  1. I know, even Mrs. Readster said: "They saved FOTB and 1 more season of Modern Family and cancelled this?" At least Splitting Up Together is gone.
  2. True, however, what was really going on with the point of being a musical outside the writers wanted to try it? Plus, you think Greg would learn by now, that as soon as something valuable or rare is in his house, problems are going to happen. Love the out takes.
  3. Completely agree and I actually like that they kicked Junior out. The problem is, I feel the writers either forgot or didn't care the real reason Junior dropped out of college was because he was scared of his roommate. Not the: "Why can't I just go with what I feel is right." Acting out of fear is being scared, learning to face your fear is courage. However, I thought they were going to make more ties in with Grown-ish with Zoey being there and her being cut off, but apparently not. I would like to see Junior finding out that trying to strike out making just what he makes with only possible advancement in his dad's company is going to at least make him see he needs more education AND work experience to get anywhere in life.
  4. Oh, I know on the reunion episodes, but people asked Ted Danson if they would do a reboot now and that was his answer.
  5. I agree and even people talked to Ted Danson about Cheers once and he said: "I think by this point, everyone is happy where they are. What's the point?"
  6. It's such a pain, even in regular society. I had a co-worker who had the same problem years ago. If she had a boyfriend, all hell would break through, but her younger brother was being high fived. Someone finally told him: "If he gets the girlfriend pregnant then will you still be patting him on the back." It was like reality all of a sudden hit him. TV Shows are so notorious for this and The Middle was a grand example with Mike trying to keep Sue out of trouble. It got old, especially when he was given Axl and Brick thumbs up, but then almost wanted to kill Axl when he married his dumber than mud girlfriend just piss off Frankie.
  7. Jackson's problem is, he feels that if he loves something, that someone else has to love it to or understand it to where he can be humored. Maggie's problem is she wants things that she is comfortable with. However, Maggie suffers from some type of Gerascophobia an abnormal or incessant fear of growing up. She constantly has to talks about being treated like a baby or when she thinks people are out to get her because "she is so young". She is in here early 30s now, time to get over things. "I hate bugs, I hate camping, I can't have a relationship serious so I have to go buy milk." All it does is paints them as people that don't understand reality. Is Maggie still going to talk about how people make her feel small when she is in her 50s and needs knee replacement surgery? Is Jackson going to discover a love for Hang gliding at 40 and then wants everyone to do it with him to feel the fun? It gets old.
  8. Right, it was more of the husband being: "Never happened before, won't today." attitude. Which I'm sorry, you get to an age where crap like that effects you more directly. Once they started having the wife with asthma, the fact that being an older house built from scratch and the amount of trees they were trying to clear in such a short time. JUST DIDN'T MAKE SENSE! They also didn't look to be an elderly couple with financial problems, so even though the house had sentimental reasons. They would have had it rebuilt with insurance, which from that area being hit every 10 years or so as said. I'm sure insurance companies were not only knocking at the doors of the neighborhood, but people were shelving out money no problem. So, it rings stupid.
  9. Sad to say, a tornado hit a town near by about 5 years ago. Two older women died, because one refused to leave her home thinking that a tornado had never come through the town before. The second because she was scared of basements because of spiders and bugs tend to live there. They both lost their lives, even though neighbors tried dragging them out, but they didn't want to listen. As cliche as the story was, sad to say, it's very true. People get very stuck or stubborn in box thinking with: "Nothing has happened before, won't start now." As soon as Patrick Duffy's arm caught fire from the ember. That should have been: "Let's get the hell out of here." No, he was: "Quick, help me save my house." "Ok, now let's cut up this tree to avoid more fire, even though the damn thing is head right for us!" Morons.
  10. Which is what makes the story line completely stupid. Plus, until now, we didn't know that it was Catherine who said "no" to Pro Bono, which she was for when she first showed up. So, no matter how they spin this, this story line was horrible and you could even go with Meredith paying for it herself or as you said, Saint Catherine could have hired him, have him pay a little until his full health benefits kicked in after 90 days. Oh no, we needed DRAMA and how stupid they wrote Deluca in a jumpsuit like he was thrown in without a trial.
  11. Right, if it has been established since the character showed up. That is one thing, but it really was just used in one episode and barely ever came up. So, having her pregnant wasn't a problem at all, because really. It was more of using Penny as a sergeant that caused so many problems. Once again ONE EPISODE! It be a difference if that was instilled in the character over the course of 12 years, but it wasn't.
  12. I enjoyed the finale. I've seen better, but I've seen much, much worst. I felt except for Raj, it was a great way to wrap up the series. So, farewell Big Bang Theory, it has been a pleasure.
  13. It rings like Desperate House Wives when they though Bree killed her husband for insurance money. They had the agent, tracking and watching her (because he had time for that). They even had the police just magically show up and ready to arrest her after he had watched Bree 2 days. It was so STUPID! even for that show. There is NO WAY that many insurance people or even lawyers would show up like that at a hospital, even if the head staff own the place. It also wouldn't have been that quick, especially when apparently only 2 weeks have passed. Now... if the father had been arrested for immigration and they tracked down the family and saw the inconstancy between the daughter's operation and Elis having the SAME condition as they pointed out. Then you have something, but it wouldn't happen that quick and no way they just be arrested like the person killed them. Not how the law works, not how reality works. You really have to wonder how out there the show will go since they have it 2 more seasons. Which is basically: "If the ratings fall more, you get a wrap up season." "If they are still good, you probably be another season."
  14. There were also many times with Hilda that she needed a reality check or the fact that Betty WAS trying to build a career. It wasn't like Betty didn't put herself in bad situations and not aware of it. Or learn from the same mistake over and over again. However, there were SO many times that Hilda was: "poor me, I'm a single mother" that she needed to be told to stop seeking out bad relationships and other things. I liked by the end of the series where everyone ended up at. However, when you see the build up on Betty and Hilda doing the same mistakes over and over again, you can see why ratings dropped so much in season 3.
  15. Too many shows try to go with "cliffhangers" in the past few years. Many times, these shows never get renewed and they pretty were given either the hints of: "you are going to get cancelled." or "you might end up cancelled." Plus, they have very forced cliffhangers. At least with Single Parents, they gave things that way. Like with Speechless *sniff* did a conclusion, but left things open. Unlike Splitting Up that went out of its way to leave a cliffhanger (a stupid one too). I think shows need to stop acting like they have to leave people hanging to want to come back and think the networks are going to bite. Unless they know up front, it just doesn't work.
  16. It's almost like Fox is "trying" to kill the show the brought back. Most likely since ratings not only went back to what they were on ABC but then started to continue to drop to still good, but not what they once were. I think everyone, including Tim Allen need to realize it's time to wrap the show up. They don't have half the cast anymore they use to, or they are busy doing other projects. No ONE wants: Ryan, Kristin, Boyd or the new "Cousin Oliver". Chuck and Mike's problems are stemming out of the 70s and really the only people who want Jay Leno guest appearances are the show's writers.
  17. Most likely other actor obligations, wasn't in his contract or they forgot.
  18. Bailey wouldn't have missed it. It just all rings so dumb and we knew this was going to happen after Richard saw it too. Plus, most the hospital knows Meredith's children, no one went: "Wait, that's not Elise, hell that isn't even Zola."
  19. It does. Fever Pitch's biggest hole in the story is: "He was given season tickets by his uncle he loved and loves the sport. Why does he need to give it up?"
  20. That happens with a lot of shows that are on for so long. Grey's is a prime example of that. The Middle found itself in the same circle by season 6 and Charlie McDerment not being afraid to say and try to leave the series until he gave up by the end of season 7 and was just happy he still had a job. ABC looks at three things when it comes to a TV show: are the ratings decent, is it not too expensive to make (salaries, production ect) and do they have shows that are DOING better than them. With FOTB, I feel it was more dealing with not only ratings being just above Speechless and also out doing MUCH better than Splitting up or Single Parents. Plus add in Constance and Randall's recent movie success with Crazy Rich and MCU movies. ABC wants to keep them around because once the show is gone, they know they will lose the actors. ABC gets greedy at times, but at the same time. They really need to tell shows: "Hey you know what, you are looking like this will it for you. Wrap things up." Or "You know your politics, stories, ect are out of control, clean it up or you can all get new jobs." Instead they just let things be and then you get pissed off actors, fans and producers.
  21. Yes, and as someone who has been in education for almost a decade, oh yes, I have seen principals who cave WAY to easily, but at the same time, they know what their jobs are. Last season pissed a lot of us with JJ repeating his senior year because it completely rang false. Even when the principal told Maya she wasn't going to get her way. Maya's next reply would have been: "Isn't your job to make sure your teachers are being evaluated or having your school counselors have regular interviews or emails with JJ's teachers?" But it was just hand waved that Maya was called on her crap, but in reality, it was just... stupid!
  22. Right or even Alan on Two and a Half Men. He went from being a man down on his luck who couldn't catch a break from anyone who had a successful business to a man who mooched off everyone. Everyone was about kill him in his sleep from being such an asshole. He said later on: "It wasn't what I signed up for and I never thought we would first go on as long as we did and second when it was forced to why Alan was still living with Charlie and later Waldo."
  23. Exactly and the show also dealt with things people don't want to deal with like helicopter parents. They brought in the bad and the good and gasp! Maya learned over the course of the series. Even in the final season seeing a mom who never learned even though her son was much better equipped to be on his own and her reply was: "I just don't want him hurt!" She though in my opinion did fail on the education side. Not that some schools don't shun or try to get kids to pass. However, they at times treated like JJ's teachers never: filed reports, made phone calls, didn't have counselors, were big schools but never had aids as a thought process. Thinking it was more of like it was the last 1980s or early 1990s. TV shows like this really do need to hire practicing teachers who have had more Special Needs students in all forms. Then even when they do things for a joke, they at least are grounded in reality and make things funny. There were many times from the principal to the teachers on Speechless where I wanted to go: "You be out on your ass or sued by now!" IMO, the teachers on The Goldbergs and Schooled are much more realistic.
  24. Yes and the way they wrote the finale was more of: "We are sure we will get another season" instead of like Speechless where they were: "We will give a type of closure just in case. It wasn't like ABC pulled the rug out from Splitting Up like they did with Last Man Standing two years ago. The show's ratings were horrible after the third episode and they ordered a full season so late as a way of telling the show: "You are most likely not going to be around and we don't have a full season of The Connors due to two other shows we are trying." Yet, TPTB on Splitting Up Together were like: "Nah... we will do it how we have been the last year and just throw things at the wall and see what sticks." Them deciding to bring Lisa back in the last 5 episode since they basically just wrote her off after episode 3 and focus so much on Martin and Lena fixing things (plus Lena being horny) and that they needed to REALLY sell the house and take their hits and move on. It was: "Hey here Lisa, remember her, we are going to really screw things up again! Because otherwise we don't have a show anymore!" Forced drama and story lines NEVER work in the long run. Especially a show doing so poor in ratings. So, happy it's over because by the time of the show ended: Martin turned into an idiot asshole again. All the kids would have had IEPs and Lena would have flipped everyone off and left town.
  25. Yes, to everything you said. Even said how two really good shows in their first and third season, which had the ratings and good writing were chucked and we are getting one more season of this show because they want to "wrap it up" and most likely might just be 18 episodes since ABC will testing a replacement.
