Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode

Just caught up/rewatched the last 3 Days. Haiden's always been good but what's with the long buildup for Bo coming back. Julie having a long talk with her, detaining her by the way from stopping the fight! Taking him to Bo's bed. Talking about Caspar as if he wasn't in a freezer...oh, nevermind. Yet we don't get a word from Mary Beth Evans and the more exciting news that Steve is coming back. No buildup at all, writers? Too cheap to have MBE on the set one day to talk about Steve and Joey? The writing is noticeably better and everyone is kinder and even the lighting has changed. Less Abifail! Heck, they'll probably use it to soras her into 6 mos along just as Jeannie Theresa's baby is 6 mos old now. Hilarious how they have a curtained bassinette in the DiMansion sitting room. Tater's old enough to crawl out of it. I think she calls him Tater Tot because she doesn't like the name either and with one take they have to live with her snark. Lima Bean needs to stop bending her pencil arms on her hips with long skirts. That's no way to run away from being killed, girl! Eff this bugging rooms stuff with Eve and Creepy. -
My ex who passed away last year used to grow cherry tomatoes and those things put out. Get out your blender and make lots of marinara, or flash freeze them on pans to drop into sauces! In other words, I'll take some! My neighbors are moving, they used to let tomatoes drop from the vine and I'd, um, borrow them :)

Graham Kerr! What a hoot! Live audience and all. Yes, I too admire how Emeril walked it back, his repitoire wasn't large and he knew it was getting repetitive. My favorite memory is he was doing brats one day and asked an audience member how do you do it in Wisconsin. He answered we boil them in beer and Emeril looked stunned because I guess he never asked someone from Wisconsin before. Yes, we do it in beer. I dunno about Sara, chefs are usually proud to wear the coat and I've never heard her say she's a chef. I always thought she was in the right place at the right time, before cooking got popular again. Right now I'm watching a lot of ATK, I have one of their older cookbooks, I'd love to have the new one that's only $20 that's supposed to include all of their recipes but heck since they've done pot roast ten ways I wonder which one made the book. Online you basically have to pay to get access to them, that's Chris Kimball's particular scam. I paid for membership one year and it was hard getting out of it.

Thank you, it's all coming back to me. I do remember washing a few of the bags although the ends got curly. I recall now that I would easily reseal chip bags too!
-
I stopped using mine because the bags were getting expensive. I found that it was better if I flash froze the items first on a pan because the vacuum process squeezed out juices if I didn't, sometimes interfering with the seal. Or veggies would end up in a clump. Any tips to share? Oh, I should add that if yours has an attachment to vacuum seal a mason jar that's a great way to save things that spoil quickly like oyster crackers and the lid can be reused for that particular purpose. Thanks for making me think of working with the food saver again.

Well these days it's PBS but I definitely remember FN back when I had cable. I learned a lot from Emeril and Mario and Good Eats. I loved that old show 123 Cook which was the first cooking competition I'd seen, and later we got reruns of the original Iron Chef. Sara, not so much. She has a show currently running on PBS and after 20 years of watching her on TV, I've had it with her claims she cannot cook rice. She's not a chef, she doesn't claim to be, I can only think her short blonde cuteness and penchant for oversized cooking tools to compensate somehow got her to becoming editor of Gourmet Magazine because I know home cooks who are far more accomplished. And gawd spare me the fake smile she constantly reminds herself to flash. But yeah, FN was great back in the day and they were the first other than Julia Child. These day's I've seen every food program on PBS several times.

Hope totally forgot she and Rafe had a thing way back when. Hope has no clue about how Creepy Clyde suddenly muscled into trucking to Salem. She can't connect that into how drugs are coming in. It's cool how Vic wanted to divest himself of that but she has no freaking idea of what Clyde is up to?? -
People were wondering a few months ago why Rafe wanted a new attorney for Gabi. Because she was never going to stay in jail for ten years. I'll gladly see her back again but damn, recast Will now. Yes, the Hortons are just awful. I've come to appreciate the Julie for being campy. In small doses. Nick was a creepy treat, I hated everything he did but he was so good at it. Clyde is trying that groove but crossed the line a long time ago. I don't know if he's trying to be a dramatic actor on a daytime soap but I can't even look at his tiny man face. Run away now, Kate.

Yeah but in soap time how am I going to accept peer to peer with JJ and Theo seeing as Chad was just babysitting him the other day. And that Ciara and Claire are rivals? Bad girl/good girl? I love seeing generations but NeoTheo at 25? So what does Bo say? I understand they toned down the teen scene this year for the vet return but...but...confusion
-
Stephono is legacy (as much as I hate that word). If they're going to SORAS to the point where Neo Theo looks older than JJ, Johnny should be there with Sami by his side to work with Chad. I was delighted Jackson went through the list of Will's destruction. Reasons!

Well, I'm in the minority because I think the goodbye was OK because it had to happen, and I think the conversation repetition was a very long goodbye. I caught up on episodes so I think watching Mon and Tues together made it seem longer for me but as others have said, it hit the right notes. I've wanted Jackson to save himself for a long time so he made a good decision and left the door open. I guess all he took were his toiletries but Yurp is where Days people go away for a while. -

I liked the ending. At least there was an ending. After the catharsis and Airing of the Grievances yesterday this was expected. It couldn't go on any longer as much as I miss Jackson. I hated how Won't pulled out the Ari card yet again. Isn't she off with the babysitter all day right now? I felt a bit for frowny baby having to take part in that, but his parents were there and I think it was a decent sendoff. Will needs his mother now. Jackson was only conflicted, he didn't cheat and he removed himself from what he called destruction from Won't. Perfect. -
If the returning oldies stuffed him in a pinata I would lmao for many reasons.

Chloe's return was pointless. I probably spent more time dreading the return of the Bratz doll than she was actually on the screen. Nicky was crying, the next time I looked up they were hugging and it was over. -
This time of year I love using corn on the cob as my whole grain starch, a bit of protein (I don't need much) and a small salad using homemade Italian dressing and the fresh veg available.

My small take on the Failure pregnancy is all about trying to fight her in quenchable lust. Because she had a purity ring, you know. See: Sonny/Will/Sparkle triangle where we're supposed to buy into the sexual tension but we don't really. She's agreeing to the marriage to distract her from the annoyance it isn't Chad's. She's said two lines in the last month about why can't I control myself. Only for the fake angst. I can't forget how she kept stalking him. But we don't know the daddy since Kayla shredded the original test. Possibly soapy but since nobody cares about Ben and few people care about Chabby it falls flat. I don't have a problem with blaming the actors. Sonny's writing isn't any better than Will's but who comes off better? There are other examples. I'm more than sick of Brady's verbal and emotional abuse. If he wants Mela-me, he can track her down. Their verbal/emotional confrontations are worse because it keeps happening daily. Not that physical is ever acceptable. Thank Cheeses I never had to deal with that. -
The hell??? At least Ciara looks like a teen.

What's weird is we have to factor his alleged fame and fortune into whether he had real relationships with those women or not. We know he kept a lot hidden. He's more messed up than Will. It's the only thing I have right now to make him seem interesting to me. -
Likely Will will just get papers in the mail a few months from now asking for a divorce. That's fine, I can't stand this going on any longer. I'm just sad it is Sonny leaving. Remember when Will went to CA last year and we hoped someone else would come back? He can still be Daddy Sonny like just like Mommy Nicole.

This is unpopular but I also got the idea Sparkle had relationships with women, probably used them, but wasn't completely adverse to it but identified as gay. Sure he flirted with every skirt in the hospital but it was said he had relationships. It's possible he just bought them cars but there's a spectrum, as they say. It would be interesting if Sparkle suddenly found himself attracted to a person who happened to be a woman just because, and they let it simmer for a long time and he learned to tone the sparkle down. -

I respect that but Hope's crossed the line into annoying in time for Bo. Not looking forward to it. They finally played the Rafe card in time for him to get slapped down by Bo. Well, I guess I like that he loves older women. My neighbor tried to date me years ago, we had 2 great dates, but when he did the math in front of me and I was 5 yrs older it was done. At least they kept Pet Rafe around without doing much of the Jesus Dan treatment except when he was with Sami of the plaid shirt. Sonny went into the great unknown and delivered that child and I will always love him for it. I think Aidme could make a great serial killer. Nobody suspects him and I think Casper is in the freezer. -
I was talking about the returning veterans, not the people already on our screen.
-
In my limited understanding, beef uses up lots of resources. If you're lucky, in WI we are, most of them eat a good deal of grass but there's grain feed too. We have a good supply of water here too but they don't in CA and TX. So, yes, it shocks me how expensive hamburger is. I don't mind the fat but the higher fat is not ground well enough for me to pick it out of my mouth. I know... I gave up on pot roast a long time ago as much as I love it. In my limited understanding chicken is cheap because they only allow a foot per bird and it's awful. Don't mean to make anyone feel guilty at all. I grew up on meat but I sure love my veg.

I dunno I remember lots of times of Bo going over to see Victor. He always called him Victor but seemed to give him some conflicted respect (he was a cop after all). I swear I remember one instance of him bringing Shawn with him. Grandpa Shawn had a great death scene on the plane. It was pre-internet for me and I wasn't spoiled even after getting the hint that all the dead people weren't really dead. None of the veterans are staying. So they'd better step up the writing.
