunately, Austin gets on my last nerve to the point where I could barely watch tonight. As a result, I only wrote down two of the TS I got -- Mazatlan and mother. For FJ, my initial response was M, but I re-read the clue and decided M was too obvious and switched to Q. I've seen that commercial, too, and I'm scared!

The Coke commercial was before their time.

I don't really get the reason for the show, either, but it was okay. I'll watch for a bit before I pass final judgment. Although if it were only available on All Access, nope.

Boo hiss that Ivan lost. Dennis just annoyed me for no apparent reason. WTF missing Ichabod Crane? Especially when middle woman guessed Headless. Y'know, it didn't really hurt my feelings that she didn't make it to FJ. FJ was an instaget, despite that particular poet not being one of the ones I shouted out when the category was revealed. We had to memorize large chunks of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Kubla Khan when I was in high school, so I am terribly familiar with Coleridge. Some of the TS I got include Michigan, Ichabod (of course), Pittsburgh Steelers, precaution, salivary, and NCIS: New Orleans.

Wait, how did I miss that the Klingons had their dead comrades affixed to their ship? Does this make them Reavers?
-
Oh, @Netfoot, I am so sorry.

As much as I disliked it, and as bored as I was by most of it (and annoyed by the mutiny/cliffhanger), I will also say that I would probably keep watching if it were on regular TV. But it isn't worth my money (or time) to find it on All Access.

Not for me! I'm a straight girl myself. I was waiting to see Jason Isaacs, but alas. Only a mere glimpse in the preview for next ep. Which I won't see.

The crooked, off-center zippers are killing me. But at least the girls are wearing clothes that are more sensible than miniskirts.
-
The prosthetics/makeup for the Klingons has got to be the worst I've seen. They look like a cross between the alien from Aliens and, well, I'm not sure what. But it's bad. Now I'm not so bothered about getting involved just to be denied the remaining episodes. It is definitely not worth subscribing to All Access.

The Cast of Young Sheldon: My Mother Had Me Tested
Browncoat replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Young Sheldon
I was just coming to comment on how brilliant the casting seemed, without knowing that it was Laurie Metcalf's daughter. Now that I know that, I think it's extra-crispy brilliant! The kid playing Sheldon is pretty good, too -- all from the previews, of course. -
Must be tough for Alex and his accents to have a native speaker of Russian and many Arabics there. I was really hoping for Freddie Mercury to show up in the Zanzibar category.

When the FJ category came up, I immediately shouted "Walt Whitman!" Imagine my (non) surprise when that turned out to be correct. I also shouted "shoulder!" at Betsy, but I guess she didn't hear me. She should have at least left herself enough to play in FJ. Other TS/missed DDs I got include Sleeping Beauty, lizard, Judge Roy Bean, geographic center, and Nippon.

It doesn't stop them with other accents.

I've never heard of Len Wein, and don't read comic books, but FJ was still an instaget for me. I'm glad they gave end woman "cable" because that's what I said, too. I also got Limerick Day, Ovid, House of Cards and Spanish Armada. All of which were kind of surprising as TS -- especially Spanish Armada. They showed a bloody picture of it! No idea how I knew who Frank Underwood is, though, since I've never seen House of Cards.

And thank goodness Alex didn't really try to give us a demonstration! It was bad enough that he shook his shoulders a little bit.

Yeah, I came up with FJ by thinking of states with an E as the second letter in the abbreviation, then with a B, so Nebraska came to me pretty quickly. I was also surprised no one came up with Mrs. Malaprop. I also got cutthroat, acrylic, and antipodal. I couldn't think fast enough for the state capitals category. However, I never would have guessed Alberta!

I almost forgot! When the "Fishy Movie" category came up, I immediately shouted "A Fish Called Wanda"! It's one of my favorite movies, so I was happy to see that it was, in fact, an answer. Although technically, Kevin Kline shoved chips up Michael Palin's nose, not french fries -- he even waxed poetic about the chip before doing so.
-
Alex was killing me with the accent tonight! I was glad when we finished those categories. Farhad was nice to look at, but lost me when he started starting at the bottoms of categories. TS I got include chevron, the sun, and as a wild guess, Quasimodo. Just because it fit the clue. I had no idea there was an actual person named Quasimodo.

To me, the Sopwith Camel looks more like a dog house!

I sucked tonight, though I did get Drake and Allison Krauss. I'm much better with New Testament than Old, so I blew FJ, too.
