--- Putting the Akira slide right in the trailer? -- bold!

This is from 2022, but I just found out about it: 'Wonder Woman's Nubia Pays Homage to Arrowverse's Martian Manhunter' The article goes into more detail (with images), but short version is that they drew MM to resemble David Harewood in this particular comic.

Aw, I was kinda rooting for them, seeing as how they got back together at all. -

LOL -- Sometimes I do wonder who sells all that bulletproof furniture! -
For me, on this side of the pond, everyone on this show has been an 'unknown' until they showed up here. Save Julie Andrews, but she's only doing voicework. Don't think they can afford anyone 'more famous', even if they wanted to.

They had a good end for Woody in TS3 (and TS4, even though I have issues with it), they really need to move on from Woody and Buzz, if they want to keep churning these out.

S02.E10: My Adventures with Supergirl
Trini replied to AnimeMania's topic in My Adventures With Superman
Wow, a lot of stuff happened in this finale! And clearly they wrote it not knowing if there would be another season. (Also, I’m assuming the Season 3 renewal is actually for Seasons 3 and 4.) Gonna have to rewatch for more thoughts later. The power of Love comes through again! Was really surprised to see the villain squad show up! And I really liked seeing Steel again. Yikes — Brainiac was really crazy! He destroyed the Kryptonian empire instead of being “decomissioned” — I think they still probably would have had use for you, Brainiac. They brought back Brainiac’s core(??), but I actually hope he stays dead. Superman’s got plenty of other villains. Aw, Kara at the Kent farm was so sweet! I think it’d be fun to see Jimmy (and everyone else) teach her to be more human. Surprised at Lex and Slade teaming up. I kinda liked that they were rivals. But I suppose that could change next season. Or not! This show does love an unconventional team-up. On a shallow note: Supergirl’s suit is good; but Superman doesn’t really need the extra shoulder 'pads'. There’s other stuff I can nitpick, but that’s the biggest one. I hope they go back to a simpler design (and trunks) next season. -
S02.E09: Pierce the Heavens, Superman!

Also, I thought that Lois having powers in Clark's mindscape was a good way to do that 'Power Transfer' trope without actually doing it. (Not that they can't or shouldn't do it for real.) -
Sorry, late to comment; I mean, if the women have to be 'cheeks out' in bikinis, can the men at least be topless? If the difference wasn't so HUGE between the men and women's outfits (for no real functional reason), it wouldn't be an issue.

Wait, what? That doesn't even... you know what; my bad for bringing it up. We don't need to revisit that. 😬

Mufasa: Animation-wise, looks fine; they improved the expressiveness of the lions. But I don't think many people were clamoring for the backstory on these two. And it's going to be weird watching this story knowing that, eventually, one murders the other. Snow White: Not especially interested in ANY Snow White story; but seeing as how the original is pretty 'meh' next to every princess movie that came after (the perils of being first, I guess), it was probably due for a re-make. Snow being an actual human, and the dwarves being somewhat cartoony CGI isn't quite working from what little is seen of them in the teaser. ["Spoilers" for a decades-old direct-to-video sequel, LOL:] Psyched about Incredibles 3, though! One of the few Pixar films that should be a franchise. I hope they age up everyone this time, though. I hope Zootopia 2 is good, too.

Late to diving; and I'm sure that I'm the hundredth person to note this, but I'm not a fan of these "wedgie" suits for the women. (Not a fan of high-cut legholes(?) in general) I'm sure it's supposed to "elongate the legs", blah blah blah... but that doesn't seem as important here, than as in artistic/synchro swimming.

S02.E09: Pierce the Heavens, Superman!
Trini replied to AnimeMania's topic in My Adventures With Superman
So we did get to see Jor-El again... but not really. It was interesting to see what Clark Kal-El would have been like on Krypton. Awww! The Power of Love!❤️ I'm a sucker for that! Loved Clark & Lois breaking the Black Mercy together. Steve: "That Superman dude gets beat up all the time!" I mean, true; but still LOL! Wow, another new supersuit for Superman; is that what they're going to stick with going forward? (Or will Ma Kent insist on shorts again??) Well, I really don't like that Waller/Lex have Kryptonite and can manufacture it now. 😟 This goes along with the previous episode, but this show makes so many big changes to Krypton and the lore around it. So Krypton was an imperialist (warmongering?) galactic empire; that engineered their powers (did literally everyone walk around with laser eyes??); so I wonder where kryptonite fits in with all that? My main issue with some of that is that I think it's better that Clark's powers come from his connection to Earth and its yellow sun. It's one thing that makes him 'special'. And incidentally, I still have a bunch of questions about Zero Day and when Clark came to earth that haven't been answered two seasons in. -
Well, they weren't doing much with his handlers in the first place; but it's not great that they're losing cast members so soon.

Also a little additional info here: https://tvline.com/news/a-different-world-sequel-series-netflix-dwayne-whitley-daughter-1235312686/ It seems like whatever issues they had that would involve Cosby have been resolved? In any case, I like the idea of a sequel series in principle, but I don't know if Netflix is the best place for it, though.

This is from May, but this interview with Elodie Yung has some of her thoughts on Season 3 and beyond: 'How Élodie Yung Headlined a ‘Very Emotional’ Season of ‘The Cleaning Lady’'

Olympic Fashion: Go for the Gold... Lamé!
Trini replied to Trini's topic in 2024 Paris Olympic Games
There some discussion, and a slideshow, here: https://www.gofugyourself.com/now-lets-give-the-mens-gymnastics-teams-some-love-07-2024 I'm watching the crappy NBC coverage, so I haven't seen many of the designs. I did love the U.S.A. men's leaotards with the wing design. Japan's designs for both men and women's have been fantastic. And I liked Ukraine's for the men's all-around. -
😭 So obviously, this is the low point, things can only get better from here, right?? How exactly was Brainiac controlling Kara? Because I think our heroes should know so they can stop that permanently; otherwise, I feel like he can always come back, and I don't want that. Aw, Jimmy & Kara, still cute! I'm also giving a thumbs down on the Brainiac/Kal-El costume. I can forgive the shoelessness, but the chest window is weird and unnecessary. Speaking of suits, I don't mind the "cat ears" on the spacesuits; but it is odd that there are cat ears on the spacesuit. A lot of stuff happened in this episodes, but they also seemed to have taken several shortcuts just to move the plot along. Like - how did Lois even know what the Black Mercy was, how to use it, and that it would connect her to Clark?(how would it even do that??)
-
Also this thread deserves Stephen Nedoroscik whilst in his 'Superman' persona, glasses off:

Again, I suck at finding good pics; but I nominate Shinnosuke Oka who has a great smile in addition to great biceps: Same with Joe Fraser:
-
Isn't that exactly what they did with the last attempt?
-
As expected; I assume a regular cast member will take over if Harris is elected.

The Fug Girls did a slideshow of some of the women's gymnastics leotards: https://www.gofugyourself.com/the-u-s-womens-gymnasts-wore-stars-not-stripes-in-paris-07-2024 Rhinestones are in this year -- but have they ever been 'out'? They usually do a fair amount of Olympic fashion coverage, in certain categories. -
We need some volleyball hotties in here; gotta look for their schedule... (Sorry, I'm not good at finding pics!)
