I am at least happy the show was being smart and wrote the finale as a closer just in case. However, I do feel there was plenty of stories on the show. I also think that deciding to have Modern Family have (a final season wrap up) helped to kill the show. Though I do believe Fresh off the Boat should have gone first and not Speechless.

Yeah, The Kids are Alright got the shaft, seriously. Plus, Murphy Brown revival was good. We get another year of Will and Grace, but MB and Cool Kids get the shaft. Of course Mom got two more years because the ratings went up and Big Bang is ending (sniff). -
Right and those would have been more plausible. They could have had it where he was spending more time at home than at school. Still putting in his "scary roommate" as a reason or that he just wasn't ready to be on his own. Or he even putting in Baby D being more of being the reason, which would had played with his girlfriend calling him out on his obsession with his baby brother. But oh no! They had NO IDEA, only they wanted to keep Junior in season 5 and turn him not only into a big baby, but take his emotional attitude down to a 3 year old. Plus having both Dre and Bow and yes even Ruby and Pops skating over the fact he wasn't just spinning, but was turning into: "I need to just feel safe in life." I've read critics and casual viewers who are a lot more critical than we are. They completely call the season focus on Junior' "gap year" as complete crap!

I know, and if they are going to give Bless this Mess another season, Splitting Up is gone, which I'm happy about. -
Especially when the said Unicorn Woman is agoraphobic. However, I find it absolutely stupid that the FEDS would be there so fast and then take just the shrink into custody thinking he was a terrorist. I'm sorry ShondaLand, but FEDS also see who they are with and would have most likely grabbed both the woman and Schmitt himself. Or at the least taken them all, dropped off the woman and Mr. Idiot at the hospital. Plus, they would have been contacted as the reason the doctor was with the woman was an emergency. Oh no, it's: "Come with us, don't say anything sir!" "Also, I hope your patient dies because this guy might blow up a building."
-
Right, very true and we have friends who live in Washington and they are effected by said wild fires too. From breathing levels to small ones sparking. So, hand waving that does work in this type of scenarios.
-
Of course the entire story line is crap because they have done Pro Bono before, especially since they now own the hospital. What happened? Catherine said one day: "Enough with Pro Bono cases, we don't have the money like we use to because of all the hush money." "Charge everyone!" Hell, Meredith could have done charity and paid the bills herself, everyone else caves to her, why not billing?
-
How true. No sooner did the agoraphobic woman get off the plane, the FEDS grab her doctor for possibly being a terrorist. They send Schmitt, the dumbest doctor on the show to get him. Maggie doesn't just hate camping and also put in how she is "special" so all bugs attack her. She actually leaves when she knows her coworker could give birth any day and of course she is trapped during a serious storm. Then add in DeLuca takes the fall for Meredith, Catherine and Bailey both act like they are being prosecuted and with all lives hanging in the balance. A super fog and super storm role in with the police taking one of the doctors away. On top of a love crisis and that Jo finally basically admits her fantasy of her happy family life is ruined now she knows the truth. This is what happens when a show is on too many years and the writers push pet characters to the front and manufacturer drama like no tomorrow. Mrs. Readster even said: "OH God! Just stop!"

Right so at least it has that in it's corner. I just get upset when a show that is doing very lousy in ratings and everyone pretty much agrees it sucks gets a renewal and others done that are much, much better.
-
Yes! That was the main reason, his roommate scared him and when he tried to do it to Jack, Jack just looked at him like: "What is wrong with you are why are you saying this?" I know many have posted that Junior dropped out for a legitment reason, but he didn't! He was scared, never really told anyone why and has been in his: "I'll never have to go to college if I get a great job!" It's completely BS.

Also agree and I find it very stupid that Barry was not told about his community service hours needed. That was something that was checked on every year by administration since the early 80s when it became a requirement. These days it reflects on their records more than ever and they need 30-40 hours. I never had to worry as I was involved in community and clean ups in my groups. Plus, with the way Bev is, she would have been on everyone to make sure Barry got his community service in. Of course, sitcoms treat schools and administrations like morons who got their licenses through mail in rebates.

If American House Wife gets cancelled and so does Speechless and they give Splitting UP together another season. I will cry major foul on the show and that SUT has pictures on someone.

I agree on both, same with Oliver's new girlfriends saying it was endearing and even: "Wow, you are a modern guy." Same with Katie's reaction to Greg's dummy. Another way could have been: "Why didn't you ever do this for all the talent shows or things you like to do?" Because it would still been in character and a better spin on things. It's like when you reveal you have debt to a spouse from before you met do to: "moving, bad relationship, ect." You don't come right out and say it, but if they then say: "If I would have known that, there would have been no marriage." Because you know, people don't struggle or get crap sent to them.
-
I didn't like that part at all. I get Katie's reaction to Greg's old hobby was totally Katie, but at the same time her response: "If I would have known that, I would have dropped you." You know what people! People have hobbies, they might never make sense, but when you have a talent that is pretty good like that. You don't shame them. Same with Oliver's situation, him bringing up his Harry Potter phase and so forth. His girlfriend thought that was nice. It's just a losey lesson and I can't feel sorry for Chloe. She shames and talks about how horrible everyone is and how great having money (when you were left by your ex) and took all the money you could. Make your kids see that your life is miserable, but want them to be just like you. Sorry, at what point do you get a reality check that maybe, just maybe you suck as a person. Also, writers, I get it's a joke, but if someone was eating carrot soup every day, they would be bones.
-
Right that's when a show especially a sitcom has gone out the window. It's painful and not funny at all. It makes the characters look horrible and the jokes are so cheap you think it was written by an 8th grade watching a video about a dog with his head caught in the garbage.
-
Right, that completely went against the character and the way he has been acting and others have been dealing with it is also out of character. Yes, Zoey got cut off for being an idiot by cheating, but it was still in character for Zoey. With Junior, it hasn't made sense since Day 1 and it just got worst and worst. Even after getting the job at Dre's company he told his siblings: "Now, by getting this job I will never have to go to college AGAIN!" Which is where his character just went out.
-
That's exactly it! It's to the point now where she is 30 minutes from being checked into pysch.
-
Junior's character has been completely ruined with this "gap year" crap this year. He has not only been acting out of character, but others are enabling his behavior. He gets called on it and just keeps going with his: "I'll work a great job and NEVER have to go to college!" It's crap and at times you can tell the actor doesn't believe what he is saying.
-
That's exactly it. Plus, Jay would want to see at this point time, his own grandchild who WENT to college and is actually graduated. Verses Haley who doesn't know up from down and has fallen up to success her ENTIRE life. Or Luke who at the best will open his own business some day. But of course, it was about keeping Cam happy because he wants to show WHY he is important. Any other school district would have given him his walking papers by now considering how much stuff he has screwed up for the school. Even before he was winning state championships.
-
Especially when you add in like everyone fell out of the 60s and ready to beat up Chuck. That was just all kinds of bad. Seriously, it was like they tried to pull a: "For Better or For Worst" and make them all go back to their high school days. It was all kinds of bad.
-
Yeah, if that happened, the show would be truly over. Even in the flashbacks, we have NO IDEA how Ripley got ahead of so many people to be fire chief. They want the excuse for the show to be that people like Praitt didn't get promoted because "they didn't want to be behind a desk." Yet, outside the first appearance Ripley was pretty much ALWAYS in the action, he just sucked at thinking things through. Same with saving the other captain that lead to his death with his excuse: "I out rank him." Yes, and you got hit in the head by exploding projectile and he tells the paramedic: "I'm fine, I don't need anything." Yeah, and he passes out from a concussion and then we learn he inhaled dangerious chemics from the coffee plant due to the fire? Yeah, because no one would think: "Wait, this type of fire might lead to chemicals in the air, let's just have everyone clean the place up." "Because fire fighters IMMEDIATELY clean up after a scene like that and take apparently 10 hours."

Mandy and Kristin are in their late 20s early 30s. They are jealous a 17 (25) year old because she became Vanessa's version of Eve? Oh that was just too much and the pinball game face off. What was this? 1972? Oh right, the writers who only watch the last year of the show on ABC think it's funny? Get it? Funny! No, no it wasn't it was really, really bad. Yeah, Fox, wrap the show up next year. Everyone proved their point. They have ran out of jokes. ABC should have just wrapped the show up themselves and Fox thought they would be the white knight bringing the show back. Let it die!

Right because in post 9/11 and Columbine. Communities or school systems would be on this left and right. The problem was in the first season when Cobra Kai after over a decade gone reopening the way it did under Johnny was still in it's "old school" philospy. That was a red flag there, and that's what got Daniel up in arms. He didn't want to see history repeat itself, he knew the kids were bullied and it was out of control. He just didn't believe that the Cobra Kai moto was the right way. The problem is, both are now on the back end of their actions. Johnny has now seen what the philosophy was wrong and Daniel blew things out of proportion. In season 3, they need to start bringing both ideals together, but showing more of: "The way of defense and standing up for yourself" instead of: "Kick your ass, I'm right and you are wrong!"
-
The stories were just all bad. Especially by the time Jo's break down happens, at that point, it's pretty much drag her into Owen's miracle shrink and lock her in there until she FUCKING TALKS! Really, they couldn't do Pro Bono? Why not? Done it before? Oh... that's right DRAMA that is completely forced. Yeah, ABC, start wrapping up the show.

Friends never really had a true "jump the shark" moment, but it completely ran out of steam and story lines. In fact, I did feel like when they did decide on the 10th season. You could tell they were wrapping it all up from the word go.
