  1. Oh, this is so cute - an Arrow Droid... https://twitter.com/arrowwriters
  2. Welcome back, CL... https://www.facebook.com/CWArrow Arrow - Stunts: Black Canary Vs. Vertigo Published on Apr 10, 2015, by The CW Television Network https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU836DkeqLc
  3. Back to wedding spec - here's a possible scenario for a wedding between Sara and Nyssa: Sara returns from the dead somehow, and she and Nyssa get married. Nyssa is murdered in 3x23, setting up Sara's character for the spin-off. In some Asian cultures, white is considered to be a color that represents death, and mourners at a funeral will wear white clothes. So... White Canary? P.S. I don't think MG said that a marriage follows the wedding. IIRC, he said that it was a wedding and a marriage. Slight difference. I took that to mean it wasn't just an empty wedding ceremony, but one that was intended to result in a real marriage. But no clue as to how long the marriage would last. P. P.S. Even if the CW went away, I'm sure some other network would snap up Arrow, The Flash and the Spin-off.
  4. Hey, the EPs came up with a never-before-mentioned identical twin for Shado. So why not for Sara? Perhaps separated-at-birth twins, one of which was stolen by the LOA for some contrived reason, and Quentin & Dinah were told that one twin had died. Then the stolen twin was raised by Ra's and renamed Talia.... I mean, given all the ridiculousness that we're expected to swallow on Arrow, why not? EDITED: Because I had a temp brain freeze.
  5. I'm thinking that they really have no good explanation for Malcolm sending Oliver to duel Ra's - that it was just a plot device to have Oliver survive the duel (fulfilling the prophecy) and then get picked as Ra's successor. If there was a good explanation for Malcolm's reasoning that would be revealed in the remaining episodes, then MG would've said something like "keep watching".
  6. Great analysis, quarks, although I'm not sure I agree that the lawyer vs. vigilante issue was the major issue for Oliver and Laurel. Now Laurel is both lawyer and vigilante herself, and she apparently has no problem with that inherent hypocrisy. I would put more weight on the toxic back story and lack of chemistry, But perhaps I am misunderstanding your point. I always had a problem with the whole Laurel knowing Oliver better than anyone and always seeing the good or better him even pre-island, when she was almost the last to know that Oliver is the Hood/Arrow (and then she had to be told).

  8. Arrow is briefly mentioned in each article... Can 'The Flash' Movie Outrun 'The Flash' TV Show? 12. Now I'm imagining Felicity slapping Oliver on the face and saying "Snap out of it!" (Shades of Moonstruck with Cher and Nicolas Cage). This made me thing of Agents of SHIELD, where a new SHIELD team appears and takes over the old SHIELD team's facilities - setting up a SHIELD vs. SHIELD fight. So maybe Lyla's ARGUS fights Waller's ARGUS?
  13. I know I mentioned the apparent similarity between Kara and Felicity before (both in personality and looks), but a side-by-side comparison of their dialogue is pretty interesting... Dialogue from Arrow episode 1x03: FELICITY: "I know who you are. You’re Mr. Queen." OLIVER: "Noooo. Mr. Queen was my father." FELICITY: "Right. But he’s dead. I mean, he drowned. And you didn’t. Which means you can come down to the IT department and listen to me babble. Which will end in 3… 2… 1… Dialogue from Supergirl audition: JAMES: "Excuse me." KARA: "Derek, from editorial. Sorry, haven't done your research yet... Wow, no. Not Derek. His bones are way less dense... Not that I know that, because that would be like... Having a dual energy X-Ray observatory meter inside your eyes, which would be crazy..." JAMES: "Yeah, it's... It's James." (source)
  14. I hate it when a fan asks a valid question and gets a flippant response (unless MG is avoiding a spoiler)... http://marcguggenheim.tumblr.com/
  15. Regarding musical, AU and different time period episodes - I think it depends on how well (or badly) it's done, although I think these devices must be used sparingly. Buffy's "Once More With Feeling" musical episode really worked because the singing & dancing were organic to the plot - people were under a spell. Moreover, the singing forced the characters to reveal hidden truths and feelings, and moved the overall plot along. I also liked Castle's "Blue Butterfly" episode where the actors played historical characters. The historical mystery carried into and helped solve a present day mystery. Alternate universe episodes are more iffy - I see them occur mostly on sci-fi shows where they sometimes affect the original universe. I liked Fringe, which had alternate universes. Time travel is interesting because it raises mind-boggling questions. The Terminator is a perfect example. I'm also watching and enjoying 12 Monkeys. It'll be interesting to see what The Flash does with its time travel development.

  19. Some non-spoilery MG responses at http://marcguggenheim.tumblr.com/ Note that advertised Arrow calendar has no Felicity...
  20. I'm still backing Lyla as the floater. Incidentally, I'm not worried about Team Arrow. If Laurel and Roy can beat back League assassins who've been training since childhood, then they should have no trouble defeating Assassin!Oliver. (yes, that's sarcasm)
  21. Also, Ray comes across as indifferent to Felicity. If I hadn't been told otherwise, I would think that he only used her for her IT skills and connections to STAR Labs.
  22. After watching the producer's preview for Flash 1x18, I think I'm gonna skip that episode ("He's like Barry in Oliver's body."). After seeing the promo pics for Flash 1x19, I think I'm gonna skip that episode ("I'm the Black Canary" - "I love you."). Cross-overs sometimes have a negative effect...
  23. TV Shows Need To Respect Death In Order To Carry Dramatic Weight By Paul on Apr 9, 2015 http://www.tvovermind.com/arrow/tv-shows-need-respect-death-order-carry-dramatic-weight-255174 . Meanwhile, on The Flash, Barry Allen now has the ability to actually go back in time and prevent all the deaths he wants. He doesn’t know it, but altering the timeline managed to save Cisco’s life, after we all saw him murdered by Dr. Wells. The problem with all of this is that it creates a distinct lack of stakes when characters can simply come back to life. You simply don’t believe any major character is dead after they’ve been killed, and if they are, you can then say “well,, why don’t they just do this and bring them back?” given that it’s happened before.
