Quentin Lance: Winner of the Least Observant Detective Award
tv echo replied to Lisin's topic in Characters of Arrow
I believe that MG actually worked as a lawyer for a few years. Hard to believe, I know, considering the way the show plays fast and loose with legal issues. -
If the actor playing Howard Stark will be on another show, this is a bad sign for Agent Carter's renewal, isn't it? Dominic Cooper to play the title character on AMC’s Preacher By Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya Apr 17, 2015 3:08 PM http://www.avclub.com/article/dominic-cooper-play-title-character-amcs-preacher-218207

I loved the ultimate ending of Nikita where (iirc) Nikita & Michael left Division and moved to another country - but even in their new life, they couldn't resist helping an innocent victim from brutish forces. If this season had been the last season of Arrow, I would've liked to have seen something similar -- where Oliver & Felicity, along with Thea, Diggle & his family, relocate to someplace far away - perhaps meeting up with Roy - intending to live quietly and under aliases, but then can't resist fighting bad guys in their new location.

Spoilers & Speculation: Running Hot & Cold
tv echo replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Legends Of Tomorrow
Yes, and Sean Bean's Legends has been renewed for season 2. It's possible that the Spinoff title uses "Legends" as part of its title (like Superhero Legends) and JWS was referring to it in the shorthand - or it's possible Legends was another cover/fake title for the Spinoff used to keep the real title a secret. -

Maybe something Oliver does as head/heir of the LOA inadvertently results in the death of baby Sara. They could parallel a flashback of Akio's death and Maseo joining the LOA with the present day events that cause baby Sara's death and Diggle's grief/anger turning him against Oliver. Would the show really go that dark? The death of a child would also put strain on a marriage and could lead to the estrangement of Diggle & Lyla. Then Lyla might rejoin ARGUS and be off traveling (as the floater?). I'm still not sure that Oliver & Felicity riding off into the sunset scene is real and not a dream or hallucination. The EPs do love their fake-outs. If it's real, it could happen in the beginning of 3x23 - before things go to sh*t (again) - and not at the end of the episode.

Oh - these are too funny... "Outside Verdant, Malcolm and Oliver speak about R’as. Malcolm warns him that he has yet to have anyone close to him die. Are we watching the same show?" "'I know who you are,' Felicity says, stepping closer and looking him in the eye. 'Whether you’re in a hood, or a suit…'" I especially liked her color analysis of the good-bye scene: "Another quick insight into the goodbye scene. Roy is in his trademark red hoodie. It is meant to recall the kid he was when Oliver first found him, and it does. Every other character but Felicity is in black. She is in pinks and tans, and in the nighttime in the glare of the street lights, she almost glows, the light in so much darkness, Oliver’s light in his darkest moment. When Ray stares after Oliver, alone, the lights of the buildings behind him are red and blue, the colors of the ATOM suit. Once Felicity is gone, he will find his light in his mission. Kudos to the costume department and director on the lovely visuals."

That's a good comparison. With Oliver, Diggle, Felicity and Roy, we got to know their characters through their own actions and words. But with Ray and Laurel, we often have other characters describing them (as how we're supposed to see them), but what they describe is not always consistent with how these characters act. So there's this disconnect.

I first saw the term "Palmer Island" used in Laura Hurley's review of 3x18 (Public Enemy) that's posted on the previous page of this thread: "Team Arrow did not get to spend a whole lot of time together in “Public Enemy.” With Oliver on the run and Felicity marooned over on Palmer Island, the episode only featured a few scenes of the group together." That entire Hurley review of 3x19 (Broken Arrow) is great and such a good read. Incidentally, if you like her reviews, you should check out her tweets at https://twitter.com/lah9891 .

Regarding Felicity calling Roy "Scarecrow" -- IIRC, in the Wizard of Oz, the Scarecrow was the one who came up with the plan to rescue Dorothy from the Wicked Witch. Here, Roy was the one who came up with the plan to save Oliver. I fanwank that Felicity and Roy recently watched The Wizard of Oz together (off-screen), so that's why she used that reference -- or what dancingnancy said.

Sounds more like Charlie's Angels - esp. if Diggle is sidelined to working the coms in the Arrowcave.

(In honor of Star Wars) "I've got a bad feeling about this"... Evil!Thea versus Oliver? Evil!Sara (White Canary) versus Laurel (Black Canary)? Evil!Dad versus Felicity? And if Andy Diggle turns up alive and a HIVE double agent... Evil!Andy versus Diggle?

Just tweeted by SA: "It's our last day of Season 3. Like the last day of Season 1 and Season 2... I'm going out fighting." Argh... he's killing me! So much for riding peacefully off into the sunset.

Regarding established relationships -- There's Diggle & Lyla. Assuming that marriage remains solid next season, what are the chances that the EPs will allow two happy relationships, let alone two happy marriages, on the show? I'm not sure I buy MG's explanation as to why Oliver was willing to coach Ray but won't train Laurel (namely, doesn't care about Ray, does care about Laurel). Oliver cared about Sara and cares about Diggle, and they both trained with him - okay, they're both experienced fighters. But Oliver also cares about Roy, who wasn't all that experienced when he joined Team Arrow, and trained him.
