  1. I'm rewatching this episode and I *love* that whole going to the part sequence. Sherm picking everyone up, the dance in the car, the walk to the party, the pose at the door. I love it. I also love Sherms obsession with the chair situation at the party and how in to the possibility of Anthony hooking up with Neighbor Bae Sherm was. It was cute. But. As a perpetually single person I need someone to explain Anthony and Talia's breakup to me. Once upon a time Anthony was interested in Fay. Before he ever met Talia. He met Talia and started dating Talia--presumably completely over Fay. Talia saw some awkwardness between Anthony and Fay and asked what the what was and he said once upon a time he was into her but he wasn't and it looks like she's into him now but he's not into her anymore. Talia said it was messy and broke up with him immediately. Why is it messy? Anthony doesn't like Fay he likes Talia. Fay does like Anthony but she respects him and his relationship and isn't making a move and was actively trying to keep her feels to herself and move on. Why is it messy? Did Talia just want to break up with him? Is this messy but I don't see it because perpetually single?
  2. There's nowhere else to discuss "That's My Jam" so I hope no one minds if I mention it here--its discussed a bit earlier up above so I'm assuming it on? Anyway. I freaking love this show. It is HILARIOUS and on this week's episode Billy Porter sang a gospel version of Kelly Clarkson's "What Doesn't Kill You (Makes You Stronger)" that was soo dang good and at one point Patti LaBelle just grabbed a aic and started wailing along with him and it was GORGEOUS. Buy honestly, do celebs just not get a say in what they do? Because Billy Porter and Ariana Grande both said on this show that they don't like playing games. Why come on a show like this if that's true?
  3. I'm watching this now and I'm confused. At Jared and Rochelle's first meeting he leaned over and told her that middle schoolers are hot? No lead in? He's getting physical with her, trying to hold her hand and all and he just leans over and whispers I think middle schoolers are hot. To a journalist. Who's interviewing him. In the middle of a middle school.
  4. What absolutely killed me about this was that gross Spanish teacher saying --repeatedly-- that they didn't know "the rules". I feel like if you need it explicitly stated that it's a rule to not f*ck your students then maybe you have no business being a teacher. Heaven absolutely broke my heart. Especially when she said that she didn't know where she stood with some of her immediate family because of the trial. I found her and Allison Wood to be so incredibly articulate about their abuse. But I think they had confronted it in a way that the doc maker (who's name I've forgotten) hadn't since Allison wrote her memoir and Heaven had to testify. Cheryl, that was her name. I also felt really badly for her. It seemed like she KNEW that her experience was abuse but that it really clicked that she wasn't "special" when she read Utah's emails from the teacher and they were basically the same. And again when the Spanish teacher who she seemed to have considered a friend --even while acknowledging he played a part in her grooming-- was brought down as a predator. Passing the trash is horrifying and something needs to be done to stop that practice.
  5. I have been watching a lot of the Decades channel (Newhart) and there is a commercial that is played at least twice every episode and I hate it. I hate it so much. It's for an angel rearview mirror. It starts with the voice over guy saying how race car drivers drive fast but have no sideview mirrors and how come they don't crash. And then the commercial is for a rearview commercial not a side mirror and they never mention race cars again. It's driving me batty y'all. Absolutely batty.
  6. Oh I am not sure about the Sam friendship. I'm side eyeing her after the birthday fiasco. 1. Lexy is Nell's boss. Uness there is a friendship there no one wants to party with their boss. 2. She knows that Nell still doesn't like Lexy. 3. She knows that Nell is a sloppy drunk. But Sam allowed Lexy to tag along to Nell's birthday anyway and then knowing that Nell was upset/bothered she declined the makeup.burthday outing to hang out with Lexy instead of Nell. It looks like Nell didn't maintain her friendships when she chased after dude but she's the only one who doesn't realize she and Sam aren't friends anymore. Or at least not "besties". A bestie wouldn't do you like that.
  7. I don't think the original spent more time in the court room but more time in the judges chambers. It seemed like we spent a ton of time in Harry's office with all of his magicians tricks, Marilyn picture and weird stuff.
  8. I'm sorry, I'm in the last 10 or so mins of this ep and are there just not going to be consequences for Ellie calling her father racist on tik tok and he's convinced he's going to be fired? And what's going on with Ellie and the security kid? She told all of the internet she's in love with him. She called the cops on her dad accusing him of attacking that kid. And now it's all just fine?
  9. Good night sweet potato can Janine catch a win? Ever? I loved Melissas talk with Mya and I loved the end with the podcast but I thought this wasn't a great episode. But seriously. Can Janine not catch a win? She worked hard encouraging her kids to read and provided them a great place to do it in their reading wonderland and yet Melissa is the winner. I especially didn't like it since I thought Melissa and Barb have been kind of mean these last few episodes. I'm glad that Janine is learning to not get her self worth as a teacher from them. And that scene where she flexed on Melissa and ran away was HYSTERICAL! Not enough to save the episode for me, though.
  10. I'm still plugging along in my binge watch. I'm midway through season 8. I'm not liking these last few seasons as much. I actually liked when they had friends and family pop by for various things (curling! Nick built a bowling alley! Hockey!) and I liked when the EP ended with Molly and Nick eating and chatting. They were pretty cute. There's an ep in season 6 or 7 where Nick sings a song for Molly and he has a really decent voice. Like I already like his speaking voice but his singing voice is dang pleasant. I liked when she'd pop by the farm and they'd eat together. It seems like when they stopped doing that is when Molly went over the top cutesy. She is forever making weird faces. One she does often is letting her jaw drop and folding her lower lip over her teeth. She also closes one eye at a time in some weird slow blink/wink. It's all just....weird. She makes interesting food but ....yeah. She's a lot. I wonder why we dont see as much as their friends and family on the fa anymore? Maybe Nick didn't want to continue? Or maybe he wanted to take care of Bernie while so many people (the crew) are around? Also, has anyone made her tahini chocolate cake? Binge watching she's made that cake or a variation of it more than once.
  11. This just popped up on my Hulu. I am SO PUMPED. I haven't seen this ratchet ass show in years. So, we start the insanity in season 10 (which is disappointing, I really wanted to see the first few seasons that were actually good and showcased seemingly same women who were a bit overcome by their weddings. I felt so bad for Haley! The whole episode her future in laws are calling her ugly, a prostitute. The mil actually pushes a drape over so itl fall on the bride like...everytime I watch these things all I can think is what is wrong with these people?! And yet...I never look away.
  12. I'm watching this now and I am in love with H.E.R. I've never heard her music before but that is going to be rectified this evening. Shania was a mistake but GASTON, Y'all. Gaston can get it. Shoot. But as much as I LOVE Josh Groban (and I really freaking do) I'm not loving him as the Beast. He seems stuff when he's trying to act. I don't know. But again, Gaston. Yes, more, please. So hot. Eta: I think the problem for me with Shania Twain singing Beauty and the Beast is that in the movie this is so clearly a MOMENT. We've been building to this performance all movie long. When Shania sings it---it doesn't feel like a moment. It's a gorgeous woman singing a lovely song but it's not something you're building to I should have held my comments to the end because when Josh Groban came out, out of the Beast costume? Shoosh. Love. Him.
  13. I like this show-- a lot, even. But I have to say I don't like Sam. I don't know what happened! She is by far and away the weakest link for me. So the second ep was lost of me but I LOVED Isaac and Nigel's first kiss. And may have said "Get it, son." to Hetty right out loud. Lady needs some relief she's been getting slowly but surely all sexed up all season! She needed somewhere for all that fire to go
  14. I just finished watching this. I remember when it first came out and I didn't watch it because I didn't like the first book but this was thoroughly enjoyable. Even if it did run out of steam at the then end. I loved Upset!Lily trying all of her friends alcoholic drinks when she realizes that Dash left the party with his ex. She takes a sip of each drink and "ew!" or "gross!" -es each one until she sips a peppermint schnapps and DOWNS that sucker. "This tastes like a candy cane!" I love that Langston went to get Benny back. The show felt much...flatter...without him.
  15. I've been watching the show over from the beginning and I like Molly but season 3 is when she gradually starts cranking up the cringe. I just watched the season 3 ep with her baby shower (everything looked delicious-- especially the trifle. Shoot. Yum.) but there's an over abundance of wide, open mouth led grins with the camera angled AT her tongue. Why?! I have no idea. At certain points I had to look away. I'm looking forward to the eps where the cringe lessens!
  16. It was a bittersweet ending. And it did go WAAAAY over. I record Hell of a Week that comes in right after. That show is only 30 minutes long (I think) and the first 20 minutes was Trevor. At one point I fast forwarded to see how much longer he'd be talking! When Hell of a Week started he made it through the intro and then the recording cut off! But watching Trevor tear up--especially during Youll Never Walk Alone was sweet. I remain loving Dulce and wanting her dresses. I did enjoy the video segment that started with everyone slowly realizing that all of the bad started after Trevor moved to the US and they were like HURRY UP AND LEAVE! I like Trevor Noah and I'll miss him in this format. There were swaths of the pandemic and George Floyd when I just couldn't do a regular newshow and I would watch Trevor.i think he kept me sane.
  17. Now, I get that Janine and Ava and Jacob all have...quirks. But do Barbara and Melissa actually like anyone other than each other at that school? Other than that ---an I do get Jacob was being annoying but----I really enjoyed the episode. I think the line of the week for me was Ericka looking at Ava talking about how impressive her twerk circle was.
  18. I'm going to finish this but....I don't think I like it. This feels like a mashup of every YA supernatural boarding school book that was popular 15ish years ago with a dash of Veronica Mars (but less smart and less sarcastic?). The only Addams family I grew up with was the movies from the 90s and maybe I'm blinded by nostalgia but legit the only thing I like about this are 1. Christina Riccis glasses and Jenna Ortega's lipstick.
  19. So last night Hulu recommended The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Movie which I hadn't seen since it first came out. I have questions because the movie I watched last night is not what I remember. I remember Dustin's book that was bunk and I remember there were rumors of stuff that wasn't in the book --everyone sleeping with everyone else including network execs, free flowing drugs and alcohol--but none of this was in the movie. The movie was full of dropped storylines--Im assuming because it's a poor little Dustin no one liked him so these are things that he heard not things that were told to him. For example, Mark-Paul and Lark and Tiffani-Amber. In the movie MP and L like each other for 3 (or 3 seasons, whatever timeline that breaks down to) but never officially date, but MP and TA caught feelings after they started kissing on the show and that made L hate TA. But, the movie never clarifies. Probably because Dustin didn't know. Mario Lopez slept with every fan girl that crossed his path. Mark Paul and his parents argued over money. Some of the crew hated working with kids. All of it was brought up once and never mentioned again. Even Dustin's friend/blackmailer (a young and gorgeous Manny Jacinto) plot kind of pittles out. One scene hes showing Dustin a video of Dustin getting wasted and threatening to release the video to the network and all of the media--ruining the squeaky clean image of the show and possibly getting the show shuttered for good. And the next scene is Dustin sitting alone before the graduation ep is shot and Mark Paul comes and gives him advice apologizes if he ever treated Dustin poorly. Did the friend go through with the blackmail? Is there another movie out there that isn't so squeaky clean? Or did I conflate this movie with the rumors that Dustin admitted to starting? I will also say this: the acting, the writing, all of it was terrible. And I don't understand why they picked actors who would have been suitable for a movie on Good Morning Miss Bliss and kept the same ones all through 5 seasons on Saved by the Bell. MPG was a scrawny little 13 year old and the actor portrays that. But by the second season he was a bonafide hottie and the 13 year old actor certainly couldn't portray THAT. Same with the scrawny Mario Lopez. The only good choice was Dustin.
  20. I was just coming to complain about this stupid commercial. Hate. HAAAATE. But also, why does she end by singing, "sorry not sorry!" What is she not sorry for? The incredibly terrible commercial?
  21. Ok, I know nothing about It's a Sin but hooo boy Nathaniel is flipping pretty. I could stare at that tall drink of water all. dang. DAY.

    Encanto (2021)

I'm only just watching this for the first time. Can I tell y'all I started weeping from the moment little Antonio pleaded with Mirabel to walk to the door with him and kept weeping off and on until the very end of the movie? As a person currently having a hard time with "perfect" siblings who I am CONSTANTLY being compared to I found Mirabel entirely too relatable.
  23. I didn't understand Syabiyas choices during the technical. Every step she seemed to look around and just copy what everyone else was doing but when it was time for the blind bake she was suddenly like ....I'm gonna go my own way this time. Which was a mistake.
  24. I've been watching this all afternoon and my favorite moment has been in episode one. The host told one of the grandmother's to make a pizza cupcake and she said no. And then made something else entirely. I've never seen a contestant do their own thing before.
  25. I didn't know that about Billy. I've only ever seen him from Mike and Molly and don't follow him in any social media so I missed everything about his health. I hope he's doing better now and losing that much weight is HARD. You're right, Guy and Antonia only played the pictionary game but this could be the noise level? I don't know. It seemed like all of the attention was on Guy and Antonia and the contestants we're afterthoughts.
