I never really watched House, but I can already see the comparisons coming.

Of course the most famous guest star was the mastermind. Never change, CBS! This was an interesting case of the week (even though there were several farfetched things, as per usual). And even though there was a lot of exposition, I think that it was justified in this case. I don't know if 'forecasting for hire' companies actually exist, but I like the idea as presented here, and to me, it seems like a concept they could come back to later. (Maybe Alec or the RAs could work there or consult?) Thought they did good with having Kylie be part of the CoTW, since lately she hasn't been connected to the A-plots. Near the beginning, I knew the appeal to the Rail CEO wasn't going to work because she was thinking as a (of the) corporation, not as a person; based on the experiment they referenced. The issue is, why didn't the characters know that?
-
Yeah, they can fit the role to the actor, I know. They had time to put that in the press release.
-
I don't think they use specific character descriptions (especially guest/recurring cast) to sell to foreign markets. I'm sure the writers* have a specific nationality for whatever crime organization; but that having vague "Asian" in the press release is just sloppy, and I might expect that from any other show except this one. *(Or maybe they don't? There is a new showrunner.)

More Season 4 casting: ‘The Cleaning Lady’ Adds Daniel Bonjour & Alain Uy "The 'Asian' Mob"?? Hope they can narrow that down to one country by the time the show comes back....

I'll take it as a positive sign that Fisk's death wasn't mentioned at all, and didn't affect anything. Points for creativity I guess, but I thought this was one of the more silly cases of the week. The guy really didn't seem important enough for anyone to go through the trouble to murder him. Um, did we know Dante had a living mother?? That was still married to his dad?? Is this the first time we've seen her? Everything about his family before has been his father, his sons, or his ex-wife. I guess one could assume he had a mom, but I don't think she had been mentioned or seen until this episode; so it was kind of a shock that she was suddenly here and talking about divorce (Ben had a wife??). Either these writers/showrunners don't want to write to write romance, or just suck at it (or both!), so I wish they would just stop the teasing with Robyn/Dante - even though I'd like to see them together - because they clearly don't have the motivation to have them actually be a couple. Thought the side plots for Dee and Aunt Vi were good. Obviously glad that they didn't give Aunt Vi cancer. And I recognized the area where they shot the HBCU step team performing; I used to intern/work around that neighborhood! Thanks; I must have missed when they mentioned that; I was wondering why Harry had a cast at the end. Fashion Highlights: "Sparkle" seemed to be the theme for the episode. I liked Mel's metallic outfit; but I think it's hilarious that she's back to wearing clubbing/runway clothes now that she's back on the team! Also liked Aunt Vi's hoodie with the sequin detailing.

Guess this was bound to happen since they decided that this triangle is a thing now: https://tvline.com/lists/911-lone-star-series-finale-spoilers-sierra-mcclain-grace-missing/yellowjackets-bonus-episode-cancelled/

The team investigates who is trying to put a hit on a stand-up comedian. Also, McCall grapples with her feelings for Dante, who is still in town deciding how to proceed with Big Ben, and Delilah continues her college search. Airdate: November 24, 2024

Well, crap. I thought for sure we'd get a reveal, or at least another clue about Sir's accomplice. They showed Sir in an RV; so I thought the team would somehow make a connection. COTW: Figured the missing person was probably having delusions early on. Seems highly improbable though that a teen mother with schizophrenia was able to make it so far on her own, and raised a seemingly normal child, though. Flashbacks: Ugh - Sir's such a creep! And Gabi's always been a fighter, but now we see how that started being literal. So Zeke's stuff getting confiscated didn't seem to affect anything at all. Has there been an episode without any input from Zeke's computer-fu? It might have been interesting to see the team deal with no Zeke for an episode. And he really can't use ANY tech? Besides being at least a bit unreasonable, how would one even enforce that? Poor Margaret, this episode. :( But I did like that they brought back her daughter, and that Dhan was able to talk her down. I don't think there have been many one-on-one scenes with Dhan and Margaret. Glad we finally got a flashback to the bus station incident. Well, I guess Sir having a plan to break up the M&A family raises the stakes, and makes it not only about Gabi anymore. But he wants to "cure" them? Oh man - I would hate it if he's the one to actually solve Jamie's disappearance. (Hopefully, me typing that out jinxed it!) Things that are getting old: a) Sir being able to get into close proximity to everyone but also still not being able to get recognized and/or arrested. b) Gabi confronting Sir on her own because it's PERSONAL. Like, girl - we know you're strong and all, and trying to get your revenge on, but do you want this guy caught or not? BRING BACKUP.
-
I did like that the flashbacks explained how Gabi and Lacey came to consider themselves sisters -- they actually did live together for a while; and it wasn't just the trauma bond of them both being kidnapped.
-
Getting this in before the episode: Nevermind; Sir's accomplice will probably be revealed tonight. From previous episodes, it looked like Sir has been living in an RV, and from the promo it looks like there's a confrontation at an RV.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off - General Discussion

This always seemed like a one-time thing, so this "cancellation" isn't surprising: https://x.com/bryanleeomalley/status/1859336990405296142 -
I need y'all to have faith! 😭 He definitely used to work for the government; not sure whether he's actually ex-military, though. That might be a ret-con? I think they only really got into his backstory in the first couple of seasons, and I don't remember details from that far back either.
-
From July at TVLine: (emphasis mine) But we still haven't seen her yet. I wonder if she gets introduced in this week's fall finale, or later next year? Most of us are thinking she's Lena, (probably) Sir's sister and accomplice, right?
-
I kept forgetting that this was actually getting made (because, why??). Even besides the fact that they seem to be going the shot-for-shot; I don't see how remaking this in live-action adds anything -- except maybe certainn action scenes will be even more traumatic?
-
I think I had heard about this before, but I didn't realize it was going to be a network show. Sounds slightly more interesting than the typical procedural; and I hope it is.
-
Hmmm... according to Deadline, CBS is considering a spin-off. It would be based around two new characters that will be introduced later this season.
-
Here's hoping! But I don't even mind the occasional CIA stuff; it was that Robyn was getting pulled back in way too often (when she's supposedly retired from that life), also past nemeses kept popping up. We can do a CIA plot once a season, IMO.
-
I'm gonna need y'all to not jinx this for me! 😉 This was part of the silly circumstances I mentioned before; police should have been all over that scene within minutes.
-
So that was kind of a mix of a CIA case and an Equalizer case. So a bit more tolerable than a straight CIA case. Ugh -- they were doing so well, then they had to have Fisk say "mall cop" literally one last time. Not sad to see Fisk go, although I thought the circumstances were a little silly/unnecessary. Definitely silly is this love triangle with Robyn's ex. Anyway, nice to see Dante in town and having scenes with Robyn again. Never been a fan of amnesia storylines, so I hope they resolve that soon-ish; as in before Ben dies. Is it a rule that TV hackers have to be annoying in some way? Fashion highlight: Only Robyn's hair this week. But it's also nice to see Dante dress more casually now that he's out of the NYPD.
