  1. Hear, hear! I had no idea that's what happened with Wonderfalls. Sharon's one of my favourite characters ever. I knew about George's dad getting "straightened", and Rebecca Gayheart leaving was a shame (although I heard it was about her being involved in that car accident which caused a child's death, not about her not being pretty enough) because she's awesome, but other than that I think Dead Like Me is awesome and Daisy, Daisy Adair was a great substitute for Gayheart (I'd loved to have had them both on the show throughout the show).
  2. I know! That ridiculousness, however, forced me to watch it.
  3. Speaking of opening credits; I loved the opening credits to The Leftover's first season. Absolutely hated the song for the second season. The imagery was good, but OH GOD that song.
  4. Just looked up the actor who plays Dylan because I thought he looked familiar and, lo and behold, he played Danny on Harper's Island! So I have four suspects: Dylan (too obvious?), Robin (but only if it's a team), Cam and Officer Sharma (who's name I just looked up on IMDb). Sharma has pretty much been background only but he's there, so why not. Oh, and split personality Sarah, because it's a fun theory that probably won't make any sense. So five suspects. Which at this point are kind of almost everyone except the police chief and New York journalist lady...
  5. I'd be very surprised if The Executioner is working alone (do they ever?). I don't know if I have a preference, exactly, but I'd be surprised. That was some shout-out to Room that last scene with the police chief and the teenager. What about Robin? He's gotten close to Sarah and if he has an accomplice they could've enacted the Robin chase together.
  6. Oh, I agree, nosleepforme. I'm well aware of the various situations for LGBT people around the world since I read about it a lot and watch docs/movies. Of course these stories are very important, I wasn't saying I didn't think so. I've just personally been putting these particular episodes off because sometimes I need a reprieve from all the horror stories.
  7. I've seen Japan and thought it was great (the pair of them are adorable) but I've been putting off the other episodes because I'm dreading the inevitable sadness. There's only so many horror stories you can stand to listen to/read about each week about what's happening to us around the world, you know?
  8. Trapped was an excellent Icelandic crime-mystery-whodunnit. It just finished its 10-episode run in the UK. Thirteen is also a great British crime drama currently airing, about Ivy Muxom who was kidnapped when she was 13 and at 26 y/o, after 13 years, escapes and reunites with her family, with the kidnapper still at large. But is everything as it seems? Dun dun dun... Three out of five episodes have aired.
  9. I understand if people are frustrated with the lack of love interest for Emily this season. I'm just too sick of all of their romantic relationships to give a crap. The other liars are stuck with the same guys, the same awful triangles, the same yucky teachers as they were 5000 years ago when Satan himself created Rosewood. At least Emily has something different going on.
  10. In the words of Heidi Klum on Project Runway: I don't like this. Explain. No, seriously, can someone explain? Because I'm not sure I understand anything. Suddenly Mrs. D has a crazy twin who's behind all this? And Ali's doctor husband is her child who is also British? And Charlotte CeCe Charles' brother? Is she also British? Amoji is someone who loved Charlotte but isn't any of these people? Possible Sara Harvey but it won't actually be her because that is too obvious? WHY ARE THE LIARS EVEN INVOLVED IN THIS I CAN'T ANYMOGUjftiolcsm
  11. Regarding PLL I think all the relationships are boring and worthless. During the Emily/Paige era of the show that was the only one I cared even a little about, but by the time Paige up and moved to Other Place I had stopped caring. It is unfortunate, in a sense, that the lesbian is the only one currently single but since I kind of hope they're all killed off in the end anyway I'm just happy that at least one of the liars don't have relationship woes since I will stick with it to the bitter end. At least Emily has had as many girlfriends during to show's run as the others have had boyfriends.
  12. Really digging this show! Just binged the first three episodes. I'm also confused about Sarah's investigatory visits with her parents killer and miffed about hunky gay's demise (although Robin is definitely more fun). Also pleasantly surprised by how gory it is. I never watched Scream the Series (looked horrible) but Harper's Island was never this gruesome (fun as it was). Eight episodes seems like a good amount of. Not too many to fuck it up (hopefully).
  13. I only watched the pilot of The 100 a couple of months ago (because I heard it gets good, and I didn't watch it from the beginning because I heard otherwise). I decided after that one episode it wasn't worth it to stay with it until it supposedly gets good. So while I can't comment on Lexa, I agree with galax-arena about it being tired but that sometimes it gotta happen. It's tired because it seemed to be the norm for such a long time, but I don't know that that's true anymore (although maybe it is?) so sometimes us gays are gonna bite it, sucky as it is. Of course, though, it should make sense for the character and not be done to give another actress some juicy drama to play (*cough* Last Tango In Halifax *cough*) or to help redeem another shitty character (*cough Last Tango In Halifax *cough*). I hope they don't kill of Tara or Denise on The Walking Dead yet because I feel like Tara just got into her own in the last 10 or so episodes. I barely knew who she was before (never mind the she even was a lesbian). And now that she and Denise just got together it would really be a shame, and Denise hasn't even been around that long so it would be frustrating if two lesbians couldn't share zombie screen for a while. Same with Aaron and Jesus (if Jesus even turns out to be gay in the series). The gay/lesbian quota shouldn't be just one. On another spot-the-gay note, this Canadian horror series called Slasher just started a couple of weeks ago and has a male gay couple (realtors, natch) in it. If you like slasher movies you might like it. Any other new LGBTQ characters popping up anywhere? I think the only new-ish shows/shows with new characters currently airing that I'm watching that has any are Crazy Ex, Slasher, Schitt's Creek, The Real O'Neals (we'll se how long I'll keep that one up) and The Walking Dead (American Crime just ended, boo, although probably for the best cuz it was almost too heartbreaking).
  14. Jock brother's Lent assignment just seemed like such an easy out to me. Just go masturbate in your room! What you were giving up were long showers. I know that Mother meant masturbation, but technically he only promised to stop doing it in the shower. Perhaps it's because of Martha Plimpton (who's great) but I just don't buy Mother as a devout Christian. I know it's a comedy, but still. Does the dad even give a shit about religion?
  15. Never before have I contemplated giving up on a show for being too heartbreaking. I'm exhausted and so fucking sad right now.
  16. I was bored to tears as well. The first real clunker for me. Didn't respond to the new agents at all (despite Lauren Ambrose, whom I love), went to the bathroom without pausing, took a smoke break. It just didn't feel like an x-file. I didn't think it was funny (a couple of lines notwithstanding) and it certainly wasn't exciting. I felt deflated throughout. Oh well, at least I've mostly liked the rest of the season, but with the last stand-alone episode now behind us, I'm pretty bummed we didn't get a "normal" and serious MotW that didn't include 50% sad distractions.
  17. Good gawd, I'd never heard about this phenomenon before it was mentioned here and it's super creepy, especially seeing it. These people need to be committed.
  18. Yeah I'd say so. It ties to season 1 in a very good way too. And not just a mini Donwton reunion, it's a mini Cucumber reunion! And Gill (Amelia Bullmore) from Scott & Bailey! And Shirley Henderson! Great cast.
  19. Was Sara always insanely rich (limo driver, lives in a hotel, five thousand fake hands with exquisite gloves attached) or did she get some sort of cash prize out of her role in the kidnapping? Did the liars get any money?
  20. Same here. I can't wait to see how all these seemingly unrelated threads will come together.
  21. Firefly hasn't aged well at all for me. I did love it back in the day, bought the DVD and everything, loved Serenity. I started rewatching it last year I could barely stand it. The quip, as you mentioned, was just unfunny, and I could not stand Mal or Jayne. I still liked Zoe and River, but the rest was just boring. Dollhouse for me has aged better. Rewatched that last year too and found it much more engaging (even if Eliza Dushku is the weakest link). The first season has its ups and downs but the second (and last) season is just terrific.
  22. I agree with everyone saying it felt like two episodes battling it out, fighting for attention. I liked both components a whole lot and I enjoyed the episode, but between this, the William fantasy-filled Founder's Mutation and the comedy episode (which I loved, btw), I am kind of bummed that we're not gonna get just a straight up regular MotW episode without all these distractions.
  23. Is Babylon gonna be another comedy MotW? I thought they were doing three stand-alone and three mytharc?
