  1. Another episode I'll skip. I like Rosamund, but the rest... Nope. This really sticks out as a male heavy season.
  2. New shows already finished I've liked: Damned (UK), Deep Water (AUS), Black Mirror, Goliath, High Maintenance. New shows I like and keep up with: The Good Place, Better Things, Insecure, Divorce, The Exorcist, Midnattssol/Midnight Sun and Svartsjön/Black Lake (both Swedish crime/thriller). New shows I plan to watch/binge that might be up my alley: Westworld, Channel Zero, Crazyhead, The Crown, Falling Water. Returning shows I'm watching: The Missing (pretty good), American Horror Story (pretty great), Scream Queens (pretty underwhelming), Walking Dead (pretty boring), Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (pretty wonderful), Rectify (pretty terrific), You're the Worst (pretty funny). Old shows I'm currently rewatching: Oz, 3rd Rock From the Sun. Yeah, I don't have much of a life. The only new show I've watched and ditched is This Is Us, and possibly Paranoid as I'm two eps behind and it's not really holding my attention.
  3. Season 5 will come out next year.
  4. That's just a part of the fanbase tho. What about the part of the fanbase that would love it (if it's done well)? Is the rioters more important than the cheerers?
  5. The season premiere is pretty much a dud, yes, so don't feel dismayed by that because I think that's a popular opinion. Episode two is generally loved, while episode three and four you can find people on either side, really. Or they're considered middle of the road. It's not the strongest batch, although I really like Untouched but that has a lot to do with Lilah. I think that Angel has trouble with season beginnings in general (apart from one season which I think has the strongest premiere episode out of both Buffy and Angel). Let's just say that season 2 has some high highs and some not so highs, but the season really picks up in the near future. I really do love season 2 Cordy, but let's just say she goes through some... changes, over the course of the series. But you're articulating what you mean just fine! We all know what you mean, you can trust me on that. And Kate will be back soon!
  6. Perhaps he just hated Glee? Because as someone who's watched pretty much everything he's done except past season 2 of Glee and most of The New Normal I don't recognise this at all.
  7. I love Wolfram & Hart and its place on the show so much. I enjoy Lindsay a lot but Lilah is on a whole other level. One of my favorite characters in the Buffyverse. Lee Mercer and his grin is pretty good too, tho. Shame we never saw Mac, the lawyer from Parting Gifts, again because that actress was hilariously crazy on the Aaron Spelling soap Sunset Beach so I always wanted to see what she could have brought to the table. Shame you didn't enjoy Eternity more, it's one of my favourites. Admittedly a lot of that is because of Cordelia. Faith's redemption arc on Angel is so, so good.
  8. I don't think Ryan Murphy hates women either. I don't remember him hating them on Popular, Nip/Tuck or American Horror Story. He wrote some awful women, sure, but he wrote awful men too. Now, Glee became terrible, and I'm sure there were lots of terrible portrayals there (I didn't stick around), but let's not forget that show had shit loads of behind the scenes drama and I doubt Ryan was personally responsible for all that went down there, and no doubt some of that transferred on screen. Murphy is also not subtle. He loves loud, he loves bitchy, he loves over the top, sex, drama. You won't get subtlety from him. And considering how all of his shows go off the rails he's also not a big planner so I think he just throws things in and maybe he doesn't consider the consequences. Now, that's a big flaw for sure and I'm sure there's a lot of non PC writing (to put it mildly, perhaps) there because of it. Maybe he even hated some female actors and POC actors on his shows but, personally, I don't think he's a misogynist or racist. But then again I don't know him so maybe he is, but I haven't seen enough of that to make such bold statements. He's written many great female characters over the years. I also don't think Joss Whedon is a misogynist which seems to be a popular opinion these days.
  9. She is considered one of the worst of the series, I believe. I've said it before but it's a shame the party scene isn't in a better episode. I like Expecting tho, I think it's pretty fun, but for sure it'a not the best. But then I also really grew to love Lonely Hearts and I Fall To Pieces. Not my faves in the beginning but after multiple rewatches I really think they're great and so much fun. I LOVE I've Got You Under My Skin. Great twist. I'm not Kate'a biggest fan overall, but I do like what she brings to the table. I think it was a good character to bring on. Currently doing a rewatch as well. Just started season 4! You're in for a real ride, peaceout.
  10. I am so over Chanel. Please die. And #3 is so boring. Zayday is even boringer. #5 - only there to get bullied. Stamos is hot but boring character. Lautner had an inkling of promise but then they made his character so dumb with the thinking he'a dead storyline. Kirstey Alley is barely there. I'm enjoying Munch and Hester, but now they killed the best one in Denise. They should have just gone with a whole new cast, or at least switched out the young cast.
  11. Yes! The worst episode of the series for me. It made me hate everyone involved.
  12. We got a date! September 29th! https://thekillingtimestv.wordpress.com/2016/09/14/bbc-confirms-transmission-date-season-three-of-the-fall/
  13. I know I listed Wesley as top 10 character but I'm with you with having issues about his "dark arc". It's a love/hate sort of thing. Sometimes he annoyed the hell out of me during late season three and season four, but I felt the same about a lot of the other characters as well. One of the better things about him during that time was his interactions with Lilah, IMO.
  14. I haven't rewatched Buffy in years (I think I got drained after watching it around 15 times in my teens and 20s) but you got me jonezing for a rewatch! Angel too! Which I really hope you'll watch too and write about because it's really great and I love these posts!
  15. Felt like it would be an anthology season but when there wasn't a conclusion I guess not. Maybe two parts for each story? It just doesn't feel like they can sustain this premise for 10 episodes. Not looking forward to a whole season of talking heads and reenactments, but I might be surprised. I wasn't bored exactly but I far from loved it. It felt a bit cheap compared to previous seasons, too. American Horror Story: Budget Cuts. But since these True Story reality shows tend to look cheap anyway perhaps there was a point with that. And goddammit, France's Conroy's out for yet another season.
  16. I'd suppose I'd still rewatch some of the episodes, because of course there are still many great ones. Pilot, Walkabout, Solitary, Raised By Another, Numbers, Deux Ex Machina, Exodus. I suppose I should do the same for season 2 one of these days. I just need to skip the Jack/Kate/Charlie/JinSun flashback episodes.
  17. My all time favorite romantic relationship on either show is probably Wesley/Lilah. It was such an interesting one. There are many I like, but that was one of the only ones that really drew me in and where I was really bummed when it was over (and also really bummed that Lilah died, which to this day is the death that saddens me the most due to wasted story potential). With romantic relationships there needs to be a good story and complexity for me, not just two people to go "aw" or "yay" over, and they certainly had the former. Having said that! I did really think Doyle and Cordy's mostly one-sided romantic relationship very sweet. But they never had the chance to be a couple. I enjoyed the Angel/Darla story a lot so that would be my number two favorite romantic relationship, I guess? But it's not like I thought they were a great couple. As for platonic then easily Angel/Cordy's brother sister vibe and Wesley/Illyria. I did really like Lilah and Lindsey's rivalry relationship as well, but I doesn't really fit in what we're talking about, I guess. I never really had an opinion about Fred with anyone romantically, but I loved her as a character on her own. Favorite 10 characters, oh my. I'll try (loosely ranked): Buffy, Giles, Cordelia (up to Birthday), Lilah, Anya, Wesley, Angel (mostly on AtS), Fred, Harmony aaaand... Willow/Tara/Doyle/Illyria sorry I couldn't decide! Spike, however, should have been staked after The Yoko Factor.
  18. I don't know about that. This is one of my favorite shows of the year, I just haven't felt the need to talk about it or discuss it more than to say "I loved it!" and "That was so great!" Maybe there's more of us who feel the same. I never discuss comedies in general and I don't think I'm the only one. But yeah, loved pretty much every second of Lady Dynamite.
  19. Dude. Hurley is annoyed the hell out of me. Dude. I did like Juliet though! But saying that I still see where you guys are coming from. What amensisterfriend said about liking the show despite most characters instead of because of is definitely true, though. It's why I have a hard time rewatching the first two season. Most of them annoy the hell out of me so the last few times I've rewatched it's been mid-season three and onwards (for the rollercoaster story). I started season 2 a while back but after episode four I couldn't keep going.
  20. I seem to be in the minority but the mystery surrounding season 6 is actually working for me. It doesn't make me think that it will be great or anything, but it is making me excited for the season more than last year with all the talk about drill dildo monsters and all the crazy things that would happen and aren't we so cool and freaky with all this shit? And while I have little faith it will be great it is making me hope, just a little bit, that they actually have a writer's room this season coming up with a more or less cohesive narrative and characterisation and not just throwing a bunch of crazy stuff at us that they can hype until the hype and scenes have no meaning anymore.
  21. At this point the only way to justify anyone (Uber, Jenna, Noel) doing this to the liars would be if one of them actually DID kill Charlotte, wouldn't it? If it's someone else then isn't this whole thing completely senseless? "Oh, it was that other person who did it? Gee, sorry guys." And I'm not including Mona, because she's barely had a scene all season, so it's gotta be one of the core five.
  22. Why the hell wouldn't Alison get an abortion?
  23. The mask s/he threw at Jenna in the van? The mask that looked like an old man with Larry David hair? And also it had to have been Jenna because after she shot and Spencer crawled on the floor, Jenna followed and spoke! With her own Jenna voice! Then she was hit over the head. Jenna also spoke downstairs. So unless A.D was creeping around with a Jenna mask at the same time as Jenna creeped around then it makes zero sense. And I'm not sure it makes sense even then.
  24. I am so confused. Which I suppose is what Marlene wants, but I feel like I'm more confused than I should be. First off, "You know too much." Meaning Noel's involvement in the Dollhouse, I guess. So am I supposed to believe he hung around upstairs hoping one of the liars would conveniently leave something so that he could then confront and kill them. But just a couple of them, because he knew the rest would stay downstairs, so that him and his BLIND partner in crime could dispatch a half separately. Never mind that Jenna waited for minutes before she appeared. Also never mind that Jenna also have a hearing radius of three feet. Or were they not working together at all? Had Jenna just arrived with the gun in tow? I know she couldn't see Noel's head but she must've heard screams (then again she does need a hearing aid) and now there's a head-like thing at the bottom of the stairs and it's not like she called out to Noel or anything like she wanted to know where he was/if he was okay. Then she just pulled the trigger and could have easily shot Noel if he was still alive. Meanwhile, Mary is hiding in the walls listening. Is she with Noel and Jenna? If she is then the three of them really needed to communicate better with two of them wanting to kill the liars, but Mary not wanting at least one of them dead. If she was NOT with Noel and Jenna, why isn't she helping them escape these two psychopaths? Either way, what the heck, Mary? Okay so Noel is dead and Jenna shoots Spencer. WE SEE HER PULL THE TRIGGER. She is then abducted by someone she doesn't know, someone she deduces is A.D, and asks this person; "Did you shoot Spencer." WHAT?! No, Jenna, YOU shot Spencer. Okay, okay, we didn't get a wide shot of the bullet exiting her weapon and entering Spencer, maybe A.D shot from another location or whatever, but why wouldn't you just assume that you shot her when you fired your gun at the liars? Also confusing: A.D tossed a mask at Jenna. A mask of what looked like Larry David. Am I supposed to know who the mask depicts? Also confusing: how did A.D drag Jenna away from the room that seemingly had no exits, never mind a staircase. Lastly. Were Jenna and Noel fans of A.D or something? They seemed to have the same goals and Jenna didn't seem particularly scared at the end, more like she was in awe. But I might have misread that. I laughed out load when Noel's head rolled down the stairs (RIP, stud), but the rest of the sequence seemed like a comedy or a parody and I just couldn't wrap my head around anything. I guess a lot of these things are not so much confusing as they are nonsensical and badly written, BUT STILL. Please explain.
